9721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do lot of people hate bounty dumpers? on: August 19, 2018, 10:37:19 AM
I've seen lot's of people who complain to bounty hunters who dump their tokens after they get them. Why hate them? They have all the rights to sell whenever they want and bounty allocations are only 1%-5% of the total supply of the coin. I don't think it will do much to lower the price of the coin. I mean it's even good for the ICO investors as they will have a chance to buy more tokens with lesser price than the ICO.

Holding the tokens also doesn't mean it will make you rich. Some tokens get abandon by the developers so it would be better to sell at a good price than be left hanging in the end.

You're right in the end. We should never find someone to blame, find scapegoats and it is easy to label bounty hunters and bounty dumpers.

But I think part of the dislike for them is that they never really gave a shit about the project. They tell us that they work hard. They say they do a lot of work but they literally just copy paste things, add no constructive value to any project and then get out as soon as their tokens are listed.

Fair to say this is the same behavior as project developers.

So no one should be blamed, unless you blame the entire system. I just don't like bounty hunters because they play no part in helping crypto. They don't use the tech. They don't help it get adopted. Nil.
9722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: PopCoin- The World's First Proof of Play Cryptocurrency - 2 ETH FREE! on: August 19, 2018, 08:47:00 AM
We’ve designed the contract so a few key constants, including the rate rake, will be able to be adjusted over time. Limits to the rate of this change are built into the contract and changes will always apply to future, never current games. The contract will also have a "nuclear option", a function that, if we call it, will prevent even us from making any future changes to these constants including the rake.

You make a good point that as more PopCoins are mined the incentive for new players to enter the game will decrease; as this happens likely the rake will be lowered.

We’re also of course hopeful that by the time a large majority of PopCoins have been mined the game will have a healthy player base and rounds will be generating pots large enough that play will largely come from organic interest in these pot sizes and not only a desire to mine PopCoin.

Also as a technicality, all PopCoins will never be completely mined. The rate PopCoins are issued at will decrease as more are issued, but this rate will only approach 0, never quite reach it.

Thank you for that explanation again, I do think it is one of the more interesting concepts to be introduced lately, but I will say that the early people, like me, if I plan on joining, will definitely want to own the PopCoins and those that come later may not be as incentivized to join for the lack of rake shares/popcoins.

August 20 2 UTC for launch is about 18 hours from now, looks really exciting. How will we know it has launched? When that ETH pot shows positive? Will we be able to deposit from an exchange or casino or must we stick to MetaMask?
9723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single Bet Roulette Strategy on: August 19, 2018, 07:56:08 AM
We all know strategies don't work in the long term. Long term payout will always prove to be accurate to the probabilities. But yes, it should be added here that while house edges on Bitcoin dice games are low, they are usually much higher on roulette. So anyone wanting to do simple martingale strategies for many hours should stick to dice. Simply because of house edge.

Roulette for me is pure fun when you only want to bet a few hands.
9724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BEST Betting-Dice-Poker-Slot gambling sites- Need assistance. on: August 18, 2018, 01:42:08 PM
Weird that you would think casino playing/gambling is trading.

First lesson: there are no guaranteed strategies.
Second lesson: Deposit only what you can afford to lose. Big words of wisdom but nobody pays attention. This means, if you deposit money, consider that you will never get it back again. So don't borrow, don't put in savings etc. Consider it a fee to enjoy yourself.

Third lesson: If you want to have fun for a long time and not lose too much money, Bitcoin casinos are for you. I've been playing around for years now online but only one year plus with Bitcoin. Deposit $10 to $20 every month, it is enough for you to enjoy while chatting and playing small games thousands of times. I deposit a bit more because I like sports and I like to build up my account levels for later. Then I get bigger faucets, bigger rewards. Means I play longer and don't have to deposit so much later on.

It's fun. Don't make it not fun.
9725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 18, 2018, 12:16:44 PM
I like to put in a bunch of predictions at least a week in advance without really thinking about it. Then look at them all again in more detail the day or two before and see if my reasoning matches my gut feelings from the week before.

