941  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Bitcoin Investment in Nigeria on: November 13, 2023, 08:35:04 PM
Bitcoin investment dey very important for this our society and  any person wey don get the knowledge of bitcoin and invest go benefit from bitcoin.
I dey sabi see this thread for this forum wey people dey compare real estate investment and bitcoin investment, even for social media most people dey compare this two sometimes but I see no need comparing the both because both get their differences. But for me as a Nigerian I think bitcoin investment is very important so I will choose bitcoin investment. Bitcoin investment na 50/50 but I still prefer bitcoin investment and any person wey reason this matter for Nigeria go prefer bitcoin investment.
Reasons why bitcoin investment is important in Nigeria:
Firstly let me compare the issue about real estate investment and bitcoin investment.
  • before owning an estate, we need to consider the land and most land for Nigeria dey very low due to the nature of the land, so person wey wan buy land for estate investment needs to consider this factors, like for my state the land them low wella so any little rain water dey come underground for some area and people wey find themselves for this kind area and them wan build estate how person wan do?
  • flooding for Nigeria na the common thing wey dey affect houses but I thank God say this year the flood wahala no come. Everybody know say when this flood don come e dey enter houses and e dey affect estate (building) and e dey affect estate owners too because people go pack out, but in my own view na investors dey face the major challenge.
  • After this flood the house no go get beauty again and the house no go dey attractive and estate owners get bring back that beauty of the house with huge amount of money like painting the house
  • Secondly most people no go like to live for area wey dey flooded every year because of the stress of packing and other things so why not find another estate wey no dey flooded, me personally if I find estate wey flood dey enter every year me self no go rent that house because I hate stress, how do I mean by the stress, most people no sabi swim for this country and in times like this things dey happen even who sabi swim is not advisable due to the erosion so is better to avoid flooded areas, so if everybody dey run from flooded area/house how the investors wan do and this na the common challenges estate owners dey face for Nigeria that's why I prefer bitcoin investment cause is more secure and safe. No be for only naija other countries wey dey engage for war and fight, bringing down of buildings with bomb etc. Just like the war going on in israel and Palestine, so for that kind country I no advice any person to choose real estate investment
  • in Nigeria, mostly my locality, estate investment is not lucrative and as I said, there are many factors that affect estate investment, hotel owners in my city are also complaining the low patronage by customers, therefore bitcoin investment is preferable in this generation.
While bitcoin investment has to do with you and your money no other person to control your money. The only thing person need to know before investing na to get knowledge of bitcoin/ investment, how to secure your seed phrase, keep your bitcoin holding a secret, stop following social media influencers trying to advertise crypto(bitcoin), ignore unknown contacts discussing about bitcoin investment. Bitcoin investment has to do with privacy and smartness.
I saw a thread talking about bitcoin investment and Dangote, saying if Dangote had invested on bitcoin earlier he would have been the 6th richest man in the world and that's just the truth, but as I reason this matter no be only Dangote, our politicians too. Naija politicians na people wey sabi hide their wealth normally EFCC no dey allow them rest when it comes to property and wealth, we fit testify say most of our politicians has been arrested just because of their wealth and just if our politicians can invest half or little of their wealth on bitcoin it would have been better rather they keep using dollar, I see bitcoin as a private investment, if you no tell person, person no go know so I don't think EFCC can verify these politicians money on crypto(bitcoin), I don't know if our politicians have the knowledge about bitcoin cause I made my research and I saw a news where ex vice president professor Yemi Osinbajo was addressing Nigeria government not to ban bitcoin but bitcoin should be regulated.
Even if CBN government no wan accept crypto(bitcoin), they cannot change the fact that Bitcoin as a decentralize currency is more better than fiat. Nowadays we don't trust bank workers anymore, sometimes  I see stories online how bank workers scam customers
942  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One crazy thing that most Nigerians do that affect our savings over time on: November 12, 2023, 07:45:10 PM
First time I think say you wan tell us how buying of Airtime dey finish our money, but this thing wey you talk you dey sure say na true matter?? Because I never hear about this one before. You buy from bank or you buy from shop na still money you go use. But let's just consider the stress, going out just to buy Airtime outside lol, why not buy from your bank instead. You spending 70% of your money on data that one na normal sha, everybody make use of the Internet always and now data no dey last again but now you're talking about Airtime for calls that one na wahala oh, now hardly people make calls even business people prefer to chat online. I don't see how buying airtime from the bank affects our savings. But most people cannot control themselves, I will support the opay method cause each time I buy Airtime from my opay I get a cash back in return

