961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion about Wimbledon 2015 on: July 03, 2015, 09:38:39 AM
Still shocked that Nadal crashed out yesterday, I wonder if there will be any surprises today. These are some of the interesting games today (I'll bold the players I think will win) -

This is it for nadal imo, career is over or very much downhill from here.  Imagine how hard it will be for him to go from world beater to struggling to beat people.  If he cant win on clay anymore then hes stuffed. He will probably retire early like andy roddick did just due to being past his best.
962  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to turn 2BTC into 4BTC on: July 03, 2015, 09:30:22 AM
To be honest, there is no safe and fast way turning 2 btc- 4 btc. Not on this forum at least. You have to put in the hard work like all of us either if you're in a good signature campaign like dadice, or if you're really good at trading and selling with btc. I'd say use those btc for stocks or a long term fund, that way you can make more profit. If you're looking for profit, don't look for it here. You can try gambling if you want, but it can cause you everything. Good luck on what you do.  Wink
gambling is a bad thing in my opinion, because you could lose all bitcoin you have, I would suggest trading altcoin reliable as doge or litecoin. be great if you make the effort in the real life

Trading is basically gambling if you dont have an edge and to have an edge you need to be good at trading. If OP is good at trading then OP probably wont make this thread in the first place Grin
963  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: July 03, 2015, 09:27:54 AM

Do you ever really "save" money.  Even if its in your local fiat or local bank you are invested in the strength of the currency or bank. If you are saving in bitcoin you are basically invested.

To answer the questions its better to keep track of where you are channeling your energys for the time period you are alive.  There is no 100% safety ever.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COPA AMERICA discussion on: July 03, 2015, 09:24:02 AM
Its very likely that referee will play a role however I don't think that will make any major difference. My prediction is 3-1 for Argentina  Smiley

Referee decision will have no effect for the game. Chile will win fair and square because they need this trophy for the first time and I think that Argentina will have a hard tme to make a goal. Sanchez will score a goal on the game , bet on him to score and you wont regret it , he is on fire for every match in copa americano

Refs will increase the Chile or any home team advantage by a few % points is a fact of life.  Chile can win fair and square without needing the extra % bonus help though sure Smiley
965  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why Do You Play Poker By Yourself? on: July 03, 2015, 09:19:58 AM
It is a shame, I like a bit of online poker, PM Poker recently started a giveaway and had some good ideas but I was the only one in there for a good few hours so I was literally playing by myself.

What we need is the whole poker economy to be bitcoin friendly, we need pokerstars to accept bitcoin as bitcoin and have games in bitcoin and cashouts in bitcoin.  If they cant do that then fuck them tbh because they will ust be proving themselves to be fiat shills.

967  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why Do You Play Poker By Yourself? on: July 03, 2015, 07:25:10 AM

Haha pretty insane didnt see that yet.  I notice its in limit betting games not NL although i think some short stacker bots can be made to work in low stakes NL.

Limit holdem and pot limit games are going to suffer as AI power grows.
968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction over. on: July 03, 2015, 07:14:50 AM
i'm hoping 240 is the new bottom.  greece only brings publicity to the usefulness of bitcoin.  they cant buy almost any at this point so its not them creating the extra demand right now.

Im thinking $250 probably will hold as a bottom for now.  $250 took a bit of work to get through on the way up dont see us going back through it very easy.  Few days of sideways coming up before the next move up.
969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Critical Levels - EW analysis on: July 03, 2015, 07:12:51 AM

Or do you think we've reached a floor at ~170-180?

Its a pipe dream to get to that price now imo, would take huge mega bad news else no chance.  Despite technicals everyone wants to buy sub $200 bitcoin.
970  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: July 03, 2015, 07:09:17 AM
well when becames alive pretty sure no one would spend 2000 dollars in bitcoin at any purchase  soo with bitcoins i guess we cant spend more then 100 dollars on internet ,trusting into other person,if we send it to an escrow first well those is other way to do the things run safe

Some people will be making a living and gain reputation via trading on Open Bazaar worth more then stealing $2000.  Not everyone will stay anon, perhaps people will link things like their ebay trading account name.

Basically, there will be ways to spend large amounts and still be sure you can trust the deal.
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you mine bitcoins with a toaster? YES you can! on: July 03, 2015, 07:06:33 AM

Dam just when i chucked out my toaster because one side didnt work.  Going to get a new toaster soon is a 2 or 4 slice one better for mining?
972  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why Do You Play Poker By Yourself? on: July 03, 2015, 06:58:38 AM
Okay, maybe not "by yourself" but what's the point of hanging at a poker site with 12 other players?  I've been to several online poker sites and I see just a handful of people... not even enough to field regular tables with more than 3 or 4 people.  It would be soooo much better if people would consolidate to fewer poker sites.  There just isn't the player base right now to play so many poker sites.

