921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 27, 2022, 09:36:33 AM
I believe that Chet just had a freak accident and it wasn't even his first year at all, dude got injured during the summer. So if he goes to gym, gets buffed and gets better physique until next season, then he will be much more ready. What people do not understand is that the difference between college and NBA help is a lot, and I mean like driving a regular car vs being on a rocket ship type of difference.

I am not saying he could have Giannis levels of difference, but I am sure he will get a bit more buff, just a bit. That's why I believe that we should be waiting for 2023-2024 season to start and he will look a lot more different and be a lot better.

But the experience he could've gained from this upcoming season would be a big help for his personal growth especially since he is expected to be in the center with the likes of Giannis and Embiid, I bet he is now regretting the injury he acquired as not worth it at all and it cost him not to play for a whole season in the NBA.

But yeah, things happen for a reason and Chet should just use this free time he got to train more and get buffed by training with weights. That could be a big help too.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Take This 2 Minutes Nine Step Quiz To Access Yourself In Gambling on: August 27, 2022, 07:44:23 AM
Have you assessed yourself on what kind of gamblers are you, this quiz which is a 2-minute nine-step quiz that will assess you on what kind of gamblers are you...
I like this, I just did my own assessment and it turns out that I am a moderate risk gambler.

Most of my answers fell under "never" and "sometimes", it is not like I have not always known that I was a moderate gambler, but I have never asked myself some of the questions that this test provided. I encourage everyone here to try it and be certain for themself the category they fall under.

Same here, I got the same result and I really do think that if we answer more on sometimes than never then I guess that would really give us the same exact result of being a moderate-risk kind of gambler. Although, I really thought I will have the result of being a non-problem gambler because I rarely gamble at all and I'd like to say that I gamble once or twice only per quarter of the year or occasionally.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 26, 2022, 05:59:03 PM
Anyway, Jerwin already have some knowledge now how to counter Martinez's punches or even outmatch the latter. Let's just hope too that Jerwin wouldn't experience the same situation he was in on their first encounter because I heard that he was struggling to make the required weight.

Hopefully, Jerwin won't slack this time since he doesn't have any more reason why he will lose a fight.  I bet Ancajas will be fully prepared this time.  I believe Ancajas underestimated Martinez in their first fight since Martinez is just a replacement but surprised him that Martinez is a tough opponent and even beat him in speed.  But first thing first, I hope Jerwin won't have any problem on their weigh-in.

You got some point because mostly, the replacement is not actually within the same caliber as the original fighter but there are also some times that their foes were shocked as well as the public because the replacement is not someone to be underestimated and ultimately they lost the fight just like Manny Pacquiao, Figueroa and Ancajas.

I sure do hope that Ancajas will come prepared this time and solve his issues in the weight because this fight is his ticket to fight Ioka next.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Employers Screen Applicants for Problem Gambling Before Employment? on: August 26, 2022, 05:31:54 PM
I don't like that idea. It's a clear violation of our privacy. It's unethical for me to ask that question to their applicants and used that as basis if they will accept that person or not. What if that person properly passed the initial interview that leads them to be qualify at the final interview.

If that question is being asked, these employers are already judging the book by its cover.

Refer to their performance later on, if they are not doing their properly their work, then take an action.

That's the reason there's a probation period for around 3-5 months at most, before upgrading the employee into regular status.

I agree, it's exactly wrong to ask applicants that type of question because definitely it has nothing to do with the job that they are trying to apply. Hence, if they passed all the interviews and they look fit for the job then they still needed to undergo a provisionary role (maximum of 6 months) first to see if he or she really fits to do the job before handing them the exact contract.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: August 26, 2022, 04:35:19 PM
I think it will be more entertaining to see if it's Zurdo vs Beterbiev fighting for an undisputed fight. But before that, I'd like to watch how would Bivol defend his belt here.

From my own point of view, either Dmitry Bivol or Zurdo Ramirez will be a good match for Beterbiev for the undisputed champion in the Light Heavyweight division and surely entertaining to watch. Both boxers have good credentials and lurking in this division for a long making them truly ripe to challenge Beterbiev.

But since there's politics as always in the business of boxing, I just wonder what if Bivol is able to defend his belt in this match.

