921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful of 1337 coin (pump n dump or worse) on: October 17, 2017, 11:57:59 PM
Execuse me, but this is shitcoin! Why bother to consider them seriously?

Yes that true! but maybe he just build awareness of this kind of shitcoin in order other people avoid to being scam, anyway thanks for this info and your research its really appreciated.

Indeed, nice catch to warn people; do not buy shitcoins or you may ended as looser, give your funds to them who manipulate the prices in the trading market. It's not worth at all to invest in shitcoins, don't bother to learn about it, if you want to invest or trade some coins, choose some potential and most famous coins in the market such as ethereum, dash, zcash, byteball, monero, bitconnect, and so on.
922  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-17] Brazil Central Bank Chief Compares Bitcoin to Pyramid Scheme on: October 17, 2017, 11:38:12 PM
It is a biased opinion from Central Bank Chief, and most banksters may see it as pyramid scheme or bubbles, but the truth speak another.
Bitcoin still gaining value and consider to increase over time instead of loosing its value, what makes it survive is people who believe in it and prefer to use bitcoin instead of banks systems. People will buy his words? Of course not, incompetent person in blockchain or bitcoin trying to spread FUDs about bibtcoin in the future, just like Jamie Dimon did but his company buy bitcoin at the dips, untrusted person obviously.
923  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to choose good coin!? on: October 17, 2017, 10:53:53 PM
It's different between new coin and famous coins such as ethereum, dash and monero. If you want to invest in potential coins, don't worry to invest in those potential coins as it has been proven reach certain price, as long as you don't buy it at the peak. But, if you're looking for cheaper coins, it will be more tricky, the criteria has been mentioned above such as devs team, idea of those coins, road map, and how it will be developed in the market for long term. The problem is, there is no guarantee if those coins could rise instead of dumped after listed on trading platforms, you have to be patient and waiting for months after buy new coins on pre-sale or ICO.
924  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price will go down? on: October 15, 2017, 11:59:44 PM
If people buying bitcoin because they are expecting free bitcoin gold, which mean btg will be dumped after it listed on exchanges and trading platform, but not bitcoin. Normally, bitcoin price will get corrected if its increase over 10% in a day and occurs in several days. But, as long as bitcoin price increase slowly, it may reach new ATH and keep rising until it reach at least $6500 as safe point to extract profits.

926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Korea To Tax Bitcoin Use on: October 15, 2017, 11:17:06 PM
Quote
South Korea is preparing to tax bitcoin use after the cryptocurrency’s trading volume skyrocketed past that of Kosdaq. Han Seung-hee, the commissioner of the country’s National Tax Service, told lawmakers this weekend that the issue of how to best tax cryptocurrencies is being discussed, including the areas of capital gains tax, the VAT, and gift tax.
https://news.bitcoin.com/south-korea-tax-bitcoin-use/

Government can't let capital gains without taxes after bitcoin surpass Kosdaq, soon or later people should pay taxes from every single profit they get.
But, hopefully South Korea's NTS do not implement same regulations which issued by IRS in USA, or people will use bitcoin under the radar and will not reporting their savings in bitcoin.
927  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New app - Shop with Bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 10:52:02 PM
I developed a new app called NoFiat (https://no-fiat.com). It allows users to choose their cryptocurrency and browse stores that accept this currency. It also allows users to compare exchanges buy & sell prices in real time.

The app is free and has no ads or donation option.

Play store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.cordova.myappd3e790
App store link: Still being verified by Apple

I'm looking for new ideas and features, do you guys have any thoughts of what to put in there?

This has too small of a target market and there is no need for it. The information is available too easy form other places and there is no need to go to yet another app or site and involve it in the mix. This may have been useful in the past, two years back, but now it is redundant and not needed at all.

Indeed, that's what I am aware of. This app isn't really useful if just showing some sites or merchants, but after you click it have to use browser and refers to its site. And the biggest problem is, those merchants located somewhere across the world. If people want to purchase something, will be easier  just googling and find some merchants nearby in your hometown or at least in your country.
928  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC to 7k before fork? on: October 14, 2017, 11:00:45 PM
Do you think we can go beyond 7k before hardfork? Smiley
No, that is too high especially if consider the fact that bitcoin gold is not really that big, bitcoin cash was a lot bigger and it had some small support from some community members while bitcoin cash does not seem to have any support at all so I think we are going to see 6k at best.