Some people like to play heads up and short handed, if there are a few decent fish who show up at these non popular sites occasionally then it can be worth it.  If the less popular or new sites have advertised and attracted players there is really nothing much to do.  Competition is good, in fiat poker pokerstars took a big giant shit over the games making them tight and non action, because they have such a big share of the market.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: July 03, 2015, 06:46:28 AM

What do you like best about bitcoin?
Decentralization, transparency or easier to move?
Or just it makes you look cool? Wink

Taking the control of money away from the gov so we can have donation based public services in the future.  This will attract people who actually want to work for the public for the right reasons and not just power/money.
974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi probably started a new coin. on: July 03, 2015, 06:42:46 AM
I wanted to post this before... but I forgot my password, and password reset wasn't working lol... maybe because of forum hack... but anyway.. now it's working again and I am glad I can post again...

Cause I did want to share my thought with you on this... perhaps this theory/hypothesis has already been discussed exactly like this or perhaps not but here goes:

So I think I know who Satoshi might be, all I have to do is think "What would I do if I were him ?" since I am a developer too, so I can think a little bit like him, the story probably goes as follows:

1. Satoshi lost his keys during development... while bitcoin was still worthless.

2. Satoshi got depressed, because bitcoin not worth anything to him anymore... he couldn't mine anymore because of the difficulty increase.

So the next logical thing for him to do is:

3. Start a new coin... and mine it early to get rich once again ! LOL.

PROBLEM SOLVED ! LOL.

And indeed... Satoshi did seem to leave bitcoin....

So the question is which new/alternate coin is he now in ?

Maybe litecoin... or maybe a coin in the future ! Wink =D

Bye,
  Skytoshi ! =D

Litecoin or namecoin are the first 2 other alts right, litecoin would make him Charles Lee wouldnt it?
975  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: July 02, 2015, 05:43:02 PM

It's all over the news; it seems no one is untouched by the charm of Bitcoin... Tongue
Seriously now, I first thought it was a "set up" story by the US Gov't. It seems to be backed up by serious data & evidence though. I wonder if SR has others in the bin apart from the known ones...

around 650K BTC?

If they could find the 650k due to some corrupt dude on the inside for some reason then that would be great.  Probably find a way to steal it though.
976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinfloor Launches Broker-Based UK Bitcoin Marketplace on: July 02, 2015, 04:57:22 PM
London-based bitcoin exchange Coinfloor has launched Coinfloor Market, a broker-based peer-to-peer marketplace, which will enable consumers to buy bitcoin from professional brokers.

Speaking to CoinDesk, Coinfloor CEO Mark Lamb said the new marketplace is designed to provide a more consumer-friendly and personal bitcoin buying experience.

If it brings in some more money from the non tech UK investors then its fine in my book.  We have a lot of people over here who have some money but no clue what is going on in the world.

979  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pokerstars transfer to player on: July 02, 2015, 04:45:41 PM
I would like to sell some money on Pokerstars for BTC.

My current problem is that I'm not sure if I will be required to take additional actions once I try to transfer money to another player. In other words, I'm not sure if I'll need to send additional info to Pokerstars e.g. drivers licence or any other ID.

Their FAQ is confusing and doesn't tell me much.

Is there anybody out there who have tried it? I'm located in Quebec, Canada.

Hey,

Interesting....  from my memory pokerstars need some details from you to deposit and become a real money player.  I signed up like 10 years ago now so its hard to remember what i gave them lol.

I guess you either built up some money via winning freeroll or have someone transfered to you.  You know, pokerstars treats money transfers on a case by case basis.  The transfers aren't automatic the staff review it and give it the OK, you can tell this by how the transfers take random amounts of time to go through. So it really depends on who is reviewing your transfer and how much money it is for.

If you are trying to send someone $10 i reckon it will be no problem, if you are trying to send like $5000 i think they may want to know a few more details.  You can always try it and get rejected, im guessing you dont want to attract the attention though if it fails?

Remember though pokerstars are more concerned about checking money on cashouts, player - player transfer will always be slightly loser security vs cashout.

Thank you for your reply, I used to play on another fenced market site before moving on Pokerstars. They locked my account after a while asking for ID, which I did send because it's ran by my government.
I've been playing with a decent amount of money on Pokerstars but when I signed up they didn't ask to verify my info, I've also never tried to cash out. Signed up within the last year I think.

I doubt I'll have a big volume of transfers, don't have much time to play anymore.

I have been warned by pokerstars before to not use them as a bank (this was when i started to make a ton of transfers on my GFs account which didnt have much playing action on it) - basically they told me your account is for playing poker and the money transfer service is for genuine transfer reasons..... helping out a friend one time etc.   They will bend the rules the better the customer you are.  On my own personal account i've probably sent and received money about 2-300 times and never once had a problem - on this account ive made supernova 5 times i think.

Yeah until you make a cashout pokerstars dont mind so much because they consider your money their money.  The security checks are made when you click to cashout, that is when accounts get banned/blocked/limited/whatever most.

980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should i move my ''saving'' to Bitcoin? on: July 02, 2015, 04:38:52 PM
Every month I buy Bitcoin from %50 of my wage. I think it's the best saving method for long term. I don't do trade much, it's too risky for me.

I reckon this is fine if you are young and have time to build back any loses.  What makes it even sweeter is the price is potentially low unless bitcoin is about to die.
