9501  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Renting Hash Power, is it profitable? on: December 20, 2016, 07:16:40 AM
Avoid it completely don't go for such tactics to make btc. You should have first asked here and then go ahead to invest in it. Hope you have not invested more than what you have written here. If there were huge profits why would they give you, use logic rather greed. This schemes are carefully marketed to confuse people, but with Lil efforts you can force a way out, all you need is to apply logic, and next time make good use of this forum, first search what you need and then post if there no answer available. But just don't go for such schemes.
9502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York Is Losing Its Battle To Regulate Bitcoin on: December 19, 2016, 03:52:12 PM
This is completely against the philosophy of Bitcoin. They are supposed to be be decentralised and not have it caught up in regulations and 5000$ that's a huge fees. It's strange that bitcoin has been forced to caught in this mess. Let's hope they do reconsider and this is not taken as a precipy and implemented by all countries.
9503  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: December 19, 2016, 02:17:07 PM
Hi i have a query, while browsing to many signature campaign, what I have come to see is before people are accepted they wear the signature in anticipation that they will be accepted or maybe they don't realize they can only wear it post selection. Is this allowed cause if it would be it would make no difference between a campaigner and other, say if someone forgets to remove and spams then the campaign will get a bad name. Just asking so that a rule could be made that refrains people from wearing it before, but then upto you all to enforce it.
9504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax on: December 19, 2016, 02:05:33 PM
If you don't declare any of your hodlings in Bitcoin or profits, then they won't find out. But keep in mind that if they somehow do find out, you'll be paying back everything at once.

Coinbase has been the first (at least that we know of) to be forced by the IRS to share customer data. I am sure this is just the beginning of a wave coming from tax agencies all around the world locating black money holders trying to escape the system through crypto. Exchanges can go to court and say whatever they want, but eventually they will lose as the government has plenty of laws to hide themselves behind, and to use them in their advantage. Especially in times where the governments are chasing down black money streams leading to people financing terrorism.
It basically means that no matter what exchange we're using to buy or sell coins at, it might turn out that this information eventually will be known by the governments.

How about certain services that allow you to buy and sell coins where you only need a mobile phone number?

Even when governments make these services hand over all information about those that bought and sold coins, they only have a telephone number to start with.

In that aspect people can just buy a $5 prepaid sim card where they use this number basically to buy and sell coins.

No government will know who's behind this number since you can easily get rid of this card. But then again, if they play it dirty, they can even attempt to trace the signal of your phone...

Hahaha your idea of prepaid cards is really good, but I feel that would invite farther scrutiny, cause then the government would have a free excuse to check all the information. I don't think we should use such methods, continue doing what we do but let's keep it clean. We don't want to hand them anything that they can use to come back to us. And let's hope coinbase wins it

Ya the coinbase news is really sad, I wish for the entire community sake they win it, otherwise it would be a disaster for all. Even for honest and innocent members we all will be looked with suspicious and will have endless tax man query. Let's hope coinbase finds a way to keep up. What's are the chances of coinbase.com getting success?
9506  Economy / Speculation / Fed hike does it impact Bitcoin on: December 19, 2016, 12:04:06 PM
With the Fed hiking the rates, making usd more favorable. Will it help boost the prices. Or will it be reverse. What is the scenario the money that was pouring in btc will it stay or will it leave. This has been on my mind for a while, I am unable to find a suitable answer. If you all could she'd some light on this.
9507  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: December 19, 2016, 11:53:08 AM
Hi dear freebitco.in team, I am experiencing a strange problem. Every time I try to roll using either capcha, the screen keeps on rolling the numbers and many times it does not stop, only for me to close it. Then it shows that it's already clicked. I am using it from mobile, is this just a general error or it happens sometimes. Or it is just a bug that will be fixed soon?
9508  Economy / Services / Re: GET NEW BITCOINS FROM SEARCH ENGINES on: December 19, 2016, 04:06:42 AM
So many times this kind of services pop up. The Op will claim it is legit but it never is. They will send you a mail with all offers and proof you end up paying and then they will just walk off. Do not fall for this kind of trap. If there was any such method this community would have known it a long while back. So stay away from such deals, however tempting it is.
9509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the federal reserve will react to the bitcoin growth ? on: December 18, 2016, 12:32:59 PM
Not really sure the Fed really will do anything like this, why cause it will put it self in poor light and give the impression that is weaking and that will take the trust of the people away from them. Let's say worst case scenario they even try to, will they succeed nope, the community is not a single person it's decentralised and no one can shake it, not even the Fed. All they can do is try and make a centralized system which will fail over time. So you relax and buy Bitcoins.
9510  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on autopilot mode on: December 18, 2016, 08:15:37 AM
I wouldn't term it auto pilot but ya it's fired up like anything. I am very happy to see the prices shooting up. This is the best thing of 2016, that btc prices are up and up. Look at the existing currencies they are slowing down, and seem outdated, but Bitcoin just seems to go up and up. Let's hope 2017 goes more and more up 1000$ again?

9514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the year 2100 on: December 17, 2016, 09:34:51 AM
Bitcoin can become obsolete in 2100 (hope it won't happen) but it will be a part of history. For cryptocurrencies, it's really an innovation to have. The blockchain technology would have matured by then and the problems that occurred to the blockchain or Bitcoin itself must've been solved. I've read that there's little to no incentive when you run a node on your computer, people who make Bitcoin look bad also, etc.

i like to think that bitcoin will be enhanced instead of getting another copy paste altcoin that do the same thing, it's more easy to upgrade it and offer new features if new technology will rise in the future

That's never going to happen man and you dont need to worry about it either. The bitcoin network is by far the safest network around and will always be number 1

I agree that's never going to happen all the signs are pointing for a growth of Bitcoin and Bitcoin shall only grow. There's nothing that can hurt Bitcoins. It's safe without a doubt. I would say hoard it, who knows what value it may reach in near future 5-20k per Bitcoin. It's possible. Believe in Bitcoins and nothing else.

