921  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: June 30, 2023, 04:25:04 AM
I have read these rules. But there are also those who really like to mark alt accounts. Who actually makes the rules? Didn't they break the rules by making up their own?

The trust system on the forum is unmoderated. There aren't any rules in place to stop a member from tagging a seller's or buyer's account.

<cut>
But no one dares to enter the forum for fear of being banned/marked

I call this bullshit. I haven't come across a single instance where accounts are tagged by DT members as alts solely based on token transfers between them. There is always other (circumstantial) evidence that connects them.

Noted and thanks

I think if there is agreement in this discussion that past mistakes will be forgiven, it might be better if there is a dedicated thread to open acknowledgment of past mistakes, and it's worth noting that forgiven mistakes are about past alt /sale of accounts (according to the agreement). Let the members admit it and maybe it will be better

Past mistakes due to scam or fraud, in my opinion is unforgivable
922  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: June 30, 2023, 04:12:07 AM
I still don't understand how to set the image size in this forum. Is it possible if in talkimg there is a choice of image sizes to be displayed? and this is default setting like [img] code which is shown by default after uploading image

regards
923  Economy / Reputation / Re: ACCOUNT CONNECTED OR NOT on: June 30, 2023, 04:03:05 AM
I don't know why the newbies are so much interested on chasing after bounty for hunt because everyone of them needs money and think of arriving at their desired pace through the hunting after bounties, base on my experience, i believe having alts in not what the forum goes against but if the forum banned you and you creates another account then it's a call for ban evasion and am afraid if that's not what will end the situation we are discussing about  since those accounts were connected all together.

I accidentally found it. I think ban evansion are forum rules. For other cases like connected accounts I don't really care because the forums allow that
924  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 30, 2023, 03:57:35 AM
If by "dominate," you're referring to market capitalization, I think your argument might be a bit misleading. Firstly, as per the current data from CMC, Bitcoin's dominance is once again above 50%. Secondly, market capitalization doesn't really reflect the number of members in the crypto community. So I don't know how you came to the conclusion that 53% of the crypto community "was born from altcoins". Besides, it's not an either-or situation. Many people in the crypto world hold both Bitcoin and altcoins in their portfolios simultaneously.

This is the data displayed by the blockchir site

However, even though 53% of the crypto market is controlled by altcoins, this figure is too small because very many altcoins are only able to control 53% of the market, while bitcoin itself is able to control 48%. Of course the bitcoin community is the best but I don't like it when altcoins are seen as not contributing to the crypto world in general

But overall I like your statement, and I admit mine is weak

That's true. But, when it comes to a forum platform like bitcointalk.org, this fact doesn't really have much relevance. Sure, you might see some buying and selling happening on the forum, but it's not the main thing people are here for.

Yes I agree with you again. Indeed bitcointalk is not compatible with the web3 system because it is not a marketplace. But maybe bitcointalk needs to innovate a bit, either using web3 or some other innovation
925  Economy / Economics / A small summary of Cypherpunk on: June 30, 2023, 03:41:22 AM
Cypherpunk is an activity, movement, or concept that began to be widely discussed in 1980/1990. This group emphasizes social and political change through cryptography. The basic idea behind cypherpunk is privacy, transaction anonymity and reputation. Source

These Cypherpunk groups aren't just regular people, some of them are experts. they do understand ciphers and capable of writing software. One of the highlights is, the concept of cryptography in 1970 was first developed in secret by the military and spy agencies, until in 1980 this document was leaked to the public so that many people were talking about it. Source

The RSA algorithm was first introduced to the public in 1983 by Ron Rivest , Adi Shamir dan Leonard Adleman - Source

Well-known list participants
Julian Assange - Source
John Perry Barlow - Source
And Other

Other sources ; Source 1 Source 2 Wikileaks

Main Article - Source

This is a small summary of an article. I don't know cypherpunk yet and I'm having a hard time understanding it. Maybe the discussion will make me quickly understand the concept of cypherpunk (in my opinion this is the basis for the formation of bitcoin)

927  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: June 29, 2023, 05:51:15 AM
I have mixed feelings on this for a couple reasons. 1st of all, buying and selling accounts in not prohibited or against any rules of the forum.

RULE 18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

Discouraged does not mean illegal. The definition of discouraged is having lost confidence or enthusiasm; disheartened.

I have read these rules. But there are also those who really like to mark alt accounts. Who actually makes the rules? Didn't they break the rules by making up their own?

