961  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: deepbit losing payments? be careful!! on: June 17, 2011, 12:27:05 AM
I lost my last payout from deepbit...anyone else having this issue?  I can see it in my list of payouts but when I click the link it just says "No such transaction" and I'm kinda pissed.  Now that this forum has restricted private messages I can't even contact the damn owner about this issue.  be careful when using deepbit...seems like it's screwing people out of BTC now...
Every time when you request a payment on the site, you see a special help page that tells that sometimes transactions can take more time to be confirmed, why you can see "no such transactions" and what can be other reasons for not seeing the payment.

If you see your transaction on the payments page, it will be delivered. At this moment I don't know about any case when it was lost.
Also you can check http://bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin to see if your transaction is still in the queue.

1) If blockexplorer says "No such transaction" it means that this transaction was not yet included in some block. Usually this takes ~20 minutes, but sometimes can be delayed by a few hours.
2) If it's included, but you don't see it in your wallet, then may be your client doesn't contains the entire blockchain yet (check the blocks number in the status bar of your client).

For the last 1/2 an hour.  Is this normal or due to a problem on your end or maybe mine?  Any help or suggestions would be great. As I'm typing this it seems that the whole pool when down. :(
No, everything is looks fine at my end.
Do you have any packet loss between your PC and the pool ?

Also, PM me your IP please.

blah, the constant changing of IP's for deepbit.net is killing me. I have to go around and change the IP in the routing table on each computer I'm mining from every time it changes, :(
Are you using some special routing rules for mining ? Usually this shouldn't affect users.
965  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~3000 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 16, 2011, 02:21:31 PM
I have had this transaction disappear Can anyone help? I withdrew from deepbit, but it has NOT hit my wallet.
http://blockexplorer.com/tx/13f2f8ba672a1b248d1356f2385810e9a6d05574f3663d4c3b99e1d3676aeb8a
It did however take my balance down on deepbit's website. WTF is going on?
This link shows that the transaction is already received.
Do you see it in your wallet or not ?

What happened to the average shares numbers at the top of the stats page?
Average shares per block display is automatically hidden after each difficulty adjustment because otherwise it will show some meaningless jumps up and down for a few next hours.
Will be enabled again soon.
967  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~3000 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 15, 2011, 01:19:56 AM
Is it just me, or does the BTC payout count not show up correctly in the history column of the /account page? Well, more accurately, it shows up as "+ 0.00000000 BTC" no matter how many shares I've cranked out.  The BTC count shows up fine in Proportional mode though. Anybody else notice this?
PPS rewards don't depend on the blocks solving, so they aren't shown in history column and stats page. Your balance is just increased every hour.

Tycho, Tripple or quadcheck your logs.

14.06.2011 10:45   1NYGZ42rcqcGYDWpPTcG...   0.55

I dont remember doing those 3 payouts to my wallet at all, for now iv changed password ,wallet address and moved all my btc of my primary wallet to a offline one on a usb stick.
Those payments were requested by API calls. If you use Windows Sidebar Gadget it does this when you click on your balance.

First 300 of those 1300 transactions are included (confirmed). Others will follow soon.

So is the pool back up and running now?
The pool was running all the days. The problem is that it's not yet guaranted to be stable. Some short connection problems are still possible because our software is not yet completely fixed.

Can u check my request, the last 2 request haven't be done yet.
Thanks!
(Jun 13 and 14's lines)
If you see it in the payments table, you will get paid, the transaction is on the way.
The queue was up to ~1300 transactions long during the night, but all those payments were ALREADY sent.
It's just that free TXes take long time to be confirmed.
Everyone can check their transactions here:

If its an error , how many times before could it have happened since I dont check every single payout just noticed this and not to impressed with the outcome.
Values in stats table and your balance are calculated separately.
Reward column in stats table is just  your_prop_shares/total_shares*48.5
In this example: 1910 /  1264240 * 48.5 = 0.07327327089793077263810668860343
If lower value is shown then it can only mean that some of your shares weren't Prop.

So i took a 3 hr break form mining to see if things would settle down by then. Started my miners back up and still getting connection problems.. Sad Is deepbit getting DDoS'd again along with other pools and websites or is something else going on? What is even the point of DDoS anyways? Is it used to drive down the next difficulty increase? Or just someone or group who hats bitcoins? Does the government ever do shady things like that? Is there any way to trace the attack back to the originator?
Tycho you have any word on when things might be back to normal?
As I said already, today it wasn't a DDoS, we have some problems caused by our software.
Also I said that I'll make some official statement when things will be stable again. But as you can see, I didn't yet.

Currently some interruptions do happen occasionally, that's why I'm recommending poclbm/poclbm-gui over Phoenix. Sadly this kind of problem can't be fixed fast, but we are working on the solution.
I'll post updates when more information will be available and when pool will be stable.
976  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~3000 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 14, 2011, 02:05:02 AM
Im a bit confused, Tycho can you please explain to me how these 2 payouts differ so much ?
14.06 00:27:58   0h 27m    1806    1227061     0.00960466
14.06 00:00:00   0h 29m    1910    1264240     0.07327327
Both of them were on prop and quite similar timeframes, sharesizes and total shares however the payout is exponentially less on the more recent one?
Tycho, can you please respond to this query.
Are you sure that it wasn't PPS ?
PM me your login and i'll check it. Looks strange and the only explanation I can imagine is the PPS.

The problem with unconfirmed transactions is solved.
Usually many of free transactions in the network are confirmed by our pool, but this time they were not included because of accidental settings change during restart.
Don't any of the other large pools confirm them or is just because you put them in deepbit's queue for confirmation, so no other pool does it?  I've always been curious how a particular block get's its transactions to sign [say I send somebody 1 BTC, how is it determine where a confirmation takes place?].
All our payouts are without fee. Standart bitcoin server will include only up to 4 Kb of free TXes per block. Some pool(s) don't include free transactions at all. That's why they are confirmed so slowly when missed by our pool.

Transaction gets the first confirmation when someone includes it in the block.

Odd, that almost implies that deepbit is paying with recently mined blocks that are not themselves fully confirmed [120 confirmations].  Is the guy broke?   Shocked
No, you can't send money from unconfirmed block.

If your transaction is taking too long to confirm you can look for it in the queue:
