9201  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-16] - BTC, ETH See Small Growth After Yesterday’s Fall To Monthly Lows on: March 16, 2018, 07:21:42 PM
To be honest, I'm quite surprise to see all major coins bounce back because before I take I nap, I saw bitcoin around $8200 so its a good sign that investors are finally pouring in cash in the market again. I think everyone really understands as to what is happening in the last 3 months (Mt. Gox trustee dumping) and they realized that there will be no significant dump up until September. And there was one positive news, Lightning Network goes live and with funding from big companies such as Twitter, Tesla and Space X. Although the G20 summit remains another critical factor, it could be until next week before we all know what's the common response will be. I hope that we still get a positive results from the meeting so that the price could at least test the 5 digits once more and see how it goes.
9202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New crypto business in Puerto Rico on: March 16, 2018, 12:02:48 PM
There was a earlier interview by CNBC to the governor of Puerto Rico last March and he believes that crypto is a game changer. And they have this new code called Act 22. I guess this aim to attract new investors to flock on country and invest money. I think they will be having what they called Puerto Crypto.

Quote
Puerto Rico is luring crypto entrepreneurs and investors thanks to an exemption within the Internal Revenue Code, called Act 22, that allows nonresidents of Puerto Rico to pay no taxes on their long-term capital gains.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/16/puerto-ricos-governor-is-bullish-on-blockchain-as-part-of-islands-comeback.html

Here's another interesting article from NY Times.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/02/technology/cryptocurrency-puerto-rico.html

So this is indeed another welcoming news for crypto's in general. When so much regulations going around, at least we have someone who understands what this so called disruptive technology can bring to the table.

9203  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Insuring crypto investments? on: March 16, 2018, 07:53:45 AM
Looking similar to this? (https://dehedge.com/)?

I think you have a good idea, but just like @audaciousbeing have said, crypto is a high risk investment, very volatile and I don't think that insurance company would cover everything because of this factors. And you need to understand that crypto is a virtual currency, and I don't think that traditional insurance company would understand how to "handle" such cases. Or in a insurance companies died cover it, I'm sure that there are very complex and just because you are covered doesn't mean that there are no limitations.
9204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Trend Panic Sell Mar-Apr 2018 on: March 16, 2018, 07:38:16 AM
I see btc currently trending between 8000-10000. Most of the gurus were unable to predict the value of btc and some of them told it will be similar trend in march and april, even some news i heard that btc will down upto 2000$. I dont know what should i do

Then don't do anything stupid that you are going to regret at the end? Thinking of selling of coins now? Nah. Instead, why don't you accumulate more in this bearish trend and hold on it for longer terms? You already said that those gurus was enable to predict the price of bitcoin, then why are you believing them that we are going on another similar trend for the next 2 months? Doesn't make sense to me. So just a advise, stay away from those so called gurus, just go with the flow, if you are seeing that the trend is going down, then relax, you don't need to panic. On the contrary look at the bright side of it, good buying points because bitcoin is so God damn cheap. Go buy in portions and you wouldn't notice that you have accumulated enough that in less than a year, your investments can double and even go even higher as you excepted.
9205  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: EKEN - Warning Cloud Mining Scam on: March 16, 2018, 07:28:47 AM
Is this the scam site? (https://eken.io/)?

I did look at the information and here's what I found:

Registrant Org   WhoisGuard, Inc.

Another red flag. Newly created domain, protected by WhoisGuard. Only contact so far is just an email as per website. So you are right, 99.99% that is going to scam investors and run off with their money. I really would advise anyone to stay at cloud mining sites, as most of them are not really legit.
9206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: South China morning post on ban on: March 16, 2018, 07:09:51 AM
The market is as of now down due to this as amid Chinese exchanging session bitcoin was really push down beneath surprising level and presently it is heading underneath $6,000. Bitcoin wouldn't stay bearish always and we would need confidence with cryptographic forms of money and like I have perused some place about what the author has said "government ought to fear us and not we perplexed of government".

