There will be a public test net, but they haven't announced the date. They prolonged the development phase because of recent events (BTC-E fall, numerous ICO’s scamming) and that caused some shift in the deadlines. It's better to preapare it more rather than throw some date and missed it later. |

It's not a significant split. It's just a fraction of the miner want to increase the blocksize and the rest of the community just want to leave it the same. But a lot of people don't understand and got scared by the fud. Maybe they will comeback later when they have more support to cause and cause another split in the community.

I haven't seen any bitcoin game related project so far, but if it's ethereum based then there's some. Like beyond the void (there's ann in this forum if you want to look). For ingame item, i only know steam so far and i don't think there's game where you can earn bitcoin except faucet.
