The devs here don't delete anything. If you want that kind of censorship, go to the shadowcoin thread.
I wouldn't condone deleting anything either, hence the reason I didn't suggest it. To be more clear, I would recommend the devs make a post discouraging the type of response I was referencing. For good or bad, this forum reflects on the coin. The zealot supporter who shouts at everyone in opposition to him can do significant harm.

I've never once seen an xst dev respond to any fud. I doubt they are going to start.

This right here is what the devs need to get their hands around. I cant even have a conversation with you without you resorting to hysterics. Your approach to me is counterproductive and doesn't reflect well on this coin.

Please if you cannot support XST and this awesome community go somewhere else...if it goes to 5k strong holders will buy more and hold it.

Fudders make the page count awesome. Get with the program.

lol noobs.

0% premined and no instamine with a clean code......

They're joking.  For the reasons you stated it was observed that there was no FUD and no reason for it to be found...so they did it anyway for laughs...Wink

The jokes on you because I'm fudding so people dump into my buy orders.

I get an assertion failure line 436 with kernel.cpp expression pindex-> pprev||pindex-> getblockhash()==(!if testnet? hashGenesisBlock:hash GenesisBlocktestnet

Happens when  I try to open the wallet., reinstall didnt seem to make a difference to a new directory.. thoughts?

Do you have testnet = 1 in your config file or something?

I booted up the latest, 2.0.1.0, and it worked fine, although for some reason it started to resync the chain. But that was working fine too.

947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XST] Stealth-Coin.com | Tor | StealthText, World's first anonymous SMS Tx! on: September 08, 2014, 07:04:18 PM
Cloakcoin has anonymous transfers via SMS: http://cloakpal.com/img/screenshots/wallet-03-address.png

XST only works in an android app, but one day hopes it to be SMS yet they already claim they have the first one LMAO

Quote
Only problem with that is that there is already a working SMS anon solution in the crypto world, so there is no need to "Wait and see who gets there first"..

I know you are just trolling, but two points might help you understand if you don't already:

1. The stealthtext android app is the SMS client. It sends the SMS message. Even the screenshot you linked is just a client. You might think that SMS needs too look like your android SMS chat box, but it doesn't need to. Any program can send an SMS if the phone user allows it.

2. You are kidding that cloak SMS is anon, right? You can clearly see balance information and accounts right in the SMS. Plus the whole service goes through a central "claok pal" server. That's a single point of failure. The differences between cloak pal and stealth text are huge.

If you have a serious question. Ask it. But you are just being a troll at this point and it's getting a bit tedious.

Tedious troll. That's really the worst kind because not only are you a troll, you are boring.

I've got a 100 XST bounty for the person who can get the best screenshot of https://coinmarketcap.com/ when XST is at its highest point in the pump that seems to be brewing. Of course you have to get the top slots down to XST to qualify!

PM me your entry if you get a good one!

Oh, hell yeah. Wallet problems!

Time to score some cheap SSD.

Take your time dev.

try to have a bit of vision bro.

Yeah, I'm trying to envision a coin that solves the real cryptographic problems with anonymity. BBR is as close as it comes right now, unfortunately.
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] Shadow | [ ShadowChat | ShadowSend | ShadowGo ] | New iOS wallet ! on: September 05, 2014, 05:00:39 PM
The primary factor in a financial or private commerce ecosystem is secure communication between parties.

Jamming chat, etc., in a wallet is a poor attempt to conflate different types of information exchange. In a true trustless and anonymous transaction protocol, the information is a shared secret between sender and receiver that allows the receiver to prove a transfer of ownership.

You may think to yourself that chat solves this problem. Namely, sender and receiver set up an encrypted channel and exchange the secret. That can work great, but you don't need zk proofs in this situation. zk proofs solve the problem of ever exchanging the secret in the first place. So you don't need chat. I.e. it's cryptographically irrelevant.

Chat also has the problem that the sender and receiver need direct communication to exchange the secret. That's horribly limiting: "Hey Ted, we need to exchange some money, when are you available to do that?" At some point, the conversation has to be initiated on the private channel. So sender and recipient have to meet and exchange a secret to meet up on the channel. It defers the problem and so you still haven't solved it. Again. Chat, etc. become irrelevant because of this need to establish the private channel.

Also, zk proofs are good to solve the problem of exchanging a secret because it eliminates the need of the exchange. But stealth addresses already do that. So why implement zk proofs to solve a problem already solved by the coin that you cloned from (vertcoin)?

Right now, for crypto, zk proofs have been promised for zerocoin (zk=zero knowledge). But zerocoin is being worked on by people (1) smart enough to conceive of it, (2) smart enough to provide a public blue print giving enough information for one to determine where the proof fits, and (3) smart enough to know that even with this blueprint, they are still going to beat anyone who tries to implement their idea.

