9281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: January 01, 2021, 06:07:45 PM
When one side thinks there is no chance in hell they could win, that attracts a lot less viewers, however it is still not a lost cause as a viewer for many people, because they are trying to get something out of it. What could they possibly get? Well for a Mayweather fight I think nothing, normally I would assume that in a regular boxer vs youtuber situation we would be expecting boxer to beat the hell out of the youtuber, and that is actually kind of the point, you could spend money to watch mayweather beat logan, and that ain't really the worst thing I would spend money on.

Plus, the PPV price could be lower on this, I didn't hear what it will be like, if it is really cheap and we have corona everyone, so you could just get couple beers and a pop corn and watch mayweather beat the hell out of two moronic brothers. That ought to worth something in the end Cheesy.

Normally I would agree with you that there would be less viewers for a known outcome, but in this case I think everyone is paying to see Logan get knocked out.  I can't remember the last time I saw Mayweather knock someone out, as his last several fights have mostly been him dancing around earning technical points, so I think he actually has a bit to lose in this event.  If he can't even knock out Logan Paul at this point in his career, why would anyone still pay to see him fight?  For example, do you think there's any chance in hell Mike Tyson wouldn't knock Logan Paul out?  Why isn't Mike the one getting tens of millions of dollars to knock out youtubers?
9282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 01, 2021, 06:02:54 PM
I feel like no Westbrook team has overachieved so far ever, hence why I am not shocked by this neither. Dude is a good player himself but he was never a player that really changed anything for anyone around him, which is why I do not think it really matters where he goes, he just gets his stats, he really gets some attention from defense as well, but that's about it, he is not going to make any team better just being there.

I don't think that it is the player's fault but from what I know it is always about having a star player on the right team which makes him more successful. I know he went to Houston Rockets and was given some good players around him with James Harden there but that kind of fit where both are scorers is something that won't go well for the team especially both players are not known to be good at defense. Having a good team is more than that which is always about trying to compensate with one another which the Rockets have failed to do so.

A lot of it has to do with play style.  Nobody wants to play with James Harden or Westbrook because their play style involves them having the ball so much of the time that other players on the team feel a bit unappreciated.  Everyone wants to feel appreciated at work, so you can imagine that having a coworker like Russ or James would not be the most fun experience.  You can't really blame them either, as that's the play style that made them rich beyond most people's wildest dreams, and they are unlikely to abandon it so their coworkers can feel happy.  Many people would argue this makes them bad teammates, but at least in Westbrook's case there are plenty of ex-teammates that would say otherwise.

I would agree that it would be very hard for any team to overachieve so long as their style of play is heavily surrounded around one man's abilities.  That might get you 50 wins during the regular season, but it won't cut it in the playoffs.
9283  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [11.2kW SOLAR/WIND/MAN] NastyMining Green Energy Project ☀️💨💪🔋 on: January 01, 2021, 05:58:31 PM
hi im sorry if this is already answered, i was wondering are you able to generate all electricity needed to support your mining via solar and tesla battery?

thats so epic your using tesla tech like that, such a good creative way to do thiings

The battery holds about 13.5 kWh of usable energy.  You could say that this gives you about 1kW of stored energy per hour to use during the non-sunlight hours.  While that is enough to power our altcoin miner, it would not power our ASIC.  Additionally, the solar panels provide about 50kWh of electricity per day, which comes close to enough energy to power the mining operation running currently, but the grid is still needed for overnight without more storage capacity.

In conclusion, batteries are cool because you can use electricity off of the grid, but that is what you are paying for.  It is doubtful that a battery purchase would ever be profitable unless you had some extraordinary things going on, whereas solar would likely be a smart investment so long as you stayed in the residence for more than a decade.

Hello, is there any youtube tutorial video for that ? I couldn't do it    :/

I would say if you can't follow the guides provided, instead of looking for an easier way to do it, do some research and learn about what you're actually doing until it becomes clear.  Blindly following a video if you don't understand what you're doing could expose you to risks you don't even know you're taking.  Signed messages are forever, especially when posted publicly like on this thread.  Make sure you understand what a singed message is, and how such a message could be used to impersonate or incriminate you in the future.

