ASIC power-consumption estimates that take place before the design phase lack both scope and credibility. These shortcomings affect process, design, and IP (intellectual-property) selection. As the design complexity increases and power-consumption requirements tighten, this problem becomes more pervasive, often causing design rework, schedule slippage, higher NRE (nonrecurring-engineering) costs, and other challenges.
To address these issues, engineers should use a structured approach and a set of heuristic power-estimation rules for making effective predesign ASIC power estimates. Given that IC design flows and design requirements differ greatly, you may need engineering judgment and creativity to extend this approach across a range of design situations. In any event, these concepts should provide a good starting point. Companies that outsource portions of their ASIC design flows should engage early with their ASIC design partners to improve the quality of their predesign power estimates.
From an analytical viewpoint, generating power-consumption estimates should be straightforward. However, predesign power estimation is often given a low priority and may rely on the wrong mix of people to support the effort. In general, the team responsible for process, IP, and design selection should also own the predesign power estimates. This team will need augmentation if it is too distant from the design-implementation effort or if it has little hands-on power-estimation experience. For example, a software-centric architect plus a continually distracted manager will probably generate inadequate predesign ASIC power estimates, causing suboptimal process, design, and IP selection. That team needs designers with hands-on experience, and it may also need to include low-power-design experts from the ASIC design partner. The structured approach lends itself to distributing tasks and recombining results so that team members can share the workload.

PayPal has no way of knowing that delivery has been delayed unless customers tell them. They also have no way of knowing whether customers have consented to that delay. Absent an order from a consumer protection agency, they're probably on dodgy legal ground if they just reverse all payments made to BFL via PayPal. What I was trying to point out is that if they have received X amount of calls/complaints/concerns, yet don't do anything about it, then they are perpetually the ruse. But given that BFL is on record in stating that a certain amount of PP orders need to be fulfil, we can assume that PP's trying their damndest to stay in front of this developing situation. PP is probably happy to read in the Wire article that BFL will be shipping upwards of 150 units within the next few weeks. PayPal is probably also happy to see that they acted as the liaison between parties to have illegal products shipped across state lines (think FCC).

I'm not getting this business practice at all. Somebody link me a memo showing that this is the new norm so I can start calling my custom base and suppliers cocksuckers, for currently I'm not on track to beat last year's sales, down about 66% to date. This is why I'm asking for the thread to be closed. I don't believe anything more productive can be done here. I've stated my opinion and asked my questions. BFL's ceo has come here and given a direct response. You really can't ask for more than that. I wish for the best from BFL and I hope they can deliver what they have promised. Since you're the one who started the thread, you can easily close it yourself. Look for the lock option in the lower left hand corner.

I suspect that if people are contacting PayPal about BFL's failure to ship within a reasonable time then they're also contacting consumer protection agencies responsible for enforcing internet commerce regulations. I am deeply interested in the volume of ASICs shipped. Please let me know if you ordered a BFL product and when you receive it. While Jody's declining to say how many are shipping any more and is just saying what order dates ASICs have been shipped (Jody seems to believe that if she doesn't acknowledge something, it's not a problem), I noticed that Josh has still been talking about the number of units shipped over on the BFL forums. Jody seems to be totally out of her depth and taking it out on BFL's customers, which is a great way to provoke retribution. Make no mistake, the entire staff knows exactly what is going on in the office, for they're all within earshot of one another, coupled with them knowing each other way before Bitcoin come into existence. I can easily prove that Jody knew the Vleisides clan long ago.

I wonder if the idea stemmed from here: Yes, you will worry about chargebacks, because it takes some scammer 2 minutes to find a not frequently used proxy (but still used), log into paypal, and then dispute a couple of hours later.
I had a feeling I missing something but opted to toss it out there none the same. But, still thinking outside the box... The original idea is one ugly looking static cluster fuck. What if somehow you sold the pixels making the overall look pleasing to the eye, coupled with the ability for the holder of the pixels to be able to sell them to some other entity, thus having an opportunity for all concerns to profit as well? (all via bitcoin, of course) Then, you'll have an ever changing fluid site. But probably not, now that I see the timestamps are different. When I penned the above, I had no idea that it was already implemented elsewhere, assuming it was an original idea, and yes the gem idea was my inspiration.

Nope this is not a regular order. this is one they've set aside for review. When did you order yours? I find the following hard to believe that RM is a serious contributor to Wire. So most of the people who shelled out the $274 it costs for one of these systems back in June are still waiting. And they’re mad. And, just in time for locust season! Ain't that right Utah? Meanwhile, Butterfly Labs is nowhere near full production capacity. The company says that its systems will continue to trickle out, with another 75 to 150 shipping in the next few weeks. And, WTF! In the meantime, if you have an questions about the Butterfly Labs machine, send us an email. There's a comment section beneath the article of which they read and respond to. Butterfly says it has thousands of orders on the books, but to date, it has only delivered 35 to 40 of them, according to Josh Zerlan, chief operating officer of Butterfly Labs. Let's do the math: 75 to 150 shipping in the next few weeks with thousands of orders on the books; divide, carry the 1... or is it 2?... Fuck it! Somebody else do it, for my dick's getting hard just looking at it.

I suggest a new move be introduced incorporating the pawns, calling it entoshi (think en passe) The object of the game is reverse in the sense that the first person to sacrifice all their pieces first is the winner. As in checkers, one's forced to make a capture, otherwise... - The player failing to make the capture loses a turn.
- The piece not captured is removed from the game.
- The player is allowed to remove another piece of theirs from the game.
Thus, a great penalty is bestowed upon the player not exercising a capture. In fact, we can call this the entoshi. A point system could be in place, thus enabling a tally of the remaining opponents pieces to coincide with the win, e.g., W5 (where the value of the remaining pieces have a total value of 5). A goal would be to achieve the highest W(?) score of subsequent matches. As you can imagine, the goal is to try not to be the first one forced to capture, for your subsequent moves could be a series of captures, of which a defence for such would need to be devised (or is it derived?--not looking it up). Back to the point system, the value of the pieces could look this: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 1 2 3 3 2 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 The numbering aspect could be/is open for discussion. One way to incorporate Bitcoin into the mix is the payoff to the winner via the W(?) value.