Indeed, $7K seems too much for now as bitcoin barely can't break $6K so far.
There are few days, maybe 11 days left before BTG hard fork, people want to get btg air drop which encourage them to invest in bitcoin.
The best price I can imagine until October 25 is $6300, just maybe. We don't want bitcoin get corrected in the near future, so it's better to see the price slowly increase instead of Bulls run and rise $1000 within a week.
929  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-14] World Bank President: Everyone Is Excited About Blockchain on: October 14, 2017, 10:05:41 PM
The World Bank – a financial institution that lends money to national governments – is no stranger to blockchain. It launched a blockchain development laboratory this past summer, and has supported research projects that seek to apply the tech in areas like capital formation.
Whoever behind this bank are the most richest people in the world, but still in the shadow to keep their wealth secrets. Everyone that live in a country which has debt to World bank can consider bear the burden of debt as well.
I don't think they like bitcoin or any other decentralized cryptocurrency as they are the one who control the world's finances, even though they've planned to create their own version of blockchain, bitcoin still ahead and unbeatable by their fiat money.
930  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bicoin gold on: October 14, 2017, 09:35:06 PM
How many gold will i get ,somewhere i read 1:10 but i think it is too much

you will get 1:1 this is not a coinswap or exchange
if you have 1 bitcoin you will get 1 bitcoin gold

now i guess what you were reading but failed to understand that bitcoin gold will probably have 1:10 value of the bitcoin.

People are expecting for free bitcoin gold in order to get free money again, the history of Bcash dumped will be repeated again.
The first thing I've read about BTG will be sold through an ICO, but they have cancelled it due to market reaction about it, now I've read this:
Bitcoin Gold will only affect you if you own Bitcoin when they pick the hard fork block, that is, around October 25. You will receive the exact amount of Bitcoin Gold as Bitcoin you hold at that block.
They are planning strong replay protection, so you probably won’t have to worry about replay attacks. However, you will most likely need to download a wallet or construct transactions manually to be able to move your Bitcoin Gold tokens.
https://bitcointechtalk.com/bitcoin-gold-what-you-need-to-know-8b3e645be409
I don't how it will be, but as long as you have private keys or can export it, your BTG will be there in time, just have to download compatible wallet for BTG, I'm wondering if there is an Ann thread from BTG devs?
931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price ath on: October 13, 2017, 01:11:28 AM
Bitcoin has passed $5,300, this is because of upcoming hard fork, many are buying bitcoin because of free Bitcoin gold.

There is any official statement of free BTG?
as far as I know, BTG will be hardfork from bitcoin nodes but will be sold through an ICO, it just another altcoin but it's not free I guess.
Once more, you may want to read this; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2133536.0
it will be sold to ico investor.
1BTC=10BTG.
this ICO will help BTG chain the longest Bitcoin blockchain.
all rised BTC will used to hire developors, advertisement, etc.

So, I don't think people buying bitcoin due to expecting free BTG, but it simply the time to invest in bitcoin and people just follow the flow of the market before correction occur.
932  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Start Mining From Your Browser - And Get Paid Via Faucethub on: October 12, 2017, 11:59:20 PM
It's also not profitable to do faucets, but people tend to spend their day doing captchas for cents - even if it's not worth the eletricity. This kind of web mining is just an extra "income" for those that just want a few satoshis just by letting their PC idling without having to do any investment or hard work. There's a user base for everything.

For newbies, yes they may give it a shot but as Op said only valid until 10/17/2017, then it will be fine.
Browser mining or faucets aren't worth for us (at least), but some newbies will always intrigue to do it for a while until they figure it out, that it's wasting time. Same thing goes on browser mining, ads will give more money for the owners if accidentally clicked by participants.

934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto Currency Youtubers on: October 12, 2017, 02:33:34 AM
I am going to be launching a Youtube channel surrounding crypto currency soon. ( I am preparing some videos now, targeting new users )
I have not added any videos though or done any customization's. I will however update this when I am ready to add content

