It was a big day for Women's sports and life-changing money for many women cricketers.

@JSRAW this auction looked really promising, and now I hope that due to WIPL all over the globe woman’s cricket starts to gets respect like their male counterparts usually get.

Isabelle Wong registered as an English player so no one can use any loophole.

While reading this article "Urooj Mumtaz: 'Extremely unfortunate to see Pakistan players missing out on WPL" I came to realize that Azhar Mahmood did the same thing for playing in the IPL in 2012, 2013 & 2015 like Isabelle Wong. If Pakistani women cricketers want to play in WPL next season then they should follow Azhar Mahmood's technique. He did have a British passport and registered himself as a British citizen.

@pakhittheboss I doubt that this would be allowed for any Pakistan cricketer as BCCI would have rejected this, due to the political tensions between these two countries.
962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 14, 2023, 07:45:19 AM
Such matches are very boring to enjoy. And I think the attendance in these matches is very low. Both matches were completely one-sided. Compared to West Indies, the Zimbabwe team was very weak both in batting and bowling. Zimbabwe suffered a humiliating defeat in the first match. Their performance deteriorated further in the second match. The general audience does not like such one-sided matches. It would have been more exciting and enjoyable if it had been an ODI series. The ICC should consider the overall situation of the parties. As a result of such one-sided matches, we are averse to cricket.

Zimbabwe hasn't done much to justify their test status during the last one or two decades. Their performance have been on constant downslide ever since Andy Flower and Henry Olonga rebelled during the 2003 World Cup, which triggered the flight of players to Australia and England. Now the question is how the ICC can keep the annual fund allocation to Zimbabwe ($12 million per year, or $96 million in total for the 2015-23 cycle) much higher than that of teams such as Scotland and Netherlands, who have performed consistently better with 1/20th of the funds that Zimbabweans receive.

@Sithara007 the ICC has not bothered in so many years about this issue, so what makes you think that they’ll suddenly care about reducing funds for Zimbabwe?. Furthermore the start of the third day seems to be delayed, and I don’t think that Zimbabwe can escape with a draw hence it’s clear that a big humiliating defeat is coming their way.

PSG will be actually losing against bayern without messi and mbappe.
I don't know but I feel even if they have a strongest squad with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, they will not be able to surely win against Bayern. PSG have very weak mentality in Champions League and in many seasons, they lost control of their mentality at important minutes.

Quote
Mbappe has been reported coming back to the training session but im not sure if mbappe will be playing full-time. According to ESPN mbappe may not fully play against Bayern. It seems like that mbappe is not fully recovering. Mbappe has been forcing himself to play against bayern caused by he knows how difficult bayern is as an opponent for PSG.
I don't believe in words of PSG about Mbappe injury and feel like they want to use Mbappe and fake news about his injury to be their best surprising weapon for Bayern. I guess they hope with surprising appearance of Mbappe, they will have better chance to beat Bayern.

Quote
Even galtier was also feeling worried about the match against bayern.
It will be biggest matches in career of Galtier so it is normal if he worries about it.

@X-ray I wouldn’t be surprised if PSG are playing mind game’s with Bayern, because team’s have done it in the past to do this to gain psychological advantage during their matches. Lastly of course he’s worried because he very well knows that failure to win and progress to the next round will mean that he’ll end up losing his job, hence he has to do everything in his power to make sure that PSG win and progresses to the next round.

RESULTS:

Leeds United 0-2 Manchester United
Manchester City 3-1 Aston Villa

Manchester United beat Leeds United in a difficult game but they took 4 points instead of 6 points over back to back games against them. It still keeps them in the title race.

This is turning out to be an exciting chase for the title. If Manchester City beat Arsenal when the two teams meet after 3 days then Manchester City will be sitting on top of the Premier League table.

If Arsenal win it will be a massive boost for them but if Manchester City win it will probably mean they will sit at the top of the table until the day they are crowned champions.

Here is the Premier League table as it currently stands:

@JollyGood Arsenal has a game in hand and if they win it then they’ll comfortably sit ahead on the top, and Manchester United are sadly yet not in the title race unless City and Arsenal drop lots of points. However I’m happy with how Manchester United performed last night, and what a player Rashford is turning out to be because I never really expected him to score so many goals for the club.