Edit: Btw...The person who ordered and taught me to register in this forum now doesn't dare to login to bitcointalk anymore. The reason is because his wallet and friends are connected. Yes, I know my friends don't have alt, but they do have a community that used to be active on the bounty. And often they ask their friends for a little eth/btc. Yes I am willing to bear witness that they are not spammers, just a bunch of young people playing the forums well. But no one dares to enter the forum for fear of being banned/marked

I got this story when I wanted to buy BTC from my own friend and he didn't want to sell it to me because later my account would be considered connected to my friend's account.

Edit: Sorry, maybe this is not a thread for me to join the discussion. Maybe DT can communicate with each other to decide whether tagging alt that doesn't cheat is allowed or not? because forum rules allow alt.

I know about the DT system after installing BPIP extension a week ago

MILESTONE 1

I don't think I need to celebrate, But when I think I need to celebrate. I don't have any beer in the fridge, oh I forgot I'm not a beer drinker. So what should I do? do you have coffee? No, no. No one celebrates by drinking coffee. So? Never mind, it's just a junior title that I'll get at 11:00 (UTC). No one cares. I'd rather just keep sleeping and dream that I'm sleeping. Remember the only dream that comes true is when you dream about peeing...

930  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 28, 2023, 03:46:04 AM
I am not interested at all in this and I don't want to connect any wallets with my bitcointalk account, it is waste of time.
Web3 have nothing to do with bitcoin as far as I know, it's only related with worthless shitcoins and it doesn't have any real use case in real world.
If I want to make login in forum more secure I would only consider adding optional 2FA as improvement to current login system.

Yes, I know you hate altcoins, but they already dominate 53% of the crypto market. That means 53% of the crypto community was born from altcoins. Without altcoins, of course bitcoin is not as popular as it is now.

If in the future crypto is common to be a currency for shoping in online shop. Are you always going to stick your hard wallet to your laptop? I think it would be safer and easier if we put a little money in the extension wallet for shopping purposes. If you don't feel safe, you can just change the address.

When M-banking was first known, many people did not believe in its security, but now lazy people have to go to an ATM just to transfer money or check balances. The world is constantly changing and innovation is one way to survive change

Yes, Bitcoin is an advanced technological breakthrough for the future of digital currency and financial systems, it has nothing to do with logging into online forums and websites. Seriously, why would you want to link your wallet to your online forum profile? It just opens up a can of worms, exposing you to all sorts of risks. You don't want your financial assets out in the open for everyone to see, right? Plus, there are always potential threats such as hacking or phishing attacks.

I didn't paste my bitcoin address in my profile because it's empty and has nothing in it. If there's a bit of bitcoin maybe I'll put it in there. Yes, security issues always haunt bitcoin wallets. This is the weak point of crypto wallets, there is no way to fix a hacked wallet except by replacing it. In a bank service known as changing passwords, I think crypto should innovate on this issue
931  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 25, 2023, 02:56:55 PM
First, there's no Web3 project so far that has been able to build a plugin that will enable direct connection to a Bitcoin wallet (Not multi-wallets). So that could not be possible unless something changed in the future.

Hi nwanda. I'm glad you commented on my thread. Maybe you're right, security is the top priority in this forum. And using web3 is still too vulnerable for now. I don't know in the future

Why do you need web3 login? What people are still looking forward to is the two factor authentication which might be done before this year get to an end. Web3 login is not what is possible yet on this forum, there is no bitcoin wallet using web3 for bitcoin because web3 is not in bitcoin protocol and likely will not be there.

I don't really need to login using the web3 system. This is just a question that popped into my mind. But sometimes I think, bitcoin is an advanced technological breakthrough for the future, why are bitcoin forums still running conventionally? of course the admin of this site is very thorough with security, so it's very strict in this forum.

Only when you need to use their products which are either GameFi, DeFi, Metaverse, Gambling, ... Now, let's think what will you do with your Bitcoin wallet in Bitcointalk?

hi tranthidung
I'm glad to see you again. I think you're right, and as usual you have lots of useful links
932  Other / Meta / Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 25, 2023, 02:32:32 PM
Currently, it seems that sites that implement web3 technology are popular. This site connect wallet to login. Is it possible if bitcointalk also adopts such a system in the future? maybe it will be more interesting if we can log in with a bitcoin wallet

But I don't know if a bitcoin wallet can do something like that. most sites that adopt the web3 system use the ethereum network

If that can happen, the marketplace system will also be easier to use. I think the marketplace system here is too conventional. Not bad, but prone to fraud

I was enjoying a cup of coffee while browsing the forums. suddenly thought that question in my mind

934  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [DISKUSI] Harga dan Potensi Altcoin on: June 25, 2023, 02:38:53 AM

935  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: June 24, 2023, 05:05:04 PM

All these posts appear to be a text-spin of the post they are quoting as well, which means this is almost certainly an alt account of nlovric.
No sir, i am not alt of Nlovric. i shocked when i saw this post. now i am telling whole story what actually happened. I did some mistake which got me this far...~snip~

I was surprised to hear his confession. It would be a breakthrough if you could hire other people to post on this forum. I think just doing plagiarism is very wrong here (quoting some other people's ideas). In this case you're not just partaking of that person's ideas, but all of other people's ideas. Sounds good.. I don't think anyone has made a great breakthrough except you
936  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late for newbies? on: June 23, 2023, 02:37:50 PM
Is it the right time to invest in Bitcoin?

