Hey the link that you have shared is working fine, I believe issue lies either with your host, or try clearing your cookies and cache at times this does happen. I don't think there has been any official decision made regarding sports betting, as neither Alex or Boxxob has commented on it, best thing we can do is wait, from what I recall their aim is to have further upgrades on the site, once that is take care of they're planning on adding new games. As you see sports betting will take quiet a while as they already got their plate full.

P.S. It goes without saying Alex and his team will definitely give Industry acceptable odds, maybe some promotional odds can be expected maybe not. The definition of best is vague as not all will agree what's best odds, again keep in mind, they're getting into a whole new setup I would like to give them time, rather rush with demands.

Tried it several times, maybe it is just my side. I know I sometimes have to reload multiple times to get into certain sites, even for BitDice, I know I don't have the best internet access and so many people sharing my line. Anyway, no big deal, at least I know this is just something on my side.

I know there's no official decision, but I just read the blogpost from end of July which said they were already discussing with 2 companies on integrating sportsbook and I want to add from a sportsbettor point of view that best odds are more important than anything else, second most important bets settle quickly and fairly. Some bookies take forever to settle, acceptable for some sports, but usually for most big sports, 12 hours is maximum I can wait.

I did say they should definitely take their time Smiley just to give my several cents.
9762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale and Roulette on: August 10, 2018, 06:32:36 AM
Martingale is always a risky strategy, as are all other strategies. However, if you're lucky and you stick to your limits, they'll all can work and if you're not lucky all strategies will fail.

Last week we've witnessed an epic session of someone on roulette, who not only used the black/white bets, but also placed very risky bets surrounding/attacking certain numbers, which worked very well. And the guy walked away with over 3200 ETH (value in USD was 1.3 million that day).

Here's an example of one of his big hits:

Incredible. Did the guy talk to anyone after that win? I have never sat down for 4 hours to gamble like that and since roulette is manual, I guess this guy was really the one sitting there making those bets.

I always martingale, I guess everyone does, sooner or later. Strategies always work out for a long time of course if you walk away before the ultimate fail Wink but if you have the right patience, right discipline and right bankroll, I guess a bit of luck means you can make it big.

Millionaire and the price is even not ATH.
9763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitpay URIs to traditional BTC addresses on: August 10, 2018, 06:28:25 AM
Does that mean if you can use Bitpay without extracting the address, people can guess what your wallet is? I

Do do you mean that someone can find out your address if you are using the bitpay service to receive payments?
If thats what you have meaned, then yes..

Addresses are public information. Anyone can see them. Even if you use BIP70 payment requests.
At least after someone has made a transaction, he can simply look at a block explorer to look for the receiving address.
But as mentioned above a simple GET-request is also enough to extract the address. This is because BIP70 is just a protocol ontop of the application layer. Transactions are still being sent 'to addresses'.

No I mean, if people know I can use Bitpay, then they also know I am using a wallet that is compatible with BIP70 payment requests. As I refer above responses, I did not know some wallets could not support Bitpay. I know it is not a big problem, but now I am reading it up, it appears only 2 wallets are capable of receiving bitpay invoices, and yes, I'm using one of them. So now I know Bitpay knows I am a user of one of such wallets Smiley

I dislike already cookies that even tell websites what computer and OS I am using. So this upsets me a little bit. I had no idea Bitpay was like this.

Hey guys, just scrolling through all the things on the website. Bored, I guess? Not sure if someone already brought it up but the ToS pdf is not loading on the website. Tried force refresh but it just shows me a funny icon and nothing else. Not an error, just doesn't display anything except the icon: https://www.bitdice.me/tos.pdf

Everything else seems to work fine.