And besides, there is no staking word that has been used by freebitco. The service that they are offering is only savings and then the users can gain interest depending on the amount of fun tokens that they put on their accounts. I think if kraken just clarify that what they are offering isn't staking and then they use the correct term for it, maybe they won't get fined by the SEC, but this was still bad a bad news for the crypto community if ever the all the staking platforms or services will be fined and then closed.

This may not have a direct effect on freebitco but this will have a bad impact in the overall crypto which can then affect them because their users might consider saving their Bitcoins for a while than spending/betting it because its value is still dumping.

In a press release from the SEC, Chair Gary Gensler stated, "Whether it’s through staking-as-a-service, lending, or other means, crypto intermediaries, when offering investment contracts in exchange for investors’ tokens, need to provide the proper disclosures and safeguards required by our securities laws. Today’s action should make clear to the marketplace that staking-as-a-service providers must register and provide full, fair, and truthful disclosure and investor protection."
https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2023-25

So, the focus is not solely on staking, but encompasses all comparable services that provide investment contracts in return for investors' tokens. Sure, I get what you're saying. The SEC's move could definitely hurt the crypto market as a whole, causing a dip in demand and, potentially, a drop in value. But, on the bright side, regulations can also help make the market more stable and trustworthy, which could be beneficial in the long run.

@decodx I believe that Freebitco won’t be effected much, because they have always been transparent and if they need to comply then I’m sure that they’ll comply and pass all the requirements set by Sec. Furthermore all the members of Freebitco should not fret just yet, because as and when they’ll need to comply I’m sure that they’ll disclose what it’s implications will be for their members hence let’s wait to hear from them and let’s stop assuming the worst for now.

Has stake ever given bonuses related to Valentine’s day? Does anyone knows if this is the case? Because this does not sounds as an event which I would associate with gambling at all, especially now that the super bowl is so close, so I would expect bonuses to be geared towards that direction than over a day which is not even considered to be a holiday at all by most people.
I think we should wait for a notification from Stake.com. I think launching a promotion related to Valentine's Day can make gamblers interested and want to join to get the promotion. And there are still a few more days to wait for that notification. But if there is no notification regarding Valentine's Day, that's also okay because maybe Stake is preparing another even more interesting event for gamblers.

@Silberman I believe in all my time here on this forum I haven’t seen Stake launch any Valentine’s Day offer ever, and if anyone has seen any previous offers it would be nice if you could post it here. Furthermore why would Stake even target single’s or couple’s, because both would be out either participating in Valentine’s Day events or celebrating their love hence targeting them makes no sense to me.

What matches are you hanging out to watch?!   Shocked Shocked
Premier league have some interesting matches for this weekend and I am looking to jump and bet on few matches.
I think Fulham should win against Nottingham and Mitrovic likes to score against them in past, so I am thinking some nice betbuilder combination.
Arsenal should easily win against Brentford, and I don't think Newcastle can lose from Bournemouth.
On paper everything looks so easy  Grin

@notblox1 while on paper it does looks easy, but remember this the Premier league and upsets tend to happen when we least expect them so just don’t wager too much also. Lastly I don’t think that Arsenal will lose, but if they do then I won’t be surprised because in the past I have seen them drop points as the season heads towards the climax.

I missed the last 5 weeks of the Majestic 7 promo, this week I'll submit my pick soon before the kick off of West Ham vs Chelsea. This match makes me confused already on who to pick, maybe I'll follow yours (Bowen) as it seems that he is the one who scored goals regularly in their last several matches. Other matches also hard to predict, and maybe I'll just follow most of your picks if you dont mind.

If we have posted here it means we are ready to be copied  Smiley I have another option if you're interested
João Félix , Daniel Podence , Aleksandar Mitrović , Harry Kane , Bukayo Saka , Kaoru Mitoma and Callum Wilson
I also participate this week since 2023 of course after seeing @tokeweed's post

@Bitinity always keep a weekly reminder otherwise you’re bound to forget that you need to submit your picks, and now I hope you submit your picks in time. @Dewi Aries I like your suggestions better than @tokeweed  Grin, but I don’t want to jinx his selections too Wink so let’s hope that one of you’ll can win this round and lastly good luck to all the participants.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 on: February 11, 2023, 04:11:08 AM
I am picking two matches for this Saturday in EFL Championship, and and I was thinking about third match Sheffield Utd vs Swansea but I dropped it.
Today was bad day for my West Brom win prediction, but there is no time for crying.

