A wake up call to all lower rank members in our prestigious local board

Good day to everyone,

I am actually writing this post prior to the recent happening on the local board and I know this would have been hard on some newbie who are actually trying to just get involved and atleast earn some merits to grow, but like other senior member have said, spamming the local board isn't actually the right way to go about it.
The recent thread created about cleaning the local board shouldn't be taken as discouragement by any newbie or any lower rank like myself as to make them shy away from the Local board but as a challenge to all of us to try as much as possible to be creative enough and improve our ourselves in discussion and creation of thread related to Bitcoin and other SUB BOARD that will soon be added to the LB, hopefully if possible.

The senior member like agbe, Charles-Tim, brainboss, igebots, and so many more are just trying their best to help this board grow and improve our post quality here in the forum at large but the fact that everyone was once a newbie is still there and must have faced the challenge one or more times.

NOTE:: please all newbie should not take update as discouragement but as a challenge to improve their post in the forum because anyone who shy away from advice never seem to grow in knowledge and other aspects of life

I think this coming from a newbie will make more sense to the newbies than when it come from the older guys. This issue have lingered here and I suggest we all grab the message already and face the bigger things.

While we also focus on post quality and how to make here better and more engaging, I hope we are building our Bitcoin portfolios? I have repeatedly said this because I know how important it will be for us all to own Bitcoin before the next bull market. There is already enough information here for anyone willing to start this journey of Bitcoin accumulation.  

I actually feel somehow seeing that lots of the OGs who own huge stash of Bitcoin are not omo Naija even when we know say Naija no dey carry last. E be like we dey last for that one yet and I want that to change.

The purpose of that thread was to warn and encourage us to be centered on the main aim of the forum and the Local Board which is Bitcoin related discussions.

This your thread is also a reminder to make appropriate contribution instead of spamming the board with political news that have nothing to do with this forum; I believe everyone wants to create thread which is not necessary unless a very important discussion that is beneficial to us all. I hope we all take note and keep the board clean.

While we also focus on post quality and how to make here better and more engaging, I hope we are building our Bitcoin portfolios? Very important reminder as the bitcoin market is taking a step further. It is not too late yet to invest in bitcoin and other coins that have potentials, but lets be careful and invest in the right coin especially people going for altcoins, lets no follow hype make we do research before we invest.

Have you noticed that since the thread came up in the board, the kind of post you find here has changed to a very large extent?

I guess that the purpose of the caution is gradually yielding positive result and I'm happy it has helped the board in the right way. Our snr men in the forum serves as leaders and role model to those of us coming up and it would be bad that they will see us going outside of the reason why the board was created and not encourage us to do better.

When I joined the board the first thing I observed was the kind of thread our board members makes here and I just followed suit not until the thread came up that I got my thought process shaped in line with the purpose of the board and I'm working on only creating threads that is bitcoin related or at least informative and educative enough.

I think, once in every stage we clamor for, if we don't trade with extreme caution; we in one way or another received some slap on the face, and that's what actually made us to kick stronger and harder and become more wise to learn the better ways. We learn from our mistakes; that's why we make corrections. Some scolding of newbies is not to scare them off but to make them strong. Today we are proud that we have some reputable members that we are looking up to, and definitely in the future, some people should be looking up to us. If a newbie refuses to learn now, how do they want to set an example for others?

I remember when i join dis forum di off topics for our local board no be like dis, infact na more of bitcoin related topics we de enjoy for di board. That time every month wey chairman Igebotz, go update our local board review, di kind comments wey our members de make for the thread na how happy wey dem de say di quality of posts for our board de increase. Plus di SatoPrincess, monthly btc reward for quality post, we im de take encourage upcoming members to de  focus on quality posts for di board. Aldo i reason say we need some off topics  to de spice our bitcoin related discussions for here, so we go fit to digress sometimes discuss other meaningful topics wey we fit to learn something valuable from. But as most of our newbies and even some experienced members come de start off topics wey no fit to add any value for us come tire me. Dat na why i come de happy say our senior ogas dem come do di right thing to caution di new trend.

