---snip---
Any Ideas for the reverse?
your publishing artwork in lossy jpg? pls, use png or no lossy jpg... lossy jpg looks fugly, otherwise i like it Wink
Thanks for the feedback! I still need ideas for the other side. Objective being an animated gif.
Here's a PNG for you.

looks fab

i think if it was moreup rather than laid down would look better
the Q design with 2 dashes was something I have said many times but designers seemed to ignre
its good as looks like a currency symbol which i mentioned too

i think if Q was maybe a colour from the colours in the quark and the coin gold?
just ideas
anyone else?

i like this as felt current symbol is fantastic but looks too much like a token, not a coin
is useful for wallets and small widget icons, but yes, nice to have a 'real coin' to look at based on orifinal too

thanks for efforts! keep them coming

Hmmm...

Anyway to see with white or black background?
@Guido Comments?

Any Ideas for the reverse?

I think theyre fab!
when real quarks come along they get my vote lol
really cool

but I'm just an enthusiast, not the developer

944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 21, 2013, 07:35:42 AM
Has the quarkcoin.org site been hacked.  The linux download is wrong and the bad thing is I ran it.  The logo for quarkcoin.net came up.

No, the wallet had an update yesterday and an earlier one with new logos. I have just updated wallet page.This thread is very long and difficult for people to catch all the info.
So,
1/ always be sure to check the FIRST POST in this thread, where the developer always updates the latest wallets and downloads FIRST.
2/ quarkcoin.org  wallet page has been updated now. also check the ; forum.quarkcoin.org and have a read as usually the latest wallet will be mentioned in discussion, or join up and ask question in new thread
3/ the logo you see is the old quarkcoin logo and one the scammer at the .,net copied, used, luckily they havent replaced
4/ we are working on cleaner wallet download graphics for homepage along with logo makeover for site, so when the wallets have a little overhaul in near future (hopefully) have asked developer about this, I will provide direct downloads direct on site, thinking about secure server for this, however more costs and not made of money.
But again always go to first post here. hope this helps

How high do you think Quark will go?

There isn't a cap on total number of coins with quark coin?

read this thread
explains coins per month etc
http://forum.quarkcoin.org/Thread-Quarkcoin-is-1-month-old-today

difficulty going up, blocks of coins halving, how many coins per week etc
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM ALERT] CPUcoin, some facts on: August 21, 2013, 12:44:27 AM
So many big red letters....

Ok first of all, starting a giveaway thread, and not giving any coins away isn't a scam. You don't lose anything by Rumbit's dishonestly/decision not to give away coins, its just in bad taste and not a good way to gain support.

Second, about the claims of the fake Quark site, whether it is Rumbit's or not, they haven't posted it anywhere on the forums, so that is not breaking the rules. If you want to own malware, fine. As long as you aren't trying to spread it, its not really a concern.

I would highly advise people check the source and check for malware in case there is any, but to my knowledge, no one has found any Malware in the CPUCoin client.

Overall, as of now, there are no grounds for a ban or a scammer tag. (not that mods are able to issue either)

Who want to talk to Jimmy Digriz?

Yes, i forked QRK, but just for test. Joke went far away. (Max, sorry)

I have only 2M CPC, my serv is not i7+, it's a simple VPS for webhosting, lol, i released CPC at 18 of August 2013, so i had no access to public it on "Alternate ctyptocurrencies", also i had no compiled Windows version and i send a link to chats, then i went to sleep.

Than i talked to my self "WTF?", but yesterday i watched 7k+ blocks, difficulty 5+ and 10-20+ connections.
I'm not old crazy scamer, I'm web developer, idea "using some automatic coefficient of activity" for users is very old.

It is not my topic
: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=278069.0
Windows version also compiled by rumbitla.

Original topic in newbie forum was deleted by moderator.

So:
{
    "blocks" : 9537,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 31.26757256,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : false,
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "hashespersec" : 0,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false
}
Let's see, it's too late to stop.

P.S.: QuarkCoin.net was founded when QuarkCoin.org was not exist. It is not a secret.
More info: http://quarkcoin.net/about_quarkcoin.net

so we also have multiple accounts by this scammer
rumbitla and cpucoin

can we all ask why the mods on this forum are currently doing NOTHING

949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 17, 2013, 01:50:49 PM
diff highest today for a while, faster mining with cpu miner or more miners getting involved?