Burnley vs Preston
Burnley is my number one bet for me this week in Championship, they are in great form and they look unstoppable.
Preston managed to get a draw from Burnley last year but now they have big problems before this match as their best striker Ched Evans received four match ban from FA.
With full team an no worries they can try to win here and secure Premier League promotion as soon as possible.
If you want some special bet go for Burnley to score in second half, they are best in the league for that.
My Bet: Burnley win

Cardiff vs Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough  is in very good form and they have best goal scorer in league Chuba Akpom who scored 16 goals in league.
They are third place in the table and they have chance to play in Premier League again next season, but they need more points if they want to go directly there.
Cardiff is on opposite side of the table and they need points for survival to escape relegation zone, but they didn't win a single match in last 11 they played.
My Bet: Middlesbrough win

All Championship matches are available on Sposrtbet website: https://sportsbet.io/sports/soccer/england/championship/matches

@notblox1 I’m surprised that West Brom lost the game, but glad to see that you’re quickly bouncing back and the two team’s picked by you definitely look strong and they should be able to win for sure based on their current performances. Lastly which site is showing you the highest odds for Burnley & Miiddlesbrough, because after seeing your assessment about them now even I’m tempted to wager small amounts on them provided the odds are good enough.
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 10, 2023, 02:33:57 PM
The West Ham vs Chelsea match is going to be a very competitive match even though everyone is favoring Chelsea. Because West Ham is currently in good form. I think this match is likely to be a draw.
Even though Chelsea still hasn't been able to show any improvement when facing their opponents with a new squad, to prove it all I will see how Potter still has the confidence to win? shouldn't he be better off resigning if he doesn't manage to improve Chelsea's performance?

Even in the game against West Ham for me the result will not be too surprising other than a draw maybe Chelsea lose again.

@hyudien I have now stopped bothering about Chelsea matches, because despite spending so much money they’re unable to show any improvement in their form and I won’t be surprised if Potter gets sacked due to their poor form. Furthermore West Ham are an unpredictable side and Moyes is hanging on his job, hence they may just win therefore wagering on this match is tricky and thus I would advise all not to wager on this match.

At the moment there is indeed some news about this MLS club making serious talk about Aubameyang and of course this is profitable.
He won't get many chances at Chelsea and we know that so forcing it will only torture him on the bench where in the end he will be in the same position as at Barcelona. with a move to LAFC in MLS it will bring him back to life at least he will still be popular there.
Aubameyang isn't Ronaldo where every fans are following him, not the team he joined. Ronaldo now join Al Nassr FC, many people don't mind to watch Saudi Arabia league in order to see Ronaldo is playing. If Aubameyang have joined Los Angeles FC, do you think many fans will choose to watch MLS? nope, probably only few people. It will be the end of Aubemeyang career if he can't score many goals on there, he need to try very hard in order to back to Premier League.
Aubameyang is nothing compared to ronaldo. Ronaldo is an influencer with the most followers on Instagram. How can aubameyang follow what ronaldo did? It seems like he doesn't aware if aubameyang is very far compared with ronaldo. Los angeles FC was also offering a low salary to him compared with ronaldo. It must need to be multiplied so many times. Aubameyang just wanna still continue his career as chelsea didn't need him anymore. He was also feeling disappointed with the result from the decision taken by potter to remove him from the UCL squad of chelsea.

Ronaldo is now more than just a star footballer. He’s like you said also an influential person with a great number of following on social media. Asides all that, he’s still an amazing player. While Aubameyang also plays beautiful football, he just can’t be compared with Ronaldo.
Which player wouldn’t feel disappointed to be omitted from the squad of the esteemed champions league cup. I know I would. I still think Aubameyang still has some kick left in him and could still play good football in the premier league.

@Iroh I don’t understand what went wrong for him, because he was a good player who used to score lots of goals but sadly he lost his way when he came to the premier league. Furthermore if he wants better salary then he should consider joining the Saudi club’s, but if he wants one last glory then he should head towards the states hence let’s see what he decides to do at the end of this season.
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 10, 2023, 04:11:54 AM
I saw on the news today that PSG could invite Guardiola to the post of head coach if he decides to leave City in connection with the scandal that broke out due to financial fraud of the club. If I'm not mistaken, PSG wanted Guardiola to be their coach back in the Pochettino days, but Guardiola has a contract until 2025 with City. In other words, this story with a scandal may affect Guardiola if sanctions are applied to the club and the team will be deprived of points. I have not yet seen any comments by Guardiola on this matter, perhaps we first need to see how this story ends.
If it is true that Guardiola will come to coach PSG then this is great news, but indeed the Manchester City financial scandal is currently still in progress and there is still no latest news about this case. But if I'm not mistaken in hearing the previous news saying that Guardiola will leave Man City if the Man City club is proven guilty, I think this is a breath of fresh air for PSG and of course they also really need a coach who has extraordinary experience in European competition and Guardiola is the solution to that.

