9381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex Preparing for an Exit Scam! DO _NOT_ SEND COINS THERE! on: April 08, 2018, 07:43:49 AM
Here's how the Polo scam goes:

1. A coin listed on Polo skyrockets.
2. Polo disables coin withdrawals for that coin, under the guise of "wallet maintenance issues." (though deposits continue to work just fine Sad)
3. Polo sells your coins on a different exchange.
4. The coin plummets back down to earth.
5. Voila! Suddenly Polo's wallet maintenance issues for the coin are conveniently resolved.
6. Polo buys back your coins at a cheap price and reimburses them to your account, pocketing the difference.

Polo is basically short-selling your coins whenever one of their wallets goes offline.

I've watched this happen too many times over the last 4 years to believe anything else.

Perhaps now that they are a part of Circlejerk they will behave more ethically, but I doubt it.

Well that's a shame.
9383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: April 08, 2018, 03:31:07 AM
Needs a working wallet. Without this, all the genius in the world won't help Cardano gain any sort of real-world adoption.
9384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do in this bearish market? on: April 07, 2018, 03:39:57 PM
i just told you exactly what to do to make money in a down market and my reply got bowled over by a bunch of noobs desperate for merit.
9385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do in this bearish market? on: April 07, 2018, 03:13:53 PM
Do what the insiders would do on Wall Street: short sell.

I try to avoid recommending Poloniex usually but their leveraging and short selling features are admittedly pretty nifty.
9386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What coins can you still solo-mine using setgenerate true? on: April 07, 2018, 02:45:02 PM
I had a blast mining ColbertCoins and MurrayCoins with my CPU before they broke. I'm wondering if there's any other coins out there that are small enough to be mined using a QT / Core desktop client.

Do any of you have much success with any of these? If you don't want more competition, maybe just give me a different coin name that you're not currently mining. Thanks hive!
9387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: April 07, 2018, 10:19:31 AM
Any word on when this coin is going to get a working wallet together?

I would have sold my stash ages ago but my coins are trapped in a wallet that won't sync.

This coin stands no chance of adoption without a wallet that isn't fragile and requires special care.
9388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Hawaiicoin - A Slice of Paradise on: April 07, 2018, 10:11:44 AM
This coin has been dead for over 3 years. It broke and the dev ran off, leaving everybody holding.... well... nothing, because nothing can move because the blockchain is broken and he never bothered to fix it.
9389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why hate BCH? on: April 07, 2018, 09:54:15 AM
Personally I do not hate BCH with recent merchant  adoption and sending people text BCH through  text messages , I think BCH with be alternative  to BTC not necessarily to replace  it.  Both BCH and BTC can actually  exist independently  and focus on achieving satoshi vision.

Yes, this is an alternative to the lost Bitcoins for their existence. Bitcoin Cash also represents a great value for modern society.

Who accepts BCH? Please, name one legitimate company that isn't just a shill corp for Rog.

9391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea arrests 14 on suspicion of discount Bitcoin mining on: April 05, 2018, 03:04:18 AM
As of February 15, it cost an average of $26,000 to mine 1 bitcoin in South Korea, as they have some of the highest energy rates in the world.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/15/the-cheapest-and-most-expensive-countries-to-mine-bitcoin.html

So a 10% reduction is a $2,600 discount.

26,000 - 2,600 = $23,800 per bitcoin

Still an extraordinarily unprofitable undertaking.

Weird story.
9392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problems with Cardano (Daedalus) Wallet on: April 05, 2018, 02:55:49 AM
Thanks for the info guys. It was much appreciated but unfortunately none of the methods listed managed to remedy my problem.

Looks like I'm just gonna have to start from scratch and download the blockchain from the ground up.

I think Cardano is brilliant by design but unless they get a working wallet together their chances for success will be severely impeded.
9393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re:  INTERNET OF COINS ⛓ blockchain freedom (r)evolution ⛓ [ CROWDFUND CLOSED ] on: April 05, 2018, 02:40:53 AM
Anyone know if there's any competitors to IOC with the working product?

At the time of the ICO, about 1 year ago, no, there were not any competitors.

Now there's about a dozen, most of them are Ethereum-based tokens.

In any case, I have never doubted the legitimacy of this project and it will be very interesting to take a look at the final product.
9394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How Much Bitcoin Does A Candybar Cost lol on: April 03, 2018, 11:53:22 AM
Comments here are getting pretty boring and played out. Different noobs keep posting the same questions that have been posed since 2011, trying pretty uncreatively to earn merit. I think the merit system is great cuz it will definitely impede shitposters from ranking up accounts and selling them to sig campaigns. Now we see the slightest bit of effort being put into comments from noobs, which is a refreshing change of pace.

Oh I know lets make it pertinent to bitcoin: I think if prostitution were a cryptocurrency it would probably be "Bitcoin Cash." Cheesy

Delete this if you must, but frankly its better than half the topics on the front page right now.
9395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: March 27, 2018, 06:36:00 PM
Coinmarketcap doesn't have the updated Circulating Supply or correct Market Cap. Coin is easily a top 200 coin when they update their site to include real $PAC.

So wisened veteran know-it-all, pray tell what is the Circulating Supply?

If you're right, that only means it has a lot further to fall!

I expect this thing to do nothing but continue its plummet into oblivion.

God have mercy on the poor souls who continue to hold this turd.
9396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hshare(HSR) and Hcash on: March 26, 2018, 10:45:17 PM
I couldn't find anything about this coin? This coin is suitable for 1080 ti mining? is there anyone know average daily coin earn with 1080 ti?

I believe its only PoS. Took me a minute to configure the wallet for this.

One of the few coins to be up against bitcoin today.
9397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re:  INTERNET OF COINS ⛓ blockchain freedom (r)evolution ⛓ [ CROWDFUND CLOSED ] on: March 26, 2018, 10:38:03 PM
So, July 1st is the launch date right?

Man I almost forgot about this one.

I've been receiving the update emails pretty regularly, and while the waiting process has been a long one, the devs seem quite serious about it. Even if it takes them an entire year to release the final product, there still seems to be a need for such a thing.
9398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What's the deal with Factom (FCT)? on: March 26, 2018, 09:54:21 PM
Its one of the only coins in the green today, even against the dollar. Up close to 10% against BTC.

57% of all volume is traded on Polo (where they also list FCT for margin trading)...

Is something up with this coin, or is this the usual Pump and Dump shenanigans that have defined Polo since the beginning of time?
9399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: March 25, 2018, 11:31:19 PM
So the old PACcoin falls in value every day. Meanwhile the new PACcoin is worth... nothing Cheesy

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/paccoin/

Morons. You really are getting what you deserve if you buy this pile of garbage.

Meanwhile PAC managed to slip to 1338th place in the rankings.

I think if I flicked a booger on the dev's face it would have a bigger market cap than this.
Don't be a bitter dude if you invested on this coin accept that its nothing you've loss your money. Well this coins seems nothing at all and its a pure hype from those shillers outside wanting to take the money to their followers who will buy this Paccoin.

Of course I didn't invest in this coin! What are you, nuts???

I'm performing a community service reminding people that this coin is utter horseshit.

All you have to do is look into it to know its a scam, and the scams up.

Down an additional 8% today... ouch!

Cheesy
9400  Economy / Speculation / Re: The DEATH CROSS is in. How low will we go? on: March 24, 2018, 07:07:22 AM
You argued that fees had a negative correlation to price. Any data to support that? Because you're ignoring an obvious and established correlation which suggests the opposite.

No, I didn't. We're actually in agreement on this. Its just that you said price follows fee and I'm saying its the other way around.

You're now just arguing with me for argument's sake.
