Ozziecoin - Australia's first widely distributed digital coin

Equitable distribution | Simplified online accounts | Send ozziecoins via email | Introducing the Blockchain to Australians

Website: ozziecoin.com

Launch date: ANZAC Day 12:00 EST 25 April 2014 - postponed to 8 PM EST 27 April 2014. Claims are now open: Claims

Introduction:
uᴉoɔʇᴉq and altcoins are becoming more complex due to technological improvements. We've taken the deliberate step of making ozziecoins more accessible to the general public by introducing key features such as: equitable widespread distribution, simple online ozziecoin accounts, a mobile web app and sending ozziecoins via email. We believe it's critical that more Australians use Blockchain technology and realise the technology's potential to decentralise almost anything.

We've built an ozziecoin distribution zone to distribute ozziecoins widely and in an equitable manner. Registration on the site will be available at launch.

For those interested in the technical side of the protocol, the usual tools and functions remain available. Ozziecoin has been developed with important important safeguards in place including ASIC resistance, a cool hashing algorithm, time warp limitation, fast block difficulty retargeting and automatic checkpointing.

Ozziecoins are for micro transactions and research.  We leave the investment side to the more well established currencies such as uᴉoɔʇᴉq and Australian dollars. Our primary objective is to get Blockchain technology out into the wider Australian community. We would prefer if people did not speculate on ozziecoins.

We had a lot of help from Hiro, the developer of Hirocoin. He is a genius with the protocol.  We also would like to mention the developers of darkcoin and auroracoin because we've learnt many lessons from their experiences (though we have not had direct contact with them).  And of course we need to thank Satoshi Nakamoto for inventing the Blockchain, a truly remarkable piece of technology.

Key features:
  • Very widespread distribution to Australian residents: 500 ozziecoins per person
  • Valid Australian mobile required per claim
  • Nominal registration fee per claim
  • Intended for micro-transactions and research
  • Objective: to introduce blockchain technology to the wider Australian public
  • Simplified ozziecoin online accounts via the ozziecoin panel
  • Send ozziecoins to email addresses!
  • Send ozziecoins to facebook friends!
  • Basic Android web app for mobile phones
  • iPhones, we'll provide a link soon.
  • Structured distribution to manage volatility

Specifications:
  • Coin symbol: OZC
  • X11 hashing algorithm (lower power consumption and cooler GPUs)
  • Block time: 2.5 minutes
  • 625 ozziecoins per block
  • 23 Billion ozziecoins over 88 years
  • 11.5 Billion ozziecoins pre-allocated for distribution to Australian residents
  • Notional maximum of 1,000 ozziecoins per Australian resident
  • Addresses of pre-allocated ozziecoins to be published
  • Total claims to be independently verified
  • Min transaction fee: 0.0001 OZC
  • Difficulty retarget: DGW2

I signed on to Yobit to buy this coin, I forgot how absurd an altcoin trollbox is  Roll Eyes

But got me looking over some random odd small alts to buy up nice and low and wait a few months.

A few things stuck out to me about OZC (which knowing it's been taken over is one of the more positive coins on there)

But

23 billion coins is waayyy to many...

And 11 billion premined to be given out in 1k lots to Aussies Huh  of which the uptake might be 50-100 people ?!?

What happened with rest of coins? will the parameters be changed if the Algo is? maybe a big coin burn to take it back to say 24 million? as in 1 for every Aussie?

Be interested to hear what your intention is for the coin, could be an uphill battle to break it above a single satoshi digit coin.   Shocked

hi thoth ...

ive only just logged in for a few minutes afters a WHOLE WEEK of moving due to one issue becoming a MAJOR problem ... ill go into more detail soon but for the time being - im just glad ive finally finished my move and need a well deserved rest ...

there are many things that i have looked at in a few areas for ozc - but i wont be doing anything until next week when i have some of the boxes have been opened an unpacked most of the office equipment so i can settle in and get my new desk built and organize the office once again ...

i STILL have not heard from theymos from bitcointalk regarding my old account - and it seems its showing that it has been active somewhere - so i may have it open on a phone or device that i may be able to access ...

if theymos does contact me back - ill try to connect with mprep regarding my old account ... ill focus more when im back in a less rushed way ... which should be in the following few days ...

will update then ...