@Altruist as per the reports I read it says that it’ll take at least 4 year’s for Premier League to sanction them, hence till then Pep has no reason to walk away from the club. Furthermore even by the end of the hearings the court may find them not guilty, hence PSG won’t get Pep immediately unless Pep decides to quit due to any personal reasons.
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 09, 2023, 01:51:55 PM
If everything goes aright for Juventus your calculation is true, but if this also becomes reality Juventus is totally screwed:

"Juventus may face 20-point deduction for undeclared wage payments"

Now for everyone who thinks this is old news, this is actually on top of the deduction they recently received and is currently under investigation. It is sad because it shows that Juventus hasn't learnt a lot from the scandal back at the time when they were relegated into Serie B in 2006 or so.
I've read the news some time ago, if this is really going to be implemented it will be like a nightmare for Juventus, improper management will result in losses for the players, and if the reduction is carried out now Juventus will immediately be in the bottom position because there will be 6 points left and with 17 matches and if they are able to win all the remaining matches they will have 57 points, they will still be safe from relegation but that is if and the question will be whether the players will continue to play calmly with all the chaos that is in the club in order to avoid a worse situation?

@Strongkored this is really sad news for all the Juventus fan’s, and I wonder what is Pogba thinking at this moment because he’s yet to play for them and even when he’s fully fit he could probably be playing in Serie B unless he decides to quit Juventus. Lastly what’s happening with them is a total disaster, and I can only hope that they can find a way to stay in Serie A for their fan’s sake.

Another struggling win for Dortmund. I no more enjoy their match. Bochum could not only make good finishing, they were so unserious in the first half. They played very well and the ball position in both halves could tell. Dortmund needs to make signings, the current squad is lacking in midfield, if not that Bochum lacks a good finishers it would have been a different story. It's annoying that Dortmund still make plans to sell out their current good players even with their poor performance.
It is impossible for Dortmund to bring in new players because it has become their trademark that Dortmund are potential players, so maybe they will bring in players with skills that are not yet good and will hone their skills and potential so that they manage to create players with more potential.
forget to signing the new player and it will be impossible until the transfer season comes again. Dortmund has been selling some important players but yeah the club has not yet found a good replacement for haaland who has been going to the manchester city. That's proven by how bad the finishing by dortmund. Glad to see that reus has become a key for dortmund to win against bochum. Dortmund is always looking for fresh young talented players who have not yet developed.
That's why dortmun is always need time to sign the new players from the low club. i rarely heard that dortmund was buying popular player from another club. Dortmund was just a factory for a young talented player.
I agree that Dortmund has had difficulty keeping players in recent years; it's not easy for any team to hold on to all of its great players. Nonetheless, it's encouraging to note that they have consistently produced a large number of quality young players throughout the years. I feel that Dortmund has always been a breeding place for youthful potential because of the strength of its youth system.

Regarding Reus, he has been a star player for Dortmund for quite some time, and it's fantastic to see that he remains an important member of the squad. It is awe-inspiring to see that he has stayed with Dortmund through thick and thin, as his dedication to the club is unwavering.

On the other hand, losing Haaland was undoubtedly a setback, but it is a reality of sport that players come and go. Manchester City is a premier team, therefore it is not unexpected that they were able to convince him to join them. I have confidence in Dortmund's capacity to rebuild the squad and think they will find a good successor in due time.

They haven't just had difficulties keeping players in recent years, but it has been kind of their philosophy or business strategy to actually find raw diamonds, turn them into stars and sell them for lots of money. Dortmund is the perfect calibre of a team for young players to take the next step before they move on to one of the huge clubs in the world. Of course Dortmund would prefer at times to keep players like Haaland or Bellingham or Lewandowski or Dembele for a little longer, but at the same time they have grown into that role very well when it comes to finding proper replacements.