If you are a beginner, Do not dare to put money in bitcoins. Learn first and analyze first. I think this is true in all areas of investment

All my friends are talking about cryptocurrencies, but I still can't wrap my head around it. What would you recommend for someone who has no previous experience? Do any of you have resources that you can recommend to me that will explain cryptocurrencies in the shortest and most simple way?

Btw, I'm also a beginner. From what I'm doing here. in learning bitcoin and crypto in general quickly it is better to look in a search engine. If you think you understand the basics of crypto and find it difficult, ask here. For advanced and more complex questions about bitcoin/crypto, this is the right place. There are a lot of competent people here and you won't find them anywhere else.
937  Other / Meta / Re: Why do you browse the forum without notification? on: June 23, 2023, 02:22:48 PM
How do people that doesn't use quotes or mentions notification bots browse this forum? I mean, it is wrong and does not promote healthy discussion. I am a user who is always not excited by whatever is in the opening topic (OP). I rather go through the flowing conversation to see who holds opposite opinion with me, then I will go in for some kind of debate in order to come out of the conversation more informed.

I haven't used any of the notifications on this forum, but I don't think it's too difficult. I always open my watchlist when browsing these forums. I did it several times, and it worked fine. I'll check the comments below mine and I'll reply if the discussion does require an answer.

However, most of the discussion here is just answers. After answering they never gave follow up questions. so that most of the discussion becomes stuck. Besides, if we discuss for too long it will go off topic, and that is something that is forbidden here. In my opinion, if the discussion heats up, it will definitely go everywhere and end up being OOT, and later it will return to the main topic. but that can't happen here, maybe it would be more fun if we had a long and heated discussion.
938  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this a normal thing in discussions on this forum? on: June 23, 2023, 01:56:08 PM
Thanks for the attention that has been given. This has probably been a pretty tough weekend for me, I have a lot of reports to make and several deadlines to meet. So I'm in a bad mood, and the word "kids" offends me quite a bit. Maybe it's better if I lock this thread and ignore it.

Today I had a meeting with a client and my project proposal was accepted. It puts me in a good mood. Happy weekend everyone
939  Economy / Reputation / Is this a normal thing in discussions on this forum? on: June 23, 2023, 12:27:58 AM
Previously, I apologize if what I will write here is not important and maybe childish. But to me this is an unhealthy discussion.

So I commented on the thread created by Not your key not your BTC. I commented my opinion, but he fired back by calling me "kid" without offering a clear argument and kept at it until perhaps I had taken the subject off-topic. I know I was wrong but I don't think what he did was ethical to discuss with the term “kid” which I think was purposely done to belittle me.

The discussion starts here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456709.msg62436311#msg62436311
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456709.msg62438016#msg62438016
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456709.msg62441644#msg62441644
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5456709.msg62446676#msg62446676

Is this a normal thing in this forum discussion? I have nothing against differences of opinion, but I think there is no need to insult the interlocutor with insults for which there is no clear reason.

940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Asset Or Currency? on: June 22, 2023, 12:15:11 PM
People have been asking this same question over and over on here over the year and my answer is always the same, and always has been..it's both and asset and a currency.

Thank you for your attention. If you feel the question has been asked a lot. You can answer the other questions in this thread

Currently, bitcoin has a very high price. I don't know why the bitcoin price can move so fast. Is it possible that there are brokers playing with bitcoin prices?
Initially, fiat money was born on the basis of gold reserves. But now it's not like that. Many people disagree when the US prints money massively without considering gold reserves. However, bitcoin was born without any guarantees, only the trust of the community makes bitcoin have value. Isn't that the same?

I would be very happy if you could discuss this

~snip~  Satoshi Nakamoto the creator of Bitcoin did so because he wanted we to have an alternative to the centralized system that's in existence that favors only the rich and well connected.

I think bitcoin is very easily controlled by rich people. They can buy lots of bitcoins and hold them for the price to go up, once the price goes up they will sell massively and the price goes down. If it is done repeatedly, they will get a lot of profit