I can't believe my eyes that Chelsea Draw Arsenal, won Tottenham, and at this point holding Manchester City on an entertaining first-half draw, what a great performance against the big-name teams this season, and not only that their performance in this game against Manchester has been incredible, especially with the number of saves from Chelsea's keeper, What a super save from that close range strike from Erling Haaland.

From my observation of this game and looking at how both teams are scoring each other goals and the other equalizing almost a few minutes later, likely the game may end draw.
To be honest if this match is attractive more than chelsea vs totenham. This match is so crazy. My heart gets pumped. So many attacks between chelsea and city. This match is so crazy.
I would like to call this as a quality match even though city being placed at the bottom but this is so crazy. I never expect chelsea to play as good as manchester city. I can't imagine if this was another club like MU.

Chelsea's game play has been improving so significant. I cna't even describe how crazy this game is. The supporters are also feeling it now. Chelsea and city are trying to go all in. I think that all of people who are watching this match are also feeling the same like me. This match is so crazy as fuck. This is so damn good.

Glad i have time to watch this.
At first I was like chelsea should not bring joy they can't end cause i was like Manchestercity  will still win this match and the match today was so interesting, both Chelsea and Manchestercity felt the impact of this match. I didn't expect this kind of energy from Chelsea today. Just so happy for the come back
944  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Trading vs. Hodl - Which group do you belong to? on: November 12, 2023, 01:06:04 PM
I personal don't have any idea about trading but what have heard about trading it's better to hodl. For example most people trading most especially the newbies they might likely lose there money and I see trading like sportybet infact both of them are competing lol. And secondly why I will choose to hodl, the amount people spend everyday to learn how to trade like paying for tutoral classes only is very expensive. I saw a story on fb where the guy was lamenting that he spent his house rent money just to trade crypto and he could not get his profit back, in this kind situation will the person still choose to trade?
But still yet there are a lot of people earning money from trading crypto, choose what you're good at and choose wisely.
945  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: As e dey hot, MTN clear debt owned by their users on: November 11, 2023, 09:55:11 PM
If you are online in social media, you would have seen that MTN has announced that it was a glitch in the system, and all customers that have seen their debt not reflecting will reflect it after they have resolved the technical problem, so in this case, I see no reason to be happy because you will still pay that money back.
Glitch or not I think this is a prank as na naija we dey na everything don turn cruise if this was an error things like this for don dey happen but for the history of mtn I never hear anything like this before, and now there's no service for people to borrow airtime again, at first I saw the post on IG and I thought it was a joke I tired it and there's no service. Tbh anything they want to do they should do it but they should stop playing with people, almost everybody don happen just to hear say na glitch
946  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Demystifying living a private life and your bitcoin on: November 11, 2023, 08:38:39 PM
This guy got robbed, got his Binance funds stolen, and after all... He took a picture of his upside-down room, and uploaded it to Twitter. Hasn't he learned his lesson yet?
Nope, he is looking for compassion online which he may get and also may get more criminals attention.
Disheartening to see that he is tracking the criminal and he still have the mind to post this online and makes his plans public.
Hope he will relocate and live a more private life to avoid really losing his life.
I don't believe this, the guy is not even smart enough cause I see no reason snapping your room and screenshotting your  binance asset after been robbed this shows the level of stupidity. I really don't know where this guy is coming from but it likely he might be expecting another robbers sooner or later. The op actually emphasize on keeping your crypto asset  a secret and that's the right thing to do for example this is not the first time he's screenshotting his coins online, cause how will those robbers know he has a coin?.
From what I read I don't see any compassion or sympathy rather he's trying to show off, there are better ways to ask for help not posting your problems on social media for people to comment and see what you're passing through. the fact is keep your crypto holding a secret to avoid necessary problems