Heading to $6000? As per coinmarketcap the current price is $8,240.75, with volumes around $6,047,630,000   and rising 4.37% in 24 hours so I don't know where you got your information that we are closer to $6000. As far as China is concern, we should totally forget about them. The only major influence they can give us is that they have the monopoly of mining farms and hardware. But Bitmain has already plans to moved out its bitcoin mining farm if the Chinese Government put the hammer ban. And if ever there's a negative impact from every news fake or not coming from them, it will short-lived because by now we need to understand that they are anti-crypto so it would make sense that they will release reports saying negative things about the cryptosphere. But there is nothing to worry about.
9207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Dropping, and Experts Can't Agree Why on: March 16, 2018, 06:57:57 AM
Ok. Looks like we can finally put to rest as to why bitcoin keeps on dropping for the last several months now. Who would have thought that the ghost of Mt. Gox is still haunting us till today. Mr. Kobayashi, the most hated man in the cryptoverse, is the culprit and him offloading huge amount of bitcoin is one of the major factors, besides FUD. Everyone, including the so called "expert" can't really pinpoint as what's causing the drop. But at least we all agree that we have found the suspect. So all arguments can be put to rest now, at least till September.
9208  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-15] Goldman-Backed Crypto Startup Circle to Hire 100 Employees, Expand on: March 16, 2018, 06:38:43 AM
Sounds good. It looks like they are really serious and overhauling the image of Poloniex because we all know that its one of the most hated exchanges right now. They see potential in making big money in crypto trading, but first they have to prove that they have what it takes so hiring 100 people to augment and handle day-to-day issues specially complaints and tickets unresolved in a welcoming news. Mostly the bulk of the issues is in Asia, no doubt as Japan and South Korea garner the biggest trading volumes per 24 hours. I just hope that they find the right people, otherwise if will be just a complete waste of money here. Hire competent individual who can response and react at a timely manner.
9209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congressman's statement on Bitcoiners. Right in the feelings. Hahaha. on: March 16, 2018, 06:30:20 AM
Read this quote from the congressional hearing on cryptocurrencies yesterday.

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/congressional-hearing-cryptocurrencies-devolves-bitcoin-204900246.html
Quote
"Cryptocurrencies are a crock," Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) said to kick off his opening remarks. "They allow a few dozen men in my district to sit in their pajamas all day and tell their wives they're going to be millionaires."

The good congressman didn't have to be so hurtful about it. I believe that statement has hit the nail on the head, has stabbed the dagger in the heart, has hit the grand slam, <put more idioms here>. Hahaha!

"Put the final nail in the coffin". LOL.

But to be honest, there's some semblance of truthfulness on the Rep. Sherman's statement. I mean how many of us, specially during the December frenzy thinks that we can all be millionaires? Who stay late at night, probably in pajamas in front of his computers staring at the price of bitcoin and hoping that it will go above $20,000? Exactly, almost all of us. So as the saying goes, "the truth hurts", specially as to what has happened after that faithful December rush. Unless we become strategic on investing our money, we, specially newbies can be burned or murdered and that dream of being millionaires is totally thrown out of the window.
9210  Economy / Economics / Re: Alternative investments on: March 16, 2018, 06:13:30 AM
Aside from bitcoin what do you think is one of the best alternative investments in the economy today?

Outside of crypto, I would say real state. Price of a property always appreciate, which means that its value increases overtime. I have bought 1 property in 2009, and in just a matter of 2-3 years, the price almost doubled. I'm so lucky that I have made the right investment that time. And just like bitcoin, its based on supply and demand. During that time there are only few of us who chooses to buy and get that place. However, the development started, schools, more housing, subdivisions around popping like mushrooms and even shopping malls. That drove the price of my property in that place doubled in short amount of time. So I must say that real property could be a good alternatives if you are looking for a long term investment outside of cryptosphere.
9211  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-15] Bloodbath for cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin sheds 10%, now down 40% on: March 15, 2018, 09:57:28 PM
With the recent sell-off of bitcoin by Mt. Gox trustee, binance "hack", then google banning cryptocurrency ads, it seems that FUD is never ending. Add to it the opinion of "experts" again valuing bitcoin as zero and so we are heading south. There is just so much FUD that may pose a sign that the bear market is almost over? We may wait for sometime but this bear market will come to an end and we will go back again to our happy days. For those that still have funds, this is a good time to accumulate more and for those who don't have any then just hold. I can see some people already selling and decided to totally leave the cryptocurrency world.

