9701  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Someone help me out please on: July 26, 2019, 08:05:04 PM
Yeah I can see the transaction but the amount and balance of it are zero. I'm so annoyed at myself for being so stupid and not checking everything over first.

Seems like I've lost the money if I can't remember my password or seed. Is there no way to update electrum in tails where by my wallet will still be there?
I've never used Tails, so I don't know how it works, but on other OS, you don't lose your wallet file when you update. This may not be the case on Tails though (due to all this stuff with persistent storage, etc...), so in any case, just backup your wallet file before doing anything. IIRC, you can find it in the .electrum/wallets folder.
9702  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Someone help me out please on: July 26, 2019, 07:23:28 PM
Thanks for the reply. I've tried to see my seed that way but it is asking for my password. I have tried every password I have ever used and it's telling me they are all incorrect..
Hm... that's bad. I'm pretty sure you need this password to send your coins anyway.]

Didn't you write down your seed somewhere when creating the wallet?

I can see the transaction on the wallet which is strange surely that wouldn't show up if it couldn't sync?
You can see the transaction you received today? What happens if you try to send them?
9703  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Someone help me out please on: July 26, 2019, 07:12:39 PM
That's because versions older than 3.3 don't synchronize anymore. What you need to do is update your Electrum to the latest version.

Try going to "Wallet" -> "Seed" to view your seed.

Great! Can be converted to userscript! I mean using "Tampermonkey" extension or any ~similar..
I believe you can do this.

How to be sure this extension Exactly used same Open Source code and nothing else?
You can actually see the extension source code published on the Firefox store by using this website. See if everything is right, then download it: https://robwu.nl/crxviewer/

If you don’t mind using Firefox on your mobile device, there is this extension that makes BTTK look like the image you posted above.

9706  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: HELP!!Sent coin to electrum wallet receive address, never received. on: July 26, 2019, 07:23:54 AM
It could be because the transaction from your sending address hasn't been confirmed yet due to low transactions fees used. It would have been easy if you look at the sending address through any bitcoin explorer to see if there is any out going unconfirmed transaction and let us know Wink

Blockchain explorer shows no transactions at all for the destination address.   The memonic seed does not list the destination address either.
If there is no transactions showing up in the explorer, then the address really never received the coins. It isn’t a problem with Electrum.

Either you didn’t send the transaction or you sent it to the wrong addresses. Maybe you can check again in the wallet you’re sending the coins from?

~
It's the QR code at the top of the page (right where is the well). That's the whole point of his website (other than the donation stuff) - scan and "use" the whell.

The addresses you linked above are for the donation thing, so obviously it can't be a burn address, otherwise he wouldn't be able to donate/scam anyone.
9708  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: HELP!!Sent coin to electrum wallet receive address, never received. on: July 26, 2019, 03:31:37 AM
Which version of Electrum are you using? Versions older than 3.3 don't work anymore, so your transactions wouldn't show up. If that's the case, update immediately on ELECTRUM.ORG (the ONLY legit website).
9709  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Atlas Quantum - Scam or legitimate? on: July 26, 2019, 02:20:58 AM
It is SCAM or not. But it is not subject of this board. You should move your topic altcoin discussion board. I am sure you can find good answer in there.
^ the above is old, but I only saw it now. Re: this isn't a shitcoin, it's a website/service.

if you are Brazilian citizen and if you decided to go to this site (something not recommended) then you need to see this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkkf6c_EKWE

and about what I said in the last post:
This only affects people that buy BTC on their other website (Atlas BTC) as they are registered on Brazil. If you want to "invest" in their "arbitrage bot", this law doesn't affect them (because apparently "Atlas Quantum" is registered in another country - maybe even to avoid the government from asking for proof about their profits).
9710  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Digital Wishing Well on: July 26, 2019, 01:25:19 AM
How do you know it's a burn address? Just seems like a regular one to me?
"1PocoDosDesejosWishingWeLL76f5YUz"

Either he managed to make a vanity gen with 25 case-sensitive addresses (only 1 char less than Bitcoin's Eater address!!) or this is a burn address, so it sounds pretty obvious for me.

And he's promising it to go to good causes when it isn't..?
Why do you assume he isn't? Like I said, there is no way for us to know if he's really going to donate it or just keep it. Yes, this is the internet so it is most likely the second option, but we can't assume this. All we can do is not trust him (for obvious reasons) and then don't donate to him.