                        Arsenal Vs Burnley

Arsenal has shown good level of confidence in this game, though theywhere leading 1-0 during the first half. Burnley equalised some minutes into the second half making it 1-1, arsenal replied almost immediately with a goal from saliba, making 2-1.
The game stands at 3-1 as arsenal are gaining more momentum as they are releasing more arsenals on Burnley.
One player that has been part of the arsenal engine room but is a bit silent is Declan Rice, that guy is a working engine.

Although Arsenal managed to win this match, but I was a little disappointed when Burnley managed to score in the second half. Because anyway, I was betting on Arsenal -1.5 and because Burnley managed to make an equalizer to 1-1 then Arsenal needed even greater efforts to be able to win by a difference of 2 goals. But yes, fortunately Arsenal can reply goal quickly and changing the scoreboard to 2-1, until finally Arsenal managed to make another goal to 3-1. But unfortunately, even though Arsenal have led with a score of 3-1 but still, Fabio Vieira got a red card in the 83rd minute and at least, it could make Arsenal threatened again, but hopefully Arsenal will be able to maintain the 3-1 score until the match ends.
Before the red card came in, the deed already has been done, so Arsenal were already balance. Yeah when Burnley scored that goal I really thought, the fight was going to be tougher, but that second goal by arsenal seems to weaken the rekindle spirit Burnley had, because it's was just some few minutes difference.
I knew Arsenal will win this match so I actually predicted Arsenal for the win, yeah the second goal weaken Burnley but they are the ones that actually weaken themselves, sometimes that's football for me anyone can score at anytime. But Arsenal this time brought out their A game and the defence this time was brilliant. In my opinion Arsenal will go far this season besides Arsenal stands second in premier league table so they should improve more on their goals because this past last week Arsenal went low in the priemer league table
948  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When Godfather-ism becomes a problem in Nigeria on: November 11, 2023, 02:32:39 PM
Wetin you talk na true, this thing dey common for everywhere na why anytime them wan leave the seat them dey like put their brother or godson. But sometimes I like this godfatherism because na who get godfather go enjoy the benefit just like if you get godfather wey be governor at least you sef go benefit, but in this case of wike and Joseph Fubara fight, many reasons fit dey but as we no know the cause make we no just dey follow all this bloggers dey predict for me Wike never come out talk, Fubara never come out talk the issue but every body dey suspect say na oppression, wike has ruled river state for eight good years and at a point I called Wike the best governor in Nigeria, bro, the guy dey do project like ehh Wike really try for river state most especially the capital so wetin be the oppression for? Wetin wike dey tell am to do wey he no wan do? Although some people like to do there own things there own way regardless of anyone.
Firstly this thing dey common for Nigeria and e good make godson obey he godfather. Wike for no just choose Fubara if he no agree to the terms and condition, If not of Wike I no sure say Fubara for dey that seat so since he agreed to what Wike said he should bear it rather than fighting the one that gave him the power. All this one na why Nigeria go dey backward, this one no be lie ooh even my state dey suffer from this nonsense wey them call godfathrism and godson, anything godfather talk godson go listen. Fubara should just obey rather than causing chaos in the state
949  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: November 11, 2023, 06:04:57 AM
in every country different rules that the government applies to women but for my own country there are none, so that between women and men have the same rights and there are no special rules, and the impact of the equal rights can be said 35% of macro businesses have been carried out by a woman and most women running micro-enterprises it is 40-45% higher, but basically in business and work men dominate because 70% of women in my country prefer to be housewives
this is my personal opinion by looking at the environment around me