FUD will be here no matter what sentiments we are in. Its like a shadow that will follow us wherever we go. As for the Mt. Gox trustee offloading, he's just another factor and the rest are FUD. Binance already take the necessary steps before it goes out of hand, and now Goggle banning ads maybe also be another contributing factor. Yes, I wanted to see this bearish market came to and end, however, there is the G20 summit meeting about crypto regulations still up and we don't know how it will affect the market. Although I read that Lightning Network is already operation, but I'm not sure if this is true though. And I'm also seeing the market going green today, maybe we can see another push to $9000 or higher, so let see.
9212  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [FULLY FUNCTIONING] P2P Sports Betting Platform on: March 15, 2018, 09:06:20 PM
Hey, it looks like you are heading on the right direction. Its been what like a week ago when I was replying to your thread but now its already fully functioning. How about expanding and adding UFC or boxing matches?? Or offering bitcoin as well like what @buwaytress has suggested? I already see that you already added the March Madness though, good one!!! I still go with my suggestion that you should open a signature campaigns though, you have a good project and business, just needed more exposure specially to the gamblers around.
9213  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: MrGox trustee is behind all the scams on: March 15, 2018, 08:42:05 PM
MrGox trustee is behind all the scams
N1 He could never sell BTC for money without aproval from the original owners... Angry
N2 Why the fuck he sell bitcoin cash also?  Huh ( for shure it was not with good intencions bicouse wend peapol got hacked bitcoin cash dont exist yet )
N3 Why did he refuse kraken help to sell the funds without fucking the market ?  Lips sealed ( this sounds very fishy )
N4 Why the original owners did not yet recieve all their funds also?  Shocked (for shure he is trading with another peapol funds thats why the markets not stable )
N5 I dont believe on the right state of mind the tokyo court allow him to exchange 400 milion ( unless he have some connects inside )
N6 I really believe he knows everything about all the stolen exchanges in japan and also about the japan exchange CEO american guy found dead ( thats why they kill him ( erase evidence ) and this for me its enough reasons to believe MrGox hack was an inside job and now ( once again ) they have the funds blocked from original owners and even like that they are fucking the market ...

Initially it was reported that he started to dump bitcoin during the December frenzy so I speculate that he is one factor that contributed to the downfall of bitcoin since then. He is a trustee, so I think the can do anything with the coins he is holding. He needs to offload Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, because he need to pay the creditors. I don't think that he is stupid though, but maybe he is doing it in good faith however, his action really put a lot of pressure on the price. I understand where you coming from because we don't know what's going on. The price keeps dipping and it seems we can't take off. However, the damage has been done already. But the good news is that he can't just dump the remaining bitcoin he holds unless there is a court order. And the next court appearance is in September, so I don't expect any movement today up to September.

9215  Economy / Web Wallets / Jaxx Wallet and Bitcoin Wallet Security Issues on: March 15, 2018, 07:55:39 PM
According to Cheetah Mobile's blockchain research: (https://cryptovest.com/news/bitcoin-jaxx-wallets-have-security-issues-cheetah-mobile-warns/)

Quote
Bitcoin, Jaxx Wallets Have Security Issues, Cheetah Mobile Warns

The blockchain research division of Cheetah Mobile warned on Tuesday it had detected serious security weaknesses in two of the most commonly used mobile digital currency wallets - Bitcoin Wallet and Jaxx Blockchain Wallet.

Anyone heard about the security flaw on Jaxx and Bitcoin Wallet? Quiet surprise though the Jaxx still exist as there are problems with this wallet ever since. Just want to give a fair warning to those who still uses Jaxx to store their crypto coins. As I still some members still recommending it to newbies. Just be careful and until their is a fix, don't used this wallet as not to get compromise.
9216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shapeshift and Wallet Fees on: March 15, 2018, 07:44:10 PM
Can someone recommend a good wallet to hold LTC funds with no fees so I can eliminate the block.io fees.
I never used block.io but AFAIK, those fees are "network fees". Eliminating those will result in having a stuck transaction.

