9701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interest in Bitcoin just skyrocketed in India on: November 17, 2016, 06:48:58 AM
After reading this post I decided to check the Indian market where they can buy Bitcoin and when I convert $ to their local currency that's 10000 Rs more. That's some crazy leap, one reason it could be that people have dumped their money which was banned in btc, or suddenly they have woken up to btc power and blindly invested in it. That's some high prices but, better wait for it to fall. And one last thing it's is legal to buy btc in India. I don't know which other country has legalized it.

Received the following PM today.

!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!

Hey bro. You were right Undecided the owner said if i helped him out and posted on this site to advertise he'd pay. Turns out it was a scam. I should have listened but I didn't will tell everyone it was a scam.

I didn't mean to give myself that reputation. I am a cool guy and people can trust me. But if a trusted user like you says that I will never be trusted.

It sucks that some people take so long to recognize a scam.  I had the loser pegged at day one.

Why dude why, when every one has been screaming since first page it's a scam, why are people even bothering to try. There's a reason why people are given higher ranking cause over a tome they are experienced. What is wrong with the Op again and again saying it's on. Why are you wasting people time, people won't fall for your trick
9703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there new people coming to Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2016, 03:06:26 AM
So just curious.  I know its almost impossible to tell how many people are actually using Bitcoin in the entire world. Maybe this might be a forum moderator question as well I suppose.  Are new people actively joining this Forum?  Are new people actually coming on to Bitcoin.  I have talked with several of my friends about it and had a couple of them even bite for a bit, but they quickly forget about it and they move on.  I guess I am just curious if Bitcoin trend is growing still or if it is more stable, or at a standstill.

Thoughts?

Intresting question op. The thing is it difficult to say whether new people would be coming in or not, as it's difficult to gauge the number of people coming in or not. Yes new people remember Bitcoin and then they forget it also. But I feel the trend is new people are coming to Bitcoin and sooner or later every one shall mostly be using just Bitcoin only
9704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBay and Bitcoin on: November 16, 2016, 05:02:42 PM
For a long time I have been reading that it's China who controls the Bitcoins market. 60-80% of sellers on eBay are from China. So my question is why don't they accept payments in Bitcoin and why they insist on the paypal only? Shouldn't they be changing according to times? Or they can't change due to regulations?
i am not satisfied with you word " only paypal" .
I am not sure that from which country you are but in my country every type of payment is available at Ebay.in .
But may be soon may be they can accept bitcoin .

HI don't know about eBay. In I buy from the global site eBay. Com and there only paypal is accepted. Bitcoin is the need of the hour and I wish more and more sites added the option of Bitcoin. So far not many are accepting it, and some are yet not convinced by it. So let's see if that happens soon, not only on eBay but all sites.
9705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBay and Bitcoin on: November 16, 2016, 07:29:30 AM
...

eBay owns PayPal, no?

If they already own a digital payment provider, maybe they would not welcome competition.

I would really much prefer to pay for eBay items with BTC, much quicker.  Quieter too.

The thing is eBay and paypal have split up. Bitcoin is the latest trend and it's popularity has surged. As many threads suggest here that China controls a he'll lot of btc. It's strange that thier sellers have not shifted to btc. I hope they do shift to btc soon. It will make buying really easy for me and other btc users