Even today women are given more rights than men. As long as they have the ability and ability to take on the responsibility, they can do anything that we men can do.
Yeah it's said that what men can do women can do more better, but talking about right am not sure, Why making it look bad, like in my area women are given lesser privilege so I see women fighting through for example, when we come to the politics asspet women are not given the privilege just like what happened early march in my country a lady won the governorship election but she was not given the power to rule. But in business asspet everyone is given equal right to own and manage a business so it all depends on the person.

NOTE:: please all newbie should not take update as discouragement but as a challenge to improve their post in the forum because anyone who shy away from advice never seem to grow in knowledge and other aspects of life

This your trend make sense, e show say una wan really  carry the newbies along here, I dey very conscious about making this place spam free at least from my own side and to the rest of the newbies, I get people wey I dey look up to and they were once newbie like myself and in other to grow and have a good reputation I understand what I must do. Anti spamming post don dey and the thing be say person wey wan spam go still spam but a word is enough for the wise.
The simple truth be say make everybody respect themselves, how? If u no get anything to post just leave am no force yourself abi adward dey to post? As senior men for the forum don come out to talk about the low quality post for the forum alteast make change dey small and with wetin I dey see changes don dey because the first time ehhn I dey see unnecessary topics and discussion wey no go help newbies like me. Firstly any newbie wey vex say person correct am no ready to learn because without correction person no go fit grow and now I dey see talk like "if you're correcting a newbie please correct the person in a good manner" na true sha but some people for here no sabi control themselves in essence regardless of what we are saying some people go still correct newbie in a harsh manner.
951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not perfect, and that's okay. on: November 10, 2023, 08:26:48 PM
I don't see how the statements made by the OP will be considered flaws because that is the characteristic of bitcoin—the nature of bitcoin itself. In fact, that is the beauty of bitcoin: its unique technology and characteristics that give investors opportunities. Volatile? I don't see that as a flaw. Yes, maybe from its word, but in bitcoin, it means profit potential. If there's no movement in the market, then there's no profit.

I agree with all the OPs who stated that not all things are perfect, even bitcoin. Yes, it can be subject to crimes and wrong deeds, but that is not the fault of bitcoin; the ones to blame are the people who commit the crimes.

So no matter what, I will still believe and do bitcoin stuff as long as I gain profit from it. This technology still has a lot to discover and can be applied to other technologies and daily lives.

