941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the new Apple toys & Invest in Bitcoin, history always repeat itself. on: September 14, 2023, 06:07:52 AM
It amazes me how people who are not financially buoyant struggle so much to be socially acceptable based on the wrong things. If you have the money and have numerous investments, buying the new iPhone 15 isn't an issue, it's your money, but if you're a struggling person, a person where money is still your problem why spend that amount of money on a phone that won't last you more that 24 months. In fact after 12 months that phone becomes an older version. I see no reason for that other than peer pressure.

Some might argue they need it for their work, Well, this might be true but are you saying if a new version of an iPhone isn't available you can't do your work?

So I can attest that if you have some BTC, it isn’t always the best idea to dump it for a new shiny thing, although I’m about to make the same mistake with a Tesla.

I have no single right to tell you how to use your money but I'm going to just say it anyway. There's a saying that before you buy a luxury want, make sure you can afford it at least twice. There's no point saving up to buy something that's not a need you can't afford more than one.

If you can easily afford it without having to work your ass off and depriving yourself of other things because you're saving for it then I feel you buy whatever you want. What's the point of having money if you can't spend it?
I hope this doesn't come out as entitlement or policing or anything of the sort.
942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 12, 2023, 10:34:57 PM
From my observers, in their 4 matches in this competition, City has experienced a decline in the quality of goals. City's expectations are too big given the record they have. Even though they carried out their matches smoothly, their goal productivity decreased greatly. except, during the Fulham match. The point is that since Pep has not re-applied his 3-2-4-1 formation pattern, there has been a change in their camp. Luckily Pep is a smart coach and has lots of tactics and strategies, he is now more inclined to implement a 4-2-3-1 system.
In the absence of De Bruyne, Stones, Pep adopted another option as the system he implemented.  It's just that, when facing a slightly stronger team, City has to work hard to win the match. for example, when they played against Newcastle, City was only able to score one goal. However, every team that meets Manchester City must work hard to get good results.

Every season City has won the league this is what people say. You don't expect them to trash every team by 3-6 goals every match day. The other teams too came to win so they're not going to make it easy for Man City.
Liverpool looks like that the team that can give Man City the biggest challenge this season and even then don't win their games effortlessly.

The season just begun. Man City along with many other teams are still finding their rhythm. We know that Man City gets better as the season progresses so these performances are expected.
If they're able to somehow win in these uncomfortable situations imagine how they'll be when they start getting better and have De Bruyne back.
943  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Importance of inviting Newbies to Bitcointalk on: September 12, 2023, 07:52:48 PM
Inviting them to do what? Most of the new people who are spamming the forum are here because of catching the earning opportunity. Sometimes I think if there isn't any signature campaign this forum would lose organic users and activity slowly. If your friends or family recently learned about bitcoin and want to learn more then invite them to this forum. This forum contains core knowledge about bitcoin. This forum was founded by satoshi himself so to be in this fourm and learn from some legends will be a honor.

You were a newbie at a point on this forum. You didn't just come on here and got to the rank you're in today. I guess you must have made one or two mistakes too and had to learn a lot. Why don't give some other people that chance to make their mistakes and learn.

The forum is designed in a way that people can't cut corners. We all have to put in the work. So a member who doesn't put in the work won't get what he wants.
I agree that a lot of newbies are just here for the earnings, but if that's all they focus on they won't actually earn anything if they don't learn. There are also newbies that don't spam and are actually here to learn so you should just allow time separate the weed from the crops.
944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: September 12, 2023, 07:24:46 PM
Do you think the US doesn't know that Iran, for example, uses cryptocurrency for international payments? Moreover, the US should ban dollars if it finds out that dollars are used to sell and buy weapons and drugs. Of course, there is little logic in this. Even if the US declares cryptocurrencies illegal, it will have little impact on cryptocurrencies globally. Remember how China banned it, but then for some reason allowed it again. All of this is simply manipulation.

You're not seeing it the way the US sees it. You're trying to be logical, they don't care about that. They're are very hypocritical. It's how these countries are. You think the US and other state government have an issue with crypto? No they do not. They have a problem with the fact that they can't control it.
If cryptocurrency was something the government own or at least control directly, it would have been legal tender today.

Trust me, if the US know and have prove that Iran uses cryptocurrency for international payments and they've not done anything about it, that's because there's is nothing they can do. But it's only a matter of time.
If countries begin using crypto to evade sanctions then the crypto community should get ready for more heat from the US government.
945  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You can get played by anybody on: September 12, 2023, 09:02:42 AM
This may look very ridiculous but people fall for this scam almost every day. It's just wild out there. Sometimes I try to understand their thought process, I try to understand what anybody at all, talk more figures like Elon Musk and celebrities will want with their seed phase. I guess it's just naivety. That's the only explanation I can come up with. Some people say greed, but I don't think greed alone will do because no matter how greedy a person is he won't fall for such scams if he understands what it means.

