A motorbike
Not sure how that can be considered a four-wheel vehicle also known as a "car".

Man. You ask for some simple recommendations and all you get are ridiculous suggestions. Unbelievable are the Internet forums.

How about something more Urban, I don't live in the desert you know.

Not really sure what the desert has to do with it. I think you're just making excuses because you don't like the $100,000 conversion price.

Consider a Honda Civic.

Intermission: Pastoral: To Die in the Country

Let's take a breather from the lists (an intermission, so to speak) and cast an eye at one film on the list so far. I think this will be a good thing to do every so often. Each film on the list goes through some type of vetting process. It should meet some criteria. Was it a contender at a film festival? Has it received critical acclaim? Is it a cult film? Is its director highly praised? Does the film break new ground? Does it have a devoted fan base? Do others who like the kind of films you like recommend the film in question?

And so, here we see a fan made Criterion Three Reasons for Pastoral: To Die in the Country. It seems to be quite the surreal film: https://vimeo.com/30090257

A while back, I would've made lists like those of btceic, PurpleTentacle and hany103, including films such as those listed above. All good films. I have many of those on Blu-ray or DVD.

But then I started watching films which were critically acclaimed for various reasons.

There are two lists below. One is a list of some of my absolutely favorite relatively modern films generally made for American and British markets with some sort of Hollywood influence. It is the second list. The other is a list of some of my all time favorite films which I would take to a desert island with me. They are pretty much all Asian films, but critically acclaimed to very high levels, often occurring in the top 100 greatest films ever made.

The point is, I am not unlike others in this thread. I have watched and enjoyed the same films as all of you. And I would have named them as some of my favorite films. But I must say, after having explored other areas of cinema, I truly understand why critics also name the same kinds of films I have been naming, as in an earlier post here.

Given that I have been on the same path as all of you in watching films, and came to the same conclusions as you with regard to what constitutes a great film (see the quoted sections above), it stands to reason that there must be something wonderful and significant about the films listed below which would appeal to many of you as well.

And thus, I stand behind the following as some of my absolutely favorite films.