There are a lot of things that have actually flaws, even other alternative investment also involves flaws cause there's no such thing as pros without cons. Bitcoin's volatility is one of the reasons why it's not yet used as an everyday currency cause you wouldn't want to sell something valuable when Bitcoin's value is low. We were just taking advantage of its volatility by simply buying at low and then selling at its highest price. But yeah from the investor's perspective, it might not be considered a flaw since that is the reason for our profits cause volatility is actually normal.
I think now in this modern world everyone wants something good even criminals, terrorist etc and it's likely said by people that bitcoin funds terrorist and putting the blame on bitcoin rather than blaming the terrorist but we can't help so we keep defending bitcoin, I don't see any flaws about bitcoin the fact is even those terrorist knows the important and it has to do with privacy so they go for it and all this should be attributed to bad government. This is actually normal cause if we want to count investments that has flaws we should be ready to mention all investments.
I don't see any need talking about volatility in bitcoin cause  investors benefit from the volatility, without the fluctuating  price of bitcoin then we should not call it an investment, I will rather call it a store of value but the fact remains that investors take advantage of the volatility.
952  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 09, 2023, 09:48:37 PM
I think we should know the worth of the perfume first before we can judge, like most people they believed they worked hard for the money and they want to spend it on themself just like spoiling themself and I don't see anything wrong there. If someone is complaining  of such thing I think the person should upgrade himself when it comes to financial matters and work rather than talking about a rich person buying a perfume worth the salary, to be honest this is the first time am hearing about this, in this modern world how can a perfume worth your salery despite the hard economy this is very wrong. But if anyone can buy a perfume worth someones salary i think we should call such a person rich, and talking about investment who knows cause most rich men are into investment. But in a situation when the person is not wealthy  i see no need spending much on perfume rather than investing the money. But the fact is if every one is satisfy and contented like meeting his needs I think that's financial freedom.
953  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The importance of taking Beer ( Alcohol) in moderation on: November 08, 2023, 07:56:09 PM
Lol. The funny part for this matter wey dey make me laugh be say some of them know the effect ohh some doctors don already tell them to stop the intake of alcohol but them no wan hear word because most people when them dey observe changes for body them don rush go hospital but the ones wey dey ignorant about this matter I dey call them mumu people because na ignorance na dey kill person. But I really love this thread because e dey talk about health and I wished if every alcohol addict can learn to change the rate of diabete go reduce for our society but sometimes women con dey get this illness pass men why, most women during the period of pregnancy the intake of sugary things dey too much not all sha but few people wey love sugary things and that period na them dey develop am but after that time if propal treatment is given to the patient then the person will be alright, sometimes no be only alcohol dey cause this diabete sometimes the least thing the common thing wey we no care about na dey  kill person
954  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Invest in Bitcoin When U No Dey Do Anything. on: November 08, 2023, 07:24:55 PM
This one wey you talk about bitcoin investment na true, no be only bitcoin investment things like this dey happen for business wella, most people when them try open small business na them go still use their hand milk the business dry, wetin I don observe for this bitcoin investment make person no borrow money invest or make person no put huge hope for bitcoin and for this kind matter wey person no get work or business wey dey give am money and the person con decide to invest except the person wan use bitcoin gamble cause  the thing dey abnormal na, the matter just dey like pikin wey never learn how to sit down well the pikin wan rush creep . op I understand your point make person no invest for bitcoin without a job all in the name say him dey find fast money
955  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 07, 2023, 08:28:59 PM
Well I don't know the right answer to this question cause this has to do with circumstances, conditions and life. My lecturer will always say anywhere live places you that's where you will be, that's why after graduating from the university some will first buy a car while others are still waiting, some might even get a good job while others no job. Someone can be financially stable at age 40,50 and above that's live for them but our society now see people like that as useless and lazy people which is not right. Most people get married at age 60 but we can't question that or ask the right age for marriage. But it's better everyone should work hard to live a better life and also we should remember that money does not grow on tree people work hard for it. But in a situation where the person lavish his money at an early age and forgets to save for the future, in my opinion why will a man with money spend lavishly and decide to save the money at age 30 that's what I call foolishness what happened to age 20,25, my opinion is anytime God blesses you, you start planning for your future.
956  Economy / Economics / Re: How to avoid over expenses and have discipline on: November 07, 2023, 06:30:44 PM
I think the easiest way for those of you who want to avoid excessive expenses to save your money in people who can manage your money, for example if your wife is good at managing money then trust her to manage your finances, in my opinion the average woman is good at managing money, if Do not have a wife, so the choice is your mother, it's much better for those of you who cannot control your desires.

With a note that you know they can control finances, if they are the same as you I think you only have to try more to discipline yourself in managing finances.