9707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying House with bitcoin from USA on: November 16, 2016, 04:22:11 AM
As of current date Bitcoin is not a usa approved currency. So buying in it is not legal at all. Secondly a court of USA had rejected it, so buying it in btc will only get you more legal problems. Plus since btc is not accounted for you could have the tax authorities coming down on you hard in USA and your country. Try and get your btc changed to usd. Find a way to bring it in your books, legal way of course and then go for it. Why create so many problems.
9708  Other / Off-topic / Re: How did you discover bitcoin? on: November 16, 2016, 03:44:52 AM
I had discovered it initially, way back when I it started. People were paying me in it and I was like no I don't need it. I so regret, that I never took it. Now every one has discovered it due to net. It's popularity has increased a lot over time, and today it's surging like anything. Mostly there were forums back then and now net and growing demand for a alternative has developed the need for Bitcoin
9709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is there to do with bitcoins these days ? on: November 15, 2016, 04:36:28 PM
Well Firstly it depends on what exactly do you want. Best is to buy and sell, and make a profit over it. Or keep on stocking it up. Or. Try and collect it and make a investment out of it. Or start a btc business out of it. Options are unlimited, but the correct one depends on what your wish is. Not what others want to tell you. Be smart, and wise.
9710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin woke up the Giants on: November 15, 2016, 01:57:01 PM
Bitcoin has not just brought us a decentralized P2P payment system or a alternative for the banks. It woke the Giants in the Fintech world. Before Bitcoin, clients at banks were treated as the scum of the earth, even more so, when you are middle class or poor.

Bitcoin came in and they threatened to disrupt the Banking and Remittance services. What happen? These financial services realized that they will lose money, and they suddenly dumped Billions of dollars into Blockchain based technologies and also user-friendly banking services with 24 hour access via Social media platforms like Facebook Messenger and WeChat and some of their own in-house apps.

We have not seen this level of attention given to clients for many years. Why, because the Giants were comfortable with their foot on our neck. They had the monopoly, backed by governments.

We should support Bitcoin to keep these Giants on their toes. If Bitcoin fails, these Giants will go back to sleep and we will be stuck with high fees and poor service.

This always happens buddy, when some one has niche and no one is close enough they start to dominate, they feel they can do anything and no one shall object to it. Bitcoin have taken the floor of their feet, for years all the harassed people have woken up and they are killing it. Bitcoin will help us but unfortunately not at the rate we all think it will. It will take a good 5-10 years before it's is firmly established, again that's a long time. But hey we could always use it to leverage in the current situation. So let's be positive about it.

Don't even open OP site, it's contain malware. Be careful guys. He's make a thread too at project development section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1680711.0

Hahaha I just don't get it why are we keeping this thread alive? Look I feel we no further need this thread active, and I have nothing against op but what if a fool decides to try out and then gets scammed he shall be troubled. Let's take a vote count those who feel thread needs to be locked say a yes. Let's do it for the good of every one. But if someone yet goes ahead and gets scammed don't make a new thread about it.

The prememir of China has spoken with Trump on the business Co operation part. Since trump has said there will be a tax on all China products, couldn't it be possible China pays them in btc or offers America a greater share in btc business and that allows them tax reliefs. I believe they will come down to some pact and btc will be a part of it. Matter of time now before details Come out
9713  Economy / Services / Re: I am paying $50 BTC too everyone who.... on: November 15, 2016, 05:05:40 AM
This post reminds me of a post on another forum where we all lost money, he promised to pay us 20000 satoshi's per day for our Bitcoin, higher Bitcoin high amounts of satoshi's. At first we were not keen but then a newbie deposited 2200 worth and posted he got paid, and rest is self explanatory we all jumped in got paid for a while and then bam. Gone, it took us a while but we realized both were same persons and that's what it looks here. Even if for time being let's say this is not a scam, instead of replying it's not, just Post a simple proof or get a escrow, link has already been provided. If the Op doesn't do it, I think this topic needs to be locked for good?

9715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese miners rejecting transactions from the US? on: November 14, 2016, 05:29:05 PM
I dont think this is really true. There's seem to be no logical connection. Maybe you could say there have been one or two incidents but I think you have blown it out of proportion. I feel Bitcoin market is to huge and both the super powers can Co exist. Maybe China is rolling out more btc, but let trump use btc and then you see or let America just accept it's use. Boom time. So relax, he shall make btc Americas new currency lol

Trump is a loud mouth, this is beyond any doubt

So far he has been threatening to outlaw the Chinese exports to the US (well, not really outlaw but quite close to that). If Trump is going to return American jobs back to America as he promised, he should first start the production of asics (or whatever equipment is used nowadays to mine Bitcoin) and then wrest the control over Bitcoin from the grasp of the Chinese miners. So, if he is going to outmine China and make Bitcoin great again, then more power to him

