Well since we cant actually see the figures, you cant tell for sure - but just by logic it would seem pretty silly for someone to actually search for selling bitcoins once they already own them (you already know where to exchange them...). So yes, it would increase in correspondence, but the actual number I'm guessing is roughly 1/50th to 1/100th of what the buy side sees.

The search, which usually just peters along breaking records by a few % each day, just broke the record by 30%. Watch the fuck out next week.

Where's that from ? Google ?

Yep http://www.google.com/trends/explore#cat=0&q=buy%20bitcoin,blockchain,buy%20bitcoins&geo=&date=today%203-m&gprop=&cmpt=q

The fact that none of you idiots can see the manipulation is hilarious.

I guess greed did blind you.

All of you sounded so happy and gave each other a hug then shouted " WALL WAS BOUGHT DOWN, not PULLED"

Guess what? i did buy out my own walls . How much did it cost me? a merely 0.6%. What did it gain for me? a damn bull trap. (not just once)

Enjoy.

What wall ?

Fuck this douchebag, ive had him on ignore forever.

The recent price action is very bearish. We might be testing $62 or $63 soon. I hope not.
A climb to $75 and then a pretty typical correction is 'very bearish?'

Some people seem to think that after the market has run a marathon it can't take a breather before starting off again.
Must be the same people who moonlight at Foxconn managing the assembly-line workers....

It is a bit strange from the current trend though. For the last few months, when it takes a breather, it goes sideways, not down.
946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Things are happening behind closed doors, very important for Bitcoin things. on: March 22, 2013, 08:48:12 PM
While there is a good possibility he does actually have insider knowledge, this 2 year, big things for bitcoin is a bit obvious, no? I would be VERY surprised if in two years we werent well on our way to ubiquity in some meat space niches and considered "mainstream" on the internet by then.

what the fuck planet are you from, seriously.
on the planet there ppl dont take risk  let me remind you the rate for german bund http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/rates-bonds/government-bonds/germany/ all that ppl put their money in that not because they want to gain something just that they want to preserve wealth

if bitcoin want to become a storage of wealth need to stay at same rate (maybe 5 cents up down) for years

How many people do you think are more interested in "preserving their wealth" rather than having a shot at becoming wealthy in the first place? Yeah, that would be about 1000x more at a minimum. The "best time" to convince normal people would be anytime they have a chance to get ahead, not maintain where they are.
my family is not interested in btc I did explain them btc buyed casascius coins and silver btc coins they did not want to buy in last years no interested on mining rigs even when difficulty was like 200k

yeah you need to explain it to them by showing them a graph where the line goes up and say "look, up= good, ok"?

Trying to convince them of the merit of mining rigs... you might as well try and get them to invest in unicorns.

I love how there haven't been any retaliatory dumps after passing $70 (or any large transactions at all), it's like everyone including the bears are in total shock and don't know what to do anymore.

The rules of the game (over the last few years) simply do not apply anymore. Its time to take a step back and remember why we all were so interested in bitcoin in the first place. We all know the potential, we should stop being so surprised that its doing exactly what we expected it to do.

We will see a crash to $120 soon, maybe in early May.

I don't know if this was a typo, but I'll glady take a crash up to $120 in two months.

Somehow I dont think we will be waiting two months for $120 to happen.
954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 21, 2013, 04:14:49 PM
Whats crazy is that there is already a bid wall at 70. Last time we broke a big number (60 i believe) the same thing happened... Really strange.

I think its a mixed strategy, market order + bid wall at the same time. This way you get the hidden sellers that are triggered by the price raise while with only a market order the order would be executed to the end before the bots can respond. It's cheapter to buy like this. The full order in one thing could have driven the price way higher, leading to higher slippage. my 2ct

+1 Good call.

Related question: Whats best to have a peek at the market on the run with Android in my case?

Try my app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.veken0m.cavirtex&hl=en

It usually works when MtGoxLive is down or being slow. If you check the Orderbook you'll see the orders with walls highlighted in green.

Example:

so you are saying that the api functions even when their site is down? 0.o

How do I avoid uncle sam to stick its hand in my cookie jar and takes the tax share?
What if I don't report it?

Face to face trades.

Of course, not paying your share into a system that you benefit from makes you a freeloader (or at the very least a leech).
I'll gladly pay the transaction fees/withdrawal fees of trading my bitcoins into USD and then transfering USD to my bank account.
I'm paying  my share to the system I benefitted from, BTC that is. I didn't benefit from USD.
So you don't use roads?  You don't take advantage of the electrical grid?  You aren't protected by the US army?  You won't receive social security?

/devilsadvocate

This. What your trying to do is one of the main reasons government is against Bitcoin. Pay your shit like the rest of us and be thankful your in a country like the United States.

I pay my taxes every year, bitcoin however is outside the government control. Worst case scenario I will withdraw in a tax haven account.

Yeah, one used to be able to do that... now not so much. Heard of FATCA?

I think the hardest part it trying to convince people, while they look at the BTC price chart, that prices may continue rising and that it's not just a bubble.  Especially when they look at summer 2011 as a reference.
the best time to convice ppl about btc was when it stay around 5 usd for so many months