Yes, same here. I mean, it can be a bit silly to put in random numbers because like today I am late to change anything for Newcastle match which has just started (I predicted them to win) but that's why for now I just put all the predictions for a normal win, 2-0 or such, based on my feelings for them. Like LFC says though, form is always something to look for so I always put in advance predict wins for the big guys, and draws for the teams I'm not so sure.

But that's still better than getting your picks made to the most popular, because the most popular isn't always right, as FIFA world cup showed.
9726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A man in UAE took six figure loan and lost 85% of his crypto value on: August 18, 2018, 12:03:47 PM
This guy was just unlucky. If he had done the same thing just 6 months earlier, or 6 months later, like in June 2018, he would have had less worry. June 2017 would make him rich and June 2018 would make him either a holder or a small loss trader.

In fact, he probably heard about someone who did similar and tried to do the same.

I feel really bad for him, but then it's his mistake, and I am sure he can afford the loan. UAE citizens earn well, he just has to pay back all his salary for the next year or so, and if he does that, likely crypto will return their value to him. Auto holder I guess.
9727  Economy / Marketplace / Re: OKEx Coin Delisting on: August 18, 2018, 11:28:30 AM
I have semi active accounts at Poloniex, Bittrex and OKex and a few others and I can tell you, I have never received any email at any time from any of these exchanges about new listings or even delistings. Basically, I just keep on their Twitter or blog. If anything is announced, this happens on Twitter.

It's not such a great way to keep alerted because they can get drowned out then again I don't have that many moneybags at these exchanges that I worry too much.

If you want serious holding for alts, use your own wallet, true?
9728  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 Treasure Chest Is Back! 🎰🎰🎰 on: August 18, 2018, 09:02:09 AM
Ah okay, so it wasn't just me then. Good that Alex knows about it. Should be a really simple fix, maybe it's just the way the pdf is loading, I guess html text would be fine. I know it's just a tos but if newcomers are like me, they'd probably want to have a quick skim over terms before depositing anything.

Sports betting is awesome indeed. In time for European Champions League too!
9729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does long sale periods say about the ICO? on: August 17, 2018, 09:35:22 AM
I think it is not so much the duration of the sale period that makes a problem for investors confidence, rather than that when they keep changing or delaying or postponing that affects confidence.

For me, if ABC says they will do 3 months presale, 3 months public sale and etc, I have no problems. But if they say 1 month and then suddenly becomes 5 months, or if they say 1 Jan but delay to 1 Jun, then I have a problem because if they can't even do ICO to schedule, then what about their roadmap?

Even 1 year is okay for me. But not EOS 1 year where there was no cap!
9730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale and Roulette on: August 17, 2018, 07:43:25 AM
A big LOL to this one. For the others, long as you have a big bankroll, you can make profit. That's it. Just have an infinitely big bankroll Cheesy

Now that I am thinking about it, I wonder if there's a casino with the biggest possible wager that would allow to maximize such a Martingale strategy? I know 999dice has 40 BTC max profit so that's 40 BTC on a x2 martingale which means you could go for a 36-streak martingale on x2 payout, starting at 1 satoshi and 36th bet at 34.36 BTC.

I suppose you could go all day autobet. Chances of hitting a losing streak 36 times in a row is 1 in 34 billion or something because of house edge.

If you can do 100k bets a day = 50,000 satoshi profit  average daily.

Chances then become that you bust 1 every 34,360 days, almost 100 years.

So if you only play for 1 year, you have a 1 in 100 chance of busting that. If you get away with this. you make BTC 0.1825

Worth risking 40 BTC?
9731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WinDash.us -- The Social DASH Gambling Game (Faucet Available) on: August 17, 2018, 06:23:03 AM
Another crash game. Why it is called a social gambling game? We are not playing against another player. Only social interaction i can see is the live chat on your website.