Even banks tell their customers that they will never ask them for their login details or card details. So why would anybody think a different person altogether asking for your seed phase or log in details to bank accounts and so on is fine? That kind of scam is too cheap for people to fall so easily.

Sometimes hackers hack the accounts of these influential people and ask their followers to send a certain amount of Bitcoin to their wallets so it can be double back to them. That's just insane. Anybody at all that asked you for that, be it Bitcoin or any other currency is a scammer.
We need to learn.
946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of advice is worth giving such people? on: September 11, 2023, 10:09:24 PM
People can get hacked into everything online. Emails, messages, videos, photos, etc. So if a person feels because of the hacks you cannot buy or own Bitcoin then the person is not ready.
There are other accounts on your phone. Your bank account is on your phone together with other payment systems which can all get hacked if you're not careful.
Getting hacked shouldn't be a reason to discourage you if you know why you want to. It should be like a lesson.

Take your privacy and security seriously. Most people just read stuff about security but as too lazy or nonchalant to carry those instructions out. They have the "it won't happen to me attitude".
It can happen to anyone that doesn't take his security seriously.

I won't advise anyone who's been hacked before to try Bitcoin again so I don't feel partly responsible when shit happens again, but if he still wants to try again, I'll tell him to take the privacy and security tips very seriously and also be on the lookout for updated security tips because hacker and scammers are getting pretty innovative too.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 10, 2023, 07:45:08 PM
It seems like everyone seems happy talking about Joselu and Vinicius until it fills the last page, but you need to know that Modric doesn't seem happy because he is the second choice this season. Ancelotti tended not to play Modric and Kross as his main players earlier this season and tended to play players younger than them. These two senior players only have 1 appearance as a starter in the last 4 matches, but both have been reserve players in the other 3 matches.

Of course, this is not a pleasant situation for Modric and Kross, so there are rumors about a possible immediate departure. In the end, the two senior players had to be left out due to their age, but I believe they are likely to want to appear more as starters even if they have to be replaced in the second half.

They both extended their contract by just one year. They know they're old and will need to move on soon. Modric and Kroos understand this.
But I tell you what, when the season gets tough and Madrid starts playing tough matches in the UCL and the league it will be Modric and Kroos that will start and save Madrid. We saw it last season. There's no midfielder in Madrid as creative as Modric. None of the midfielders in Madrid right now is better than Modric. They are very good ballers.
Ancelotti might feel like he doesn't need them or maybe he just wants to see what these young players have to offer but Modric and Kroos will still take their place.

Camavinga will most likely go back to the right-back position when Cavaja goes on his usual injury in crucial times. Valverde is not starting in midfield ahead of Modric. So that leaves only Bellingham and Tchouameni. Tchouameni is the only DM Madrid has so he might start if Camavinga plays RB.
I believe in tough matches Madrid will play a midfield of Tchouameni, Modric and Bellingham that's if Camavinga is at RB.
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new projects. on: September 09, 2023, 11:15:55 PM
Most of these projects invest a lot in marketing to attract people. They know how to say all the right things and make it seem like you're missing out. Missing out on one project won't be the end, there will always be other projects, so don't make decisions because of your fear of missing out.

To me, the project is just similar to almost every other project out there. It's just all talks and nothing else. All that is needed is a very big marketing budget and the right words to make people think it's a solid project.

6. Nigeria with over 50% muslim population is growing (5.31).

It is still debated that Nigeria is not a dominant Muslim country even if you have seen that in Google, it is subjective.

For the records you have to provide the link that capture the statistical post you made.

The buttom line is your post should be backed up by reference.

What you should have done is bring proof to show that OP is wrong. If you have nothing to disprove his claim then you have nothing to question him with.

A simple Google search shows that Nigeria has 52% Muslims.
The northern part of Nigeria is the most populated and they have about 95% Muslims, the western part have 55% Muslims.
It's very possible easy for Nigeria to be above 50% Muslims like OP stated.

950  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Be Aware of Remitano Change of Address: Don't Send Bitcoins to it Again on: September 08, 2023, 11:30:14 PM
I'm more concerned about the set of people who will not copy their address straight from the wallet whenever they want to transfer BTC into that address.
I'm saying this because since they finished the maintenance you can't copy the old address without generating a new address. So I anybody's Bitcoin is stuck in the old address it means he copied the address from somewhere else where he has saved it or sent it out before.

It doesn't matter how many times you send a particular address out to someone or how many times you copy it, whenever you want to copy again, copy directly from the wallet.

