941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of new Cryptocurrency wealth on 2016 US Presidential election? on: January 18, 2014, 08:32:34 PM
A very interesting concept indeed.

I think it will likely make an impact with regards to campaign budgets. Support and donations for Ron Paul should certainly increase.

But I really am not sure if the outcome will be changed, nowadays isn't the president chosen before the election begins?

This seems to really take away from the basic principle of bitcoin, Anonymity.

I for one would definitely not be very keen to willingly put my eye scan or fingerprint onto a database.

Free coins to everyone on bitcointalk.org?

Every single one should be donated to charities. Not only would that get mass adoption by charities of bitcoin but it wuld help millions of people even if in just a small way.

My only argument would be to invest the money into creating infrasturcture for underdeveloped causes vs simply giving to charity.

I agree, I would feel much more comfortable with a reputable escrow for my first BTC buy.

Possibly bud, is skrill something I can fund with my credit card and then transfer to you? Would you be comfortable using an escrow service like tomatocage for example?

Thanks,

Yeah I agree with you, that is why they are at the very bottom of the list. Not an ideal solution for sure.

I have had success with purchasing btc with amazon giftcards in the past. Hoping to be able to repeat the simple process with a trusted member.

Additionally I am open to other solutions.

A direct bank transfer is not off the list however is not a very attractive solution for me at the moment due to processing time.