Hi crysx,
Ahhh you'll get your account back... sorry to hear that stuff happened... been there too.
Good luck with Granite.  Smiley

tanx tbear ...

only i could do something as stupid as that ...

anyway - ill start work on granite again at the end of next week ... as well as ozc - when i get the ozziecoin servers restarted and running in our infrastructure ...

looks more like a full rebase with change of algo - and a few features to boot when all that happens ...

it will require a hardfork - but will be well worth it for the future developmetn of granite ( and will probably rebase ozziecoin also - as that is based on x11 PoW also ) ...

i hope i get the account back sooner than later though - the restrictions on this newbie account is too much ...

Yeah your buggered if you lose your password here, this would be my 5th account by now I reakon

that needs to change ...

or at least have a system setup so that the mods CAN give a reasonable response in a reasonable time frame ...

bct is one of the most widely used forums - and should have that sort of backup ... especially for long term members like myself ...

if they dont - someone ( hint ) may setup a forum that WILL have that sort of quick response and take a LOT of the communities away from them ... though bct is big enough to withstand most opposition anyway ...

i just hope they get back to me soon with an unlocked account and accessibility to my acccount so that i can change everything back to my passwords and ease of accessibility ...

at least it wasnt a hacker that was the issue here - just my stupidity ...

btw - im moving in two days time ... this means that by that by the end of next week i should be back online and have already started the ball rolling for the new ozziecoin website ( basic for now ) and server systems to restart the backend for the network and ozc ...

im also rearranging the way we are operating - and placing everything under one umbrella ... my mate will be helping me with that - as he has a company that registers all the domians AND hosts all the business side of the projects ...

this will all start end of next week ... when im more settled in the new place ...

944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: March 25, 2016, 10:57:02 PM
I just did a comparison between my buyable private miner (0.1BTC) and the latest 1.7.5 release.
I have written 0-10% faster, but I should have written 17-74% faster

Sp-Mod #5 default intensities hashrates in MHASH/s. (980ti 1290 coreclock/1650 memclock)

nist5: 43.80 (+17%)
quark: 27.85 (+61,91%)
lyra2v2 16.10 (+16.6%)
x11:   12.85 (+18%)
x13:   10.27 (+19.97)
x15:    8.83 (+18.52 )
neoscrypt: 0.99 (+73.68%)

Current profit with my modded kernal on nicehash.com:(one single gtx 980ti, 24 hours mining)

neoscrypt:    0,00971250BTC ($4,0792500)
quark:   0,00907910BTC ($3,8132220)
x15:       0,00819512BTC ($3,4419504)
x13:       0,00796027BTC ($3,3433134)
x11:       0,00718058BTC ($3,0158436)
lyra2v2:   0,00663964BTC ($2,7886488)
nist5:     0,00161184BTC ($0,6769728)

does this mean you will cut out most of the other algos that are already contained in ccminer-tpruvot175 and only provide the above kernels? ...

or still have the other algos - but have the above modded - but still be able to mine the other algos ( non-modded ) ? ...

hi all ...

chrysophylax here ...

im messaging from this 'newbie' account 'crysx' because i have tried to log in to bct from the new premises - and failed miserably - so please excuse the off-topic post ...

due to my computer being a linux machine AND being fully encrypted AND having a password wallet that is fully encrypted - i only ever really need to know a few passwrds ( 16 in all ) ... one of the passwords ( and details as i later found out - due to the questions that bct ask for verification ) i did not alott to memory were those conatined in the personal encrypted wallet ... one of those was bitcointalk password and details ...

yesterday - i tried to log in unsucessfully with the wrong password ... the password is 3 years old - which as long as ive had the chrysophylax profile ... it also has made more than 3000posts and is a hero member - about to go to legendary in the coming weeks / months ... now before any of you carry on about changing passwords regularly and all that - i agree and am totally devoted to changing 'simplistic' passwords ... not ones that require brute force with decryption algorithms and a farm of hash to crack the passwords ... so to move on with the story ...

more than all that - the chrysophylax profile is also is the authority profile for the granite thread AND the dbm thread ( the two projects i currenty have ) and was about to take control of the other coin we have just adopted - ozziecoin ...

when the unsuccessful attempt to log in was tried three times - i attempted to change passwords via email ...

the email was sent from bct to my email address - and i followed the instructions to the 'change password' link - only to have them as a private question - which i have forgotten the answer to also ...

i didnt think that was much of an issue - except that as soon as the submit button was clicked - i receieved the following message ...

Code:
An Error Has Occurred!

now this shows three things ...

