9221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2017, 01:21:18 PM
Stamps books look thin on both sides.   1000 BTC dump takes us down to the mid 800s, the same as a buy is way up in the mid 900s.

Which way, I have no idea - but it doesn't look that bullish to me.   Am all fiat on Stamp, waiting to see what happens.
Are you sure that you've updated your charts? Someone placed a wall at 900 right now:

Quote
Bitstamp | There are currently 4213.2586 bitcoins demanded at or over 800.0 USD, worth 3640500.55521 USD in total. | Data vintage: 49.0603 seconds
Bitstamp | There are currently 3327.3893 bitcoins offered at or under 1000.0 USD, worth 3202731.91053 USD in total. | Data vintage: 75.3432 seconds

Update: It was just removed.

9223  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TraderCal11 SR member scammed me on: January 08, 2017, 11:45:20 AM
Don't know what you're smoking - my trust rating shows I am Trust: 36: -0 / +4 not -22: -5 / +10
He must be using a very customized trust list, thus he sees a very different rating that most people do (i.e. the default). You are indeed 'Trust: 36: -0 / +4 ' when viewed from Default Trust depth 2.

As for the multiple scam accusations that *he* left, there were more negative trusts there, hence *he* marked the wall accordingly.
Could you just update your post to include these links? I want to look into them.
9224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About Collision on: January 08, 2017, 11:00:22 AM
Your dumb fucking idea relates to finding the key to 1 specific address.  I am looking for the key to any of millions addresses that have bitcoin stored on them.  So, my problem is much, much, much easier than your stupid problem.
Wrong. The 'fastest' method would be a birthday attack, and you still need O(n/2) operations (i.e. 2^128 operations for SHA256 if you had enough memory). Just because you aren't looking for a specific key to collide with, that doesn't really make it likely to find a collision in this case.

Nope. 300 million seems like a lot until you realize billions, trillions, quadrillions, octodecillions are nothing compared to the probability of a collision.
Let's add some numbers in here:
Quote
In order to spend money sent to a Bitcoin address, you just need to find a ECDSA public key that hashes to the same 160-bit value. That will take, on average, 2^160 key generations.

Supposing you could generate a billion (2^30) per second, you need 2^130 seconds.

Doing this in parallel using a billion machines requires only 2^100 seconds.

Getting a billion of your richest friends to join you gets it down to only 2^70 seconds.

There are about 2^25 seconds per year, so you need 2^45 years.

The age of the Universe is about 2^34 years so far — better get cracking!
Source.
9225  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TraderCal11 SR member scammed me on: January 08, 2017, 10:04:04 AM
This trust was left on my profile:

Timelord2067 -22: -5 / +10   2017-01-07   0.00000000   Reference   Multiple scam accusations against this user. The latest being: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1740470.0

Please explain to me what the other "multiple" scam accusations are? As far as I can tell I do not have any open scam accusations.
I am not responsible for the trust ratings left by others. Timelord is on DT3 so their trust rating do not have an impact on you, as it doesn't affect your trust score and is not visible by default. I don't know what they're talking about either (I did a quick check). You should contact them via PM.
9226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should I expect to have to do when making my first purchase through an exch on: January 08, 2017, 10:01:48 AM
What should I expect to have to do to ensure a smooth purchase of my first Bitcoins?
Where are you buying your Bitcoin from?

In the Bitcoin Core software I found a receive tab. Under that I found 'request payment' In there I found;
-snip-
You don't have to use that feature. Basically all you have to do is press 'File' and go into 'Receiving addresses':

Pick one address from there (or generate a new one) and sent it to the person/service that you've buying Bitcoin from. That's it. You can check your balance on any block explorer later, e.g. Blocktrail.
9227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TraderCal11 SR member scammed me on: January 08, 2017, 09:54:05 AM
None of the users who have left negative trust for me besides the original accuser has removed it. Please remove it as this issue has been solved.
Please be patient. These things take time to process, especially when one is busy and/or has a lot of similar cases going on. I have withdrawn my rating. PM KWH if he does not handle their rating within the next 24-48 hours and it should be fine. It was good to see this get solved.

I have never reported any posts because I am worried that if I by mistake judge it wrongly I might get banned or bad trust Sad
You don't get banned or negatively rated for creating bad reports. I'd advise against reporting when you are uncertain. It should be fairly trivial to correctly report thing such as spam, overbumping and old-bumps.

