As soon as I saw that VIA was not being burned for XCH- as was implied in the beginning- but rather being given to the dev as another IPO, "since viacoins are new and shiny", I sold most my VIA. If there is going to be this much funding, there needs to be more transparency as to where all the money is going. Anybody know what has been done with the first round of 610 BTC? Can we get a public ledger or something? How about a spending road-map? How much has been spent and on what for everything up until now and how much is anticipated to be needed for future developments?
Still holding enough to make me happy if this does turn into a true "long-term" project, but one thing I have learned in my short time here on BTCtalk is that betting on the "long-term" with anything but BTC itself is generally a poor decision.

Info is here. Again we will post details on how to use both methods before launch. Which method of delivering coins should I chose? I am afraid that someone will have copy of my wallet.dat and will steal my coins and I don't know what keypar is and how to use it. Do I need an app for that?
Upon launch of Syscoin you will receive an email where you can go and download your wallet.dat they wont just send this direct over email to you - You then replace that wallet.dat with the one that's within your data folder (Once you have downloaded the Syscoin Wallet itself. The second method (Keypair) you will have a public/private keypair combination to enter which will then give you access to your Syscoin. When I originally bought some I asked to receive the wallet.dat I then bought some more and did not know at the time that Moolah could pool the purchases together into a single wallet.dat and was uneasy about receiving two wallet.dats (for no real reason), so I opted to go with the keypair for my second purchase thinking I can import the keypair into my first wallet.dat. Will this work? |

Well the OP says the the coins won't be "burned" but instead used towards funding... meaning they will be sold off for BTC.. meaning it is not a "burning" process at all but yet another IPO... Anybody else made a little uneasy by this? I thought it would be a true burn. I thought the dev got his dev fund from the first IPO... I'm not uneasy about this at all, and trust me I hold a lot of VIA. I bought this coin because I think it's the next generation of cryto (and these days everyone seems to claim this). It has the potential to crush so many other coins (XCP, MSC, Stellar, etc.). But is it reasonable for us to expect Btcdrak to do this on only a 600BTC raise?? Fuck no. I want to see VIA give Ethereum a run for their money, and I truly believe it can. However, Ethereum has raised $15M so far. The beauty is Btcdrak and Viacoin are way ahead of the game, by months! and only off of 600BTC! I personally don't think it's even remotely possible to compete with well funded coins like Stellar or Ethereum with so little capital resources, which is why I'm fully behind the new raise for XCH. It's a pretty easy choice in my mind. Btcdrak has had flawless execution and this "burn" or IPO is no different. He's doing exactly what he has to and keeping his eye on the prize in the long game. I'm happily going to contribute becuase for VIA to really have the best chance of succeeding, Btcdrak will need to pull the best developers from everywhere over to this project. This will cost money. He's got the reputation, he's got the skills, he's shown execution, he's always two steps ahead, and he's got the momentum now. I hope this raise pulls in well in the $ Millions for him to work with, and he makes even more scary good hires ala Peter Todd. I can't wait to see the future of this coin. Viacoin and XCH are a scrypt coin and an adaption of counterparty, respectively. Two things which already exist. My point being, are there any entirely new developments here (thus far) which require the amount of thought and work which warrants the amount of money that a project like ethereum is raising? |

I assume XCH won't be the last Clearinghouse asset to be created. So, the process will be called burning. A guess, but there it is. You can use XCH to issue your own assets/coins etc and they can be traded directly on the blockchain, p2p. Why did you switch away from a burn to another IPO? Will there be any use for VIA after the exchange period is over? |

Status update
We have launched the mainnet, however noticed a slight issue with the PoS formula.
Checking the matter with Bitseed now.
ETA on release? This is the second day now where you've delayed launch. Some may think that I'm being unreasonable here, but I'm being realistic. You had 30 days since the start of the IPO to iron out bugs, but all we've seen over the last two days is delay after delay. You say you are checking the matter with Bitseed. Was in not Bitseed who was tasked with setting up the forum? Instead of spending such a huge amount of time on the forum, why couldn't you have spent this time rather on actually getting everything ready for release? Secondly you mentioned there won't be any cross platform installer and we are expected to build the sources ourselves. But then you go on to mention that you are in contact with Coinsource to review the code, how about instead of spending time pushing PR releases, first finish developing Crypti for launch? You guys seen to have your priorities mixed up, and everything currently is being done at the last minute. You had over 21 days after the IPO closed to prepare everything for launch, to ensure that it went smoothly, but we are sitting here close to two days after the launch was supposed to occur and it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime tonight. Your organisational skills need to improve going forward, because frankly as an investor this doesnt instill much confidence at all. How could you possibly be involved in this just like you were with Silkcoin? It's exactly the same with a different name, you got to be in on the scam. You denied it then and I guess you will deny it now. You are the most established scammer on BTT. Uhh, Wulf is not part of the dev team for Crypti. And he should learn some patience, this coin is implementing an entirely new source code and concept... It's not as though this is some copy and paste coin where launching should be expected to go smoothly because it has been done hundreds of times before, it should be expected that there will be kinks to work out on something completely new such as this. |
