921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: December 12, 2023, 04:47:24 PM
It is not possible to become addicted to gambling but gain from gambling. When a gambler is too addicted to gambling, he makes more wrong decisions than right ones, causing him to lose money instead of making money. A gambler who is addicted to gambling may not earn money by gambling, but when he is out of gambling addiction, he can gain from gambling by making the right decision. I was addicted to gambling at one time and I realized that it took me a long time to get out of gambling addiction and I was able to get out. During the time when I was addicted to gambling, I used to make more wrong decisions in gambling but when I came out of this addiction, many wins came in my favor through the right decisions. I said from my opinion that as long as a gambler is addicted to gambling he cannot make a profit.
A gambling addict can also win, but that will not stop him from gambling. There is even a possibility that he feels that he has received additional capital to gamble longer, so he will continue gambling. It is very difficult to realize that someone is addicted to gambling, but you can get out of gambling even though it takes a long time. But when we compare them with successful gamblers, they are not gambling addicts who gamble continuously because successful gamblers know how to use gambling and do not consider it as a place to make money or want to gamble for a long time. They have many things that most gamblers don't have, and they also know when they gamble and when they stop gambling. And it is true that a gambler who is addicted to gambling will often make wrong decisions, and that is different from successful gamblers in making decisions where successful gamblers can make good use of their time in gambling so that they can get out on time.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: December 12, 2023, 04:18:30 PM
I think this is definitely family matter and families should take care of their kids very closely. I think its not good to force block your kids from gambling. I would rather suggest parents to be accepting, listening and become good teachers. I think parents should teach their kids about how exactly gambling works and its risky points. Gambling is fun activity unless you are addicted to it. I would never scare my kids away but would like to see them with high self confidence.
Yes, this is very important as a parent role, but telling children about the risks and danger of gambling can only be done when they can understanding it and understand what gambling is. As a parent, you must have a firm attitude toward your children so thats your children don't disobey them in the future, but the point is The main thing is, don't let the younger generation or your children take part in your gambling activities. If you want to do it, do it secretly, don't let your children find out about the gambling activities you use, as longer as they don't know what gambling is, then it will be safe, maybe they can know when they grow up and this is the right times for you to give your child insight into the dangers of gambling for the future.
When parents teach gambling to their children, they must be aware that their children can lose control of themselves, especially since they are still children whose psychological condition is still unstable. They will easily become angry when they experience loss, the same as when their wishes are not fulfilled by their parents. His parents can teach them to have self-control, which will also be useful for other things. But parents must remember that a child's personality will be different from other children. Perhaps they can control themselves until they grow up, but who knows?

Parents can only educate them well. And to teach them about gambling, it's best to wait until they grow up and understand the meaning of risk, self-control, discipline, patience, and so on. And if parents want to gamble, they should not do it in front of their children because they are observers who quickly understand what they see. That will trigger him to find out more on the Internet.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 12, 2023, 03:54:42 PM
You should gamble what you can afford to lose and you don't have to find a financer or borrow a money to a bank or other lending company just to satisfy your gambling addiction because if you do so, You're giving yourself a chance to ruin your life because we all know how debts and addiction ruin everything especially if you cannot control them.
That is very true because gambling with the money we can afford, we only lose the amount of money we can afford, and we will not break that limit. If we violate it, we will regret it because we have used more money than usual, and that will disrupt our financial position. You also don't need to look for other people to finance your gambling because that will only increase your difficulties even higher. Just imagine if we lose using the money we borrowed. We will definitely have difficulty returning the money. And if we have no income, it will be even more difficult because we will have absolutely nothing to pay back the borrowed money.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: December 12, 2023, 03:39:31 PM
It's a personal preference.

In the end different people prefer different things. If you only look at it as a rational choice where only money matters, then it's not a good idea to gamble, because the expected return of any bet is negative. That is, you're expected to lose money over time by gambling.

However, there are other factors, such as entertainment, hope, etc. Those are hard to value, and change from person to person. Even from time to time for each person.
It all depends on each person's perspective on using gambling, and that means if someone can use gambling as intended, they will not lose too much money. They can even enjoy gambling as entertainment and will not try to chase wins like other gamblers. They know that they only enjoy gambling as entertainment, and if they want to make money, they can look elsewhere because gambling is not a place to make money.

