9741  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-04-22] How Cashaa Exploits Bitcoin Price Differentials for Remittances on: April 24, 2017, 01:40:37 AM
According to the article this is what Cashaa does.

Founded in 2016, the service works by connecting traditional remittance participants with two traders, each of whom are able to execute bitcoin-fiat trades in each local currency. Due to price arbitrage opportunities that exist in the global crypto markets, the traders using Cashaa are able to make a profit while filling Cashaa's order book.

My question is could a service like Cashaa be created as a layer on top of bitcoin or as a service in a platform like Ethereum so that users can take advantage of the price differentials on different exchanges?

9742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion on: April 24, 2017, 01:25:37 AM
@gabmen. I was also thinking that if you consider the unpredictability of Game of Thrones, then there is a good chance that Jon Snow will not rule the seven kingdoms.

Another character in the story who is not shown last season but is still alive is Gendry. Where is he? Ned Stark had him protected because he is King Robert's true heir.

I don't think Jon Snow will rule simply because he doesn't want to rule. Besides, everybody knows that kings are usually replaced quickly by a new one and that you generally live longer if you are in a position that is not the king (like Littlefinger has done so far).

I am talking more about what George R. R, might do with the story than what the character Jon Snow is inclined to do. The writer has always made the story very unpredictable and to the point of making it shocking. Remember when Robb Stark's own allies killed him, his wife and his unborn child also named Eddard?

9743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum’s Proof of Stake is 75% complete on: April 24, 2017, 12:51:39 AM
What will happen to the miners of Ethereum after the switch to proof of stake? I have asked this question before and I have received a lot of answers that say they will mine other coins. They are in denial of the certainty that those miners will go to the cryptocoin that is most convenient for those miners. ETC.

The hashrate of ETC increased to almost 2 terrahashes and rising. The price is also rising at a good pace together with hashrate. If the hashrate of ETH is falling then we could see that a shift is happening.

It is this article made me think about the ETH and ETC landscape.

The Taipei Ethereum Meetup

Vitalik Buterin is one of the biggest players behind Ethereum, he is one of the founders and currently working as lead developer. Vitalik Buterin showed up at the Taipei Ethereum meetup, where he made a statement that the prerparation for Proof of Stake are now 75% complete. This is good news for all the people who are expecting the release of Ethereums next stage.

Where is Ethereum heading towards?

This is not the very first time where Ethereum came into news headlines. In one of the recently held interviews, Hudson Jameson, another founder and a  member of the Ethereum Foundation, gave an insight about the cryptocurrencies development. He explained how the roadmap for Ethereum will look like in 2017. Within a period of six months, they are looking forward to release the next version of their code, which is called Metropolis. After that, the consensus protocol will be switched from proof of work to proof of stake.

9744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero's Achilles' heel ? on: April 24, 2017, 12:23:02 AM
Thank you for the clarification.

You're welcome.
You could close the thread, since it became a battleground like most threads about Monero.
Quite a shame, since it started nice. Maybe too nice Cheesy

It would not be too shocking if we find out that this is part of a misinformation strategy to discredit Monero. Andrew Miller is a consultant of Zcash just in case none of you know. Fluffypony himself does not believe the purpose of the paper is for research purposes as mentioned in this article.

Fluffy Pony ensures the research is not the issue. The problem is the paper was portrayed as alleging that Monero is not capable of providing anonymity. It was published just an hour prior to the hardfork. One of the authors even praised the paper as proving the grave secrecy weakness of this virtual currency. They were not researchers striving to improve the environment but paid by ZCash and its associates to malign Monero.

I read it from here https://www.crypto-news.net/monero-transactions-history-could-be-revealed-and-exposed/

That article offers a simple and newbie friendly explanation.

9746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Chickening? on: April 23, 2017, 02:22:05 AM
Litecoin is just a good lab, that's all

A lab with a billion dollar market cap coming. Litecoin will get all the development it needs once segwit is activated. There are some developers from bitcoin willing to do the work on litecoin's Lightning Network.
9747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion on: April 23, 2017, 01:14:24 AM

9748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin SegWit will be activated in less than 11 days on: April 23, 2017, 01:01:30 AM
it is getting too hard to follow what is going on with Litecoin's SegWit activation these days, i imagine Charlie Lee running around door to door, talking to everyone and convincing them about SegWit. Smiley

anyways i changed the title to TBD (to be determined) since it has been well below 75% for some time and we don't know when that is going to change.

the good news is that price doesn't care about it apparently Cheesy

Market never did care about deadwit.

It is the direct LTC to FIAT Wallet on Coinbase , that is what matters and when it activates.   Cheesy

 Cool

Then please explain why litecoin is going up? Of course it has something to do with segwit. Why do you keep telling it is not? Are you trying to make us believe that it is not or are you in denial?
9749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to hold many cryptocurrencies on: April 23, 2017, 12:50:31 AM
I was wondering what your suggestion to holding multiple cryptos is?

Obviously I don't want to hold even medium amounts of the stuff on exchanges, but it's incredibly tedious to have to download seperate wallets for my computer, synchronize everything and.... well, yeah.

What's your strategy on this?

i hold my many currency in a secure vmware machine, dedicated to all the altcoin, in this way if there are virus it remain there, and the other mahcien are secure, you can also easily make a saved point with a virtual machien and restore form there if you lose your wallet because of a crash, and suspend option come in hand because it let you maintaining all the wallet openend at once even if you restart

This is smart. Do you download the whole blockchain for each cryptocoin or do you use the SPV wallet if there is one?

