961  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitSyncom where is batch 1 order 200000152 ordered / paid on September 23, 2012? on: March 25, 2013, 05:34:59 PM

This could be a DHL issue.   You were in this thread and people mentioned EMS seemed to be the better option.  I wonder if it is in DHL's hands?

There is no DHL issue. I have a DHL office 5 km from where I live.

Just because they have a local office does not mean it is not a shipping issue.   What does DHL tell you exactly?  They have not gotten an inbound package?

i got one 3-module with psu. i expect it during June.
i could say it was the smoothest Avalon preorder ever, no issues at all Smiley

this is assuming you get it in june right?

What is your point?  I am confused.
964  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Looking for two people to group buy Avalon unit in Batch3 on: March 25, 2013, 05:19:20 PM
Units are still available let get one before it's sold out Grin

You should verify yourself with a senior or preferred hero member being that you are pretty new.   Due Diligence please.
965  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: THANK YOU AVALON - Batch #3 ordering on: March 25, 2013, 05:16:45 PM
What is to be done if you did not pick the Bitpay option?

The status of the order remains "on-hold," and there does not seem to be an option to pay.

Why do we this this question is appropriately placed the in "Thank you Avalon" thread?

966  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Long range forecast of the network hashrate on: March 25, 2013, 04:39:19 PM
were they right

Were who right? If you mean Dalkore, then no, he wasn't right. My estimates were much closer.

Yes, please take his estimates.  I was just giving commentary.  I follow his work and he is really working on refining his numbers.
967  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC earnings estimates - with added batch 3 goodness on: March 25, 2013, 04:35:53 PM
based on reading things around here batch #1 is not complete. As is not everyone who ordered one has it yet.

Out of three hundred, how many? I'm not going to add the 5 or 10 outstanding ASICs to the model - that inaccuracy is tiny compared to the other assumptions 've had to make.

I agree.   I can personally confirmed just about 100 through public and private disclosures.   And we have to assume that not everyone is going public and the hashrates doesn't lie.
968  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Don't forget: There will probably be further batches from Avalon on: March 25, 2013, 04:33:45 PM
At this point, I believe they will not being selling any more retail orders on this platform.  Who knows if they release a small chip later on.   I am just happy I could participate.
969  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Marriage of BFL and Avalon on: March 25, 2013, 03:59:51 PM
I agree and successful they are, but their production capacity is hardly worthy of praise. Couple that with nearly non-existent customer support, "no refunds, ever", missing power targets, the fact that their design is basically just an FPGA hardcopy and the recent massive price hike and it begins to put a damper on my enthusiasm.

Awesome for all the people who have one, sucks to be in line for everyone else.

I've been in a similar position myself. Released a product that was so successful I had people reselling them used for more than the retail price because I didn't have anywhere near the production capacity to meet demand. It lead to a lot of frustrated potential customers.

The difference is they were upfront about this, communicated problems and they are shipping.   Batch #1 minus problem orders is shipped by my estimates.   Batch #2 starts soon.
970  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who ordered batch #3 Avalon ? on: March 25, 2013, 02:59:43 PM
Did it work out to be a steal for you because of the initail unit you are running? Have you ordered from BFL also Jeff?

Obviously Smiley   He has already ROI on this unit too Smiley
971  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who ordered batch #3 Avalon ? on: March 25, 2013, 02:41:29 PM
Ordered one 4 module unit hold the ATX. Ordering process vastly improved over batch 2.1, great job team Avalon!

I felt the same way.
972  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: -= Galaxy 1 - 20nm ASIC Announcement =- on: March 25, 2013, 02:38:35 PM
@Entropy-uc
I didn't say that their PR or road map is under NDA, it's public info, I said that my agreement with them is under NDA and time haven't come till they permitted us to do the public announcement.

Ok, I can see that.
973  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 - URGENT! Ordering opens soon! on: March 25, 2013, 02:20:05 PM
Congratulations CoinHoarder for doing this for our community.  Now your order is placed, the hard work begins.

974  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC Units, preorder batch #3.. Sold out, not Sold out. WTH on: March 25, 2013, 02:19:11 PM
Hello,
I'm not sure why the Avalon preorder #3  keeps selling out. Then they're back in stock. It's similar to preorder #2.. It seems more inventory is added every so often. So so why is happening? Unless there are orders being canceled or other such issues.
Any feedback would be great!
Brian

It may be abandoned carts so once they let them go, they have stock.  I like how there system actually tries to only sell the amount allotted.
975  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: -= Galaxy 1 - 20nm ASIC Announcement =- on: March 25, 2013, 02:05:38 PM
@Vladimir
it's not 32Amp/120V its only circuit breaker that big, but specked power draw is 2250 + power-supply inefficiency

@Vicus
@Entropy-uc
Can't disclose name of a foundry yet, NDA. By the time we will be ready manufacturer will already be producing 20nm.

And now I call bullshit.

Every foundry's roadmap is published 5 years in advance, publicly so that the supply chain can be ready.  There is no NDA on that data.

So go ahead and show us all one foundry with a roadmap to start shipping production wafers this fall at 20nm.

Then explain how you will get any wafer starts when Apple, Qualcomm, Broadcomm, Altera, Xilinx, NVidia, and 50 other $Billion/year fabless companies are all fighting for the same wafer starts.

Get a new nickname, and a better story for your scam next time.

I was under this impression that their books are locked for months to years in advance.   Please give us something more to go on.
976  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Group ordering. on: March 25, 2013, 02:04:05 PM
Yep, interesting.  In stock for now.

978  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who ordered batch #3 Avalon ? on: March 25, 2013, 12:52:33 PM

I still see it in stock,  did you do a full refresh?
979  Bitcoin / Hardware / THANK YOU AVALON - Batch #3 ordering on: March 25, 2013, 12:50:53 PM
Yifu,

Well, you surely did take lessons from Batch #2 and applied them to Batch #3.   The process was smooth end to end, Bitpay was a breeze and everyone worked as they should for me.    Hope after you get these shipped, you have good luck on your future projects and if you do get Generation 2 Avalon developed, I'll be ready.   Thanks much.

980  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement from Avalon on: March 25, 2013, 05:08:33 AM
sounds like 75 BTC. One thing I didn't see you mention was
Decide on 8:30AM EST, 3/25/2013.

on the newsletter..

what does that mean?
Regards

No idea... A poll to decide whether they mine or sell the units at the more expensive price? Interesting. I find the specificity of 830am a bit odd considering that most people won't even read the email before then.

Poll isn't intended for their north american audience; mostly the chinese ones.

I don't think it is a poll, that may be when the sale goes live.