Hence, my conclusion (for which I can find no contradictory evidence) is that the shadowcoin dev borrowed "zk-SNARK" from the zerocoin whitepaper in the hopes that they make a release and he can clone the technology into shadowcoin.

I have no doubt that the SDC dev can pull this off. My doubt lies completely with the zerocoin team in that they have conceived of an idea that is impractical to implement and therefore impossible to clone because it will never exist.

Some people arent here to ask genuine questions

Except where I say

There is absolutely no indication on this thread or anywhere else how the proofs will be implemented to anonymize transactions. I'd have a lot of SDC myself if there were. (If so, please link me to this info. I could be wrong, but I've looked pretty hard.)

Someone link how zk-SNARKS are going to be applied to anon and you could see me open my BTC wallet to buy a lot of shadow coin.

I'll post my buy right here on the thread too.

I'm not going to hold my breath, though.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] Shadow | [ ShadowChat | ShadowSend | ShadowGo ] | New iOS wallet ! on: September 05, 2014, 05:37:17 AM
Tor is used on heaps of coins, and encrypted video, voice and IM are a big deal, lite wallet for android, IOS that stakes and contains all the before mentioned features plus zk-SNARKs is a big deal.

I'm even more skeptical now because you didn't even bother to link to an explanation of how zk-SNARKS could possibly be used to prove key ownership.

At least wave your hands or make excuses. But don't ignore the question.

[addendum]

Chat, video, phone calls, smoke signals absolutely do not matter to people who care about anonymity and security.

XC Tor stick is still vaporware: http://xc-official.com/xc-tor-stick/

Read the OP bro and look at the preview for the new lite wallet, zk-SNARKs free video and voice calling, lite wallet for Android and IOs, and not even 2 months old, would like to see any other coin that has the innovation and progress SDC has, just remember zk-SNARKs was the talk of the town not long ago, everyone was saying DRK would be dead once it was released, well this month SDC will have it and it will be trust-less, need i say more, i hate talking about other coins here but you brought it up, i just looked at stealthcoin, i hold two coins and SDC is one that has everything they have for a while, not earth shattering not impressed.

People can already do video and chat with skype. That's a nice gimmick, but in terms of cryptocurrency usefulness, completely irrelevant.

zk-SNARKS would be cool if they weren't chronically vaporware. Frankly, without any hint from the team of how zk-SNARKs can be used to prove key ownership, one must be skeptical. There is absolutely no indication on this thread or anywhere else how the proofs will be implemented to anonymize transactions. I'd have a lot of SDC myself if there were. (If so, please link me to this info. I could be wrong, but I've looked pretty hard.)

I'll acknowledge that stealth addresses are awesome. But they were in vertcoin first, so not terribly innovative for another coin to add, unless they are layered over other anon.

In fact, the only coin to do this is SSD. It combines Tor anon with stealth addresses (which the SSD dev calls "TimeVortex 2"). In SSD, stealth addresses are already included in the source and Qt. The stealth addresses in SSD won't be activated for a week or so, to give most users a time to upgrade. I think that this delay has to do with the fact the stealth addresses create a different kind of transaction than regular addresses and so everyone on the net needs to be running the same wallet so they don't get rejected.

Now, either Tor or stealth addresses alone are not innovative. However, together they are very powerful, and a completely new combination. As the stealth people point out, but have yet to deliver, the combination protects against block chain analysis and network analysis.

I'd say, given all this, that right now, SSD is the most anonymous coin. Period. Maybe SDC will catch up.

I've been watching SSD. WTF? This place is a three ring circus.

My coins have quintupled in value. Holy smokes.
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] OP UPDATE!! SSD Sonic Screwdriver PoW over PoS Bittrex, CCEX and BleuTrade on: September 04, 2014, 08:25:53 AM
SonicScrewdriver with TimeVortex Version 2

With TimeVortex Version 2, SonicScrewdriver is the first cryptocurrency to combine cryptographic transaction anonymity with the privacy protection of Tor. This combination prevents both analysis of the blockchain and of the network, providing total privacy protection for SSD users. No other coin offers this level of privacy protection.

This new wallet update also improves performance by using the extremely fast Leveldb database to track transaction information. Leveldb has recently been added to bitcoin to improve its performance, in light of bitcoin's ever increasing usage.

Holy Mother!!!!

From what the dev says, pretty soon.

So, To give an update, I was able to build successfully today, but in order to get the changes to start to sync I had to disable the stake checkpoints. I am unhappy with having that sort of a security risk, So am going back through the code and fixing it. Once this is complete the release will be ready.

Post from dev. It's a delay.

Dump you coins!!!!!

Look!!! Frownie faces:
