9541  Other / Off-topic / Re: After The Zombie Apocalypse Is Over on: July 15, 2014, 07:28:10 AM
Ha Grin Yeah, this isn't offtopic discussion when you're talking about bitcoin! I'm really wondering how everyone likes to watch zombie movies and somehow hopes for a real zombie apocalypse to emerge. I mean, it's gruesome, you most likely won't survive, your friends either. So, what's the point. No zombie apocalypse! They're worse than the winter!

But winter is coming!

Sry wo ist dein Problem ?!?! Dies ist NICHT meine Seite.

Erstmal denken bevor man was schreibt ....

Wink

I play minecraft a ton. No problem.  Wink

As others have allready pointed out your calculations are wrong. Sad but true [1]. However since you play Minecraft a ton there might be a way for you to make 1 BTC in 50 weeks. The Server Minecraft CC [2] pays you for mined/placed blocks upto 0.02 BTC per week. However keep in mind that mojang plans to change the EULA and thus this "deal" might no longer be valid in the future.

9545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now bitcoin network to come in Tv and radio broadcasting! on: July 14, 2014, 05:57:06 PM
This is very interesting, for me the interesting part for now is that with this method you are untraceable, if you take up a manual on how to build out our own transmitter antenna along with the receiver DVB-T people can create a mesh to cover by themselves the territories all over the world!!!
In this way:
1 - Area with no internet will be covered.
2 - No IP in the transaction.

You can only be "untraceable" if you dont want to send a TX. If you want to send you have to rely on another technology. See the picture above.
9546  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Console non-wallet address balance on: July 14, 2014, 05:49:58 PM
Is it possible to determinate the unspent balance of an arbitrary bitcoin address (not one from my wallet) from the Electrum console?

yes use getaddressbalance("address") - Note I only use electrum for litecoin but should work the same for bitcoin. Also the address used below is not mine but a random one from a litecoin blockchain explorer.

Code:
>> getaddressbalance("LiEMRo8aYs7iHQzRPpUF3GGG3xmgEGJLrr")
{
    "confirmed": "16103.49132166",
    "unconfirmed": "0"
}

The "Rep" loans are really just something that is allowing people to eventually scam other lenders. In theory rep loans are not to be withdrawn from the site so they should be safe, but you are contributing to an eventual potential scam.

Yep thats why I dont like it. Yet it seems to be "normal" on BTCJam. Its hard to find someone without a rep loan in the past. A well my coins are stuck there for a while anyway. But im not going to increase my investment there.

PRCDice seems to be a bad roll as well. Im down ~.6% in just two days. Well Ill judge that after the first two weeks.

I believe bitcoin is in a period of restructure. Once the new infrastructure is laid, we will see plenty more trusted investments in the next few years. Not only will we have gambling companies, but also marketplace sites, structured loan sites. It could evolve into something rather like a bitcoin stock exchange.

Wasnt there some site that acted like a BTC Stock market? Dont remember its name so it probably was a scam anyway. The problem will allways be the reputation. Its easy (in a way) to make a nice looking site with a concept that sounds legit, but can you trust the owner(s)?

UpDown bit even paid a for Gold Member status with the Bitcoin Foundation, yet they have (or had?) problems paying those that advertise for them with a signature.
9548  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Investing in Bitcoin on: July 14, 2014, 07:38:55 AM
Obvious scam IMO.
A hedge fund based in New York City and London, with no website, but with just a gmail and a FB page lol.

BTW, you may also check the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345045.0.

nice find. If you check that users profile [1] he/she just posted the same post in different languages all over the board.
I find it funy that BTCTron.com is protected by GoDaddy[2] so you dont know how is behind it and redirects to PDMining with ?ref=BitcoinBarrel. If you search for BitcoinBarrel you will find they have a HP [3] as well as a FB page [4]. Most active users are from Jakarta so the likes are most likely bought. I might keep digging later Tongue

Yes and he had a bounty hunt going on somewhere around the board.
People keep posting this shit for days, now stop it please and let that poor bastard learn his lesson in peace.

The article could have linked to the thread at least.

obvious scam is obvious.

you invest 3 bitcoin, yet they only want the rich people?

The company can pull off a profit over 34% yet the only web page is on facebook? They wanted to setup a "new website" Nov '13. Took them long enough. Maybe they cant handle the workload?
Tell your dutch friends: No!
9551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: @Just-Dice investors on: July 13, 2014, 10:55:44 AM
BTCjam can be risky if you concentrate your investment only on one borrower. There is a lot of defaults happening there. Spreading your investments to a larger number of borrowers may help to reduce the risk.

Thats what I did. Spread it among several people with a high rating (thus a low interest rate, but im fine with that) and 1 with higher risk IIRC. Not sure about the exact numbers, but I think the person with the worst rating had a C. BTCJam is an overal strange place. I dont like "rep loans" but they are common there because you need a certain "rep" to get a reasonable interesstrate. Which makes the rep system borderline useless. The other thing I dont like too much is that I cant withdraw my coins any time. Which makes perfect sense if I borrowed them, but I still compare with JD Wink

The moment doog is back with something that sounds good, Ill throw my coins at him Smiley
9552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: @Just-Dice investors on: July 13, 2014, 10:31:18 AM
Just wondering; where is everyone investing their BTC now that Dooglus has paid out all owing investments? Has there been anyone enter the market that's even close to being as trustworthy as Dooglus within the BTC gambling industry?