1 - the security measures that bct have in place are brief and not very descriptive ...
2 - the security measures that bct have in place are active ...
3 - the security measures that bct have in place work ...

now i proceeded to send an email to the above email address to theymos - and will see what happens in the following couple of days ... being an easter weekend - i would assume this may take a little more time so ill leave it till mid to end of next week ...

if i havent received a response by then - ill message mprep and see what suggestion he / she will advise of what can be done ...

a three year hero profile like mine should NEVER be allowed to go to waste ( as i know many of you have had profiles lost that are much older than that again ) - and there should be various countermeasures to allow the official owner of the account to prove themselves ( like knowing or remebering the last private messages before the lockout - which in my case was the 23rd march 2016 ) ...

but again - we will see what happens with the responses i get ...

i will keep you all informed of what happnes with this through this profile ive now started ( which is the short version of my name anyway ) ...

as for the update so far ...

the move is being finalized on the 28th march 2016 ( a couple of days away ) which means i will be on and offline here for the next few days - only to be completely offline for a few days while i set up house in the new premises ... this means that i will be only messaging when necessary - and any of those of you that needed my attention before this happened via pm ( there were about 7 pms in all - i only got to answer one ) will need to send a pm to this current profile - until i can resolve this issue with theymos ( and mprep if possible ) - to get back into my official profile ...

thefarm will be down and will not be back in to production until another residence for it can be found - and am currently in the process of looking for a small warehouse for its growth and redesign and development ... that will happen end of next week when i have personally settled into my ( partner and i ) new residence ...

i will be posting this message in all three forums that are granite based - AND - the mining forums i usually frequent ( like spmod and tpruvot thread ) ...

much appreciated for all your support thus far - and hope to be back online soon with my proper profile ...

Hi newbie, welcome to BCT. Grin

Wow that's rough. Since you have control of the email contact for your account that should be good enough
to convince them you are the owner, eventually.

When I choose a security question I always choose something I already know intuitively and don't have to memorize.
The question contains clues that are only revealing to me.

I hope everything works out.

tanx joblo ...

the last thing that is needed here - with all the mess of moving and resettling - is an account fumble like this ...

esepcially to start all over again - with all the main contacts in the private messages ...

i dont want to use a basic password - yet i am in this situation due to the [assword being 1 - old and 2 - not basic and easy ...

fingers crossed they will get back to me sooner than later ...

Oh,

I KNOW that hurts...I still can't remember how to access my very first account. Stings, just a bit. Make the most of it, although, it really would be a waste to see a 'Hero' account go down. I'm on my second 'Senior' account. Would rather have the single 'Hero'. My fingers are crossed for you. With any luck, you can get your account back.

     Cool

tanx capnbdl ...

and you have been a long term supporter - as have others ...

this will also mean that all the pms that you and all the others have sent will be inlimbo until i can get full access again ...

which in turn also means i will probably have to restart these threads ...

and being a newbie with this account - its 360seconds between messages - and 90 seconds between searches ... thats a LONG time between messages ...

so they make it very difficult to work on here as a newbie account ...

ive messaged theymos - and will message mprep next week ... i can prove many times over the this is my account - its just based on one damned question - which i forgot the answer to ...

in any case - patience ... as packing is taking the majority of my time at the moment anyhow ...

and tanx for your continued support mate ...

hi all ...

chrysophylax here ...

im messaging from this 'newbie' account 'crysx' because i have tried to log in to bct from the new premises - and failed miserably ...

due to my computer being a linux machine AND being fully encrypted AND having a password wallet that is fully encrypted - i only ever really need to know a few passwrds ( 16 in all ) ... one of the passwords ( and details as i later found out - due to the questions that bct ask for verification ) i did not alott to memory were those conatined in the personal encrypted wallet ... one of those was bitcointalk password and details ...

yesterday - i tried to log in unsucessfully with the wrong password ... the password is 3 years old - which as long as ive had the chrysophylax profile ... it also has made more than 3000posts and is a hero member - about to go to legendary in the coming weeks / months ... now before any of you carryo on about changing passwords regularly and all that - i agree and am totally devoted to changing 'simplistic' passwords ... not ones that require brute force with decryption algorithms and a farm of hash to crack the passwords ... so to move on with the story ...

more than all that - the chrysophylax profile is also is the authority profile for the granite thread AND the dbm thread ( the two projects i currenty have ) and was about to take control of the other coin we have just adopted - ozziecoin ...

when the unsuccessful attempt to log in was tried three times - i attempted to change passwords via email ...

the email was sent from bct to my email address - and i followed the instructions to the 'change password' link - only to have them as a private question - which i have forgotten the answer to also ...

i didnt think that was much of an issue - except that as soon as the submit button was clicked - i receieved the following message ...

Code:
An Error Has Occurred!

For security, your account has been locked. Email acctcomp15@theymos.e4ward.com

now this shows three things ...