Yes he has chewed a lot more than he could eat, no doubt about it. But call him whatever one wishes, there some things people can't deny, he's a pure business man not a war general, Russia and usa are suddenly BFF, trump has to have his eyes on btc for long and I trust him to rise the btc either directly or indirectly. So give him time and see he shall benefit btc

There has been a lot of memes, and protests against Mr Trump. There is one among them which keeps on going through my mind again and again. The one which says Obama will be the last president of USA. Now another theory says there will be need of aliens announced and with that a new 3rd world War is coming and this war has been predicted long back. So what does this mean for the Bitcoin world, what if usa splits, aliens show up and the war begins. Will Bitcoin crash, will Bitcoin remain up and running.

9719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin 20 Years From Now on: November 13, 2016, 05:27:16 AM
We are now experiencing the efficient, fast and amazing convergence of technologies which one way or the other greatly contributing to the rise of the cryptocurrencies and making Bitcoin as the King of the Hill so far.

Looking into the future...what do you think will be the scenario involving Bitcoin twenty years from now? Will Bitcoin be worth more than a million or will it ceased to exist? Or will a new crytocurrency replace the supremacy of Bitcoin...?

I would like to give few scenarios a) let's start with positive. Bitcoin may shootup like say from current high of 1050 to 50-100k possibility or even more than that. All those who have had it will become super rich. It shall be the only legitimate currency.

b) now the worst may happen all countries decide to ban it, and ban it forums. It looses it value to 0.00001. Every thing that was about Bitcoins crashes and people loose their lifes cause of the looses. Again it could also happen but I hope not.

C) There is always a prophecy of a third world War, and who knows Bitcoin could cause it, say one country hoards 95% of it. Then converts it and destroys all the currencies. Anything is now possible but then it's just a theory.

I can think of more but I would be now interested to read the fellow comments, this would be really interesting
9720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing of Bitcoins is against Bitcoin. on: November 13, 2016, 04:57:05 AM
I agree to disagree with your post. You just can't keep storing and you cant just keep spending it. There something known as balance. If all would only sell price would go down as supply would be more than demand and on other hand if every one only stored prices would go up as supply would be low and demand high. But if you go to see its a balance world. People are spending and saving to. So you can't dictate terms and say sell sell or store store. It's a free world and it's better kept that way. What you could instead suggest is to sell when prices are high or for high returns in a project.

In my opinion bitcoin was developed as a way to create and transfer money. For everybody.
I don't think that it was intended to be a form of investment.
So in general I would be happy if people used it as payment whenever possible.
I think it's the fact that companies accept bitcoin as a payment why bitcoin is the most important crypto currency. And I would like it to stay that way for a while.

Indeed it was created for payment purposes, but it was definitely not to be limited for only payment purposes. Over a period it evolved and people used it very well. We live in a progressive time and have to evolve and we can't be stuck to old methods. Change is permanent, so I feel people should not stress whether it's yet investment or payment. People are smart enough to decide so let's keep it that way.

exactly because bitcoin was meant for payment purposes we have to store it!

because simply you can take a look around and see that there is not enough places where you can spend bitcoin, it is not yet accepted by the merchants which makes it hard to spend but easy to store and take the profit.

Even though it was created for payment purpose, people are looking at it as an investment and that is why it is getting more precious day by day just like traditional money or other valuable commodities like gold, silver etc. There are some pros and even cons but still if we are looking at it positively then ultimately getting more price will attract more eyeballs and thus it will help for the growth of our community too.

Look that is going to happen, currently it is picking up but yet many places it's yet to accept it. Prices fluctuations happen every where but in case of btc it is unregulated so it's difficult to control it. Many financial planners have suggested to keep a certain amount of money in btc to avoid global risks. So yes people will use it for payment purpose of and investment purposes also. It is also now being used for at swizz stations and in dubai but yet way long to go before its just for payment only. I feel it shall never be again limited to payment only.