It will be better if you already have some videos about cryptocurrency before created Ann thread about your channel.
First impression is the most important thing to attracted more viewers, however, it's not easy though due to there are a lot of crypto-relate channels out there with great contents about crypto development. Try to make some unique and informative videos, especially for bitcoin and ethereum obviously, as the most famous cryptocurrency.
935  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-09] Bitcoin Price is Hitting Above $4,500 Again on: October 10, 2017, 03:52:08 AM
Bitcoin price is struggling to break $5000 wall and seems fluctuate within $4780-$4800 marks, but it may reach $5K soon or later, today or tomorrow.
Bitcoin price crashed last month due to FUD news from banksters which takes advantage of the "China ban" moment, but apparently they were bought bitcoin in the dips as well. Significant effect of China regulations was ended, bitcoin seems back to the normal trading volume. And China will likely allows cryptocurrency trading in licensed exchanges https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/china-will-likely-resume-cryptocurrency-trading-by-licensing-bitcoin-exchanges/ But OKCoin and Huobi still operate until today with high trading volume compare to other exchanges across the world, literally; China never ban bitcoin or exchanges.
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash is probably dying on: October 10, 2017, 03:38:18 AM
Bitcoin Cash was, from the moment it came out, dead on arrival.
8MB blocks are bound to render running a full node impossible. This has been known from the start and these events now don't help at all.

Bitcoin cash was not dead on arrival, it even had chance to reach over $1000 which is profitable for Bcash holders including myself.
Bcash seems dying in September, after second resurrection to $900, but then get dumped until today. People may not interested to bcash due to bitcoin nodes has implemented segwit which make bitcoin transaction better with low fees without have to increase block size limit.
Consider Bcash as new players in cryptocurrency market but has higher price than ethereum, it may still has probability to increase at certain point after bitcoin price fall down just in case it get corrected after reach new ATH, but I doubt bcash could reach over $1000 again.
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin on: October 10, 2017, 03:20:26 AM
Hi, I am thinking about investing in Bitcoin and Litecoin and would appreciate some opinions.

I prefer to recommend invest in litecoin and ethereum since both coins prices seems fall down and both of it has good potential to rise in the next 2-3 months. Why not in bitcoin? Because bitcoin on its rise right now, recover to $5000 which may get corrected after it reach new ATH.
Don't get me wrong, bitcoin is a great investment, but your money will be more profitable if invested into altcoins instead of bitcoin at current market condition.
938  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis Mining after Fork on: October 10, 2017, 03:01:31 AM
One of the scenarios I have heard about after this fork business, will be that much of the hashrate will migrate to the new 2x chain.
I am not sure about it, because there are two different information about 2x chain, but there are 95% mining pool support for segwit2x https://coin.dance/blocks, doesn't mean bitcoin hashrate will migrate to new chain.

My question is, will this make the difficulty for my contracted hash power go down, thus yielding me more BTC for a short duration, or until the market decides which bitcoin is the true king?
No, it won't be, your hash power will remain the same, if your question refers to mining difficulty decrease; still have no clue about that as the miners will decide to move forward to mine new chain or not. But, I believe the market already decided which is the king right now, even after hard fork, bitcoin still the king of cryptos.

Also, recently I have gotten a lesser decimal amount per day from Genesis, interestingly since around the same time that BTC has been on its rally. Is this because of a change in difficulty or is it compensating for the increase in BTC price?
More hashrate into bitcoin mining industry mean difficulty increases, since genesis mining gain more investors, more pockets to be paid and the results of bitcoin mining remains the same, cause less profits to be shared.
939  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pricing over 4K ,thinking about buying on: October 10, 2017, 02:42:49 AM
A bit frustrated. I had a deal to get some from someone on localbitcoins yesterday and it would have been 3600.  As the time approached he informed me he sold them all to a "whale" and id have to wait until today.  Cry  Now his price is 4200 ........

The answer for your situation is; the longer you wait, then bitcoin price will increase even further. If you bought BTC1 it at $3600, your investment already doubled right now. If you have to choose invest in gold or bitcoin, I will recommend both of it, but divide your funds 80% into bitcoin due to high interest of bitcoin over time compare with gold price. Bitcoin price constantly increase even though there will be always some dips, but in the end invest in bitcoin for long term will be worth instead of let it sits in your bank account.
940  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CoinCheckUp.com - Cryptocoin Analysis & Investment Stats on: October 10, 2017, 02:08:15 AM
Thanks for the kind words so far.

@TryNinja: indeed the Analysis tab shows all criteria, the actual score awarded per section and individual criterion, as well as the max score possible on each of the criteria. We plan to publish the full methodology as soon as possible for everyone to review.

What is the point of those scores?
First impression; it looks very similar to coinmarketcap, do you use their API system or so whatever which cause the same exchange rate? almost 99% showing exact same prices. I like your website design, but it takes few seconds longer to access it which is annoying for me, it's not my connection as I could access another site faster. However, I appreciate your efforts to develop another site which helpful for people in cryptocurrency environment.