Las las for dis matter e go make sense if we get sub board for our local board, to de carter for off topics E surprise me say 90% of other local boards get dem own sub boards, and as we de active reach, we no come get any one.

In addition to wetting you dey talk, I think most of the reason why this things come plenty like this na because of unnecessary threads wey Dem dey creat. I think if person no fit create useful thread wey better, make the person just comment on already created or existing ones. No be every body wey sabi creat thread. I think person need to check were you dey good at. Some people dey good for commenting. you fit just dey comment dey improve until you martured for here. Creating of regular unnecessary threads dey reduce person value and e dey show how in-martured person dey. You ft get merits by just commenting reasonably. naim be my own idea of how them fit reduce most shitposting.

E dey sweet me say this advice dey come from fresher to em fellow newbie, I like the fact say you get sense to give this kind of quality advice to newbies. I don tok this thing before and I go tok am again, if you like literally drag the ears of these noobs and shout it in their ears, who wan spam go spam. You can only force the horse to stream but can't force it to drink water.
When you think a topic has been stressed upon, you go wake to see another one with the same message but a different title.
 You do well to get the development of the forum at heart but instead of repeating what has been talked about, why not focus on other things more helpful.
This advice coming from a newbie will be swept under the carpet by your fellow noobs because they feel you're just like them and as your leg never strong for here, to them, you no get  much to offer..

Good one mate, and I believe this coming from a lower rank like yourself would send some message to others to actually step up their game and start making quality post or replies here. With your stats yourself, I can see that your  recent improvement has been good because your written and involvement has changed greatly and this is what we need here in the forum because improvement actually shows that you are growing and I think if everyone should emulate this then they wouldn't be any problem to such deal like spam posting or shit posting here in our local board.

This your trend make sense, e show say una wan really  carry the newbies along here, I dey very conscious about making this place spam free at least from my own side and to the rest of the newbies, I get people wey I dey look up to and they were once newbie like myself and in other to grow and have a good reputation I understand what I must do. Anti spamming post don dey and the thing be say person wey wan spam go still spam but a word is enough for the wise.

If we all want to be centered in the existing topics only, most newbies won’t have a say in most of the conversations that are bitcoin related. What they can do is just to watch what other members who understands bitcoin more are discussing there. This will lead to less discussion in the local board which is what we don’t want in the local board now. Newbies should beware of irrelevant topics that has no meaning or add value to this community they are sharing it to, this is basically the spam most of the senior members are talking about. Learning takes time and we know they’re all learning gradually but that shouldn’t make them spam the board with unnecessary posts.

Some of us newbie are just too anxious and full of anxiety maybe due to what he or she has been told about the benefits that the forum provides and how possible is it for him or she to enjoy these privileges, so they tend to go all wild with their posting thinking that's the way to earn merits faster and start enjoying these benefits where as that's actually the most wrongful way to go about it. Well first I won't lie, I was a victim of such even stoop so low at the point of even using AI help to construct some writing and aid me in discussion but that was then until I was PM and correct that those are the wrong way to follow and since I have tried my very best to learn as much as possible and contribute my best in every discussion where I know my knowledge will be useful and that's why I am encouraging all lower rate like me to put in their best and hep improve and represent our glorious nation here and every other formal place.

Na wetin dey my mind you just talk like this. Everyone of us wan succeed for this forum and if you get person wey wan show you way, you go like follow am but if the person wan drag you or embarrass you, you no go too like am. Even you wey talk this thing know say e no go possible. Even for general board e no go dey possible because the thing go become boring. Wetin you wan dey discuss about bitcoin every day like that? The best thing now na to get sub board wey politics and other related issues will be discussed and the main bitcoin talk for here. Yes, your right. Ever since it boss Agbe and other senior members took action on the shitposting matter, i have been seeing good post on the LB. Sometime a little action needs to be taken if not human wont change.
At least make we maintain this our current posting style we go see how the LB go they. Nothing bad wey be say wen them they talk about LB way get better members them go call our own.

Again, I fully appreciate everyone who have put interest to bring about this change and i pray it continue and we should not deviate instead i pray for more improvement.