Because, just like that other game people are talking about above, this is just the work of a programmer/developer that can only tweak some parts of the package to do something that's easy. Change the currency, design but the code works much the same. They say that they've improved the script but they didn't even take out the original tagline of Bustabit, which is social gambling. I think the word social just meant people could chat and play/interact against each other when they played (you get a bonus for being the longest to stay in the game so it's sort of peer pressure at play). Original concept and great one too, as proven by all the clones. Just like how popular dice concept will always be.

Sorry to be harsh but yeah, that's a little lazy.

First of all, it's better to know that the original code that is open source on the internet is about 3 years ago and it is very buggy and for launch even for the default currency (bitcoin), there is a lot of need for change. Moreover, changing the currency requires major changes to the code. Because new currencies use modern technologies for security, wallet addresses, and so on. So, although the appearance of the site is not different, but the site code for the current currency is quite up-to-date and secure.

Okay fair enough, yes I think original games have buggy codes, which is probably why it is so rare to see new code for new games, and why it is easier to build something from an existing source. This is no problem. I guess if you do just 2 things it will really help. Make it clear on the site to pay tribute to bustabit and the original code so it is very clear that you use it for inspiration but the code and script and improvements are all yours so you can get credit for that too. Nobody brings up how dice sites copy each other because they don't look the same.

Just remove the social gambling thing and people won't be reminded all the time. Make your own tagline.

9732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: August 17, 2018, 05:20:33 AM
Say whaaat, Athletico? The one time I bet on the prize horse, I get a drubbing. EPL's going to miss Costa I think, just look at the way he scores, not beautiful but pure instinct. We haven't really had that type of poacher in a while. Sure we've got the bloodhounds, even Sturridge can be said as one for Liverpool, and we got the Lukakus but anyway. Chalk my loss down to luck, without taking away credit from the winners.

@LFC: looks like they didnt' manage to dent Sergio Ramos, but it also looks like we won't need him injured to see Real collapse.

I want them in the group stage bro, I want Real blood shed ar Anfield Cheesy
Keita will tear into them, didn’t tell you did I, I went to the game last weekend with my younger brother. 4-0 great start to the season, I’m not going to C Palace away but I’m going to the Brighton game at Anfield next Saturday. Going with the Mrs for that one so making it a 2 night stay Cheesy

This was my view vs West Ham (high up in the new Mainstand).

Wow you are living in Liverpool too? I think it's so amazing to see people in this forum being able to post pictures of the football games, that is so crazy! I never went to anywhere near those places to watch all the good European football. I had a funny story my cousin was in London just after her wedding in 2012, she went out and partied with her best friend, and they hooked up for drinks and a concert with some guys didn't know anything. Came home and I saw their selfies and apparently she went out with a bunch of Hotspurs guys because I recognized Jermain Defoe haha.

Nice picture, I don't really have a favorite English team but Liverpool was very entertaining last season!
9733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: when the dogcoin flying to moon? on: August 17, 2018, 05:02:08 AM
You sort of just answers your own question, in that Dogecoin is a memecoin so you never know how it'll move, its sheer popularity with tipsters and random do-gooders and just the internet meme community should never be underestimated. You're also wrong about it being abandoned by developers. You should check it on github or even on reddit and you can see it's still being developed, just really slowly.

But you're right. Moon is not the right term. Then again, did anyone predict it would ATH last year?
I didn't answered my own question. I'm giving him a hint on why Dogecoin will fly to the moon given that it has unlimited supply and less talk for this coin.

With a meme coin, we know on where its going and there's nowhere to go for that coin. But the good part is everybody loves dogecoin although its already one of the coins that has really no use at all.

I'm not sure about the developers but that's what I know that they already abandoned it but if they are developing it slowly still it remains a memecoin.

I don't have predictions for Dogecoin, how about you?

I don't know about nowhere to go, I know that crypto is unpredictable, and what more to say a memecoin that is so unique and so widespread and still never being dropped off the list.

Dogecoin unlimited supply is also only theoretical. You can mine as much as you can but one day the difficulty will go up so much that the algorithm will practically prevent more from entering the system unless you're willing to lose money.

Or did we forget Ether is also practically unlimited?