The fact that you're using a centralized exchange is enough reason for you to be extra careful and look out for announcements and updates. We can't just be so careless all of the time.
Like most typical centralized exchanges, Remitano is saying they will not be responsible for any losses.
951  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for September on: September 08, 2023, 11:10:44 PM
Personally, my assumption is that the price of BTC in September will be about the same level with minor fluctuations up and down. In general, the price will remain almost the same.

I agree that everything we say today is just speculation, that's exactly why it's in this section, but decisions will be made based on speculations and we can either win or lose from those decisions.

I feel there will be fluctuations like you say, but I believe Bitcoin will get close to $28k in September.
If all factors remain constant I feel Bitcoin will keep fluctuating like it does normally, but we will see significant increase from time to time.
We just have to pray all factors remain constant.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Preparations for BTC Halving and bull market on: September 08, 2023, 10:46:33 PM
If the market dumps further, I will not panic and if I have more spare money, I may accumulate more bitcoin. I am confident that this bull season will be the best so far as it will be initiated by institutional investors.

It's always good to have a plan. Plans may not always work out but without a plan, it means you're planning to fail.
It will be more beneficial if everyone has plans that work for them. This will make it possible for us not only to use spare money to invest, but we'll have money that we've set aside for investing.

When we plan we might get to a stage where you're buying Bitcoin out of luxury because you have the money to. If we just wait to use only spare money we might never get to where we want because it's not every day we get spare money. There's always a use for money.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 07, 2023, 11:54:21 PM
But losing at home is not normal. This defeat will make it even more difficult for Napoli to become a strong competitor to win the Scudetto.

Winning a league title is very hard because you need consistency. For a team to win the league, especially a league as competitive as the Serie A that team has to be consistent all season.
Right now the only teams in Serie A that have a 100% record are Inter Milan and AC Milan. Only time will tell if they can maintain this consistency.
So Napoli's loss against Milan doesn't count much in the grand scheme of things if they'll be able to sit up and be consistent. The season is still very long and it's too early to determine how it will end
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 07, 2023, 11:41:45 PM
I think it is a well known fact that Real Madrid did not spend heavily on a striker this summer because they are waiting to sign talisman Mbappe from PSG in the next summer transfer window. and this is why Joselu was signed as a stop gap. Instead, Madrid invested in their midfield options heavily; as they prepare to let go of Modric and Kroos in the coming season.

Madrid have to be very careful because these decisions might hunt them later on this season. The season is very long and a lot of things can happen. One thing I know is Bellingham won't keep scoring all season long and they need attackers that can score all season long.
Joselu needs to sit up and take his place as the top 9. He can't be ina team and a midfielder is taking the false 9 position.

Madrid's attack is built around Vinicius which might also be a problem. Last season Vini spearheaded the attack, the good this was Benzema was there to score. If they don't have a striker that can do that this season, they're going to have a lot problems.
955  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe unemployment rate hits record low, employment record up on: September 07, 2023, 09:54:06 PM
Europe has broken all 20 years' records, in both the lowest unemployment level and in the percentage of citizens employed.
Now do purchasing power. The goal shouldn't be having more jobs, the goal should be being able to make a living.

--Knight Hider

Is there any other continent that has a higher purchasing power than Europe? If you want to use purchasing power are a metric then you have to also look at other factors like GDP, per Capita income, etc. If you use all these Europe is still good.

In terms of wealth Distribution Europe is second to North America so no matter the metric you want to use Europe is still good all things considered.

You said the goal shouldn't be more jobs, it should be "making a living", How are people supposed to make a living if they don't have jobs?
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins profits or bank profits, which best? on: September 07, 2023, 03:18:08 PM
You are missing one important detail. Very often large sums are invested not to make money, but to preserve the value of the original investment. Large capitals aim not to increase their assets, but to preserve them, so that bank interest covers inflationary costs and does not contribute to the depreciation of monetary assets.

Wow!
I didn't know about this. I always thought the interest was purely the profit.
This means they only make a profit when there is no inflation or high inflation which is very rare.
This makes it even less compelling for common folks who want to invest because to them they've earned an interest meanwhile all they got is just the pre-inflation value of their money.

By the way, large hedge funds also work according to such principles, where people bring their money not to earn on it. People with large capitals have a slightly different mindset than ordinary low-banks.
Then it's just the same thing as putting your money in a bank account. I don't know how things are in your country, but in mine, you don't earn any interest on the money in your bank account except if it's a "fixed deposit account" or a "time deposit account" where you agree not to touch the money for a specific period.