@mv1986 I am of the opinion that Dortmund can only challenge for the title if they get a new owner, because the current management isn’t interested in challenging for the title rather they’re happy to stick to their existing model of buying unknown player’s and then selling them for a premium. Also is it just me or even others are surprised as to why don’t Dortmund fan’s protest against this policy, because unless the fan’s raise their voices I doubt that Dortmund will change their model.

After the Man City's scandal, it's a golden chance for Madrid to hijack Haaland Wink
Don't you think getting him would be very expensive after just 1 season of signing at Manchester City?
They had a golden chance to get a centre forward from Bundesliga (Haaland and Lewandowski) last summer, but they thought they could depend on Benzema.
Why not? Haaland has been rumoring intentionally to leave the club.

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1732036/Erling-Haaland-request-to-lawyers-Man-City-Real-Madrid-Premier-League-transfer-news

I think that will be so good for haaland to leave manchester city. His clause can be decreased once city agreed for his clause release to be moved forward. it's all depends on city.

I am not one who like English related players because of the media hype, but maybe they can try Harry Kane and see how it goes.
Haaland can't even expect himself to play in the championship division once city got degradation as a sanction for the club.

I personally believe that Haaland is an opportunistic player, and he’ll be switching clubs constantly and that was a key reason why Real Madrid didn’t target him but now they have an excellent chance to sweep in and take him to La Liga. Furthermore I feel that even Kane isn’t a bad signing provided they can strike a deal with Tottenham, because he can guarantee them goals and he has lots of experience too which will further improve the team.
976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 08, 2023, 01:02:09 PM
~~~
Maybe there are not many star players like Ronaldo, Benzema and Muller but there are great young players from Europe.
For example, William Saliba, Kylian Mbappé and Bukayo Saka are great players from Europe but actually their origin is different and it again proves that European forwarders aren't that great again.
But there are great truly European young players: Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Florian Wirtz, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Goncalo Ramos, Gavi.
I especially like Haaland. I don't think anyone has a chance against him.
~~~~~

Among all the players mentioned here, I would rate just two - Kylian Mbappé and Erling Håland as players capable of replacing someone like Ronaldo or Müller. Or in other words, I would say that only these two have the capability of winning matches on their own. And Håland plays for Norway, who almost never qualifies for the FIFA World Cup.

Players like Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden are talented. But I haven't seen them performing consistently. And Bukayo Saka is the same guy who sank England in Euro 2020, when he missed the penalty kick. Anyway, all I am saying is that these players don't have the capability of winning matches on their own. They can play a supplementary role, and that is it.

@Sithara007 I agree on your assessment about Mbappe and Haaland, but I disagree that Foden and Saka can’t win matches on their own because these two have developed really well and in coming year’s they’ll definitely win matches for their team. Furthermore Saka has moved on from that penalty miss, and see how well he’s playing this season which further convinces me that he’s has all the attributes of winning matches for his team.
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: February 08, 2023, 11:01:39 AM

I see that what is disappointed is that Cristiano fans are not entirely Al Nassr fans, they have very high expectations for their idol so that they hope that all the matches that are carried out by Al Nassr must be won by Cristiano. talisca got a red card against al fateh, it looks like al nassr is completely dependent on cristiano.

Well.. I don't agree with this argument. Al Nassr is not that dependent on Ronaldo. So far in this season, Talisca has scored a total of 13, which is the highest by any player in the Saudi Professional League. Ghislain Konan has a total of 4 assists to his name. So even before the inclusion of Ronaldo, Al Nassr was performing really well. And despite the draw conceded to Al Fateh, Al Nassr still tops the table with 34 points (although we have two other teams with same amount of points). And their next match is against Al Wehda, which is a rather weak team. Hopefully they can get full 3 points from that match.
I agree with your opinion. In fact, since Al Nassr spent a huge amount of money to recruit Ronaldo, he has not really proved that Al Nassr spent that money is completely worth it, he only shined in a friendly match against Paris Saint-Germain, and official matches are lackluster.
 I think Ronaldo is still a stranger to Al Nassr. Ronaldo tried very hard but he and his teammates still lacked coordination. Ronadol needs more time to practice with his teammates to combine better.
You must first understand that Saudi clubs will never match European clubs. The players in European clubs and the players in Saudi clubs are very different in terms of playing skills.  Ronaldo needs some time to adapt to them. Ronaldo will perform well on the field when he can adapt himself to Al Nassr players. The reason behind bringing Ronaldo to the Saudi club is not only that he will score a lot of goals, but also to introduce Saudi football to the football world, which is already known. We all know what kind of player Ronaldo is.  Hopefully he will be back to his normal self soon.

