Sorry, but see PoS reward is 2% costant.. per year?
thank you
peace
In the new update i think there will be something mentioned about a new or "enhanced" reward system for stakers.

But the change from variable to constant (for all pos coins) was down to the fact someone found a way of cheating the system and were able to generate many more coins than they should have received, so all POS coins have (or should have) constant reward rate.

962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: December 10, 2015, 10:07:21 AM
Hi guys,

Soon you will receive a development update.
Lots of stuff going on and we are getting some good results in development at the moment.
We are looking forward to give the update.

Stay tuned!

Richard

Tuned in!

Just a note i want to add, this morning my wallet, it "got stuck" when loading.
There was no text EG: Loading database.  Just the IOC logo, so i let it sit like this for 30 mins and nothing.

Now, sometimes a wallet can freeze if you turn off your computer without closing the wallet first,
or closing the computer too soon after closing wallet.
As programs still can run for 10 seconds or so even after you close them.

Anyhow....  EASY FIX!

To get my wallet back "on-line"  I simply done the following and i can highly recommend it as a EASY solution,
should anyone have a similar problem.

1 - Make sure wallet is closed and not running (a quick check of task manager to see if the program has closed)
2- Find IOC folder %appdata%
3- CUT & PASTE wallet.dat from IOC folder
(placed wallet.dat on desktop)
4- closed IOC folder.
5- Waited 30 seconds then re-started wallet.

BINGO! Wallet started as normal, without any problems, but of course with a Zero balance, as it generated new wallet.dat file.

So i then let the blockchain catch up.  Closed wallet.
Again waited 30 seconds.  Opened IOC folder, deleted the wallet.dat file that was there (the new one with zero balance)
Then i cut and pasted in the original wallet.dat file

Closed IOC folder, waited 30 seconds, then re-started wallet and BINGO, a few seconds later wallet loaded and all coins were there (Big relief).

So, if anyone has a similar problem in the future, do not worry, this fix should resolve it.  (way better than other solutions that require loading new wallet and new blockchain that takes 12hrs+)

Its that time of the month again! 1st December.

Last month (1st November) ROADMAP Status

HTML wallet @ 96%

Looking forward to seeing the progress that has been made in the new update to the road map!

Keep up the good work  (i see people are buying quietly... good signs!)

and have to say.....

This is the most beautiful looking and exciting Road Map i have ever seen! (better than Ethereum !)

PS: Bittrex sell order below 1 million coins for the first time in ages, would like to see it below 500k coins avg.
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: November 28, 2015, 08:36:04 PM
Hi Guys,

Seen the request for more info about all the talks we have. Well, we can't. Also seen DM's from people asking about my tweets.
i'm not responding to DM's about these matters. Sometimes i gives some hints in my Tweets, so read them carefully.

The reason that we are not disclosing any more info is because these businesses are either listed on a stock market or are that large, that they don't want us to link I/O Digital to their name (yet). If we do, then we have the risk of blowing a magnificent deal. All bad for I/O Digital and that company then. On the other hand we sign NDA (Non Disclosure Agreements) sometimes to guard everybody's interest.

What can I say: we are talking with a company that is one of the largest consultancy / accountancy and (newly in blockchain) technical companies out there. They are investigating blockchain technology to add to their business service. Either adopt, invest or give us the necessary resources to get to the next level. They have around 100.000+ employees around the world. We have open talks about everything we do. Been there three times at sr. executive levels the last 8 weeks.

This company actually said -I quote- "what would you do with EUR 500k if we 'gave' that to you"... so yes, they are interested.
We do not sell our souls and will keep close to I/O Digital ethics and open source goals. Its not only about paying for developers or marketing, but we also will take care of the current (and future) IOC holders in every deal we are trying to make. Think of a 'buy in' program for large investors to support upward price movement when we get a financial injection for example. We will always try to make that part of a deal.

It is not said that this company will invest or give us this funding. NOTHING IS SURE. So do not see this as a buy signal, but as a signal that we have very good meetings and genuine interest. These things take time. Especially for those companies that can invest millions if they want. Again, this is extremely difficult to achieve. But i am sure that if this company decides not to cooperate with or invest in us, another one will come along.

I/O Digital is here to stay. With or without any multi $ funding.
Our main goal: Creating blockchain technology that is not only available for large financial institutions, but is easy to adopt, easy to use and available for everybody that wants to use blockchain technology for their service. Open source! as long as they pay the needed IOC for the stored KB in the blockchain. That payed fees are redistributed to the stakers on top of the normal 2% stake.

I hope to have clarified what we are up to. Thanks all for your never ending support.
And thanks for understanding that we can't tell everything.