But if people use gambling as a place to make money, they will be disappointed and regretful because they can't make any money at all. Instead of getting money, they actually lose money, and the amount of money lost in gambling can increase if they lose control of themselves and only follow their emotions.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 12, 2023, 03:16:22 PM
I think @OP is right in saying that the longer you spend, the more you lose. We must be able to limit ourselves to gambling so that we don't experience too many losses. However, many gamblers don't want to stop in a short time because they are still not satisfied with gambling. Apart from that, some gamblers have experienced a lot of losses, so they want to recover their losses first before they stop gambling. This will make them lose more and more, and they can also lose self-control to keep limiting the money they use for gambling. Playing gambling must always be limited by money and time, and this clearly gives us the opportunity to avoid problems that will arise from gambling. Certainly, we can avoid the many defeats that many gamblers have faced. Apart from that, we can protect our money from being immediately used for gambling.

One reason for gambling addicts to stop for a moment after they realize they are losing and they don't have income for daily needs, apart from that I don't think they will realize to limit their gambling activities, so we have to act actively to warn friends who are already addicted to gambling to limit the use of funds in betting so that they will stop gambling once they lose their limited funds. I always remind my friends to get out of the gambling addiction zone even though they don't listen at the moment but they will realize that my warning will be useful for them one day.
By stopping for a moment and realizing that he has lost, he can help him reflect on his mistakes and learn his lesson. By doing so, he can at least try to start limiting his gambling activities so that he can learn to reduce the amount he loses. And I agree always to warn friends who are addicted to gambling to start trying to limit their gambling. If they still don't want to, that's up to them because it is the responsibility of each person who uses their money to gamble. The important thing is that we must always limit our gambling activities so that we avoid losing a lot and so that we can still have money left over that we can use to gamble another day.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one you are good at? on: December 12, 2023, 02:37:34 PM
Hello! I'd like to pose a question to my fellow gamblers here. Since the topic of sports betting has been gaining attention recently, allow me to ask:

So, the question is... Which are you better at: selecting the right bet or managing your bankroll?

And, how has it been going so far? Are you profitable or not, and why?
I don't know what you mean by selecting the right bet as I believe that's an impossible feat to achieve in gambling. We all have luck to place out selection upon because I believe if we had a way to actually select the right bet always tend everyone would be at a profit end in the game of gambling. So I think managing your bankroll would be the preferred option as one could achieve a win when the chance comes but that's if you can manage your bankroll till that moment comes.
Perhaps @OP means that with the right bet, it is a bet that we know the sport well so that we can place bets on teams that we really know and have the knowledge to choose a team that can win. Indeed, we all have luck in making choices, but it must be based on the knowledge we have so that we can place bets on teams that have a greater chance of winning. But we do have to be able to manage the money to place bets and only use the money we can afford. This is to avoid losing large amounts where we will regret placing bets with large amounts of money. If we can accept whatever the result is and have determined the amount of money, we can immediately place a bet based on the results of the analysis we have carried out.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 12, 2023, 02:18:34 PM

Being an avid fan of a specific sports and/or team will really make a huge difference in sports betting. By being a fan, mostly you allot specific time to do your research because you are way too engrossed about the sports itself or the players which will give you many information that are crucial in making a decision for your bets. I agree that you will know their weak points and their strengths which will give you an edge over those who are just merely riding the bandwagon of sports betting. Making a decision with a basis to support it is highly likely to get a favorable result. Although it wouldn't hurt to try sports betting even if you aren't an expert and is still just a newbie. It's just a matter of determination in doing your research and a little bit of luck.
Fans will definitely know more about their favorite team and the opposing team that will be competing, so they will always update the information they have so they can place bets correctly. From this information, they can always follow the developments of each team, and they can place bets on other teams, especially if they have more information that is useful for betting. Decision making will also be based on the results of their research on the teams that will compete so that if they do not see a possibility of winning, they will not force themselves to place a bet. If they keep updating their knowledge, they can become an expert in sports betting, which will increase their chances of betting.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 12, 2023, 01:43:08 PM
~snip~
Most often the problem isn't with gambling itself, it's mostly with the attitude of the gamblers towards gambling, their attitude most times results in the behavioral changes which later leads to the negative effect which arise from the continuous engagement in gambling activities too often, and that is when discipline like you rightly mentioned becomes very important and needed.

If these gamblers can be disciplined enough they will definitely have self control, every disciplined person doesn't struggle with controlling their selves because self control is embedded in discipline. This is what gives the restrain and help their mind to continually keep them in check, when they are discipline, they basically control how much they participate in gambling without supervision because they have discipline, this way they will be able to see gambling strictly for entertainment and leisure and as such they almost don't get addicted because they are able to control their selves well enough not to get to the point of addiction.
The attitude of the gamblers is clearly changing their behavior because gambling will not change and will always tempt gamblers to continue gambling without stopping. Gambling will provide very attractive offers or promotions to attract more gamblers to try to get them. This is where we have to be responsible with our gambling activities so that we don't gamble excessively and can still be aware that we won't always be able to win from gambling.