9516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will we stop the evil free market Chinese? on: December 17, 2016, 08:43:40 AM
Chinese people have a huge monopoly over the market and it's not entirely impossible to remove their lead, for that some country would have to offer really cheap electricity which I had hoped would be usa with Trump in and he would help in breaking Chinese hold over Bitcoin, but sadly most users have said he won't. It will take a huge effort to get rid of Chinese people, but sadly theres no unity among the community and no country that can be as cheap as Chinese
9517  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: December 16, 2016, 05:15:58 PM
Hey, I was trying to enter into a signature campaign, but my rank it's still newbie and almost no one accept this ("Hey, WhyFuture, how you was going?"). Thinking forward, what the managers expect when they accept or not a an apply?
Do you guys have some tips to enter in?
Thank you to those who respond.

So you mean cause you are newbie no one took you, and you applied in why future even that turned you down. See before you apply for any campaign, make sure you have constructive posts, proper English, no spam whatsoever. I would suggest read the rules regarding joining a signature campaign, then head on Bitcoin discussion, read few posts, see how it is topic related, then start posting and reapply. And apply again when your membership ranks up.
9518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Conservatism on: December 16, 2016, 05:10:49 PM
I have noticed that many Bitcoin users are quite liberal, and wonder the reason behind that. Conservatives believe in small government, limited tax, less regulations and free markets. Liberal policies would without a doubt hinder Bitcoin growth with intense government regulations and scrutiny.

Its actually difficult to think that only conservative people like Bitcoin and liberal don't. Bitcoin is a particular currency that is accepted by one and all. Every one loves Bitcoin and they leave thier politics behind it. That's my personal feel, however this question is one that deserves a lengthy debate
9519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government digital currency! on: December 16, 2016, 11:46:00 AM
It's happens.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/danish-central-bank-to-digitalize-national-currency

Quote
Denmark, a country where its population relies on cash less than most other European nations, is considering digitalizing its national currency. The central bank of Denmark is planning to issue its own Blockchain-based digital currency called e-krone as its reserve currency.

Denmark is the one of bitcoin countries friendly, which it's possible if they create own digital currency.

But there's the flaws for this implementation, it's can same as fiat, centralized, just in digital form.

Your thought?

Its good to see that countries are adopting to new methods but this is not even similar to Bitcoin not even close. Bitcoin is based on decentralisation and this is centralization, which is controlled and manipulated by the government. So they are making steps but in the wrong direction, simply say a old service packed into new package.
9520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix Executive Wants Bitcoin as Global Currency, Considers It Cost-Effective on: December 16, 2016, 07:33:35 AM
At the Citi Internet, Media & Telecommunications conference, Netflix chief financial officer David Wells expressed his optimism towards Bitcoin, and how it is shaping to become the global currency of most major industries.

According to Market Realist, a prominent investment research establishment which covered the event, Wells stated:

“It sure would be nice to have Bitcoin in terms of a global currency that you could use globally.”

Why Netflix is Interested in Bitcoin

As MR researcher Shirley Pelts explained in a 5-part series entitled “Tools in Netflix's Wheelhouse to Meet International Challenges,” Netflix is actively looking into Bitcoin payments due to increasing cases of fraud and criminal activity revolving around gift and prepaid card payments.

In contrast to many streaming and digital content distribution networks, Netflix has provided both its users and content creators with a wide range of payment options, outside the traditional field of banking and credit card payments.

For instance, users from underbanked countries such as Argentina and India or users under the age of 18 that illegible for bank and credit card applications can purchase a variety of gift cards from physical locations such as gasoline stations and convenience stores to pay for Netflix services.

In June 2015, Libran Research & Consulting and prepaid commerce solution provider CashStar, co-released a study entitled “Gift Cards Through the Eyes of Consumer,” to analyze the ecosystem and industry surrounding gift card distribution.

In its research, the two firms stated that gift card sales surpassed the $129 bln margin in 2015, emphasizing its rapid growth compared to other conventional payment tools including credit and debit card services.

However, like many other financial tools, a rapid increase in growth also relates to an increasing number of fraud cases, due to the emergence of hackers and criminals trying to bypass the system.

Security veteran and cryptography expert, Tony Martin-Vegue wrote in a study that bypassing gift card security and essentially double spending its balance is not a difficult operation and can be completed with fairly shallow knowledge of security.

“This type of fraud is fairly low-level and does not result in a huge loss to the merchant, but is quite a shock to the customer when the recipient of a gift card tries to redeem it and finds that the balance is zero,” cutives/risk-management/gift-card-fraud-how-its-committed-and-why-its-so-lucrative/]stated Martin-Vegue.

As a response, the Netflix financial team and CFO David Wells are looking into Bitcoin, which can be considered as a more practical and cost-efficient alternative to gift cards.

This is a welcome news even though it's old, I am sure this will take time, and they just can't start it over night. But when ever they choose to do, they shall make a killing for it. Netflix is the most popular content and that starts accepting Bitcoin, the value of Bitcoin will surge along with its popularity. Looking forward to this happening in 2017
