To trade Monero, first you need to wait for the wallet to synch  lol, turned to dust more likely, I am still waiting  Let us know how that's going...in the mean time im going to lurk under my buddies handle on in their forum on here and the moderated one and I want to see the depth of these guys coding capabilities. And what kind testing is going on and what their current development is. He's been I there for quite awhile... I want to see for my self how prolific their team is at coding Don't bother. Once you've waited a few years for the wallet, there is nothing you can do with it  Lol Update (well not really) Upto 234 days behind in Monero wallet so another 76 days of update took 4 hours and 23 mins. Tao ratio for 2nd leg of timing down from 6.7 to 8.7 seconds per hour - looks like the bloat is really kicking in now. Even if Tao remains constant(highly unlikely) projections indicate another 13.6 hours until completion. ConclusionBigR has enough time to fly across the rest of Canada before the updating has finished. |

It's just amazing to be part of this community. During all the FUD and trolling even with the other devs engaging in funding, showing their lack of class, our developers kept quietly working away. Constant testing, revisions... Also with a professional demeanour. What a class act. Since I joined this team back in January 2014...i have never seen any new coin survive...it has solidified what many of us and those new comers that this is a project back by a group of professional developers that are proud to put their real names behind what they are doing. We should feel proud of being part of one of the best communities in this space. That we don't resort to FUD or trolling others.... Because we are quitely confident in our future. Cheers everyone... Jesus guys, I have been trying to benchmark some Monero times so I could update the Tao ratio in my signature for over a week.
I have been using the MoneroGui.Net-v0.41.1-x64 client, I waited 20 minutes today for it to find 1 single node and still nothing!
This has got to be the most icky and tedious client I have ever used and tested.
I did squeeze some results from the start of Monero blockchain download yesterday and they were.
seconds in real time= 4205 seconds =(1 hour 10 minutes 5 seconds)
Hours behind to update in wallet = 624 hours = (26 days)
Monero Tao ratio = 4205 / 624 = 6.739 seconds / hour behind
Consider this is at the start of the Monero blockchain and should be quick, later on will get worse with added bloat.
So the update speed difference = ( Monero tao ratio ) / ( Dash tao ratio )= 6.739 / 0.5434= 12.40
Conclusions so far :- Monero is 12.4 times slower at the start of its blockchain update than Dash's blockchain update at it's end.
Reservations :- Dash takes 42 minutes to download and synch the entire blockchain, Monero takes over 1 hour to merely update the first 26 days, there are over 303 more days to go !!
Lol! Wow... Just wow. Go figure. Any Dash bets on the final speed difference at the end of the blockchain? hehe |

Thanks. Unfortunately the Air Canada flight i'm on has no wifi service. I can't wait till wifi gets implemented across most airlines one day. Especially with everything being cloud based these days and your doing trans Atlantic or Asia long haul flights...it makes for a lot of lost productivity.
There are 2 extremes of people who will sit next to you. 1) The one who tells you his/her life story in the first 5 minutes-usually starting with major illnesses, possibly drinks a lot and definitely won't shut up till you land (this type can be fun and does pass the time, helps if you drink a lot to get on their level) 2) surly git who wont even look at you never mind speak anything, even simple plane trivia is ruled out (usually in a business suit, probably pissed off because they would not let him to do a cheap upgrade to business class to escape the smelly peasants). In this case, make sure you've got a good pair of headphones and an aisle seat because they sure as hell don't like being moved. |

I downloaded the new dash client but then my old darkcoin client has my coins in it. They don't show in the new dash client. Can I simple send the coins to a generated dash client address?
Yes, some like to rename the folder and copy the wallet but thats how I do it, have 2 roaming folders, 1 for darkcoin and 1 for dash. Tip: If you create a config file called dash.conf and only place listen=0 inside it, you can now run both wallets concurrently hot, now you can watch the coins being transfered over, and as added bonus copy and paste for addresses will work as well. |

Nobody really picked up on it but the last version of Darkcoin was still well over 1 (Tao ratio = 1.35 seconds / hour). Dash absolutely smashed the Tao unity barrier of 1 and and set a record of currently, Tao = 0.54 seconds / hour ! Sweet, more facts to counter the FUD. And now you have a new release to try out. Its was initially conceived to counter the FUD, you can not argue with raw empirical data. And the fudsters are really not going to like the results of their coins ... |

Tao Ratio = ( seconds of real time spent updating ) / (hours behind of wallet to catch up ) Its a unitless (dimensionless) ratio as its a time divided by a time, (seconds / hours) I introduced it to help benchmark measurements for update times in wallets across various spec machines in order to find the fastest and best coins and configurations. Monero community shows its nature, it has no time for developing, but has a lot of time for DASH trolling, so I've sold all my XMR and bought DASH today, because DASH community engaged in development, testing and productive discussions.