Will Arum now finally open for a Beterbiev-Bivol fight?

It's not making sense not to have that fight between Beterbiev and Bivol push through when the latter is doing a winning streak defending his title.

Fortunately, yes, Bob Arum openly said that he's going to let Beterbiev have its chance to claim all 4 belts and fight whoever wins in the Bivol-Zurdo fight. I'm quite shocked about this news too because we know that Bob Arum doesn't grant this type of fight because he is protecting his boxer at all cost but maybe he realized that at this point Beterbiev needs to have his chance because he is already 37 years old.

Quote
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says he’ll give unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev to fight for the undisputed championship against the winner of the Dmitry Bivol vs. Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez fight.

Media reporting now that Durant has reached an agreement with Nets management and will be playing for the Brooklyn Nets this year. I imagine that means Kyrie is staying also so no LeBron Kyrie reunion. I think this is probably the best outcome for everyone, but I did want to see them stir up the league. Should be fun to watch anyway. Two more months…

It's funny to see how quickly Durant changes his mind. Let me remind you that he tried to put an ultimatum to the Nets' owner a couple of weeks ago, and now they somehow managed to reach some kind of agreement. Honestly, I think Durant has been acting a little weird this offseason, and he definitely deserves to get some boos from Nets fans during the first home game of the upcoming season. Smiley

Mind you, he will definitely be going to receive a lot of boos from the Nets fans for that egoistic action after all the Nets had done to him, especially that ultimatum, that was a risky move that by now he already realized that it was a huge mistake making Joe Tsai choose. He definitely thought hard after that action he made because he might have that contract as his last without re-sign as there's a chance that there's no team in the league that would want him.

Perhaps, but if he can turn the team around this year, for sure fans will forget everything. Similar to Lebron when he left the Cavs,  we know what the flash mob did, burning his jerseys in the street of Cleveland. And when he comes back and play for the first time there are boos. But when he brought the city a championship, everyone forget about it. So I'm thinking the same scenario for Durant here, that is if he plays good this season as if the whole saga didn't happen.

We know he cannot do that, Durant ain't like Lebron who is capable and proven to carry the team in his back towards the Finals and become a champion as well. Durant will have a hard time if he tries to do that especially now that their situation at the Nets is quite ugly because of the issues that was made by Durant but he still ends up wearing the same jersey because no team in the league can meet the Nets want.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu has no value and shouldn't be bought on: August 25, 2022, 06:48:35 PM
Shiba Inu or other meme coins seem to be just waiting for time to jump, if only relying on the community and motivating for buy and hold and expectations of 1000x profit in a short time then we must be vigilant, of course the risk is in our hands that make decisions.
That's true but in-line to the OP's post, Shiba Inu doesn't hold any value at all that's why it is classified as a memecoin. Therefore, buying these coins will just be a total waste of time as the rise and dumps of this coin is controlled by the whales and it's really hard to get along with its weather.

It is still encouraged to buy other altcoins in the market that is more profitable in the future and holds real value unlike Shiba Inue. But if you're that someone who would like to take some extra risk then I think this coin is exactly for you.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 25, 2022, 06:13:57 PM
The same situation with Ancajas because he originally prepared for a title defense fight against Kazuto Ioka but was replaced last minute by Fernando Martinez and Ancajas ultimately lost the title he held for quite a long time. These instances can't be predicted because the original boxer wanted to participate in the fight but an issue surfaced later on which resulted in a need for a substitute just like this time.

Even if there's no sudden replacement, Jerwin Ancajas might probably still lose that supposed original fight.

The reason is very clear and it was stated by his team. Ancajas is not in good shape because of his hard training to catch the required weight. That resulted in him not performing on his usual and Ioka might take that as an advantage.

As I read on some reports, that's the focus now of Ancajas camp as they are really preparing seriously to get a win on a rematch against Martinez.

It's all speculation though, so 50/50. But if you look at some fights that have their opponent replaced, there are fights that the replacement fighter won or not. Not sure what is the statistics though or if there is one in the internet.

Nevertheless for Jerwin and his camp, they should treat it as a learning experience, a learning curve that they need to overcome right now if Jerwin wanted to became a world champion again and chase more like Ioka in the future.

