942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Definition of the term "millibitcent" on: March 26, 2013, 11:20:14 PM
1        - Bitcoin
0.1      - Bitcent  = .99 - .999 are all Bitcents
0.01     - Bitcent
0.001    - Bitcent
0.0001   - Microbit = .00009 - .000099 are all Microbit
0.00001  - Microbit
0.000001 - Millibit =
0.0000001 - Satoshi
0.00000001 -Satoshi

I will need to sit down with paper and get it all perfect, but you should catch my drift.   I think this should be a nice simple way to tell people amounts.

What do you think about these naming conventions?

Bitcoin
Bitcent
Microbit
Millibit
Satoshi

Avalon Batch #3 may still be in stock,    HorseRider has a bunch of units for sales and if that doesn't work, contact me direclty and I might have an option for you.

947  Bitcoin / Hardware / My Beef with BFL (Constructive Criticism Only) on: March 26, 2013, 06:40:03 PM
We have been giving BFL a hard time.

I want to explain my beef.   My beef is:

1.  Lack of communication and customer service that is easily remedied.

2.  When already dealing with bad PR, they hire a fucking troll (sorry Josh but it is true)

3.  When coming out with a gamechanging product (ASIC) they hire a pool operator (sorry Josh but you should choose one)

4.  Makes an announcement well before BFL knew they would deliver ON PURPOSE to chill competion and even before they were consistently shipping FPGA.*

*Speculation: This tells us that they got a sweet deal on highend chips and they didnt have supply beyond a certain number.  You could of been honest and that would of let people know what to expect.  If I am wrong then why can I not order a FPGA right now and have it in a few days?

With that said, BFL maybe just set their ambitions too high when Avalon grabbed the low hanging fruit and the experience to shoot a lot higher.
At this point we should just tone down the same hateful arguements because what is going to happen, will happen and instead we should be seeing if we can find opportunites.

Comments and Constructive Grievances, please post below.

1 unit, order 77XX 3 modules, no PSU

please give the full order number ?

Why do you need the full order number.  I think what people should give "if" they even want to go public is the bare minimum that lets people know the relative place in line and amount "if" they want to disclose that.  We don't want personal data on the public forum.
949  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Batch #3 Not selling as fast.... on: March 26, 2013, 03:30:54 PM
Batch 1 took weeks to sell out— and the same thing happened: people put in orders and didn't pay... then more units were freed up as those orders were manually canceled.

Yep, it was just Batch #2 that was priced at a sweet spot and that is why it went like hotcakes.
950  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Batch #3 Not selling as fast.... on: March 26, 2013, 02:54:36 PM
Much higher risk now. Before, both Avalon and BFL had working FPGA products, so it is highly possible that they will deliver ASIC, just a matter of time, but now it is about the speed of hashing power increase

BFL claimed that they will deliver 1000 60GH unit /month when their test finished, that will ramp up the difficulty quickly, make batch 3's return more uncertain, in such a case minirig is a better choice

With a 1 year time-frame even with a very large increase in the difficulty, they will ROI.

951  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: naked short selling of bitcoins - how to on: March 26, 2013, 02:24:42 PM
I want the Wall St. bitchez to engage in a lot of naked shorts. They'll ruin themselves and learn to leave Bitcoin to people that are more reality-oriented.

They'd just declare bankruptcy and stiff the exchanges that permitted them the credit to run naked shorts.  We have nothing to gain by permitting holders of US $ to short bitcoins naked.  They can short fully covered, like the rest of us, and still lose their shirt just fine.  I should know, I lost nearly everything.

Yep, full reserve trading it the only way.    Mark these words.
952  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Avalon Batch 1 system $20,000 (In person only) on: March 26, 2013, 02:19:07 PM
as per PM, sold at $20k, local pickup

Pending

Did it sell?  I am in Seattle.

We are getting together on Wednesday.

I hope you worked this whole deal out.   I am willing to be a trusted 3rd party for a small fee to oversee the transaction.  I really hope you are both being safe, seriously.

using RIPPLE-COIN it might in theory be poss to naked short sell BTC

or if someone else comes up with a scheme, like Mt.Gox operatives.

would that be desirable for the sake of a more stable exchange rate ?

The last thing we want is naked short selling and derivatives.  We need less pure speculation and more price discovery.  Go back to Wall St.

955  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What's Your Avalon Batch 3 Order Number? on: March 25, 2013, 11:25:25 PM
Someone speculated that order numbers are generated each time someone adds to cart or goes to pay, but payment fails.
Since there were 900 actual orders between batches 1-2 (presumably up to order 4500), I speculate that an actual order is placed only every 5 orders, meaning the 600 from batch 3 won't fill up until about order number #7500.

HorseRider announced he took 50 from this batch.  That leaves 450.
956  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: THANK YOU AVALON - Batch #3 ordering on: March 25, 2013, 11:18:39 PM
I hate to break it to you, but the real world still works in USD so it's ridiculous when you say that it's cheaper than batch 1.

I hate to break it to you, I only used BTC.
957  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: March 25, 2013, 11:16:51 PM
Sold out to 95% very quickly.  Many people feel glad they could purchase some more units.

Coming in with some big guns.  Kudos.   Let me think it over and I will get back to you.

Got it right after checkout.

Are the prices right? At current rate we are talking over 5000$.

Can you read at all?   Go back under your bridge.   I hope your not an adult, then there is no excuse.