Also predictions for Doge. I don't have any. I never predict seriously because I know it's all just nonsense to try think we know the market.
9734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tron(TRX) is the top 3 cryptocurrency in the market - trading volume on: August 17, 2018, 04:44:22 AM
I do not think I ever heard that coins that are in the top 15 in cmc by trading volume are indicated by fraud. I used to think that way, garbage coins, duplicate white paper, very unattractive projects. Last week since their mainnet announcement, the acquisition of bittorent ... it caught my attention ... and started researching what justin had done to this tron project and tried their wallet by using my ledger ... I think trx is pretty exciting right now .. but not for full investment there but trying to start small investment while looking at further developments

But, but, but. What is Tron itself doing? The cryptocurrency TRX. Any company can announce mainnet, any company can do acquisition and mergers. You tried their wallet with ledger, okay great. Have you used it to spend on anything or buy anything yet? Have you tried using it for what it is supposed to do? Do you know any TRX user who is or who wants to or who even knows how to?

Let's be serious and see the truth. The only difference about TRX and other coins can be that they raised enough money to do good marketing and business development. But to me, in the sense that all their volume is just trading, and all their holders probably don't even intend to use its full abilities... that makes it vaporware same as a lot of others.

Tron is still a young project.
You can't have everything now and right now.

I'm not asking for everything now and right now... but that's sort of what I'm saying actually if you understand.

It's a young project. So it needs a really strong community that wants to use it the way it was meant to be. It needs to start not with big expensive partnerships and Ledger wallets and public listed companies etc. But this is what it's trying to do, buy those partnerships now and right now.

Do things properly and do things well, create something everybody needs and wants now, and all that growth will be organic. Litecoin, Bitcoin, Monero, etc. they all achieved all this organic growth and that's why they are where there are now.
9735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: shapeshift.io alternative?? on: August 16, 2018, 10:11:21 AM
Looks like only stomachgrowls was the one who actually offered an alternative that was similar to shapeshift (changelly). Every post almost doesn't seem to understand the user wants something that is instant, that you don't need to register for and all that.

My other alternative I know of is https://n.exchange/ I think it is based in the UK. Tried it, very fast, but it was only for small amounts of Ether and Litecoin to Bitcoin. I think they only had a handful of choices at the time but must surely offer more now.

Christ, when I thought I've seen everything.

Thank you for that eloquence.

Guys, all of you out there who think you can "solve Bitcoin's XYZ problems", pay attention to what's going on with Bitcoin before you even dream to hire some marketer to write your whitepaper with napkin ideas.

1. Bitcoin's Biggest Problem? It's not scalability. If it was, it's solved. They're doing far more technologically advanced solutions than most altscoins can even imagine, WITHOUT needing a single cent or ICO.
2. Like TaderTimm points out, wow, have you not been following big blockers for the past 2 years?
9738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: when the dogcoin flying to moon? on: August 16, 2018, 06:51:41 AM
With unlimited supply and less hype on this coin? it's unlikely for it to fly to the moon.

Dogecoin is a meme coin so why you think its worth it for you to invest with that? this coin has even been abandoned by its developers but its still going on in exchanges and even in casino's.

You can sell when it moved 20-50 sats but I don't think moon is the right term.

9740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indian Government to allow crypto tokens, but not cryptocurrency on: August 16, 2018, 05:21:50 AM
Seriously our Indian officials are pretty lazy when it comes to progressive thinking. When countries like Japan, South Korea and even America are allowing cryptos our RBI and govt. wants to ban it. And instead launch their own crypto. Why should we invest in this national crypto when they don't even allow us to trade other cryptos.

Don't worry, it's not just in India. I used to think some countries were more progressive than others simply because their people thought differently. But after spending some times with civil servants everywhere, I've now seen and understood a little better. Sometimes, it's just because of a few powerful individuals all stuck within a system that forces them to act like that.

You can see the same bright minds in some places, but who are unable to shine because the system snuffs it out as soon as it emerges. So I don't doubt there are great Indian officials, just a terrible system that needs an old generation to pass before something like crypto can be heard.