You're right, we can speculate all we want but that will still leaves us to the point where we can't know the answer because the fight didn't happen because of that Covid that's why Ioka had to give the spot for Martinez and ultimately, Ancajas lost the fight because of that sudden change.

Anyway, Jerwin already have some knowledge now how to counter Martinez's punches or even outmatch the latter. Let's just hope too that Jerwin wouldn't experience the same situation he was in on their first encounter because I heard that he was struggling to make the required weight.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: August 25, 2022, 05:50:40 PM
That's just a marketing play I suppose. It gives people the thought "wow they're the future" and gives them an illusion that Elon is interested in the same things they are interested in. Musk is just a good businessman. I don't think that he has a lot of time to study the crypto market and get involved in it.

He might not have the time but Elon has the space to accommodate Blockchain enthusiasts, I believe the doge coin he was Shilling some months ago may have not be his idea, someone may have suggested that for him, he doesn't have time for diggings or DYOR in details. Some of his comments on doge coin scales more than bitcoin proves that he doesn't no shit about bitcoin, he is just a man who employee good guys with big IQ and talent to run his business, that's exactly how he successfully run Tesla and the launch of spaceX, he doesn't know how that shit work, people work for him.

You should begin to be skeptical on what Elon was really doing when he was shilling dogecoin. He knew what he was doing. Also, he has divorced from 3 wives who might have gotten a large share of his assets. He will be needing some extra money hehehehe and do not underestimate human greed.

Also, Elon has a large following in social media and he loves to troll. How can he profit from this? Shill a coin traded in an unregulated market where the SEC cannot give him legal problems. Elon is a cold blooded profiteer.

He could just easily create his own coin or token and just shill it to his massive amount of followers on all media platforms if he was in the quest for profits.
But he is not and just only loathes the attention he garners from giving attention to anything he wants to.
And this inturn brings more attention and thus profits to his own companies.

So if he was to do anything with cryptocurrenies than it wouldn't be to make any money out of it.
He obviously has enough coming in from the other companies he owns.

He could've create his own coin easily, yes, but I think that won't garner any much support from the public and investors because his intentions would be too clear if he would do that as he is already known as a crypto whale. Might be good for him if he just keeps on trolling on what specific coin or token he is into, just like how vocal he is on what he is hodling currently. Other than that, who knows what is his true intentions Grin
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: August 25, 2022, 02:26:37 PM
The dip have been a big distraction to many young investors, many young investors think that they don't deserve a dip, but they don't have knowledge that the dip is as important as the bull , every dip comes with a bull. When I started investing bitcoin the dip was a distraction,  but when I got understanding of everything  I don't get panic in the dip.
So you say that old investors should deserve a dip? You should bare up into your mind that it doesnt matter whether you are new or old, young or old, you would definitely able to experience market dips and corrections because this is how this market works or simply this is an inevitable thing.Whether you are experienced or not you are prone to this.It does vary on what actions you would made basing up
with your knowledge and awareness into this market.Instead on freaking out whenever a market dip you should instead see this as an opportunity to buy cheap because
you could utilize these movements for your advantage because you could make profits with that.

Right! Market dips are unavoidable and it's a natural phenomenon that every cryptocurrency investor should know and understand that's why the price is moving in almost every blink of our eyes. Aside from that fact, if you're that someone that gets shocked about these phenomenon then I'm quite sure that you didn't had some research before investing to in it as you're only following the trend without knowing some things. But it's never been too late to equip yourself some knowledge so that you won't get shocked or curious about some happenings in the market.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Employers Screen Applicants for Problem Gambling Before Employment? on: August 24, 2022, 06:51:03 PM
I've applied for several jobs so far at different places and no one has asked me if I like gambling or anything like that. I only got questions about what my hobbies are and what I can do as other skills, it makes a lot more sense to me than anything else.

A trick question is what's bad about you, it's a gray question to tell them about all our bad behavior so far. So basically they don't ask if we gamble or not, but every company wants employees who are honest and well behaved both outside and in the workplace.

