London-based bitcoin exchange Coinfloor has launched Coinfloor Market, a broker-based peer-to-peer marketplace, which will enable consumers to buy bitcoin from professional brokers.

Speaking to CoinDesk, Coinfloor CEO Mark Lamb said the new marketplace is designed to provide a more consumer-friendly and personal bitcoin buying experience.

Is this basically the same thing as LBC?  I didn't' know there were professional bitcoin brokers lol.  This will be interesting to see if they can expand out of the UK and to other places.

Good stuff! Every time one of these companies starts it makes me feel bullish about the future of BTC. I think a brokerage is a good idea because dumb people are going to be intimidated by the process of buying BTC on their own, some people are far more likely to invest if a trustworthy company can do it for them. These finance industry people aren't going to open BTC companies if they even have the tiniest idea that BTC will fail. It doesn't mean much but it gives me confidence that the price will explode within a number of years. Fingers crossed that mainstream adoption isn't too far away.

Well, of course it is also a gamble they are willing to take. But again ,we know nothing what these companies do with the bitcoin. If they are earning commission off the trades, they could be just selling at the market price on spot and have all the math done accordingly.

More good news....

Bitcoin's is gaining more and more credibility in the eyes of the non-users with this kind of news and or events. The more the name 'bitcoin' gets out there the better and even more so if its done by firms/people who carry some weight in the eyes of the non-users.

If it brings in some more money from the non tech UK investors then its fine in my book.  We have a lot of people over here who have some money but no clue what is going on in the world.

Does anyone know what became of SecondMarket's broker service? I tried to look it up a while back and couldn't find anything. That was a similar thing and sounded like a good place to go for larger buys.