Even Jake Paul has said Logan has no chance. I even heard a rumor that Floyd wanted to fight Logan and then Jake immediately after. I can’t say I’ll be buying the pay per view, but I look forward to watching the highlights on YouTube. It’s hard to be mad at Logan Pail for this though. He may have no chance and be way out of his league, but he’s taking advantage of the opportunity to fight a legend and earns a huge payday.

I don't think I've ever staked my address on this thread before, so let me also join in the fun.  I like to think of this as my Bitcoin address, and it's the one I use to do signing and a majority of my escrow dealings.

168WXhArv7Fasqvi2xm5MQMfLhG18jifMe

I selected it when I first started using Bitcoin because it ended in "Me" and I thought that would make it easy to recognize.  Had I known about vanity addresses way back then, I would certainly have a more controversial and humorous address to stake.

Maybe will see Wall back in the next game of the Rockets.  Grin

That would be great.  I haven't gotten to see Harden & Wall play together yet.  I haven't really seen Wall play at all in years except for gym runs on twitter videos.  Given that he's one of the highest paid athletes in the world and has barely played in the last 2-3 years, I think there should be a bit of excitement if he does get healthy and finds himself able to put in a decent number of games this season.  I'm not sure how well him and Harden go together, or Harden and anyone for that matter, but it will still be fun to watch.

9291  Economy / Services / Re: OGNASTY’S LEGENDARY BITCOIN ESCROW SERVICE (More than 19K BTC transferred!) on: December 31, 2020, 05:17:36 PM
If you ever need an escrow OgNasty is your guy! The most proven track record on this forum and probably the only one you could trust with high amounts of coin. And I'll echo the statement above this - Stay safe and don't take unnecessary risks!

Happy New Year Og, 2020 has put a lot of things in perspective.

Thanks for the kind words. Would be great if that trust showed up in the trust network. I think a lot of people probably don’t understand what it’s like to be in a perceived position of power on this forum. You’d think people would appreciate your efforts for the community but far more often users try to twist your actions into ways to discredit your motives in some misguided attempt to elevate themselves. It’s hard to really see the guilty parties behind these jealousy fueled attacks until you’ve fallen victim yourself.

I hope 2021 brings more perspective to members that I honestly don’t know what reason they have to hold a grudge against me, and maybe my trust feedback can begin to reflect the reality that is your above statement.

Stay safe. Stay prosperous.
9292  Other / Politics & Society / [POLL] Let’s say Trump did win the election... on: December 31, 2020, 12:49:56 PM
I think at this point even if the election was rigged, we should focus on fixing the problems going forward. Having Trump continue to be president after Biden was widely announced as the winner would be a strange asterisk on election results that would be an embarrassment to America. While this is the most typical 2020 election result we could have expected, I’m not sure we want to carry this on beyond January 20th.

What do you think? Is it about who rightly won or respecting the given outcome?
9293  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 1oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: December 31, 2020, 11:03:13 AM
The original coins released are holding $37.89 at the current rate.  I suspect in time they will surpass their sale price of ~$100, but more importantly it demonstrates an incredibly unique and innovative concept that continues to operate successfully today.

With the recent Bitcoin price run, the original minted seats purchased in this thread are now holding $114.09 in BTC with another $3.13 pending distribution.  This $117.22 in BTC marks these coins having a positive ROI in real dollar terms after only 7 years and is a great sign of things to come.

newly bought seats start at zero - correct?