Same here, I've been through lots of interviews in the past years but I never came across some questions related to gambling or if I'm into any of these activities. There may be companies who will ask that upon the interview but I think that just rarely happen because the company is thinking that it is not any of their business as long as the employee if they passed the interview will uphold and do their jobs/tasks that was given to them in like a daily basis.

933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: August 24, 2022, 05:40:15 PM
Looking at the poll in this thread, it seems that they are siding with Bivol against Zurdo and I cannot blame them at all because Canelo Alvarez was once defeated by Bivol who was the undisputed champion in SMW and still in his prime. But folks, we cannot underestimate Zurdo here because he is much more flexible and has almost all the advantages needed like experience, height, and reach to defeat the champion.

I think it will be more entertaining to see if it's Zurdo vs Beterbiev fighting for an undisputed fight. But before that, I'd like to watch how would Bivol defend his belt here.

As expected, SMB is having a good start, if they will continue their dominance, then there's no doubt they will advance to the Finals. 6-20 is the current score, they could extend this lead if they will continue with their great defense and impressive offence.

Meralco still can't make a big run, 46-63, they need to play harder just to make the SMB lead down to a single digit.

Can't believe what I'm seeing, looks like we are having a boring game 7, as most game 7 are close games.
Anyway, good luck, seemed will be in the Finals with the way the game is going.

Final score 100-89. SMB beat Meralco by 11 points.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 15, 2022, 02:07:24 PM

I guess SMB will have to adjust their game, they can't just let Meralco takes over just like in game 6. Again, defense will be their key and I think they have the experience to do it, they just have to focus and concentrate on game 7. They can't let the Bolts snatch this series.

If the trend will continue, SMB is going to win in game 7. They wasted the opportunity to close the series in game 6, the big run of Meralco beat them, it cannot happen again in this do or die game for both teams.

That's where the excitement on PBA games is happening, who would expect that Meralco would win, they are a heavy underdog and yet they beat the SMB. I still like the chances of SMB in game 7, they are good in closing out games, but what I like more is the under as for sure it's gonna be a very defensive game.
Once you get to the semis you're no longer the underdog and winning 3 wins against SMB proves that Meralco is also a team to beat and going into game 7, the odds changes and this time many are willing to take risk to place their bet with Meralco. Game 6 is very convincing, Meralco did a great job and yes if SMB wants to be back in the finals they should adjust their strategy or else Meralco will beat them again and their effort will totally be wasted.

You have a point but it will not change the fact that SMB will always be listed as the favorite to win.

IIRC, the spread in game 6 was SMB -5.5, so if that would drop, maybe they will be the favorite by -3.5, but in the end, they are still listed as the favorite and the Meralco as the underdog.

Anyway, di pa naman tapos, just for fun lang, sa game 7 bet ko sa SMB.

So we are going to the Semi Finals.

TNT vs Magnolia

SMB vs Meralco.

Do we have our local betting here? I mean, a series bet would be good, especially for the TNT vs Magnolia series as both have even chance to win based on the betting odds. Anyone wants to organize?

We have our local bettings here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403342.0. Actually it is a prediction tournament by our very own @bisdak40.

Maybe you can follow that thread and probably tail some bets as well. Specially those in the leader boards as they really know the team that much.

That's another thing, it's a prediction thread, I want real betting. LOL.

It's Magnolia vs TNT, for sure we have plenty of fans here for both teams.
Maybe bisdak40 can organize this one while the semi-finals have not started yet, I heard it's a best of 7 series, so it will be more fun.

Hey mate, if you want to bet p2p please place your offer and let's see if there takers here as this series between Magnolia and TNT for is evenly matched but personally i'm not rooting either of these teams but if your offer is somewhat attractive maybe that could changed my mind  Grin.

Since there's no series betting in our bookies, then maybe this is the right venue to place our bet. hehe.

Kindly make an offer mate, who knows you can see a taker here.

BTW, SMB vs Meralco, who's betting on Meralco here?

How much we are talking here? Or how much they owe to you.?
Also, please be specific with the name of the website as we have lots of websites with similar names.

he cannot create a scam accusation mate because He admitted already that he had a mistake and there is a valid reason why the site banned Him and hold his money and this is the admission

Well, that would put an end to this discussion.  Cheesy