Few other options:

1. Coinomi
2. Jaxx
3. Electrum-LTC (I haven't tried it yet but according to this post, that's the correct link, make sure to verify it)

Is exodus.io a good wallet for this AND can I automatically do transfers with this like I do with block.io?
I'm an Exodus user myself and it's actually known for its excessive fees, so it's a bad option (for you).

I'm also a Exodus wallet user myself and its really good to used to hold your altcoins. But as what has @SFR10 that fees is exaggerated. What I do though is to manually used other exchange like (https://changelly.com/) instead of the built-in shapeshift in Exodus. As far as Jaxx though, it was reported that another vulnerabilities has been found (https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20180227005647/en/Cheetah-Mobile-Blockchain-Research-Lab-Issues-Security). So just be careful.
9217  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-15] Effects of Mt. Gox Trustee's $400 Mln Sale on Bitcoin Market on: March 15, 2018, 07:33:09 PM
I say that he is one of the factors. But it looks like its clear now, the ghost of the past still haunting us. LOL. But then again, he's either dumb or just really doing his job offloading the coins from who knows when he started in up to March of last week. But the latest news is that he needs some court order before he can offload anew and the next court appearance is in September, so its safe to assume that no dumping should occur from today up to that court hearing. But the damage has been done, and to add fuel to the already volatile market, the G20 meeting will be another contributing factor (either positive or negative). So another critical event we need to monitor and see how will affect us in the next couple of days.
9218  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Financial Professionals Bet On Rising Cryptos, UK Report on: March 15, 2018, 07:07:55 PM
The majority of the investors expect crypto valuations to rise over the next 12 months

Check out the article below👇

https://news.bitcoin.com/financial-professionals-bet-rising-cryptos-uk-report/

Well the reports says Financial Professionals so I wouldn't be surprise by the results of the survey. I'm pretty sure that most of them have already made their move on crypto last year and it only makes sense for them to want crypto to get to the next levels. Just try to survey those newbies who got invested at top price in December but got burned in the first month 3 month of this year and you will get a different response. LOL. So for me this survey is good, but doesn't add up to the total sentiments of the people around as we are in a bullish trend. But let's see. we still have 9 months to and a lot of things can happen.
9219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must remain grateful... on: March 15, 2018, 06:55:19 PM
today many people are complaining about the fall in bitcoin prices, for example when bitcoin prices drop from $15000 to $10000, this is probably a very painful thing for investors, I can also feel it. But you all should not go off and call that bitcoin is unreasonable, detrimental and even called that bitcoin starts to go extinct and fall, just imaginewhen bitcoin first appeared, it cost only $0.007, and now the price of bitcoin is 1000 times more than its original price .We should be grateful now the bitcoin price is in the range of $8000, so if the price drops $2000 you should not be sad, you must remember the time before, bitcoin price is only $0.007.

Those who are hurt seeing the price plummeted from $15000 to $10000 doesn't understand how the market works. They really think that the price could literally go on a parabolic line forever, but it isn't. And I speculate that they also got into bitcoin last December, during the height of its price surge and they are all burned by now because its price its price is just hovering around $8000 and might still go down in the next couple of days. That's why I always say that you don't need to expect something big to happen in the next couple of months so that we all not be disappoint if it doesn't happen.
9220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the geomagnetic storm influence the BTC price again March 18 ??? on: March 15, 2018, 06:48:25 PM
LOL. WTF. I don't see any correlation about some big magnetic waves influencing how people will do to their money. It might be a coincidence though, I'm as superstitious man, I admit it, but sometimes we need to draw the line here. If probably we have more data to back up the claim, but for now I'm totally inclined to see as it as form of "excuse" and the explanation as to what is going on the market or even the whole stocks as well. Perhaps is already engrain into our consciousness to look seek explanation beyond the stars and the galaxy. It would be interesting to note though, as this is the first time I have read and the theory behind it. I guess their nothing to lose and see how it goes in March 18 in the "cryptoverse".