Richard

Thank You Richard!  Shame you are not English, you would get Knighted for your efforts!
Perfect update and amazing to read.

From one Super Happy investor!

PS: What did you reply to that question "500k investment"?

Off the top of my head, IOC could hire 3 First Class Developers to get things moving along much quicker  (maybe costing 100k a year)
I guess thats where most of the investment would go, hiring people to make I/O Digital even greater and obviously some spent on advertising once DIONS and CHamelon is ready (just before the Fintech awards hopefully).

Hello Folks we got a little notice from Bittrex this morning that if trade volume doesn't pick up the coin will be de-listed on Dec 4th. I think we just love our coins to much and don't want to trade them, but in all reality we should get some type of exchange going on to keep trex happy and the coin listed. Let's get creative here and see how we can get our volume up on the exchanges. As ive said before we don't get involved in this type of exchange talks but it is our duty to inform.

This market is in danger of delisting due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on December 4th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.

Regardless of what happens we are still working on DIONS and as I've said many times here it has taken us longer than I originally anticipated. Even at that our community has to grow and we need to make grounds in showing people the speed of transfers and benefits of our blockchain. Again this must be done by the community. We are doing our best to stay on top of our coding.

Let's get some ideas flowing and try to keep our coin listed with bittrex, polo, bluetrade, shapeshift, cryptsy and the rest of the exchanges.  It would be a travesty to see our coin de-listed when we are in the middle of so much coding and preparation for DIONS.

Let's show some support for the project, the dev team is here and we are working hard..

Thanks

Joel

Since you ignore my Direct Messages i will post this here.

Getting de-listed from Bittrex would be a blessing in disguise (well not too much of a disguise if you think about it).

On Bittrex people can see other users wallet balance, a negative impact for I/O COin with that nearly 500k and 300k wallets there. Really hindering IOC's progress on the price scene as people think those wallets are there to dump on people, which they probably are.

The SELL side on Bittrex is terrible, clearly someone wanting to kill off IOC by making the coin look really bad and in turn making sure no one buys IOC due to the massive sell side.

Bittrex is widely regarded these days as a scammy exchange with scammy coins and overall the whole site has really low volume.

It would be a BLESSING if IOC got de-listed from Bittrex, think about it!

There is only ONE Exchange to worry about and that's Poloniex, the Main exchange these days for alts. Lets make sure IOC stays on Poloniex, forget Bittrex.

Lets hope all the developments are coming along well, Richard is doing great work, he seems to be having several meetings about IOC , in terms of getting used in the real world, so maybe we don't even need exchanges :O)

But it would be good if you guys post more about updates and meetings, i think that would help.

All the best.

hey guys,

This "exchange" is opening soon so you can buy a coin with a creditcard in the UK.
https://coinerz.com/

We applied for addition , but maybe its a good idea if you guys can send them a mail as well explaining how great we are and that they are missing out if they don't add us.

It is great that these kind of services are around helping to get crypto easier to the general public.

Thanks
Richard

WOW Buy Bitcoins and Alt coins in the UK with Credit Cards and Debit cards! This is GREAT!  I have sent a email.
(but i do hope Coinerz prices will be competitive)

Use this link > https://content.coinerz.com/contact-us/

And your real name and often used email address.

Subject: I/O Coin (IOC) addition to your exchange

(my) Message

Hi Coinerz,

What a fantastic exchange you are building, being able to buy Bitcoin and alt coins in the UK with credit cards and Debit cards is quite amazing!
I see you have added quite a few POS coins, but you are missing the most innovative and exciting alt coin of them all.

I/O Coin (trading name IOC) please add I/O Coin to your exchange.

Many thanks and Good luck

Simon.

(i forgot to add a link to this thread, so maybe someone could add that also).

Hello Community Smiley
Coindesk is asking people to vote for "the 10 most influential people in bitcoin and blockchain in 2015". Joel's name is not on the list but they are saying anyone with enough votes can get into the main list. So get voting for Joel Bosh please Smiley

Here is the link:
http://www.coindesk.com/vote-2015s-most-influential-bitcoin-blockchain/

On it Thanks London, Team is working today. I Was telling sam today in our team call that if what we are doing is easy every coin would of had DIONS. Not easy to break ground with what we are doing in a unique and from scratch wallet. We are at it my people, we would of had DIONS out if it wasn't for us trying to make things more user friendly for everyone, so we are committed to doing just that. You can reach on slack if you need me. Thanks To richard for the hard hard work as always..

I voted also, i had to scroll to bottom of the list > Select Other > Then enter > Joel Bosh I/O Digital

Yes, i will be there if we are through to the final nomination list.