@Fuso.hp I totally agree with you that Ronaldo need’s time to adjust to this new league, and it’s high time that people stop criticising him and just allow him to enjoy playing and give him time to score those goals. Lastly I believe that next season he’ll score many goals when he gets a proper preseason done, and until then all we can do is support him.
978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: February 08, 2023, 07:47:35 AM
So both board should avoid politics in cricket and just focus on enjoying cricket.
They will never do that sadly since money is their primary focus which is why they will keep fighting each other as usual. Neutral venue for the Asia Cup makes sense, but it makes zero sense for the World Cup.

Why? Because the Indian government spent a lot of time and effort on preparing for the upcoming World Cup event which is way, way more important and popular when compared to the Asia Cup.

This is why the PCB should choose the best option which is participating in the World Cup for their own good.
Right now talking about India and Pakistan in cricket is completely nonsense because most chances India is not going to change their stance and Asia Cup is going to move from Pakistan and then most chances Pakistan is going to play World Cup in India without any option if they will not do this surely they are going to cut their feet's with Axe and this could be the darkest time for the Pakistan cricket because after this they will lose support from ICC and also lost funding from them as well which is never been ideal for them in current situation.

Here we need few good and positive decisions from Pakistan cricket management with cool mind but what will be their response nothing is surely with things could be clear in next three or four weeks while hate is the biggest issue between these two, and we can't do anything right now even education is not having the best solution for this all but at the end they have to stay like they are doing right now.

@doomloop I believe that the Asia Cup will be shifted out of Pakistan and ICC will cite their current economic crisis, and in the end PCB will agree for a compensation which would be a wise choice given their current crisis.

Also as far as the World Cup is concerned I’m pretty sure that Pakistan will give in and send their team to India, because they believe that they’ll have a chance of winning the tournament and it would be sweet revenge for them if they won the World Cup in India.

^^^ I gave the example of WICB and CSA, because these are the two boards who collaborate with the BCCI more often. But that doesn't mean that the boards such as BCB and SLCB hasn't made deals with the BCCI in the past. As long as the smaller boards remain divided, that much easier it will be for the pig-4 to push forward with their agenda. They are resorting to backdoor means to get control of the ICC. This was very evident during the election of associate representative, when one of the slots went to a BCCI proxy. Previously all three associate representatives were opposed to the pig-4, but last year during the elections the pig-4 managed to get Pankaj Khimji of Oman elected (defeating Mahinda Vallipuram). Khimji is a well known supporter of pig-4. See the irony. Associate representative will now support the policies of pig-4, which intends to reduce associate funding to zero. Lower ranking test nations, as well as associates are divided.

@Sithara007 the gulf between these boards and BCCI is too huge to fill, and that’s why they don’t oppose BCCI and end up making deals. Furthermore even if they’re aware that they could suffer in the long term they’ll yet support BCCI, because they know that to survive in this sport they need BCCI to be on their side and hence they’ll do everything directly or indirectly to always please BCCI.

IPL is now the most popular and expensive game in Indian cricket. IPL Changed the horizon of cricket in India. In the last 16 years, it has become the world's most expensive franchise T20 league. IPL now compares to some European football leagues in terms of commercial value. This franchise tournament has reached a level where many star cricketers are prioritizing it over their country's national team.
Why Indian Premier League (IPL) is more popular than all other premier leagues because Indian is the second most populous country in the world after China, with an estimated population of 135 crores. Every people of India loves cricket from their heart and they all accept cricket as the most important form of entertainment. Moreover, Indian Premier League is the most popular franchise T20 league in the world, the Indian Premier League tournament is organized with the best players selected from different cricket popular countries of the world. It will not be wrong to compare it with European football league as IPL is the best in the world in terms of popularity.

I strongly believe that IPL didn’t become popular overnight, and a lot of marketing was done to make people addicted to it and all those efforts finally paid off in the end. Furthermore one can understand how addicted people are to it, because despite last year’s IPL being the longest people yet continued to watch it and I sincerely doubt that any other cricket league can ever match up to it’s popularity.