They claim to give interest if it's a savings account but they never do. Even if the money stays untouched for over 5 years in the account.
957  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome on: September 06, 2023, 10:59:33 PM
There was a particular time on social media where it was like if you were not into Bitcoin you'll never make it in life. I'm not even exaggerating this. It was that bad. The Bitcoin wave was so high it felt like Bitcoin was the only way to success. This was during the bull run that led to the ATH.
There were a lot of people who bought Bitcoin for the wrong reason, some just bought because they wanted to feel among themselves. They didn't understand it.

What's funny is they all left after Bitcoin crashed down to $16k and now they are never going to come back. This is because they did not have the right understanding of what Bitcoin is.
Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It's a currency that's way better than the best currency you can think of and can also be an investment if you're patient enough.

When people lack an understanding of what Bitcoin is they wash their hands off of it after the first setback. The bad news is, a lot of people people out there see Bitcoin as what it's not.
958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Calm the pressure on: September 06, 2023, 10:09:54 PM
This advice is driven from the view point of the economy struggles of many, avoid over thinking , work hard to earn money and diversify your investment. Most persons in the crypto space are dying in the inside because they do not have money to invest due to their present circumstance. If you do not have money to invest now, please ease the pressure, you may have more than enough to invest in the future.

This is very underrated advice.
A lot of people feel left out, they feel they're missing out because they don't have money to invest. Yes, true, you might truly be missing out, but if the reason is because you lack the funds to invest then don't beat yourself up.
If you don't have money to invest in Bitcoin, and you're focused on investing in Bitcoin then you're misplacing your priorities.
Your priority should be how to earn more money.
You can either get a job or start a business, whichever it is, but get something that gives you money.
It's people who have money that invest in a project, any investment at all, not just Bitcoin.

So instead of putting pressure on yourself because you don't have money to own Bitcoin, why not channel that energy into something else that will make you earn money?

Also, the good thing about Bitcoin is that you can buy it with any amount you have. Don't look at the price. Just see it as your little investment. That can motivate you. If you can invest when you are not making much, how much more will you do when you have?
You can always start small.
959  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Population decline - The largest challange ahead on: September 06, 2023, 09:51:08 PM
The wrong thoughts we mist have about the instability of the economy is in thinking that poor economy growth is as a result of over population of the human and many have wrongfully thought about this by reducing the number of children they are giving birth to, i don't think the solution is in reducing the birth rate, infact we need a higher population to help boost the economy because there will be enough division of labour and work force in every aspect of production and services delivery in the economy and as we know the impact a population has towards the economy, it boost and increase it's activities and development, if the population is reduced, that does not assure a positive end results in economy activities, but adequate planning is what is needed to organize the people into a unified structure.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's any country that has not been able to develop further because of low population. Like I said, I might be wrong. I feel like we're at that stage where we can't be truly underpopulated.
One thing people mistake for underpopulation is an uneven distribution of people in the towns and cities of countries. In most countries today people flood to the urban areas. People want to live and work in the relatively more developed cities. This makes the rural areas and less developed places to be less populated.
There are countries where over 20 million people are crowded in a small region while there are vast places occupied by only 300,000 people.

This is no fault of the residents who relocate, it's because they're in search of a better life. There are better opportunities in the bigger cities.

On a personal note, I'll take under-population over over-population.

I disagree that population collapse is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming.
There is a higher risk of flooding these days. Farmer take out loans for their farms and the farms get destroyed by floods. What's worse is that there is a high probability that this will happen every year.
Some places don't see rain much often before, now they even see less amount of rain. So many irregularities in the weather.

If we can be able to make life better, and train people in different areas that they want to get trained in then we won't have an issue of under-population at this stage.
Why would people give birth if they think or know they can't provide for their kids?
I don't believe the labor force has reduced, but if it truly has, did it reduce due to low population or due to low-skilled workers?
960  Economy / Economics / Re: Any business where today you launch, tomorrow you begin making profit...? on: September 06, 2023, 10:03:00 AM
Yes, all type of illegal businesses brings the fastest money, start cooking your own drugs and sell, and you will turn into a big man in weeks, get a webcam and start doing onlyfans, you will make money very quickly, or start running a body ring, you should know what I meant.

There's this popular believe that illegal things bring money immediately you start them. That's not entirely true. It may be true in some cases, but very few cases. This believe has made people to not work hard and do illegal things instead. Hard work is still needed if you want to be successful in that illegal business. So why not just channel that hard work into something good.

If a person starts cooking up drugs today it doesn't mean he will start making money immediately. There are things he needs to do first, same way it would be in a legal business.
An Internet fraudster doesn't just start making money immediately he starts. He learns and gains experience for a while. This is exactly how it is in an legal online business too.

People need to stop rushing things. Have a plan. Be diligent in your trade and learn. It will definitely grow if you're doing it right. We need to stop looking for riches overnight.
