Why are posts like this even tolerated here? Brand new account asking from their fourth post to do an exchange with a payment method(unverified account holder at that!) having a very reversible risk involved. This should not be the way it works here.
Agreed these types of posts are bothersome, but you or I could have done something to offend some one on the Default Trust when we first joined this community and been branded with negative trust by Key Board Warriors such as Quackseller or the like and no one would take the slightest notice after that. Where there is a real failing is by the moderators to moderate. In their stead, you and I (and others) warn newbies off and if they curb their behaviour, then they get accepted into the community. Most persons here won't take the slightest notice of the OP (In fact I would wager most would set them to "ignore" immediately). |

Why is generating a vanity address so hard... It's basically bitcoin mining after you get past a certain amount of set characters...
Bitcoin mining is not hard either, it all depends on the difficulty. The bigger the set of chars in a vanity address, the bigger the difficulty It's not exponentially harder, it's linear in that it takes 60 times longer for each additional number or letter. Try using the non case sensitive switch for faster results. |

*edit* If I were looking to invest such a large sum, I'd start with asking to buy one BitCoin (One whole BTC filters out a lot of time wasters straight up) and see who does that smoothly, then start a conversation about larger amounts and go from there (true, that could be seen as a scam also).

This coin needs to get rid off big bloated blockchain first. There is no need to drag around 1GB+ of data which causes syncing from zero to be a pain in the ass. Many coins started over with new genesis block containing all current addresses with balance over zero so why not SXC? Also why not switch to mini-blockchain scheme like XCN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713538.0 ? Why doesn't bitcoin restart with all current balances in a new genesis, who wants to download 40GB to be in sync? 1GB isn't that bad of a download and shouldn't take more than an hour for most people. Agreed. And the android Wallet uses even less data as it only downloads the "headlines" for all blocks and the full block for coins in the various wallets.