However, judging from your post history I understand why you made this useless assertion.
9230  Other / Meta / Re: scam accusation/trust confirmation, new board? on: January 07, 2017, 10:43:26 PM
Why would we require another board called 'Scam Accusation' when such a board already exists?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

Personal reputation threads (I take it that's what you mean with 'trust confirmation') should be created in the Reputation section.
9231  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gravitate selling "FUNDED" coins that are NOT FUNDED on: January 07, 2017, 09:37:18 PM
I dont know how your doing it but to make the coins I use a copy of www.bitaddress.org  to generate all the keys (obviously on an offline computer). Anyway if you go there and go to wallet details you get a different bitcoin address to what you wrote. And if you follow that address it was done this after noon. Maybe your doing it a different way or something. but if you try put the private keys in bitaddress it works.
I apologize for my mistake. I was looking at the 'Bitcoin Address' on the left side of the screen and not the compressed variant on the right side. I did mention the possibility of error though:

Unless I've made a mistake somewhere, this doesn't look good for you at all.
I'll retract this, since the address checks out and appears to have been funded.

I have imported the key into Bitcoin Core, and it checks out.

In your video you claim that 'Silver Russian Roulette' series where all should be funded. However, the corresponding address to this key is: 13nv1eYRgK5gw7sMCo4xsUiZawXt6rehTc, which was never funded.
one sec I my have copied the wrong one...
I double checked it by writing down the key from the video; besides the two minor mistakes that I've made (mistaking a '5' for an 'S', and 'uj' for a 'w'), the private key is the right now. This coin / address was never funded either, yet you have explicitly claimed in the very same video that all coins from that series should be funded.
9233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a quality post? on: January 07, 2017, 08:44:15 PM
Read this: [Forum / Campaign] Why have I been banned? Posting guidelines.

So I would like to know how do you write a good, quality post when you are new to btc and still dont have much knowledge?
The answer is simple: You don't. People need to stop attempting to engage into discussions in which their knowledge is either nonexistent or severely limited. You should be spending most of your time reading/learning and not posting.

This should be enough to answer your question / this thread.
9234  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gravitate selling "FUNDED" coins that are NOT FUNDED on: January 07, 2017, 08:32:27 PM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8XOiqOfUpc I uploaded it in the highest quality I could so I hope you can see the private keys.
Yes, both private keys can be easily seen in the video. I have withdrawn my rating for now. I will wait for you and OP to respond to this.

180bytes per input + 34 bytes per output + 10 bytes +- 'input'
Where do these values come from.
This was explained by other posters, so I will ignore it.

Quote
For the standard TX (as mentioned above) this gives us 258 bytes +- 10 bytes.
But the sum is 224 bytes. (180 bytes + 34 bytes + 10 bytes = 224 bytes)
As I've mentioned in a standard transaction, you have 1 input (left side) and 2 outputs (right side of arrow): [Address that you're sending from] --> [Address that you're sending to] + [Change address]. Think of it as paying in a grocery store, where your bills (inputs) are bigger than your total. When you do that, the cashier usually gives you other bills as change (change address / amount). Something similar happens with Bitcoin, and I will provide an example.

Let's say you have 1.0 Bitcoin in your address and want to pay Alice 0.5 Bitcoin. You do the following:
You create a transaction which uses your own address as input (1.0 Bitcoin), specify that you want to send 0.5 Bitcoin to Alice's address (which is the output of the transactions). Now if we deduce a fee of 0.0001 BTC (arbitrarily chosen for this example), the remainder is 0.4999 (1 - 0.5 - 0.0001) BTC. This remainder has to go somewhere, right? It goes to an address that is either automatically chosen by your wallet or is specified by you. This address is called the change address.

9236  Economy / Reputation / Re: Got negative trust [no reason] [WTF] on: January 07, 2017, 07:22:59 PM
You mean that this thread had never existed? Lying is bad. I'll add another negative to your account. Looks like you'll have a nice fancy collection of them!
That thread is not real. You cannot show it on here, therefore it is not real.
Cheers!
The archive website is actually used for cases such as yours, where users tend to cover their shady behavior. That link is the evidence sufficient for proving that the thread existed at one point in time, i.e. was created by you. Trying to hide it just made all of this worse.

I use an electrum wallet.
Electrum has some pre-set fee values, but you can also set the fees manually by using 'set fees manually’. I wouldn't recommend this considering your knowledge.

But I am a little confused and I do not understand much. Is there any definite explanation for this? So if I send you some money, what should I give as a miner fee?
I have pretty much explained it to you. Re-read the first part of my response and let me know what part is actually unclear.