Oh and If you guys are still talking to companies about sportsbetting (as in last quarter update) take your time and remember we want best odds over anything else! Anyone else agree?
9765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Gas Fee Super High Now! on: August 09, 2018, 10:29:59 AM
It is ordinary to have a time of high gas charges, particularly when their a major ICO up and coming in which Gas Competition will happen keeping in mind the end goal to buy the token quick against other. Simply hold up as it will kill not long after that occasion

Nah, major ICOs no longer have that effect on the network. Or should I say, there are no more major ICOs that sell out in 5 seconds or whatever. If you check the last month since OP posted, there are 2 major things stressing Ethereum. The first is all those dapps as usual, gaming as usual when they hype is still fresh, especially the new fomo games (exitscam games). The second is those new exchanges with so called pay to vote systems. All kinds of different schemes now to attract new traders and spend money to get their useless ERC20 tokens listed. And everyone's rushing, so the miners are the happiest.
9766  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problem with localbitcoins.com on: August 09, 2018, 09:26:13 AM
Though they denied your documents/IDs, it's really unlikely for them to do shady stuff with your information; though I'm not saying it's impossible. I don't think there's anything you can do about it now as you've already submitted them.

Documents are not need for the localbitcoins dude. They actually asking document verification for to open a trade with the concern trader. I see the traders recent days asking to verify passport, phone number and etc to manage the account.

Please get more trust from the users on LBC and then you will be trustable person in LBC. Check trustworthy and then deal with the traders.

Yes they are. This is LBC themselves doing it, when they suspect they might be vulnerable to abuse or something like that. Other traders, if they want to verify, they do it directly with you, or they specify only verified traders can contact and trade with them. LBC will never ever do a verification for someone else.

OP: Write to them to try again, this time providing CLEAR photographs. Make sure your lighting is very good, the camera lens is clean (no smudges) and if possible switch to a separate, mini webcam or HD camera to take those images. I have failed verification before and it is always because the images are not clear. They need to be able to read the details on your ID.
9767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto is about to dead - Get out from it before its too late on: August 09, 2018, 08:36:33 AM
You and thousands of other people repeatedly do this and say, every few years. Dig through the forums and find such posts, of people who reportedly got into Bitcoin with such ideals and then left in anger and disappointment, supposedly because Bitcoin lost its way or is becoming centralized or has a wrong vision. So strange to hear it coming from new accounts that anyway entered at such a high point when Bitcoin has had whales and institutional players and big centralized miners for many years.

You guys would be singing a different tune if the bull came back early.
9768  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin/Crypto Publisher-sites in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea on: August 09, 2018, 06:58:59 AM
I suggest you to just look online for crypto influencers in Japan and China, my clue: use Wechat and Webo, and try to translate the content. You will see they have a lot of social media they use only in those languages. But you will have to translate your own advertising to their language, otherwise your ads won't display for them anyway.

Another way is to use their forums. They have something like bitcointalk in China, and crazy amount of ICOs there;)
9769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: PopCoin- The World's First Proof of Play Cryptocurrency - 2 ETH FREE! on: August 09, 2018, 06:39:15 AM
First, just want to confirm we are launching today. We needed to make some last minute adjustments so we pushed back launch by a day. It will now be launching at 2am UTC.

OK, this is another one of those ETH smart contract gamble games like those ExitScam and Fomo games getting popular now, right? I will admit, this one looks LESS complicated, and MORE easy to see and to win, but the problem is to attract the first few players.

You said you put in 2 ETH but I see there is 0 in the pool right now, meaning not a single player has played, meaning no one will risk until those ETH start building up.

Correct, it is similar to some of those games however also pretty different. The biggest difference is how we integrated our own mining algorithm into the game. The House takes a 3% rake of every bet made and puts it into a side pool just as a casino would in real life. This is how they make money and this is how The House in our contract makes money. However, unlike other games where the house is just the developers we instead wanted to make it so that The House were the people who added the most value to the game (ie the players) hence PoP - Proof of Play.
When you place a bet you mine PoPCoins which can be exchanged for that 3% rake the house takes. So by playing PoPCoin you are not only playing a game similar to the games you mentioned earlier but you are also becoming The House and are earning a portion of that 3% for every bet going forward. The game is not pre-mined and there is no way for the developers to change anything or remove money once it's launched.

