Question, about this POS thing, lets say you download the BlackCoin wallet, transfer some funds to it, open it until the chain is fully downloaded and then you close it for 1 year.
One year later will this wallet get 1% reward? Or are there any constraints?

Anyone? You get the reward for staking, so you need to be online and the wallet has the be unlocked at least for staking. The rewards come in "every now and then", you will receive coincount / (365*100) average per day. So you would only get the 1% if you ran your client constantly for a year? Presumably, staking is measured by the hour not the day? And if you miss 'your share' as you weren't staking, does it get distributed to the others that were? Or does the 1% inflation decrease for that year? Thanks No, you will earn your 1% regardless of whether or not you have your wallet open for the full year. You will receive the interest once you re-open your wallet. The advantage of having your wallet open all the time is that you help secure the network, and also earn compound interest on your 1%. |

Did you make those sounds?  I think the idea is good and it actually looks good, but "The coin that eats other coins" kinda sounds meh, I'd replace it with "Always bet on black" or something else. It's pretty solid for a 1st commercial though. You are the second person to say that... hmm ok I like your tagline. Will wait for a few more suggestions and then make the alterations. (I like the coin that eats other coins because there are so many stupid coins that need to be eaten... its a public service) I just think its more important to get miners interested and that tagline will definitely do it. (They will google "why does he say it eats other coins"/black shield etc) Yeah, but still, I think "the coin that eats" is a bit too agressive. Compared with "always bet on black" which for me expresses the "caracter" of the coin and it sounds classy  Hmm ok... besides I mention a multipool that "pumps" afterwards... the black hole is a good visual imagery. Ok I will change the tagline and extend the video by at least 10 seconds. No voiceover yet but not opposed to the idea. Add me to the "don't like the eating reference" list, makes it seem that that is the main focus of BC. Oh, and maybe might be a good idea to use a piece of music that isn't as well known as the climax of The Beatles Day in the Life ? |

I can easily say less than 24 people donated to the press release, but thousands of people are currently benefiting from the donations of the few. At the end of the day what does it matter because the few are seeing a nice return on their investment.

Did you miss the two paragraphs about CoinKite? In less than 24 hours you have seen a return on your investment. The card and CoinKite are both exciting news and both are separate entities from the core BlackCoin dev team. It is not unusual for companies to send out press releases focusing on partnerships with other companies. Now we both know what your agenda is by posting your not so cleverly disguised questions. As I stated before I do not do this passive aggressive; I do aggressive aggressive. Either get to the real point or move on.
No, I didn't miss the CoinKite points. And I also noted that other articles hardly mention the card. I wasn't going to raise the question ( which was direct ), but figured why not, it's a public forum, where we can discuss such things. I have no agenda, aside from asking what I considered to be a legitimate question. If I had had an agenda, I would have voiced it over the many weeks I have following and occassionally contributing to this interesting thread. Agendas aren't really my thing. Maybe I should have phrased my concern differently. The concern is how this looks to those of us who contributed to the PR campaign. That is all. |

What percentage of the Black Coin Card's sales are being ploughed back into the BC project ( I believe you stated previously that this is what is happening ) ? I sent 500BC to help with the cost of this latest PR campaign, and two of the articles focus heavilly on the card. The card is news because we are the first to have a branded card wallet that makes using BC much easier. Everyone has been focusing on the card itself, but have yet to use the software. Once they do they will understand how much of a game changer this will become. Also, I could have easily adapted this concept to dozens of coins and made quadruple the profit. However, I have made this card exclusive to BC. Some proceeds from the sales go to the devs, and to fund future community projects. I am curious how much profit you think my company makes when we ship them for FREE worldwide? Thank you for your kind contribution to the press release and enjoy the 80% gain since 12am EST this morning.The card is definately news. Although I have not bought one I can see the advantages of it being part of the BC ecosystem. Having galvanised individuals visibly putting energy into the project is one of the main reasons why I have been very content to hold the coins that I have purchased, through the various stages we have already been through. But surely, when reading through the release before it went out, you must have wondered whether the question that I raised would appear ? That someone would question why a private enterprise ( that has wider spin-off benefits, granted ), features so prominently in a release that was funded by contributions ? |

I heard that some Afro-American communities is going to sue developers of BlackCoin because of the name. So please would you consider changing the name to something else. If this is true it could have bad impact on BlackCoin, and investors will disappear, and than we can say goodbye to 20$ per coin  Hilarious. I realize the next part of my post is controversial but please consider it:
We need to Promote volume Not price. Being in the top few in volume will attract new money. With BC's limited supply, new money will get us a gradual rise.
Think of it this way. New crypto investors are looking for low prices. When we hype price there are fewer and fewer new crypto investors for BC!
Volume allows for a good trading market. Traders need volume. Traders bring in new money at WHATEVER price.
Now this is the part that if this community embraces will take BC to BTC parity. OK ready?
We need to thwart the pump.
Lets take a stand:
Please do this, plan to sell a specific portion of your holdings at each swing high / new high. I suggest 1 to 5% at swing highs and 10% at new highs. Then, buy back MORE at each swing low.
Please, look at a chart for a previous meaningful swing high (maybe 10 to 20% higher than the current price) and enter your sell orders now! After you get a fill enter your buy order. Of course if you want to commit new money now (4/16 3pm EST) I suggest 10k - you may never get a fill but you might.
If we do this as a community and are disciplined about it we provide volume to the market AND tamp down each trading range. Every time a trading range collapses into a new equilibrium the pool buying will push us into a new higher trading range.
If we do this a community you will own the first alt coin to reach BTC parity.
I ask: Will we be the first community in crypto to GTFU and self-determine the future of our coin?
++ 1000Need to requote this, if we are starting to even out again. The general sentiment has been voiced by a few people, and it's one that I completely agree with. If everyone who stands to make a huge amount of money on the highs were to attempt to fully cash out on the high, they'd never realise their fortune because the market would crash in an instant and the golden goose would ... well ... you complete the sentence If, on the other hand, we take small chunks at regular intervals, then feed back some gains into the system, we would still realise great gains, at a later point, but in a much less stressful and damaging manner. This basic plan needs to be considered and adopted by as many of us as possible. There is no point in trying to co-ordinate as a group. Such attempts at manipulation are bound to fail. If a signifcant number of people follow the basic principles then the system will find its own natural balance. |

++ 1000This is exactly what I did on the last wild ride, although my timing needs refining ! I sold a small percentage at 60k SAT for a very specific reason : recover my original stake and pay off a small personal loan. Before going to bed while BC was still at its dizzying heights, I thought "What the hell, why not place some buy orders at 65k SAT. It'll not drop back there for long, if at all. If it does and rebounds I'll take a small profit." Woke up to find that we'd dropped below that point ( and someone here thanked me for leaving those buy orders while the freefall was in play ). I've learned an interesting lesson, and need, as I say, to refine my timing. But in essense I couldn't agree more with the original point. We need to try to get out of the mindset of instant huge gains, if we're to reap longer term greater benefits. When we pass through 100k SAT I will sell another small percentage, for another very specific reason, plus an additional amount. I will cash out the amount that I need, and keep that additional amount in play, to buy in the next dip. Take small bites. Return a little as grease. Start out with a plan. Stick to the plan. Little and often. |

This is an oblique counter argument to the few people that have suggested that what BC has implemented could very easily be replicated by many other coins.