Discipline is needed when gambling to prevent large losses, and with the addition of good self-control, they will not lose a lot of money and can also control themselves while gambling. With discipline and self-control, they can manage the use of their money and also know when they can stop gambling so that they will not experience large losses. But most gamblers don't pay attention to this problem and continue gambling until they lose a lot. Maybe they also won't realize that they have little money left because they enjoy gambling so much that they forget to pay attention to the remaining amount of money.

~snip~
yes that's right, I have a friend who doesn't know gambling with his life who always looks well off, but he changed after getting to know gambling. where he experienced changes in his attitude and changes in his economy, which initially he was a well-behaved person who didn't like to get angry and was also a pleasant person now he turned into a person who was easily emotional even if it was a small problem but could make him emotional, maybe because of the impact of gambling which can change a person's mindset and psychology becomes chaotic. also from his economy, which initially he was well off now he sells a lot of his goods just to fulfill his gambling desires.

also from his economy, which initially he was well-off now he sells a lot of his goods just to fulfill his gambling desires, and this is an example of the harmful effects of gambling if we don't have limits on gambling. not only harming yourself can even harm others such as the destruction of the harmony of family relationships, where previously harmonious family relationships turned into always fighting just because one person was addicted to gambling. So it's best to have limits in gambling so that nothing happens that you don't want. and gamble reasonably not to excess.
Gambling can change a person from initially having good self-control and not liking gambling to gambling too often and using a lot of money in gambling. That's what makes them lose their money little by little and eventually lose all their money until they become bankrupt. They should be able to know when they have experienced a lot of defeat and be able to stop themselves and check whether there has been a change in themselves or whether everything is still fine. But with the defeat they experienced, it was clear that something had changed for them, and they had to immediately ask for help from others before things changed for the worse.

And it is true that gambling too often can cause him to lose a lot of money, and that is indeed a bad example of someone who cannot control himself when gambling. We have to be able to prevent this from happening to us so that we don't sell our personal belongings to gamble. Apart from that, if someone becomes addicted to gambling, a person can have bad relationships with other people around him, and this is difficult to repair. Maybe they should immediately find a way to overcome their gambling addiction problem because otherwise, they will not be able to get out of gambling and will get deeper into gambling.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: December 12, 2023, 01:27:26 PM
~snip~
In several countries, the economic crisis and low incomes have made people try various ways to get additional income and they are looking for easy and instant places to use to make money, one of which is gambling.
They work part time with payments that are just enough to meet their living needs but have to give up some of the money to gamble with the aim of winning.
They know money is hard to get and is really valuable but they also realize they have to have additional income and use some money to gamble, but unfortunately this choice is wrong and leads them into more difficult conditions.
For those of us who already have lot of experience in gambling, we definitely know and realize that winning when gambling has very small chance and losses are always possible, so we can say that gambling is not place to make money.
But for them, people out there have different thoughts because usually they are interested in gambling because they see broadcasts of gambling sessions carried out by several streamers who have managed to get big wins more often and they try to do the same thing.
So far it is still difficult to provide understanding and also emulate the correct approach to gambling because they believe more in what they see so they will realize when they have felt what is called destruction.
If they want to find additional income, they should look elsewhere and not expect to earn income from gambling because it will not always work. They may experience a lot of losses and will not be able to provide the winnings they are looking for, let alone make money to supplement their income. If they already have an extra job, they don't need to go to the casino in the hope of getting extra money from gambling because that will only waste their money, and they will have difficulty making money. They must understand that gambling is not designed to provide them with income, so they should not think that gambling can provide additional income. Those who have gambled and are experienced know that they will not be able to win too often, let alone make gambling a job or make money. Instead of losing or even running out of money, they should focus on finding additional income by working elsewhere. If they have succeeded in getting additional salary from their additional work, they can use it to increase the amount of income for their expenses and savings.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 11, 2023, 04:36:54 PM
1. How much bankroll can you afford to start with?
$10 will be okay for me to start betting on sports betting.

2. With your bankroll, how much expected profit do you anticipate in a year?
I don't know because I don't chase the profit.

3. Will you be content with your profit? If not, have you considered increasing your bankroll, even if you cannot afford it?
It is hard to increase my profit on sports betting because I think it needs more skills to win many matches. But I am happy with any profits that I can win.

