I’ve got a mtgox yubikey that I would sell for an outrageously irrational price. DM me with an offer if you’re about it.
9322  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Why are Bitcoin Transfer Fees so high? Is Privacy a joke? on: December 21, 2020, 07:18:21 PM
Bitpay isn't the most Bitcoin friendly service.  If you take custody of your BTC with a wallet that allows you to set the fee amount and consolidate your inputs during low transaction periods you will not have such an issue with high fees.

I never realised this was possible. Which wallet service?

Wallet service?  I said, "If you take custody of your BTC" meaning that you would use a wallet on your own and not an online service.  It's as simple as sending yourself a transaction with all your small inputs when you can confirm it on a block with a low fee.

I’m giving away merit on two different threads for relatively simple tasks.

This is fun, just know about this encrypt-decrypt stuff. Let me try

You were right on the fence.  Ultimately, the amount of bounty posts is just enough to make me not reward you with merit.  I don't want you to be used as an example of why giveaways like this shouldn't be done.  I'm sorry.

Its ok, i just want to participate. Thanks!

Great attitude!

With your permission, I'd like to make a list of those who have been banned after claiming to see if there are any connections between the users?

If you wanted to continue updating the list on your post or make another thread, that is fine.  I don't want to see a lot of continued posting that will discourage new users from participating though.  My concern is for the experience of actual legitimate users and I don't really care about the scammers and spammers on this thread to give them continued attention.  I just hit ignore.
9330  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk App on: December 20, 2020, 02:07:46 AM
Perhaps you would be better off if you were to discuss the pros and cons by comparing the forum as it is on a browser compared to what could be achieved via an app.

This is a good point. I once spent time developing an iOS Casascius Coin Analyzer app and Apple rejected it because they said it had no added functionality to: https://casascius.uberbills.com/ even though the app had tabs and things that were unique and I felt streamlined the user experience.

So if it was just a bitcointalk app that is essentially the same functionality as the mobile browser, Apple wouldn’t approve it anyway.
9331  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to Buy Bitcoin Miners on: December 20, 2020, 12:00:01 AM
Sorry if I post this int the wrong section but I am trying to buy a Bitcoin Miner but I am not quite sure where to get the miner from.

Most people have for years ordered their miners from: https://shop.bitmain.com/
9332  Economy / Reputation / Re: Isn't bitcoinermatt abusing the merit system? on: December 19, 2020, 11:56:02 PM
There are MUCH BIGGER abusers when it comes to cycling merit...  This is why I've stated previously that there should be a 50 merit cap on what any 1 member can send to another over the life of their account, so large merit cyclers cannot continue their schemes forever with no consequence.

9333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Anybody looking to buy HEX? on: December 19, 2020, 11:36:57 PM
I've got around a million HEX available for trade.  PM me with offers.  Will accept BTC/LTC/XMR/ETH.  Would like to only deal with 1 person for it all and am looking to get it's listed value.
9334  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best DEFI project to invest crypto in? on: December 19, 2020, 11:12:26 PM
Whatever you decide to invest in, make sure you have a target where you will withdraw your funds.  Those of us who have been in the community long enough have witnessed a dozen of these get rich quick bubbles in crypto.  You will make a lot of money until it's all gone.  Make sure you have an exit plan and stick to it or you will likely lose nearly everything.
9335  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to invest best $2,000-$5,000? on: December 19, 2020, 11:10:02 PM
Trading/day trading isn't ideal for beginners.

Here the questions:
- what would be the best investment method you would recommend?
- linked to your recommendation, what tools/services you would recommend also (you need to balance the service/features with their fees if any)
- what service you would recommend to convert such crypto to USD or EUR?
- Buying bitcoin and using the dollar cost averaging method.
- Tool like a wallet? I'd advise you download the Electrum wallet and store your purchased bitcoins there.
- You can use Binance
https://www.binance.com/en/trade/BTC_USDT
https://www.binance.com/en/trade/BTC_EUR

This is good advice.  You may also consider purchasing BTC directly through PayPal if it ever becomes an option for EUR folks and you are uncomfortable holding your own BTC.
9336  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] My Casascius Collection on: December 19, 2020, 10:28:41 PM
I agree completely but there have been years these could have been graded where shipping would not have been an issue or you can do what i do and pay an icg employee to travel to you to gather all the coins at once and then bring them back to your nearest airport when done Smiley

The dangers of moving a collection like this are real and that is always a consideration.  However, my main reason to not have these graded is that I believe grading is only a negative thing for most coins (obviously there are exceptions).  Removing these coins from their capsules and exposing them to oxygen as well as other potential contaminants along with adding more people to the chain of possession can only be a bad thing in my opinion.  I've seen cases where graded coins begin to tarnish where their ungraded counterparts did not, leading me to suspicions that not all coins are properly handled when being graded.  I've also seen enough coins graded and then re-graded to get a wildly different grade, so I have my doubts as to how valid the ratings are anyway.  I don't want my collection's worth to be determined by whose desk it landed on or if that person is having a good day or not and I don't want to trust that the person handling them is going to do so properly as I have no way to verify this.  It is simply a case of a lot of risk and no tangible reward in my opinion.

Are you willing to offer some recommendations?

I think it would be cool if you got permission from users and shared profits with them.

It'd be helpful to see a real-life example of what you went through, being able to sell those t-shirts for all these years with Ron Burgundy on them.

You like that? It’s actually a drawing I had made of a cross between Ron Burgundy & Guy Fawkes. There’s still a couple available for purchase at: https://NastyFans.org/mint
