some massive botnet on this at coinmining.pl ? Saw a 1.3m hashing power hash farm on there. Crazy....

Some farm owners have already jumped ship from scrypt to Darkcoin. The network hash grows everyday.  Smiley

A similar service for Darkcoin would be cool https://bips.me (DarkSend compatible)

Will the mastenode auto-generate random address and take it from there to move the node further from the hot wallet?

Kuroshi also means pain/sad.

Wouldn't go for that Tongue

 Undecided Ok ! Kuroshi

Bitcoin :
Satoshi Village-City

Darkcoin :
Kuroshi Dark-City
or
Honkyochi Stronghold
or
Duffield

Maybe a dumb question : Is it possible to create addresses for the master nodes (darkcoin p2p) and use them instead of IP ?
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: April 02, 2014, 07:44:58 PM
Maybe this can be adjusted as the value the 1,000 DRK represents changes?

That's a good idea.

If there's a tutorial for windows i'm up!

Maybe 500 DRK ? The more, the merrier.

Some people are comparing scrypt coins to Darkcoin in term of turnover when the profit (turnover - costs e.g. the electrical bill) is the key element.

please read again what he has written on the last 2 pages, then read this again:

the problem with anonycoin, he is dismissive even before he has really seen it, and even before knowing anything regarding the way it works,

its always good to have 3rd party to look things trough, but being desmissive before even knowing anything about this particular implementation thats more like trolling...

Because I am a world-class programmer who knows my shit. I can deduce all possibilities.

You don't know who I am do you or the software you use which I created? If you did, you would understand.

Here we go ... Just give him the source code already.  Roll Eyes

I don't need the source code. I could write an altcoin from scratch in weeks. Wouldn't need to look at any source code from Bitcoin nor any altcoin.

I expect nothing less from a self-proclaimed "world-class programmer who knows his shit".  Wink

At one point I'm sure one of them will say : "Hmmm I'm not convinced, show me the source code I'm sure I will detect some flaws".

Dude, sometime people share their though, you should listening. if you have better method, please provide. if not, please read carefully what they said, don't ack like you know it all.

Yeah right the pot, the kettle ... You don't share you troll (e.g. your posts in the last 24h)

At one point I'm sure one of them will say : "Hmmm I'm not convinced, show me the source code I'm sure I will detect some flaws".

That's the plan, down the track. Before open sourcing Evan wants more beta testing & a vetting of the code by a 3rd party. But eventually it will be thoroughly picked apart by the community.

Yeah I know, but somebody renowned in the field not some "Anon<Insert Coin Name>" guys who might have an agenda.

Third,
Do you know x11 is not ASIC resistant, the dev also said right >>>
Quote from: eduffield on March 27, 2014, 05:30:54 PM
The whole point of X11 is to try and get the same network growth cycle as Bitcoin. Once Darkcoin is worth enough, people will invest the capital to create the ASICs. I never really had an issue with that, in fact that was the point of creating a new hashing algorithm, I think it will be healthy in the end to move to ASICs.

Again you are correct!

If X11 becomes big enough someone will eventually spend the money, ALOT OF IT, to develop an ASIC. But you cannot take any existing ASIC or any ASIC currently in development that can do X11. Its ASIC resistant to the point where you cant just create one chip to for each of the 11 algorithms like the current ones available, so its going to be 11 times harder than what is currently available. So it IS resistant as it will most likely be harder to create an ASIC.

The developer ALSO completely rewritten KGW to create a new system DarkGravityWave that reduces/eliminates several exploits that KGW is susceptible to, and made it open source for any other coin to use.

He doesn't want to be bothered with facts, he only wants to repeat "x11 is not ASIC resistant". We already gave him a full course on his other thread.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vertcoin or Darkcoin, which one to mine? on: March 31, 2014, 04:29:19 AM
You CAN actually send anonymous darkcoin NOW, using the beta wallet. Still doing upgrades but it is functional NOW!

Let's me clear this first, you said "It is NOT just coinjoin + bitcoin" >>>> but your dev said "Anonymous blockchain using coinjoin technology: Still In Progress" so ??

You know there are wonderful things you can do with a brain : use a technology, develop it further, be inspired by it. That does not mean that the final product is the same.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vertcoin or Darkcoin, which one to mine? on: March 31, 2014, 04:17:17 AM
A "PREMINE" means that the developers mined coins before it was available to the public, because it was expected to be a pump and dump.

You can tell with how the coin is pretty much the only coin to hold value DRK/BTC. If someone had that many coins they would have already dumped and made LOTS of money.

You know your doing something correct when the TROLLS show up!!!

+1

And create new accounts just to try to undermine a coin.

IloveAnonCoin is very objective when it comes to Darkcoin.  Roll Eyes He must support an other coin hmmm

Don't you see my name ?

You don't say ?  Shocked

@CHAOSiTEC The balance doesn't display for me the new amount after each roll (I'm using Firefox).

stupid question but how do I back up the wallet data from the old wallet ?

NOT STUPID at all!!!  Very important to know how to back up your wallet, you could lose all your coin if you don't!!!  Two ways.

1. With your wallet open, go to the menu File => Backup Wallet.  Choose a location to save it and give it a name, I usually use the type of coin "Darkcoin_wallet.dat"

2. With the wallet closed, go to your wallet folder, in Windows, it's in C:/Users/AppData/Roaming/Darkcoin/  Find the wallet.dat file and copy it then save to another location.  In Ubuntu at least, it's in your home file, hidden (so choose show hidden) and is called .darkcoin.

To restore a wallet, you can just load and sync a wallet, then replace the wallet.dat file with the one you saved Smiley

so when I back up the old xcoin wallet  I need to find it in c: the copy it and add it to the new darkcoin wallet folder(anywhere in folder?)
im trying to get 222 coins sent from old wallett new wallet

So you have two distinct versions of "wallet.dat" ? One with the "old" address and one with the new ? And you have transferred 222 DRK from the old to the new one ?

yes exactly
1. Save the two somewhere with distinct names e.g. "wallet-old.dat" and "wallet-new.dat".
2. Put a copy of your new wallet ("wallet.dat") in the folder ./AppData/Roaming/Darkcoin/
3. Download the newest client on http://darkcoin.io/
4. Run it and let it update the blocks

I cant find this appdata file? im using windows 8
