That's just a marketing play I suppose. It gives people the thought "wow they're the future" and gives them an illusion that Elon is interested in the same things they are interested in. Musk is just a good businessman. I don't think that he has a lot of time to study the crypto market and get involved in it.
He might not have the time but Elon has the space to accommodate Blockchain enthusiasts, I believe the doge coin he was Shilling some months ago may have not be his idea, someone may have suggested that for him, he doesn't have time for diggings or DYOR in details. Some of his comments on doge coin scales more than bitcoin proves that he doesn't no shit about bitcoin, he is just a man who employee good guys with big IQ and talent to run his business, that's exactly how he successfully run Tesla and the launch of spaceX, he doesn't know how that shit work, people work for him. You should begin to be skeptical on what Elon was really doing when he was shilling dogecoin. He knew what he was doing. Also, he has divorced from 3 wives who might have gotten a large share of his assets. He will be needing some extra money hehehehe and do not underestimate human greed. Also, Elon has a large following in social media and he loves to troll. How can he profit from this? Shill a coin traded in an unregulated market where the SEC cannot give him legal problems. Elon is a cold blooded profiteer.

the running joke on twitter is:
stupid media (fox news and other crap news media) do not do any actual real reporting on real news events. instead they just glamourise whatever is trending/on twitter by using twitter as their news story sources.. without even bothering to validate if the tweets are real or jokes
many celebs are starting to do this. say silly things to see which silly news media outlet reports on the tweet.
some are also calling out all the crap news media where different stations read out the same story word for word. without any independent editorial checks

Yes he could, however, that might be within the legal jurisdiction of the SEC to charge him for selling and issuing illegal securities. Dogecoin is a cryptocoin issued through the utilization of proof of work. This is very much similar to bitcoin where the SEC cannot charge the issuers of the coin of the protocol. What would be his purpose for shilling dogecoin if it was not to make money out of it? I reckon everyone who is presently here in the cryptospace is here to make money out of it.

Yeah and some strong political motivations along with their morning cup of joe. Imagine what these crap news media stations would do if Musk actually did own twitter. He would be another Rupert Murdoch who owns Time warner, disney, etc etc. Controlling the narrative of countless households across America. -snip- Yes he could, however, that might be within the legal jurisdiction of the SEC to charge him for selling and issuing illegal securities. Thought most just say "They are in it for the dubs.." urg.. I mean The Technology. But all kidding aside, Isn't this exactly what the feds are now going after all exchanges for? They are suing Coinbase with insider trading with having these tokens listed on their exchange and having people who worked there trade them even before they were listed. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-27/crypto-traders-rattled-by-sec-scrutiny-of-coinbase-listed-tokensthis was for anyone buying these so-called securities from coinbase without even knowing it: https://blockworks.co/coinbase-hit-with-another-class-action-lawsuit-following-sec-allegations

I think he's in for crypto for a long term because he knows what crypto can offer at the long run, likewise he's in for the gains also, when he bought bitcoin we all know because he informed the whole world via his twitter account, when he sold at profit also we get to know a couple of months after from him indirectly and from a third party. I believe that a lot of people have get to know more about Tesla after promoting crypto few months ago. He's in for everything, the gain, the attention, to promote his Tesla and long term investment in crypto most especially dogecoin

Hard to believe that Elon is in for crypto, because I have seen him showing interest in crypto for a while. In fact, a lot of cryptocurrencies are back to pre Elon Musk crypto pump, at least Bitcoin has rolled back to where it was, since Elon started frequently naming it in his tweets. Did you know that recently Tesla has celebrated sales of 3 million cars around the world ? It will be easier for me to believe, that Elon has used cryptocurrency as a promotion of Tesla, than being in for crypto guy. No doubt that he is a technology guy, but he is a businessman on first place.

That's right, he's a businessman, that says it all. He has a wonderful talent to make money in absolutely any area where he sees an opportunity to do this, and this is what defines a good businessman. He has plenty of money and he does what he likes, in the case of crypto, I think that it started as a hobby for him, as some kind of entertainment, and it seems to me that he continues to behave as if it was just a game for him.

This is exactly what I meant "In it for the dubs!". He is in it for the gains of course. Whether that be for profit or just to put another feather in his cap for the cryptos. He is a showman. If you haven't seen that movie then that is exactly what he is. Purely in it for the exposure as he gets a rush being in the spotlight. Without it he would cease to be relevant in the media. Just another CEO behind a desk pulling the strings of his multimillion dollar companies.

Yeah you are right I've seen the movie shownman, exactly what he is doing, mainly in for the profit, I could remember when he made the move to buy twitter he was the talk of the whole world then, with such a huge amount of money to buy twitter, he got more famous with that, and twitter shares pumped, I'm very sure he would have longed and before the announcement, before he decided that he has no interest in buying again, he would have short also, that's pure manipulation, that's exactly what he did with bitcoin, sold at the peak of 70k after buying the dip

Watching the lately spot about Musk appearing on live tv this weekend for showing what all the hype is about and if he will actually have a mention of his favorite cryptocurrency doge, it seems the media are jumping all over this appearance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWWzszskgmAWhat are your thoughts about this North American appearance and what do you think he will do or say about doge or even bitcoin? I think since Miley Cyrus is the musical guest he will have her dress up as a dog and call her doge. She likes cats and had dressed up as them on stage during her concerts, so you never know what these two crazy people will do on this episode. Just another individual who wants to use his influence and make money out of it! Just like other prominent financial people who make negative comments for bitcoin but bought during the times they FUD! This is another proof that market is definitely somehow manipulated

So far he has emphasized how big the prospects are when investing in crypto, but he also asserts that he has never invited others to follow his steps to invest in crypto, even though Elon Musk has often tweeted that has an impact on crypto hype but he always reminds the risk there is, I personally see that Elon Musk is like an ordinary person who is just looking for profit in crypto, but because he is the richest person in the world, of course, influences others to follow him, even though we have realized that every investment what we do is our own responsibility regardless of who we follow.

Elon uses cryptos as capitalization tool, it's simple as that. He has the power to manipulate markets and he already prove it. And if he need cash for his projects he can sell he recently bumped coins Is a smart move, and is a way to capitalize big projects... No one say it was cheap or easy to create an electric car, or create space ships or artificial neural links. The money should come from some where, and not all comes from cryptos, this is just another income source.

I don't think Elon Musk has enough time between designing stuff at SpaceX/Tesla/Starlink/Boring Company/that neurallink or whetever its called, and media appearences to manipulate the market even rudimentarily.

Its financial strength can move these relative markets, so market manipulation is always possible by individuals or groups of deep-pocketed whales. It seemed easy how he created the hype, but things were different now. People are educated on losses, so we'll see the Elon Musk hype no longer strong enough to move the market any time soon.

He could just easily create his own coin or token and just shill it to his massive amount of followers on all media platforms if he was in the quest for profits. He could've create his own coin easily, yes, but I think that won't garner any much support from the public and investors because his intentions would be too clear if he would do that as he is already known as a crypto whale. Might be good for him if he just keeps on trolling on what specific coin or token he is into, just like how vocal he is on what he is hodling currently. Other than that, who knows what is his true intentions

this man clearly earned his popularity, because such people will not pump the DOGE coin so often, we don't know much, but we can definitely assume that he benefited from all this.