Also can someone confirm to back up quarks all you need to do is make a copy of the wallet.dat like with the scrypt coins? Some people are saying that is not sufficient with this coin?

Can the cpuminer be used to solo mine?  I will try some on the pool and some solo to compare.

good questions that need an answer
giving a bump

Current Block: ~70880

Block explorer that is occasionally up lol:  http://qrkexplorer.zapto.org/

Nodes:

Code:
snipped

Thank you! Client finished syncing just after I posted..

Nice to know there is an explorer.. sometimes.. not right now apparently lol Any idea who operates it? I can offer to host it on a relatively reliable server of mine if whomever is interested.. I've tried setting up ABE before but never been able to get it working properly myself.

I am more than happy to host block explorer, the we can have everything on one site
however, that current explorer is never up due to their hosting

the user did post the zip, but is obviously down too
http://qrkexplorer.zapto.org/quarkcoin083.zip

I keep asking for a script. which this zip apparently had, does anyone able to find a cached version on google. then I can send to Max, Quark developer, for him to give ok on and that no bugs in it, then I can host

or does anyone here have tech skills to code a script for a quark explorer
I have a dedicated server it s no problem for me to host
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down again? on: August 12, 2013, 05:40:49 PM
was up
now playing up again
been a pain today
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 04:29:03 PM
I am quite busy right now and will not be able to make tweaks for a few days, if anyone wants to tinker with a simplified .PSD file of the artwork or just want some large PNG's you can find them here:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5hpUCaR21DSVW4zTlRSaHJ2WFk&usp=sharing

thanks dude
much appreciated
to ohiwastedmylif
please step forward designers if you can add improvements

personally i think a silver backing as opposed to white, or even gold to look more coin like?

please chip in, we need a number of people with similar views to move forward
we have the basis of the design thanks to ohiwastedmylif for coming up with a great concept
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy down again? on: August 12, 2013, 04:25:50 PM
and again, yup
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 02:33:45 PM
maybe the Q could have 2 lines through rather than 1 to look like a currency symbol? like bitcoin
maybe even the outer ring of coin could be the Q?

just ideas, need some designers to step up to plate to tweak now as I'm not a designer, not by a long chalk lol
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 01:17:05 PM
a Q in the middle to fill hole?
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 12:59:23 PM
top one is a bit nicer, however i think stick to the other one since be good to have one theme for the coin as it's emblem.

both are very good though.

thanks for feedback. tend to agree. although feel it needs some tweaking to look less propellerish with hole in centre
and more coin looking, ie gold or silver backing rather than poker chip looking

thoughts?

unfortunately ohiwastedmylife (logo designer) is rarely here on forum to answer questions etc

feel free anyone else to tweak?
957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 12:25:21 PM
ok i added this one but is too dark

do people think if the triangle in middle was like the darker backing and the darker backing was the golden colour of centre would make more sense?

or should we use wallet icon?

again like i said, i feel this one looks too much like a propeller and adobe logo, as much as its cool

need to finalise so can get logo sorted and donate buttons etc
thanks

please give opinion and feedback, cheers
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 09:46:33 AM
currently miners are happy to solo mine it seems
as difficulty keeps doubling I think that will change
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 12, 2013, 06:52:58 AM
Is there a block explorer?

just trying to get sorted
someone did post a script/zip but site appears down
if anyone could do a script and mention what needs adding I can add to main site
keen to do this as one is very much needed

failing that if people want to offer to contribute to a bounty to encourage someone to write a script
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: August 11, 2013, 11:42:16 PM
there are new graphics coming

as far as the 'propeller' logo above I think is fine for wallet but as someone mentioned before is very similar to adobe tm image and looks like a propellor not a quark

i think this is the best imo

the animated image will go from main site and be replaced with an infographic, thats coming
animated was their for fun
and forum will be updated with graphics

if anyone wants to pull their own finger out or donate rather than blow hot air, thats always preferable lol

also , dont forget not just quarkcoin.org

there is a forum.quarkcoin.org

please join and add opinions, inputs, help etc there and join community
imo forum looks pretty slick and new logo will be added tomorrow
