uhhh i was issued an auto payout at 11am PST and it's now 5:12, Thats six hours. Wtf? where are my coins
Most probably stuck in the same limbo as my 4.96 coins (been 4 hours+ now, and no sign of the payment progressing on the bitcoincharts), it seems that the transactions got a zero priority since the input coins are unconfirmed: input: 42.42758891 BTC 42.42758891 BTC from unconfirmed ec5ac4b7bd51997a03f23bb77c91b4a7d6267fdf08bab217926e347ac721ab21:0 (17hytzuhKtDNqgH78FZPk1nPZy541crspQ) output: 42.42758891 BTC 37.46758891 BTC to 1BufeGhiUS9Mjg7hugXewpJopPyybRYK4H 4.96000000 BTC to 16XrZP4z3Q6JtBMC8MgKg9p7x3UnU3YSVF Any word on this, Tycho? That's a nice... 100 USD stuck there for who knows how long, the priority hasn't gone up a tad bit in the last 4 hours.

Wait is your BTC showing up in the Bitcoin client? Are you just saying it's not getting confirmed?

Same here, over three hours. I wouldn't worry about no receiving it [I assume it shows in your client with 0 confirmations]. BlockExplorer also seems to be down so I wasn't able to verify that it has been pushed into a block. I suspect that deepbit hasn't put all the payouts into blocks yet and since there has been DDOS activity against the pools, and apparently blockexplorer and other sites, my guess is that the transaction hasn't been registered with anybody else since the payout and since deepbit itself hasn't put it in a block it solves (payouts are certainly low or lowest priority), confirmations are delayed. They will happen soon enough I suspect. It isn't ideal if you want to trade, but nothing to do with bitcoin is these days. At least the price is fairly stable if that is what you plan to do with your payout in the immediate future. I restarted my client once just to make sure I wasn't doing full P2P (uPnP registration lost) and it turned out I was. No new blocks downloaded and peers slowly creeping back up [was at 53 at restart and I verified via netstat -a]. Once the first confirmation occurs, I think they will start going up more or less normally.

I'll answer for him - yes, at least on mine, I see a 0/unconfirmed, date 13.6.2011 23:15 local time, Credit [+4.96]. It's also visible on the bitcoincharts, but it's not getting confirmed since the funds it's coming from are not confirmed, and thus the priority is 0.

Odd, that almost implies that deepbit is paying with recently mined blocks that are not themselves fully confirmed [120 confirmations]. Is the guy broke?

The problem with unconfirmed transactions is solved. Usually many of free transactions in the network are confirmed by our pool, but this time they were not included because of accidental settings change during restart.
|
Welcome to my bitcoin mining pool: https://deepbit.net - Both payment schemes (including PPS), instant payout, no invalid blocks ! ICBIT Trading platform : USD/BTC futures trading, Bitcoin difficulty futures ( NEW!). Third year in bitcoin business.

Don't any of the other large pools confirm them or is just because you put them in deepbit's queue for confirmation, so no other pool does it? I've always been curious how a particular block get's its transactions to sign [say I send somebody 1 BTC, how is it determine where a confirmation takes place?].

Im a bit confused, Tycho can you please explain to me how these 2 payouts differ so much ?
14.06 00:27:58 0h 27m 1806 1227061 0.00960466
14.06 00:00:00 0h 29m 1910 1264240 0.07327327
Both of them were on prop and quite similar timeframes, sharesizes and total shares however the payout is exponentially less on the more recent one?
Tycho, can you please respond to this query.

So i took a 3 hr break form mining to see if things would settle down by then. Started my miners back up and still getting connection problems.. Is deepbit getting DDoS'd again along with other pools and websites or is something else going on? What is even the point of DDoS anyways? Is it used to drive down the next difficulty increase? Or just someone or group who hats bitcoins? Does the government ever do shady things like that? Is there any way to trace the attack back to the originator? Tycho you have any word on when things might be back to normal?

No safe haven right now. I just shut down mining to save the GPUs from thermal fatigue. I have no idea how much cycling like that messes with MTBF relative to normal [i.e. My MSI 6970 claims it can run at 100% @ 70C for 12 years on average ... so, I guess at 100% and 70C, the MTBF is 12 years ... but that is constant temp and load ]. EDIT: I wonder how they determine this since the card hasn't been available for 12 years and many of the components [even the technology to make the small transistors and printed silicon circuit paths in the < 100 nano meter range hasn't been around that long ... engineers and extrapolations :p].

deepbit is up whole time and mining away but I would love to get explaination for that payout or i would prob also jump ship.
If its an error , how many times before could it have happened since I dont check every single payout just noticed this and not to impressed with the outcome.