Best of luck Richard Smiley do you know when will they release the shortlisted projects? IOcoin's hard work for the last year and a half deserves nothing but top spot hopefully. I will be patiently looking forward to the announcement. Well done guys Smiley

Fully agree, i have never been to Amsterdam either, would make a great time to go when I/O Digital makes it on the short list  Smiley Plus when I/O Digital gets on the short list, i think it would be really great for the "Creator" to be there also...

What do you say Joel? A trip to Amsterdam in April?

Also, do we have a link to I/O Digital nominated Category?  I would really like to "check out the competition" and study what the other "nominees"" bring to the table.

Also, by April, Chameleon will hopefully be ready right?

Hey Guys,

The website of www.fintech.nl has been updated. We are now officially nominated.
See nominee list on homepage.

Cheers
Richard

Perfect, thank you.

I am sure with the ongoing developments I/O Digital has a Good Chance of getting to the final stages and with a little luck  (with developments) who knows, I/O Digital will hopefully walk away with a nice award!

Also, will you be there Richard?  Are any other IOC team members planning to go to this event?

All the best.

HI I/O Coin,

Just thinking about the recent "events" with Bitcoin and how Europe is concerned about private transactions, which could well be a big stumbling block for Bitcoin.

So, with this in mind, is I/O Coin working on something that will make payments fully Traceable? (as an option or maybe as is, standard)

Maybe the identity sidechain can work with transactions, so the transactions can easily be traced to the person who made the payments. I/O Coin would then have nothing to worry about when it comes to transactions.

All the best.

Do we have a link yet to see I/O Coins nomination?

Hi Howardo,

First image looks great!   I was thinking more of Putting the I/OCOin logo, inside the "Circle/Image" of the round fintech logo and having IOC slightly blurred in the background.

But for your effort i will send you 100 I/O Coin and i hope other people can do te same.

Pleases send me your IOC address, thank you.

PS: Please retweet my link on twitter: https://twitter.com/vintagefashionz/status/666894645071343616

Not sure what you mean.

Yes! Just like that! I think IOC team should use it as twitter profile! Ncie work. Send me your IOC address and i will send you 100 IOC.

Hey all,

Our efforts are starting to pay out slowly. Just learned that I/O Digital is nominated for the European Fintech 100 category Blockchain.
The website will be updated, but the nomination is confirmed.

Lets win it!!

Great News! lets keep it going

Congratulations! I see it is in the Netherlands also so Richard will be there. Awards will be in April so I/OCoin should have lots to showcase by then, this is amazing news. Not to mention the fantastic extra attention for I/O Coin this event will bring.

Any chance we can get a nice Image with the I/OCoin logo in the background of the above image?  (that would look amazing)

Did i read here something about Nodes?

Was just looking into how they "work" and how to set them up  (as i will need to run nodes for my Open Bazaar stores).

I found this great link about Nodes and wanted to share it here: http://blog.modulus.io/absolute-beginners-guide-to-nodejs

We have now hired a new dev to work on the api. He starts on Monday and we have a 2 week time period for completion of this api, if successful it will go to Pat for final integration of DIONs code into the wallet and then we go on Final testnet of DIONS. Let's all stay positive and I will be following up with the community by next friday. Thanks everyone.

I hope one day when I/OCoin hits the BIG time, Joel writes a book and many people learn about the battles fought and won to get IOC to number one.
It would be an absolutely fascinating read and i am sure could well become a "Bible" for Alt Coin Developers.

Really looking forward to the new wallet and dions.

Thank you.

Thank you for the update Joel.

Clear to see there has been a ton of hard working going on in the background and as often, its never smooth sailing, but sounds like things are getting there and coming along better.  Really excited to see the new wallet and news about DIONS.

Keep up the fantastic work you and the IOC team are doing.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: November 12, 2015, 10:00:42 AM
I am sure you guys all follow richard on twitter and he is working his heart out everyday to make great thins happen for I/OCoin and its holders.
Wiz is quiet but he told me many times he never quits and will also make sure IOC is a big success.

They say in developing when you have 90% done the last 10% takes 90% of the developments, so i think not too far from now, DIONS and new wallet will be released and hopefully some great news about a company using the IOC blockchain, once the IOC team gets one company on board many will follow i am sure.

In the mean time, supporters keep staking and trying to spread hte word about IOC, DIONS etc....

Project Update  10-24-2015

Hello Everyone hope you're all well. Just wanted to give you all an update for this week. Our wallet team is now eagerly awaiting changes to the main DIONS api doc and code for integration to our wallet. Unfortunately it has taken longer than originally estimated. For that reason we had to bring in a developer to help the wallet core team accomplish these changes. Here is a more detailed explanation.

Derek our lead dev had finished the DIONS code back in july and had completed a full testnet of the code to his satisfaction. During that period the wallet team was working on the basic transition from our old HTML5 wallet to the New HTML5 wallet. Designs and implementation started to take shape. Derek then started to work on an api documentation for the wallet team to implement DIONS into the wallet. At that point the team looked it over and made a calculation that it was pretty straight forward and they would not have major issues during implementation. Once Derek finished the api doc, The wallet team was a bit behind with basic coding and it took them around 1 week or 2 to finally assess the final api doc for implementation. During review of the last api doc, our team had discussions with Derek on changes they thought would help them implement the code in a much more fluent way, there were also recommendations for a few small changes to the code for a more user friendly messaging system. For example, how the wallet would handle friend requests. At this point there was a difference in opinion on how this implementation would be done without having to make major changes to the original code. After a dev team meeting, we decided to bring in an additional C++ dev to speed up and aid us with the tasks of implementation of these changes, while not taking Derek away from his current daily tasks. Our Api dev came in last week, studied the code and is now working on implementation of the proposed changes. As a precaution on my part, I also personally interviewed an additional C++ & Java dev and he is currently looking over our entire project and awaiting in the wings to come in and review our final code. New devs coming in are signing NDA's to maintain our code information secure. We also have our code in a non public accounts until we are set to release to keep anyone from copying our code before release.

On regards to videos or images, we have released images of the wallet and will not be making any videos until DIONS is fully functional in the wallet and ready to release.

Although it has been disappointing to me that we are behind our DIONS scheduled release date, Im overall pleased with the fact that the entire team is looking to perfect our overall code and wallet performance. The journey so far has been full of ups and downs, but as Ive said before, i'm fully committed to the project. From day one I've self funded the project along with other team members and community who have chipped in and this was done to ensure that nobody would tarnish the Fair Launch of the project. People had to mine the coins and or buy them off miners just like I had to do. So in the end, we are all equal as holders. Furthermore I've bought coins when I could and I've been staking my personal coins since day 1. We haven't had the benefits of 18M dollars as Ethereum had and or a premine or ICO funding. Even though ethereum has been the one to grab all the air, and startup funding, they are having setbacks and challenges in coding as everyone else.  Their code is far very far from getting to where it needs to get and it may never get there, if funding is not secure from what Vitalik has said. With this said, we are not Ethereum and we never got Millions in funding. I've had to manage our entire project with much less and even though it has cost me, I consider us to be well managed and on budget for our project.

You need more than just coding brains or great tech to make a run for this. You also need management skills in order to steer devs, keep them motivated and in budget to get us to having a successful project. Since many are looking to make a quick bitcoin profit from trading, desperations starts to set in. Price fluctuation is inevitable from speculators and market manipulators, but overall IOC works, it can be traded for not only bitcoin, but also for services or products. Our I/O Digital blockchain is fully functional, fast and secure and is currently being upgraded. Current staking is at around 50% today which is very impressive. Looking at the value of IOC paired to bitcoin is understandable that we have lost ground in market cap. That also has to do with the selling pressure being put by a few holders, but as a community, we should focus on making IOC more accessible to people and companies in the near future.  DIONS will be extremely useful to facilitate transfers via user's aliases, identity and or document storing and private messaging. So once we release DIONS, it will be our focus to educate the masses on our blockchain, via marketing campaign and continue the further development of our  Chameleon Project. I hope that I can count on  the support of our holders, to at least be understanding of some of the challenges to coding, and to let us focus more on our hard work and dedication to make our new projects a reality.

Once the api implementation has been completed, which is not much, it will go to our wallet dev team for the final stage of the DIONS wallet integration, test and release.

As always i'm available through slack.

If you read this update please leave some feedback, or support words to our dev team, will be appreciated.

Thanks

Joel

Looking forward to the new update from Miami Wiz.

Great How to Guide (i remember writing a lot of it)  Smiley

All i would suggest is at the top, you put some simple steps, as it can get a little over whelming.

EG:

What you will need to do.

1- Buy Bitcoin (if you have Bitcoin go to step 2)
2 - Transfer Bitcoin to a exchange like Poloniex or Bittrex
3- Find I/O Coin Trading page. Trading name IOC
4- Place Order for IOC.
5- Transfer bought IOC to Desktop wallet

(then the full explanation below)

thanks. added it.

Excellent Richard thank you and i seen your tweet about "Approaching the Finish line"  I am sure many will agree, its the most exciting time for IOC , to date, once DIONS is released and businesses use the Blockchain.
