You guys should really try the new LightningAsic V3c miner software if you haven't already, it's designed to do one thing and one thing only, to get the most out of your Gridseed miners. If you don't have a Tp-link 703N, they are really cheap to get on eBay @ ~$20. Definitely worth the investment.

Man, You're pushing so hard this on couple of threads that You should publish source (You' re probably using cgminer branch without author permission in closed sw) to deminish obvious conclusion that You have hidden interest this closed software be rant on as many devices...

Not my call, it's not cgminer and the source will be published soon enough.

By the way, new features coming up: auto frequency tuning, revamped mining algorithm (+30kh/s/miner), detecting the IPs of running LightningAsic controllers...

I updated to V3 from V1 yesterday with no problems. Its a little glitchy, so I tried to update to V3b and that wouldn't work because I assume the site was down.

Today (5-4-14) I am trying to upgrade to V3c and all I get is "Failed To Unpack Software"

I have tried fresh downloads of V2 bin, cleared browser cache, using chrome, reset controller etc etc....No Joy.

Is it because the site is down still?  Huh

No it is up... upgrading works (but some get Unpack error).
929  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 05, 2014, 04:47:07 PM
I updated to the first version of v3 and haven't been able to apply any of the updates since.

I just tried upgrade v1 and upgrade v2 and the rc10c. All of them give me the "failed to unpack".

I just tried upgrading from v1 and v2 and it works perfectly fine, so not sure why it does that.

I am already on v3. But I want to upgrade to rc10c. I keep getting failed to unpack with all three bins provided in main post.

Yep, exactly the same here.

Well I have no clue why it works for some, but not for you guys, I'm sorry.  Huh Feel free to send them my way if you want me to flash the V3c.

Now I'm getting "Failed to unpack firmware" when I do the RC10c, and "MD5 differs" when I do the V2?

Try re-downloading the V2 bin.

One controller worked and updated to C. The other is failing to unpack as well. I tried re-downing file too. I ordered a new TPlink with 64MB RAM, so I can just use one controller.

Will charts work with 50 miners on a 703N TPlink?

They should work, but it might affect performance a bit.
932  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 05, 2014, 01:28:49 PM
So how do I update from the RC10 to RC10c firmware? I tried by uploading the RC10c directly, and by uploading the V2 bin first, but I get the 'Firmware with name LAxxxRCc.bin not found' message all the time.

Try now, it should work.

Upgrading works now!

New firmware : https://www.dropbox.com/s/cetsoqgn2t5ail3/LAG3355_12-RC10c.bin
Changes: also works with standard Tp-link 703N. slightly faster hashing (0-5kh/s/miner). Miner logs are viewable now. Fixed some pools, multipool.us and wemineall.com are still broken.
EDIT: Upgrading currently works.

Still no luck updating the new firmware with the LightningASIC TP-links. Is this the correct standard TP-link, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Portable-Nano-TP-LINK-TL-WR703N-150Mbps-WiFi-for-iPhone4-Wireless-Router-88-/221325209638?pt=US_USB_Wi_Fi_Adapters_Dongles&hash=item338802b026?

Sorry, I forgot to edit the guide, steps to install the firmware on 703N are in the OP now.

Looks like the page is still down. Oh well...

But it was up for a brief moment... Cry

LightningAsic V3 Firmware vs BFGminer + Rpi
V3c firmware just released is now available for download, and it works with standard Tp-link 703N controller.

The firmware is released, please see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=554542.0

Yes but be careful.  I updated mine to v3 and there are two major problems that have totally idled by units as a result:

1) dual mining (sha256 + scrypt) is gone, it is 100% scrypt now

2) they v3 firmware seems to be very picky about which pools it works with.  I can tell you that multipool.us and wemineall.com do NOT WORK.  I need to find a new pool to test it but for now I am down.

Actually it's the other way around, some pools are just really picky, for example they mark perfectly valid shares as invalid, or just time out the stratum for no reason at all.
939  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 04, 2014, 03:33:19 PM
I tried that. Including using Chrome's incognito mode to arrest any cache issues. Nope. Still the same error message.

To elaborate more about my issue. I see the upload progress go from 0-100%, next moment instead of doing it's thing, it comes up with this message.

Right, it seems that www.lightningasic.com is under some sort of maintenance. Hence the text file containing info on the firmware bins is temporarely unaccessible.  http://www.lightningasic.com/firmware/md5/md5.txt, which is what the firmware is looking for to match.
940  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LightningAsic Gridseed Controller Firmware V3 on: April 04, 2014, 03:27:56 PM
It looks like 20 miners with the new firmware are running better than 22 miners on bfgminer at the same frequency.

Many thanks to sandor111 for all of his hard work on this.

Excellent.  Grin
