That 6,500 loss at the casino last few weeks has put a hurting on me. Smiley Damn why did I miss the initial spike! :|

Sometimes I get the impression that your gambling losses are just another form of boating accident Tongue

I lost all my coins in a casino on a cruise boat that sank.

In any case, yeah I feel you... 6.5 large ouch that sucks. Six Pumpkins And A Barney: Variance is a bitch. The CASINOS are EVIL (but yeah I still go too sometimes, trying to break the bad habit - been playing blackjack over thirty years, seen it all, everything possible that can happen in the game has happened to me at least once, sometimes twice LOL but I still find it tough to fully leave it alone for very long LOL)

PM me your email and I'll fill you in, thats as much info as I'm going to post on a public board. Smiley

$@#@ still pending and still dropping.

ok ladies & gentlemens....seeing as this is the speculation forum, lets speculate.

what do you think price may go to if when xmr gets listed on coinbase?    Grin

I would expect 3-5X the Kraken addition caused. Smiley

I have to make a decision today, I need to convert usdt to BTC and get some fiat so what do you guys think btc is gonna do today?
set up an account at tether.to and link your bank.
Deposit tethers in your tether.to account.  Wire dollars from tether.to to your bank.
The wire costs $20.

Costs less on coinbase. I converted and moved to coinbase and while it's pending the price is dropping. My luck is epic.

But your is certainly worse. Sad

Just now, I just bought ONE DASH COIN using about $100 worth of bitcoin that I was lucky enough to WIN today, totally unexpected fluke.

Does Bob Surplus still hold a bag of cloak?
He is out of Cloak for a long time! He probably already forget for this project, which has entirely different development team and plans. New tech has entirely new approach, we can discuss about it, if you are interested in new topic.

Nah, I warned all the cloak holders what he was going to do to them and they followed him to the slaughter anyway. I watched it all and that community was just too low brow for my taste, but thx. Toss the link to your new thread and I'll lurk it but I can't conceive of any way I'd get involved.

Soon. Tongue

Hello,
Do you find CloakCoin recent rise disturbing, and their new Enigma code as potential threat? They didn't open code so far, but plans are there. Can we see debate on this topic somewhere so people can judge for themselves. Wich system is better and gives more..?

9730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 15, 2017, 10:42:29 PM
...

Like any bubble the current Dash bubble will eventually crash and the pigs will go to the slaughterhouse. The impact on the broader Monero markets would be: A rising  default risk of Monero loans collateralized by Dash and a significant overall Monero short squeeze. Should this occur those who have taken delivery of their XMR  should be in the strongest position to profit from the resulting blood on the streets.

I agreed with you then and I agree with you now, those masternode coins are fueling this in concert with large Dash bagholders. This is a coordinated movement. But they could not keep XMR price suppressed forever so I expect as XMR rises dash should start the inverse and then boom the big dump is going to be epic.

What I am not sure of is if the dumpers will hold in BTC or rebuy lower (probally) or move into other markets. I think that is the million dollar question.

Anyway it's really nice to see the positive movement going on!

Happy with price, but it's still looking oversold...

I never understood why you think it's oversold? What is your crystal ball saying? We get about 18k per day right? It looks to me like it's being held tighter lately. and the 1k of btc on the buy side that keeps popping up and disappearing seems to be a manipulator so maybe the 100k on the sell is as well?

I take a look at weekly Stoch RSI charts from time to time and late Feb was as oversold as it's been since mid October last year.  We peaked around Christmas (new dollar ATH set) while we went up along WITH Bitcoin (which was pretty amazing).  We have been heading back to a more balanced position, but it's still not overbought yet from what I see. Just er... Goldilocks-ish.

I have noticed this rise (while volume is at last healthy) has still seen far less BTC stacked on the buy side.  So the BTC that's in Polo is not so much aimed at XMR. You're right to say coins for sale appear to be held tightly.

I think people know XMR could spike so they are keeping an eye, but Dash and ETH are scooping up the Oxygen.  I expected a spring bounce in late Feb, but of course we flatllined until a few days ago.   It's a price reset that was due - but I still think there is room for more - depending on many outside factors..  BTC direction, scaling and forks, Dash eventual crash....