We all seem to be waiting for the next dopamine rush like we had a slot machine in our pockets. Memes about being glued to our screens make us laugh, but here we are, powerless to the draw of virtual green felt tables. It combines elements of tragedy and comedy. Our dependable companions, smartphones, have become catalysts for our most primal desires. It's like having a sneaky friend who says, "Just one more game," and we follow along like naive idiots

This goes beyond just making light of our infatuation with screens. Isn't that a wake-up call? We're looking into a chasm where it gets harder to distinguish between safe entertainment and irresponsible gaming. Our phones, those elegant doors leading to a world of nonstop entertainment, have turned into Pandora's boxes. With a simple tap, we can release a variety of tempting contents from them. Yes, it is our responsibility to resist, but let's not delude ourselves—it is an enormous undertaking. After all, our natural tendency is to seek pleasure. The question is, will we allow these little casinos to control us or will we have the fortitude to use them responsibly?
One more game, and it turns out that's what makes us lose all the money. It is commonplace for many gamblers. They cannot restrain their greed from gambling and want more wins. It is following their lust to get more wins that put them on the verge of ruin, which could really make them lose all their money and become bankrupt. They never think that they will go bankrupt because of gambling because they want to get pleasure from gambling. But the reality is that they only experience more and more losses.

Underestimating what is happening and not paying attention to it will only lead them to their destruction, which could happen at any time. They will no longer be able to see gambling as entertainment but only as a place to make money, so they will continue to try it without stopping gambling. Moreover, using smartphones to gamble makes us gamble more often, and many people are even addicted to gambling, so they can't control themselves. Problem after problem will come to them, and that's where the destruction will begin. When it really starts, they can't stop it unless they have a strong will to stop gambling and cure their gambling addiction. We often advise novice gamblers to be careful with gambling games and not let them stay gambling for too long. Otherwise, they will have problem after problem that they will not be able to overcome without help from others.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 11, 2023, 02:53:47 PM
1. Have a amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.

2. Choose your favourite day in a week for gambling.

3. Have a time count down when gambling, to avoid spending too much time.

Go back home or close your laptop once your time is up, and wait for the coming day, go back to your daily life and business, chase your goals using your business and invest more money on assets.

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

By having a limit on the amount of money for gambling, gamblers should be able to control their gambling so that it is not excessive and can adjust the allocation of funds needed for gambling. He does not need to deposit more money if he suffers a loss and loses all his gambling funds for the week. But most people won't understand and instead deposit more money so they can continue gambling and try to win.

He can choose his favourite day to gamble, but usually when he is tempted to gamble longer, he can change it all and will gamble almost every day. This will affect the allocation of funds he has prepared for gambling, which could require even more money.

But if he can limit his gambling time and money, he may still be able to maintain his gambling and even enjoy it. But only a small number of people can do it, while others will lose control of their gambling.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: December 11, 2023, 02:25:57 PM
Yes, I agree with @OP, who said that stopping for a moment, reflecting on our mistakes or sharing them with others to find solutions to the problems we face can reduce the burden we feel in gambling. It can also help us to reduce our gambling activities, which may still be gambling very often so that by taking a break, we can think about how we can continue gambling but not experience any problems. We can still do other things well. But it will not be easy for a problem gambler to stop, even if it is slowly because he needs to realize that he has gone too far in gambling. If he can realize his mistake, he can start consulting with other people to find a solution. But if not, he will not be able to reduce his gambling addiction, and it could even become worse than before.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one you are good at? on: December 11, 2023, 02:09:52 PM
I prefer to manage my money so that I don't lose a lot, and so far, it has gone well. I can also avoid losing a lot by limiting my money so that I can control how much money I use for gambling. And so far, I am still fine with using the money for gambling and not disturbing other fund allocations. Even though I still rarely win, that's okay because I think it's only a matter of time before I can win. So I will continue to gamble with limits on money and time to remain in control of myself and control everything well so that I can avoid any problems or gambling addiction problems.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sympathetic gamblers looses itself on: December 11, 2023, 01:40:10 PM
The compassionate gambler loses themselves this is right because there are many gamblers who become so addicted that they can't stop themselves knowing the harmful side of it so at some point they lose everything and live a life of despair. It is foolish to control your emotions in gambling and expect to win even if you suffer losses. Also they keep running after the victory no one can give the exact news of when the victory will be here. People with gambling addiction often overthink gambling they can constantly plan their next gambling session. Therefore if the probability of losing is high it is better to proceed with rest for a few days in which case the probability of losing gamblers will be reduced a lot.
This is true and has been experienced by many gamblers who lose control of themselves in gambling, so they experience despair in gambling and end up losing a lot of money, especially if they chase their winnings. Those who know that there are gamblers who have lost a lot do feel sadness and sympathize with the gambler, but if the gambler doesn't try to change what he has done, people won't care anymore. They will allow gamblers who don't want to wake themselves up from their gambling addiction so that people will only look at them until the gambler asks them for help. That is why gamblers who have lost a few dollars should immediately take a break for a few days so that they can recover their emotions and relieve their tension after receiving everything they have experienced from gambling.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First winning can be a trap on: December 11, 2023, 01:09:18 PM
in fact this is a mistake made by most newbies because in their excitement of winning, they end up not realizing that they have become lulled with the game. we cannot say that one should avoid it because most gamblers have been in that position, where they were blinded by their first win and played on without considering their money. and that's normal considering that they are newbies and have little experience with gambling so they don't take this into account. the most important thing is how they can learn from experience and not repeat those mistakes.
The wins that novice gamblers often get will make them return to gambling after a few days. They will always remember their win, making them want to repeat it by gambling. But their wishes will not always match reality because in the second gambling game, maybe they will experience a total loss, which will waste all their money, making them want to go back to gambling again. If they don't have good self-control, they will only be more tempted to gamble more often. And at that time, they will also experience a loss of money, which may be even more. They should not think too much about their winnings at the start of their gambling. They should think of it as a bonus and not gamble too often. They also need to avoid the temptation of casinos that will provide lots of attractive promotions so that they don't lose a lot of money and also don't experience other problems.

