a user reported that withdrawals work if you have 2 factor enabled.

can we get a confirmation?
9468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 20, 2014, 03:52:40 PM
It seems that BTC withdrawls on Bitstamp are right now no more possible.
Will the price on Stamp follow Gox? It would be only logical!
We´ll see.

shit hes not trolling ....

So what now, is this the bottom? Since it's been hanging on this all day already.

Bottom is 0$ my dear.

even if they do sort out the problem, there will be daily limits as to how much BTC you can withdraw....
i tend to agree... mtgox is a bottomless pit at this point... not much hope left.

mtgox......

Quote
Tokyo, Japan, February 20th, 2014

Dear MtGox Customers,

Thank you for your patience this week while we are working on re-initiating bitcoin
withdrawals. In addition to the technical issue, this week we have experienced some
security problems, and as a result we had to relocate MtGox to our previous office building
in Shibuya (details can be found here https://support.mtgox.com/home). The move,
combined with some other security and technical challenges, pushed back our progress."

As much as we didn’t want to only provide an “update on an update”, this is the current
status. We are committed to solving this issue and will provide more information as soon
as possible to keep everyone in the loop."

We are very sorry for the delays and deeply appreciate your kind understanding and
continuous support."

Best regards,

MtGox Team

From where I am sitting things can go either 2 ways here.

Mt Gox survives which means the market won't go any lower than it currently is.

Mt Gox dies and there will be one more big dip.

So the last question remaining is how low will the market go if gox dies?

I am starting to think that whether gox live or gox dies is going to be irrelevant a year from now when at the very least people are gonna wish they had bought in at $625.

its weird i see it the other way around....

Mt Gox survives market will dip on the arb. grab

Mt Gox dies, its finally over, bitcoiners around the world rejoys as price rockets to toward infinity

A glimpse into the not so distant future

Maybe, they also don't want to see a mass exodus.

Limiting withdrawals means the price will rise and people wont be able to get their coins all out and will be tempted to trade it, thus the goxxing begins again...

GOX me once shame on you

GOX me twice....
9480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 19, 2014, 09:47:01 PM
Suppose Gox resumes withdrawals but enforces a 10 btc per day limit. Bullish or bearish?

bullish for gox's price thats for sure.

Stamps will dip a bit, but this will signal the end of GOX FUD and the end of cheap coins, so we'll probably end up above 1800 in a few business day

But doesn't the limit suggest Gox doesn't have sufficient coins on hand?

yes, I read that and thought the same thing, everyone reads that and thinks " its official they don't have all the coins"

they want to do everything possible to prevent a run on the bank, which will probably intensify the run on the bank....