It is tough to save money these days since there are too many bills to pay, and if you have children, how do they manage with all the expenses? It is not easy for everyone. You make plans, and then additional problems emerge from nowhere. If you have a good wife who manages money properly, you are fortunate. The majority of women in this generation do not want to work because all they worry about is the male addressing all of their problems, which causes the man to be unstable.
I think if you differentiate your needs from want you will be able to save your money, I personally don't want to talk about needs but we humans can't do without need cause it's essential but I see want as satisfying your desire when it's not necessary like buying ice cream, going for shopping etc, I understand your point having a supportive wife that's willing to support the family now in this generation is rare.
But the op actually mentioned making a realistic budget I think that will help if everyone can keep to the budget list and secondly making a family budget doesn't stop anyone from living a luxury life, the problem is most people fail to understand how to spend their money and they find themselves running short of money, making a budget shows how dicispline a person is when it comes to financial matters.
But the 24 hours rule it sounds as an oppression cause as a family man sometimes expenses comes unexpected.
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and misinformation on: November 07, 2023, 04:41:06 PM
The honest truth here is let them think what they want to think, let them say trash about bitcoin because it doesn't even affect bitcoin so I don't see any reason you convincing anyone about bitcoin when the person is not willing and ready to learn. Sometimes the people talking trash about bitcoin saying bitcoin is a scam spreading false news about bitcoin  is either bitcoin stands as a threat to them or their business. The funniest part is when blogger or influencer spread false news about bitcoin people who are not educated will decide to listen to this information.
958  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Using the fuel subsidy money to invest in bitcoin for the country economy on: November 06, 2023, 07:30:07 PM
My people shey una see how the fuel subsidy removal has affected our economy. I keep asking my self what would have been the situation of the country economy if the president on his inaugural speech had said we are ending fuel subsidy and now we are using that same amount of money paid for subsidy and investing it on Bitcoin. And also made a bold declaration that the country has lifted all the ban placed on financial institutions facilitating cryptocurrency transactions and asked the central bank to unblock all accounts that has been blocked due to cryptocurrency transactions.
I think this would have strengthened our Naira against the USD.

I am a Bitcoin enthusiast but I believe if the president on his inauguration speech make a statement of removing subsidy and using the money to invest in Bitcoin would spark lots of controversy especially from those who aren't crypto-currency enthusiast, we have to understand that the country is ran by an elderly man and many people still running the country are elder citizens so they aren't familiar with Crypto-currency that aside if he goes on with it and there be a bear market the country would come for him, I think that move is a good one but would create lots of backlash.
This thing wey you talk no be so, you made reference of our leader wey be elderly man that one no mean because every leader needs to consider the choice of the masses I think putting the citizens choice first should be considered by all leader no be this nonsense our leaders dey do before coming out for an election to rule citizens abi na the citizens vote na so na our choice na suppose come first, even if he decide to invest in bitcoin no be him go do am na he will assign a bitcoin expect to do that. I no see anything wey wrong for this thing regardless of what people will say, even people wey no like crypto(bitcoin) definitely no be everybody go like am but people wey no like am go just adapt to am for example make we see how the fuel sudsidy removal dey affect everybody but government no even care them no mind ohh this fuel subsidy was removed to increase workers salary but still yet no salery increased still yet na government them dey thief the money e for better make them invest this money for bitcoin, bear market no dey stay for ever definitely bull market go still come

Person wey no get money no fit invest no be by force sha but any person wey get little business fit start to invest regardless of the economy. I saw one thread yesterday, Akara seller don save money to start up bitcoin investment so I con surprise because even the least person wey like to invest go invest

I love the word hodl wisely, most newbie like me fail to hodl wisely due to some reasons or I don't know sometimes for the love of quick money forgetting that bitcoin investment does not work like that. Most people get over excited about bitcoin investment and they end up falling into the hands of scammers. I don't know if this is common in crypto like in fiat, when an individual just create a new bank account they're high chance falling a victim to the hands of scammers so I don't know if this is also in crypto(bitcoin) because the number of victims who fall into the trap of scammers are just too much. Ever since I joined this forum, this forum has enlighten me more about bitcoin investment and tips to secure bitcoin hodling. Last two weeks I read how a lady got scammed and how it happened she also said she took the investment advert about bitcoin on Facebook, that's why I don't like following people advertising crypto online they're all scammers. Secondly I personally as a newbie starting my bitcoin journey I don't give attention to Unkown contact trying to talk about bitcoin investment.