PoPCoin is also different in that it is a framework of games all of them paying eth into The House that PoPCoins make you a part of. PoPCoin is essentially a decentralized casino with unique fun games and where the players own the earnings of the casino.

You did see 0 in the pool when you last checked because we had to make some last minute changes to the contract. It is true with no money in the contract there is no reason for players to play. That is why we are seeding the contract with 2 Eth which you will see later today. Smiley

If you want more information on how PoPCoin works you can checkout our videos or our pitch deck with outlines the economics of it: http://popcoin.gg/images/popcoinPitch.pdf

Thanks for the responses. It looks like you still had problems launching, I guess the announcement was premature. Idea is actually very good now that you have explained it because:

1. Mining by betting and proof of play is just like a casino rewarding the most active players or the ones who wager the most. I really like this concept.
2. 3% rake might be too high. Lower it to 1% for a start, maybe max 2% once established. No point being greedy, right?

Now your idea is excellent but you really need to get your smart contract looked at AND maybe touch up your design.
9770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitpay URIs to traditional BTC addresses on: August 09, 2018, 05:12:57 AM
Just a question, sorry if this isn't related to the OP, but I use Bitpay not by choice and wondered a few times about why people would want to extract the BTC address to pay to.

First, is it more advantageous to do that direct payment instead of paying straight to the Bitpay invoice? Second, can Bitpay invoice still detect the payment if you make a direct payment to the address derived? Last, why would Bitpay ever do that? After you pay you can already see the address anyway. I don't understand this.

If the wallet you're using doesn't support that, you wouldn't be able to make the payment so you'll need a decoder like the ones posted above. I'm using this method and the invoice gets paid just fine.

Regarding BIP70: https://blog.bitcoin.org.hk/bitpay-is-using-the-payment-protocol-to-take-your-privacy-8093bf91eda7

Thank you for this information, had no idea some wallets don't support it. As I said, I use Bitpay sometimes, I don't like it and remember the first time I used it I thought it was strange that you only saw an invoice instead of the address. It isn't the worst thing I guess and it's sort of helpful to see the invoice in your history, but I name all my address spends anyway.

Does that mean if you can use Bitpay without extracting the address, people can guess what your wallet is? I see now Bitpay has been collecting my IP. So sad about all these socalled Bitcoin adopters. Good luck BP, I share it with 100s if not 1000s of people.

You know you've almost seen it all when a Senior Member comes in whining after experiencing only 7 months of downturn. Then again, I've already seen Legendaries feel like it's all over and sad, and time to get out.

Time to check your pulse and recall the reason you came into this world. Was it to make money? Then you should have realized the risk, and considered investment like all investments, that no guarantees exist ever in investment.

Was it to try something new and experience the promise of self-controlled money? Then good, the market doesn't matter.
9773  Economy / Gambling / Re: GambleScan - fair gambling games using smart contracts on: August 08, 2018, 05:42:37 AM
Site was working for me. I actually saw this yesterday but never bothered to open it. I never realizes that there were dice sites using smart contracts on Ethereum. I don't know how to judge code, but the idea seems incredibly useful to me. Provided the smart contract is solid and secure, what better way to gamble, trusting a smart contract rather than a casino? Casino's benefits all stripped away though. Interaction, lower edges, bigger bankrolls.

Anyway, nice to see some of the sites there. I guess Fomo is getting really popular.
9774  Economy / Gambling / Re: Overview of Active Casino/Dice Sites Accepting BTC on: August 08, 2018, 05:09:10 AM
You can add nitrogensports, they have dice, poker and slots on their site and accepting bitcoin too.