More developers should make more wallets like Jaxx but wth more coins included. Keeping Monero is my biggest problem because I have to download the full blockchain.

Fcuk Daenerys, I'm team Cersei Lannister! But I think White Walkers will rule because winter is here Grin

You might be correct. We might have a dark ending for Game of Thrones, guessing how the mind of George R. R. Martin works. If there will be a long winter then we might see everyone from Westeros sail east under the banner of Daenerys.
9751  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-18] Bitcoin Price Keeps Above $1200 as Traders Start Fleeing Bitfininex on: April 21, 2017, 01:13:12 AM
@alani123. Yes now some people in the forum are questioning if their BFX tokens really helped them recover all the hacked funds in a short amount of time. Where did all that money come from? Can anyone explain completely how the tokens raise the amount of the hacked funds?
9752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opinion about my holdings. on: April 21, 2017, 01:02:53 AM
Dump everything else except bitcoin and buy litecoin. I speculate segwit will be activated in 3 months and from there we will not see litecoin at these prices again. The future of the cryptospace is in smart contracts and having that component on litecoin depends on the activation of segwit. It is risky, yes but do not forget the miners signalling segwit is at 65% - 75%.
9753  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-04-21] BTC-E also having banking issues like Bitfinex? on: April 21, 2017, 12:42:16 AM
I read this article today when I got home from work and learned that BTC-E is also having banking issues like Bitfinex. I searched the internet for more information but there is no news or no announcement on Twitter that they are having problems. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

While it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold, with BTC-e and OKCoin joining Bitfinex in announcing banking issues, the developments have sparked some fears of wider crackdowns on exchanges.

BTC-e representatives told CoinDesk its issue had to do with a third-party payment service, Mayzus, one it reported happens multiple times a year.

As such, it's possible the uptick in issues is merely reflective of the tough environment bitcoin businesses have always faced when seeking to secure banking partnerships.

I also saw Gotottack's problem. Is gambling discussion considered for this campaign? If the answer is no then I am afraid I might back off from my application.
9755  Economy / Services / Re: YO-EX Signature Campaign [Pay Per Post]{PAUSED} on: April 20, 2017, 12:04:43 PM
This isnt a case of they dont want to spend the money or anything like that. He wants to keep the campaign going but i do not operate without the funds in most cases. Its better for me to pause the campaign til funds are secured and restart it anew vs you guys waiting 1 week 2 weeks or who knows how long.

Then theres the possibility they never refill the address, if i decided not to pause the campaign then alot of you would feel like i owed you or you deserved to be paid for your posts. Obviously i would agree your owed for your posts, but i dont want to be put in that position.

We understand Yahoo, do not worry. Thank you.
9756  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice Casino Signature Campaign [WILL START 1 DECEMBER] on: April 20, 2017, 12:28:45 AM
Looking forward in seeing the payment coming through just like last week's was.
That was above expectations and was very surprised to see it when I saw it received.
Not knowing what it was at first then saw it was from the payment address for this campaign.
Hoping to see this repeated again for this week. Smiley

You need to really stop spreading FUD about how it was expected that the payments wouldn't be made. BitDice handles thousands of investor bitcoins and has processed withdrawals of hundreds of bitcoins. Do you really think a signature campaign payout will be something that's not getting handled? Please...
Observations about payment frequency that everybody can see and the participants who receive them are FUD?

Alright then.

I will just wait for this weeks payment and see if it received like last week, that's all really I can do.

If you reread what I had said was that it had improved since the one a week before since that one was paid out over 72 hours after the previous ones.
So this is something not to be concerned about? Ok then, your welcome, since you said please.

You didn't just tell us your observations you told us how you didn't expect to get a payment for work you did for a reputable casino. The tone in your posts to the thread aren't something I'm very fond of. You don't seem pleased to be a part of the campaign so I'm considering replacing you with somebody who is. I doubt I'll have a single problem finding someone suitable.

I'll be informing about my decision at the end of the upcoming week.

I would like to have his slot if he does not want it anymore.

@TraderTimm. Can you post the wallets of Bitfinex so that we can monitor all their outgoing transactions? Everyone in the community should start to know what is going on and withdraw their coins now if they still have some at Bitfinex.
9758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 213: Bisping vs GSP Info and Prediction Thread on: April 20, 2017, 12:17:21 AM
Michael Bisping only got lucky versus Luke Rockhold when he won the title. The fight before that versus Anderson was close and some say that Anderson won that fight. Then the fight after was versus Dan Henderson, another fight that made Michael look bad.

@LFC_Bitcoin. GSP is better than Michael but the problem is he came out of retirement and his last fight was a long time ago. He is also in a new weight division.

‘GAME OF THRONES’ SEASON 7 SPOILERS: A FAN FAVORITE IS SET TO RETURN, BUT WHO IS IT?

Read in full http://www.inquisitr.com/4155641/game-of-thrones-season-7-spoilers-a-fan-favorite-is-set-to-return-but-who-is-it/

I am sharing this to whoever thinks it will be an advantage to their betting. The article contains small spoilers and it is nothing that I personally have not read yet. I also have an idea who that fan favorite character is because I have waited for *** last season but disappointingly did not appear.

Will Syrio Forel be back?

I forgot about him. He was one of my favorite characters in season 1.

Did you know that there are theories that Syrio is really the faceless man, Jaqen H'ghar? There were threads about it on Reddit.