I am yet to start out fully into sports betting based on some of the things I have read out it on this forum. I have enjoyed reading the comments from this thread and even though I am not the OP, I have gotten some great ideas.

People's worst experiences over shadows their best experiences and it is scary for me. I am now thinking that I would have to wait until have the holidays to try out sports betting since I didn't budget for it this month. Hope to share my exp
If you haven't yet fully gambled, you should think about it further because, with the many comments you read on this forum, you should already have an idea of what you will face when you decide to gamble. We often underestimate the things we read, so we don't pay more attention to these things, and in the end, we end up having bad experiences.

You have to remember that gambling is entertainment, and you don't need to gamble too seriously. Don't chase winning because it will be difficult. You also need to have good self-control and continue to practice it so that you don't lose self-control when gambling. You still have a lot to learn, and you will get that along with your journey in gambling.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 11, 2023, 11:48:57 AM
I think that gambling affects behavioral change because when a person becomes addicted he is not in control but able to do anything to win. Gambling addiction can have a profound effect on individuals causing significant problems in various areas of their lives problem gambling is a complex condition that goes beyond mere self-control it is not a matter of weak will or lack of discipline. Problem gambling is recognized as a behavioral addiction. Leads to negative consequences in life. This sometimes goes beyond gambling and becomes a chronic problem that affects their overall well being. But those gamblers who can control their emotions easily have little change in their behavior if they do not tell anyone no one will understand easily.
Gambling really changes a person's behaviour from the moment he gets to know how to gamble until he actually changes. If he initially had self-control, after becoming acquainted with gambling, his self-control would slowly disappear until, eventually, he would have no self-control. A person who decides to gamble must emphasize self-control and self-discipline so as not to experience the problems that gambling can cause. And this will clearly affect his psychology and mentality, especially if he gambles more often because he wants to win. But if gamblers can continue to practice controlling themselves and not be tempted by anything in gambling, they will really use gambling as they should and will not experience gambling addiction.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: December 11, 2023, 11:24:46 AM
Exactly. Some crypto casinos I think has options to convert to other coins like Doge, Dash or other crypto that has a lesser transaction fee than Bitcoin. Not only online casino gamblers suffer this kind of thing but also traders. I don't think gamblers mind the fees, they maybe thinking of something like winning or some kind of strategy to beat the odds. 😁
Converting bitcoin to other coins is a solution so that gamblers can continue gambling and don't have to think about high transaction fees. By using other coins, they can save on transaction costs, and they can immediately gamble with coins. Big gamblers won't really mind the cost, but for those of us who are just small gamblers, we will choose to use other coins to gamble. I also use other coins like TRX, LTC, or even USDT because of their low transaction fees. But to respond to this situation of high transaction costs, I prefer to take a break from gambling and enjoy my free time by doing other things until the transaction costs decrease and return to normal.