9712  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Digital Wishing Well on: July 25, 2019, 06:58:55 PM
Well, other from the fact that he asks for donations to help people (which we can’t know it’s true, but there this is no reason to assume he’ll just keep them), the address looks like a burn address which he most likely don’t have access to it (just like the BitcoinEater address). So why all the hate?
9713  Economy / Reputation / Re: Yobit support not responding on: July 25, 2019, 01:30:50 PM
The reason OP wanted to contact them is to get paid for using their signature. He doesn’t have a real problem...
9714  Local / Brasil / Re: Agora é Lei - Corretoras e também usuários deverão prestar contas à receita. on: July 25, 2019, 01:49:43 AM

9715  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Need help updating old Ledger Nano S firmware 1.2 on: July 25, 2019, 01:22:56 AM
Im curious but in previous updates, was it done the same way as this?  If you look at the instructions on the ledger site on updating firmware, it seem to ask you to first uninstall all your apps from your device.  Did you do this or did you not do this first before clicking firmware update?  Im almost close to 100 percent sure i did not do this the previous 2 times i did the firmware update a while back when i first got the nano ledger s.
It doesn't really matter... You're being overzealous again... They just tell people to uninstall the apps for the sake of doing. I never did and nothing ever happened.

Also the instructions now of unplugging it and then hold left button and plugging it back in and waiting for the bootlogger word showing on the nano ledger before you release the left button, is this the new method?  Im pretty certain this was not how it was done previously for older firmware updates?  I recall just clicking on firmware updates and then waiting... do you recall if this method now is different from previous?  What i do remember is the first time i did firmware update, my nano ledger had an issue with the mcu updating and it froze.  Then it took a while to fix the issue with hcp and your help i believe a long time ago.
I'm not sure, but it's the method described on:

1. the update prompt;
2. their video on the official youtube channel;
3. their website[1];

etc... it's official. There is nothing to worry about because you don`t recall this method of updating. It wouldn't even matter if it wasn't, since there is no way of a malicious website/software to install a fake/infected firmware.

Remember... be cautious not paranoid.

9716  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Need help updating old Ledger Nano S firmware 1.2 on: July 25, 2019, 01:02:02 AM
When i remove and then connect the nano ledger s back to my laptop, the first message on the nano ledger s it tells me is to install apps and follow the instructions from start.ledger.... then it goes to settings where im at now.  This is from the nano ledger screen itself.

Can you confirm this is the message they receive after doing the firmware update?  I had mentioned i did not know if i saw this message earlier on my ledger live or nano ledger but its the nano ledger itself.
Yes. A firmware update removes all installed apps. Since there isn't any, it just tells you to reinstall the apps.
9717  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Need help updating old Ledger Nano S firmware 1.2 on: July 25, 2019, 12:29:21 AM
That's exactly how you should do it. Disconnect and reconnect while holding the left button.

Here is a video showing all these steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5CymmI4BTQ
9718  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: address update on: July 24, 2019, 06:36:05 PM
i'm just asking because i see the addresses in my wallet and my coinbase wallet says it sent to the electrum on but electrum isn't showing any pending receiving transactions meaning i dont have any of the money i sent
What is your BTC address, if you don’t mind me asking? The one you sent the BTC from Coinbase.

Go to Electrum -> View -> Show Addresses. Now go to the Addresses tab and see if the address is there.

Also answer:
1. What version of Electrum are you using?
2. Where did you download it from? (The exact website)
9719  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: address update on: July 24, 2019, 06:23:21 PM
so any way to get my money back from an old address?

There is no such thing as “old addresses”. All your addresses are valid forever and can be reused forever as many times as you want. Read the above post again. The coins are there, so what are you trying to get back? Better to get some understanding on how Bitcoin works before playing around with it.

Electrum generates new addresses for every transaction for privacy reasons. Other than that, this doesn’t mean anything. All addresses “lead to the same wallet” and are spendable in this same wallet they were generated from.

Example: I receive 1 BTC in address A, Electrum generates a new address B. Later, I receive another 1 BTC on address A and then 0.5 BTC in address B. I now have 2.5 BTC (1+1 on A, 0.5 on B) and Electrum generated address C for next transaction. All addresses (A, B, C and successively) can keep receiving coins and will count for my wallet balance.
9720  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brutal Truth on: July 24, 2019, 06:20:49 PM
Google authenticathor doesn't support this as well. I didn't knew bitwarden allowed.
They do in their pro version (only $10/year).

Quote
But you can always check the keys on the origina website where you activated the 2fa, and with Authy you won't have problems accessing those accounts.
99% of the websites don’t let you see your 2FA code (for obvious reasons). So you will actually need to disable it and enable again on Bitwarden, which is boring af. Some even have limitations for when you restart your 2FA (e.g Steam with the trade limitations).

I honestly don’t see any reasons why anyone would use an 2FA app like this when there are so many better open source alternatives that let you export your codes.
