You receive these messages because someone in the network still uses old version of binaries. It doesn't affect your software work, so don't worry about that.

I am getting these messages on the daemon (linux binary). My Wallet is o.k. and I can turn the daemon miner on and off - however when I do a refresh I don't get any additional blocks.

922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Major update NOW! on: August 20, 2014, 12:47:02 PM
I don't follow this thread often enough to be able to "not stay quiet". I'm also quite unable to prevent free speech.

Crikey! I was talking about the entire ALT forum - as I said, the bile, FUD and vitriol from the XMR trolls was relentless and on dozens of threads.
It damaged all the cryptonotes including Monero.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Major update NOW! on: August 20, 2014, 08:17:39 AM
I see it happen often on this thread - the same accounts are quick to say "XMR developers copy and paste code!" or "Monero is scam and developers have instamine" or "Of course they just bought their position on Mintpal because MRO developers are scam". You're talking to ME. You're insulting a group of people of which I am a part. It's hurtful, it's untrue, and it's uneccessary. Think about that next time you decide to throw out an insult.

I think if we analysed the FUD posts and shit stirrers - Monero Fanbois would come out on top. I am not saying you are one of them but you stayed quiet when XMR FanBois with new accounts abused ALL BCN users and devs on this thread. That's a shame because that behaviour hurts all cryptonote including Monero. There is even a thread on here trashing EVERY SINGLE CRYPTONOTE SAVE MONERO! Do you support these FUDsters? Meanwhile Lightcoin clone DarkCoin has more CAP than all the cryptonotes put together.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin technical discussion on: August 19, 2014, 10:18:27 PM
We are planning to provide a solution of this problem in the nearest update in 2-3 days.

Cool, thanks!
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Major update NOW! on: August 18, 2014, 12:56:13 PM
Woah! What happened to Monero?

Looks like it was a pump and dump all along - Who would have thought with all that vitriolic anti-BCN  FUD from the likes of Darkota

I think I am right in saying that most of the Bytecoin owners are fully committed standing by the Devs and see Bytecoin as a long term interest and investment!  Smiley
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 23, 2014, 01:08:24 PM
Guys, im not sure if this has been posted here before but there is a new GUI wallet for Bytecoin called Cryptonite XCN.
Discussion thread is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=700039
Its still in development stage. Ideas and suggestions are welcomed.

Been there. They are planning to support Monero, Boolberry, DuckNote, and Quazarcoin as well.

Ouch! Who is going to be the first one to go there and tell them to exclude that annoying monero scamcoin?

I am a big fan of ByteCoin - however Monero is not a scam coin. Let's rise above the level of some fanbois who troll and post FUD on this, and other, threads! I am all for informed debate and info on the various cryptonight coins!

Puzzles, deep web, and other mysterious things - that's so exciting, makes BCN more attractive .

In addition, BCN is a coin with valid proof of work and developers who understand CryptoNote as no one else.

They understand and continue to implement something that hasn't been peer reviewed? That's called "bad cryptography", you dumbass.

Are you Beavis or Butthead?  Tongue
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero or Bytecoin? on: July 09, 2014, 10:02:40 AM

...and it is not an official announcement, Bytecoin has never been officially launched**.

If you are too stupid or lazy to use Tor then that is your problem. Stop crying and wetting yourself about it on here.  Roll Eyes

Same for that tiresome idiot Darkota!

OK, 3 days ago I transferred 100000 BCN from my wallet to Poloniex

Glad you got your 100K back!  Cheesy

I have to say that Poloniex is the quickest and easiest exchange I have ever used. (And I have used a lot!)

https://poloniex.com/exchange/ltc_mrc

I will use them for any none Cryptonote deals I do as well from now on.

Dear DStrange and abit2slo!
Thank you for this topic.
This coin has an ugly interface but is very intresting as a technology.

Are you calling MSDOS ugly?  Tongue

interestig: CryptoNote Foundation - https://cryptonotefoundation.org/

Excellent! I look forward to a push with new innovations and services. Key will be Fiat Gateways/Exchanges to unlink from BTC.
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcon will fall under the new altcoin tecnologies ? yes, no coment your opini on: July 05, 2014, 11:20:52 AM

another analogy

the coin (physical metal coins) is still used today, everything else is built on top of it;

denominations
notes
shares
stocks
payment methods
anonymity (laundering)
digital currency

I thank you. That analogy makes your point as clear as mud.
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcon will fall under the new altcoin tecnologies ? yes, no coment your opini on: July 05, 2014, 10:40:27 AM
THANKS FOR YOUR VOTE....

KEEP THE COMUNITY STRONG SUPPORT ALTCOINS...............

I guess the question is up to the BitCoin Devs to a large extent.
Given that some of them must be holding $Millions worth I don't see a proportional amount of investment in development. This could well let another (or some other) alts take Bitcoin's crown by stealth.
LiteCoin was another example of this - very little development from people with large holdings of a coin with a capitalisation of $1Billion at one point.

Another factor is relevance. BitCoin is largely irrelevant in the mining world now. It retains relevance as a currency and wealth store by mass uptake alone. However other Alts are currently much better at being currencies and (by virtue of anonimisation and attack resistance) wealth stores. So we shall see. What we do know from Bitcoin is that the first of a kind will almost certainly prevail.

Myself, I have put all my eggs (BTC) into Bytecoin. Not only does it tick the boxes above, it is long established and it is the first of a kind. Also never underestimate the value of a name that is instantly knowable by the mass media and the power of a background story about a birth in the dark net and encrypted books etc etc.  Smiley
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 05, 2014, 08:57:01 AM
Anyone else having trouble transferring bcn? I try to transfer some coins to exchange but they never leave my wallet?

Look at log , find ID of transaction and find is that transaction show in blockchain on Minergate.

But it looks like http://bcn.extremepool.org/# stuck in playmenet: since it grows ... but is not payed Sad

bcn.extremepool.org has no issues.  Payouts are working fine.
there is an issue with the amount you can xfer out of the wallet.

Indeed, I am mining on extreme with 3 minerd's and 2 Claymores - no issues at all.
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero or Bytecoin? on: July 04, 2014, 06:47:29 PM
Monero is going down!

Bytecoin was the first and there are no prizes for second place in Crypto.  Grin
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 04, 2014, 01:41:40 PM
Bytecoin has presented their core team. They seem like top notch professionals indeed. Well, I needn't to say that taking into account they've created CryptoNote source code and keep delivering the most significant updates.

I'm surprised they called me a part of their team! And, to be honest, it is a great honor for me Cheesy

You have done a great job and are a good Ambassador

Great job on the anniversary page

TBH - I haven't been so excited since I unpacked my Amiga 500 in 1989!  Grin

Great Music!  Tongue  http://bytecoin.org/happy-birthday-bytecoin
940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uncensored Sync Thread on: July 04, 2014, 12:45:31 PM
I'm staking Sync just fine, takes a while at time's but does work. Seems like I'm earning more now with stake+multipool then the pow stage.

That's interesting. I am just staking - didn't try multipool yet!