No real places to invest Bitcoin in my opinion now that just-dice is gone more or less I leave a bit of change on mintpal and try to figure out that market although I would much prefer a good storage location like JD anyday.

While Id prefer JD to come back and thus have the majority of my coins safe, I gave BTCJam and and  PRCDice a chance. Just a little bit to test the water.
9553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin core did a transaction that i did not do! on: July 13, 2014, 08:01:35 AM
Yesterday as usual i checked my address balance with blockchain and found out half of it had gone to an address i haven't seen or know..but i restarted my core client and the balance was fully there..

then i sent all my coins to a new address and then transferred them back finally blockchain shows correct balance..

Can someone please tell me why blockchain.info showed a balance and a transaction which was not and did not happen?

They had problems with their database in the past. I dont know what happened, but I suspect they have problems again. Blockchain.info is just one blockchain browser, its not the blockchain. You can also try e.g.
http://blockr.io/ or
http://blockexplorer.com/

If you suspect that your data might be compromised it would be wise to make a new wallet with a clean machine and transfer the coins there. Just to be safe. Or use a properly generated paper wallet.

http://kryptoradio.koodilehto.fi/

This is the project, does this mean we will be paying tv bills through tv?

No dvbt is digital video broadcasting terrestrial. It one way. You would need another channel to create a payment. As they show in the "tech" part

You will only receive data via dvbt. However sending a TX will need very little bandwith in comparison.
9555  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Dogewallet on: July 12, 2014, 05:35:32 PM
Any info on the wallet's character set and lenght?
This would really help.
Do not understand.Where to watch this?

In your brain. The question is basically: did you use cyrillc letters or latin ones or a mix?

You also to read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85495.0
I doubt that you actually did try this. They are talking about very long passphrases and how to crack them there. AFAIK they helped several people to crack their wallets. However I doubt there is support for a dogecoin wallet yet. But since dogecoin is nothing new, I doubt the wallet structure is any different from bitcoin or litecoin wallet structure.

What I can assure you is: noone will buy that wallet, at least not for the price you are asking. Maybe for 10% probably not even that. There is no way for you to prove that this is not a scam. It is impossible for you to prove that you do not know the password. It is in general impossible for someone to prove that he/she does not know X. Even a polygraph can be cheated and its not like we are going to visit you for the deal.

What I can offer you is this: you hand over the wallet, I see what I can do and should I be able to crack it open we share 50/50. Youd have to provide the wallet.dat and a doge address where you want your share in I case I am successfull. I would give the wallet.dat to at max 2 more people that I probably will need help from. I know those IRL, they are a couple and they uhm... do things like this. Sounds dodgy and I have no way to prove to you that my intentions are honest.

If i were in your position Id search for people you know or can reach in person. Maybe check at your local nearest university.
9556  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: July 12, 2014, 05:08:10 PM
Sure keep going. But please complain in the meta section about it if you got your ban. Ive seen it in the past, I pass it along to newbies, nothing else. If you think you know better, who am I to stop you?
You're talking nonsense. I've once avoided the section almost completely and still got banned.
It's not a matter of which section you post in, but how you post in it.
I posted in beginners and help a lot and Stunna said if I post constructively, I would not get banned. I believe he don't ban people for which section they post but rather constructive posts.

I am a bit confused here.
Are you guys talking about "Stunna banning you from the PD sig campaign" or "mods banning your bitcointalk account" ?

Well those both have pretty much same rules so if you get banned for one of them you probably get banned for both.
Both of them are against spamming.

And nobody gets banned because they post in "wrong" section.
It is about what you post, not where you post.
I guess that myth about if you post to offtopic gets you banned is because if someone wants to spam it is easiest place to do so, so most of spammers spam to offtopic. But that doesn't mean posting to offtopic makes you spammer.

#1 this:

 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=631591.0

#2 posting the majority of your posts in off topic is spam. This forum is about bitcoin (and maybe altcoins) if 50% of your posts are about something else, then Id ask why do you post here? If you want to talk about X or Y you will find a board for that. They will not pay you, but thats not the reason you post, is it? I dont care how substantial your posts are if over 50% of them are in off topic you are spamming this board. I am no mod, I dont run this campaign, thats my opion. You can have yours and now I will stop discussing this here. Its off topic and thus borderline spam.
9557  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Dogewallet on: July 12, 2014, 09:37:03 AM
it my error ,i not extract private key before encripting wallet... Angry

Yeah, but lets say I want to spend >300 USD on that wallet. How do I know that there are 4.8 Million Doge in there?
How can you prove that you do not know the password? I think thats not possible.

I think you should hire someone to crack it for you and sell your doge afterwards. If remember large parts of the password there is a high possibility that a dictionary attack will work.

I doubt anyone will buy this, but can you prove that there's the coins on it? Can you provide the wallet address so people can check and confirm?

Posting an address is no prove that you have a wallet that contain can spend those coins.

Edit: confusing phrase

Haha, same, though chuck in a few spambots here and there.

Aint nobody settin up a spambot for tech support section, son!

No, seriously the sections I usuallys read have very little spam. I sometimes read the Newbie jail when I have nothing left, but most of the time I dont even bother anymore. Each question will get 5 identical answers anyway.