All minted seats are engraved after they are ordered, so you are correct to assume that any Minted Seat purchased from the shop for $95 will not contain $117.22 (more now) in BTC.  It is great that the original seats here were able to more than ROI in 7 years, but that return isn't promised going forward.  While this is an amazing proof of concept on an innovative idea, I don't believe people should be purchasing these purely with ROI in mind.  If that was the goal, purchasing online digital seats from nastyfans.org would get you a much faster ROI, as the cost of an online seat is currently around 20% the cost of a Minted Seat as a result of not needing 1oz of silver, a custom generated vanity address, assembly with a custom hologram, a donation to NastyFans, or precious metal engraving services.
9294  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [11.2kW SOLAR/WIND/MAN] NastyMining Green Energy Project ☀️💨💪🔋 on: December 31, 2020, 10:54:36 AM
@OgNasty, I'm thinking about buying 30 solar panels from Canadian Solar CS1H-325MS-Black > 325 Watt HiDM High Density Mono-PERC Solar Panel - 35mm BoB for my rig. A question, with 30 solar panels working how many ASICs or GPUs these panels can handle without using the electricity from the grid? The location have good sun exposure.

That's a question that only leads to more questions.  Are you going to turn off the rigs during periods of no sunlight or will you be buying an army of batteries?

I think it's best to look at the production and then consider it an offset to whatever usage you're using.  You'd be surprised how little mining power you get from solar panels.  Your question indicates you may have higher expectations from solar panels than you will receive from them.  The math you're asking me to do for you is also extremely oversimplified to the point where I am not sure I believe that you're seriously considering solar for this use.

can i just ask what 'benefits' do you think you get for having a corporate healthcare system. im actually interested in your opinion

Lower income taxes. Less dependency on government. Access to faster and higher quality services.

Since I know you’ll dispute my third point, read it again and then read this article: https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/07/15/american-health-care-treats-canadians-who-cannot-wait/

anyway.. out of curiosity
look at how much medical insurance you pay per month
look at how much income tax you pay.
then work out if all hospitals/doctors stayed the same but the bill went to the government and no longer your liability. how much income tax increase you think it will be
remember corporate insurances make profit. so think about the 'at cost' value you would pay/not pay
then think about the lack of 'exceptions' there would be and no having to remember which hospital to request to go to if unconscious to ensure your in coverage.

I haven't paid for medical insurance since 2013.  I guess I'm lucky that I haven't required any medical services in that period.  I may not always have that luxury, but if/when I do need major medical care I assume that I will have funds available for whatever surgery I need after saving so much money on taxes and insurance for such a long period of time.  Given that I will be paying out of pocket, the same way that Canadians who need expedited care would in the US, there would be no corporate insurance profits or 'exceptions' involved.  Just me, paying for the best and receiving the best without having to pay insane taxes or insurance.  I guess I'm old fashioned in that regard.  I don't need a government entity to budget my heathcare for me.  I'm perfectly capable to do so on my own.  Granted not everyone may have this option, but I'm also one of those crazy people who believe that natural selection should be a part of any species' evolution.
9296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: prediction betting platform pros and cons? on: December 31, 2020, 10:37:38 AM
It's always nice betting against other players as opposed to the house.  With other players you get more "real" odds with the players you're playing with, like multiplayer video games vs single player.  It's also nice knowing that some players are going to win, instead of playing some type of satoshi dice style game where it's win or lose for you and the house.  I would image the casinos or whatever you call them would prefer a service fee type of setup as opposed to an odds based payoff that can expose them to risk if a long odds winner were to emerge.

Plus, with prediction markets you can put up some really wild predictions, which can add fun to the equation.
9297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: December 31, 2020, 10:29:33 AM
How about the Orlando Magic? they set up a franchise history with their 4th win in a row. this team doesn't have a lot of superstar rooster but still continue to stay on the top, will it continue until the 5th game?

It was amazing seeing Markelle Fultz lead a team to victory finally.  What happened to his jumpshot is one of the strangest mysteries in sports.  I've never seen someone suffer from such a mental block, except maybe Charles Barkley when it comes to golfing...

All this winning while Aaron Gordon isn't even healthy.  A good sign for the young team from Orlando, but I'd still be a surprised if they made the playoffs this year.  It's a little early in the season to be celebrating wins.  Still beats losing though.   Smiley