I do not have a crystal ball, but I do have one or two XMR and I keep my eyes well and truly open.

Yup, so how does Stoch RSI charting work on VC as opposed to stocks?

No "real"proof except for the funds would have would not be sent out in little amounts stretched over a long period of time. If i was to move my funds it would be all at once. I was greeted with a you must update you wallet files, so I wanted to make sure I didn't screw anything up. I guess I could fire up an old wallet show you screenshots of the screen with the funds there but at soon as it hits that day the balance drops to 0.

Again, just looking for some advice on what appears to have happened. I still have the original wallet files and keys. I made backups before I started the update process. Have also only used the command line wallet.

So I assume the coins are gone, but I was wondering it there was any significance to that date (1/17/2016).

Thank you again.

Also my main name on here was sk00t3r, I'm fairly confident that it was hacked, these is not my first two posts. I have tried everything to recover my original account.

You can clearly tell someone hijacked my btctalk account look at the grammar at my early posts, the last post by me was October 16,2014. Then look at what it has turned into in later posts starting with the very next post February 3rd 2016. Something happened in those 3 months and I can promise you it was not me making any post after my final post on October 16, 2014.

Thank you all again.

I am sorry for your loss!
What Operating System were/are you using to store your XMR. If you usr products from Richmond US you should consider changing that to an UNIX'isch for that porpuse since we all know that WIN is the same like FB in terms of privacy and security of your data.

Hope you find that bastard  Roll Eyes Cheesy

These are some strange and interesting developments.

Be sure to use 16 digit passwords, and don't use the same ones for any other accounts than BTCtalk. You may even consider using Apple products and VPN/TOR for added security - although the captchas are not fun LOL

LOL, this is a joke right? And using VPN doesn't protect you if the VPN provider is the one screwing you.

Who said you have to buy a vpn service. VPS + OpenVpn = MyOwnVpnService  Grin
Yup and you could run your own ISP as well or even create your own network but whatever you use can be sniffed as soon as you connect to the WWW. So who hosts your OpenVpn box? Adding VPN encryption adds security but does not guarantee your anonymity. But anyway what I thought amusing was the USE APPLE PRODUCTS comment.

Morning all (and nice to see Risto back with a post)

Sipping my morning coffee and I see we are over $17 again, in spite of BTC resilience post ETF.

Volume on Polo buy side back at healthy levels, too.

All rather good....

EDIT: And back to no. 4 market cap - comfortably above Ripple.  Cream in my coffee today Wink

I'm actually happy to see the sell back down to low 200k's, It's been a very long time since I've seen that!

Monero has the largest vol on bisq:

Bisq? WTH is that? Ahh a rename of bitsquare. Wanna explain how that works? I've never used it. is there an escrow system or something? How do they decentralize the transactions?

Ha! Pun-tastic stuff...

At least Moneroans have a sense of fun.

And on the speculation front, concerning the 'Amanda-less' coin we follow - more price action.   Rising again - having anther go at 0.014x levels, with buy side up above 2K BTC on Polo...

The spike is not over just yet.

My bids keep getting overtaken by a big wall.  I'm done chasing, so it should be a healthy spike up now  Roll Eyes

Yeah, when the bots want to buy you have no chance of catching a sell. Sad

But luckily when that is going on the gap is usually thinner between points. Smiley

Thank you for all your help guys, I am now working with Poloniex. It seems both my accounts were banned from this forum this will be my new username. Thank you again, I am a crypto noob.

To answer your question above, the XMR was mined on a computer for a few weeks. The backup files were then pushed to an external HDD. The computer that was used to mine the XMR was wiped (diskpart cleaned, initialized, repartitioned, then full format) and reimaged to a family member. I have not used the external HDD in some time as its been sitting in my office. The password that was used is pretty secure 12 characters long, used uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters. I am a Systems Engineer (I know titles don't mean anything), but I thought I took all precautions but apparently sometime after I stopped mining on 9/15/2014 and 1/17/2016 someone got access to my wallet files and the password, or more likely before I stopped mining it just took that long to hack? I'm just not sure.

Again I am very thankful for all the help you have provided me with guys/gals. Thanks again.

Good luck and let us know what the outcome is, or pm me if you don't mind. I'm pretty interested in this now. Smiley