Oh yes, definitely should add this. I don't know if OP wants to also add if they have a sportsbook option, since this is what Nitrogensports does, and soon I am hearing some other casinos will be considering too. I notice more and more casinos tend to offer everything together, especially those whitelabel ones: casinos, sportsbook, slots. Or maybe best to just focus on casinos, cause that's what most of us are looking for.
9775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's English Premier League Football Pool £25 to join Prize Pot @ £725 on: August 07, 2018, 01:52:51 PM
I came 3rd in our PL pool last season (StephenCurry 1st & hilarious 2nd).
I came 2nd in our WC pool (Trofo was 1st, can’t remember who was 3rd).

I’m going to try my damn best to win this one but I guess there’s a chance I won’t even be top 5 this time. You can’t get lucky in every pool you enter.

I was number 2 for a day or two in the WC pool and ended up being 3rd, so yeah that was me, right behind you Wink

I have no experience at all actually playing in pools, or even anything like this, since most of my friends don't even bet, or even watch football, so yes, very much looking forward to this one. It is nice to know the pot got bigger thanks to Cloudbet, and they also have a competition going on for August it seems. So I should say this forum has made my gambling life so much more interactive.
9776  Economy / Gambling / Re: Overview of Active Casino/Dice Sites Accepting BTC on: August 07, 2018, 09:18:54 AM
Yeah, I'm with you guys on freebitco. Yes, they started out as a faucet site, but they have dice + lottery, which you have to gamble at if you want to open up maximum access to faucet amounts too. They may not be a casino but if you can gamble there, it's provably fair, and it's been paying out for years, doesn't matter about house edge, it qualifies.

On this point, I would also suggest to add BitDice. Full disclosure, I also promote them as you can see, but it is one of the oldest dice sites around (since 2014 at least) you can check from the history post of the owner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=238641;sa=showPosts;start=40
9777  Economy / Gambling / Re: Overview of Active Casino/Dice Sites Accepting BTC on: August 07, 2018, 06:48:13 AM
Nice compilation so far, and I can see some of my favorite casinos already listed, so nice to see that in fact so many names are established since many years already but are still going strong. That's good news for Bitcoin casinos, good news for Bitcoin.

For me, the most important thing to add because this is, after all, crypto gambling, is if the casino is Provably Fair. And I don't mean like casinos who publish provably fair but only tell you they have RNG certificates. I mean casinos that let YOU verify your own bets, using hash formula and all that. This is the whole thing that crypto casinos brought.
9778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple, Tron, Cardano: overhype and uselessness define these 3 cryptocurrencies on: August 06, 2018, 01:12:08 PM
DAG coins ( IOTA and NANO). I remember that vitalik has created a funny comment about that people are overhyping to consider DAG coins as blockchain 3.0 but in fact it doesn't even use the blockchain system and use the centralized server to validating the transaction.
EOS should be included on that list too.

I use one DAG coin, which is Byteball/Gigabyte. For me, I don't classify DAG coins like Byteball or NANO/mrai the same as IOTA because the earlier 2 never used ICOs to launch (Byteball was purely airdropped I'm not sure NANO how they happened but they were not sold).

So not sure we can call them vapourware because they were launched just as Bitcoin was, with an idea and trying to build something out of it as a currency and payment (Gbyte has good merchants, NANO is distributed and recently held Venezuelans buy food).

Byteball was also not overhyped. Usefulness already explained.

I definitely think IOTA classifies though, and yes, I don't think these should claim DAG is blockchain 3.0 either, as they're not blockchain.
9779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC Miners India Import Discussion on: August 06, 2018, 11:34:56 AM
There had been lots of hassles in the Indian customs regarding this ASIC miners import from China. Its been a while, but how is the condition right now? Is it easy to import now? talked to FEDEX they said nothing about problems, just acknowledged that they could do it with ease. If someone have done it recently, please share your experience. Let the community hear about it.

Fedex will never tell you things like that. They don't need to. If Customs charges anything, they will just levy the taxes to you. Customs handling is easy for them.

My advice: ask your own customs. Give them details of specifications of what you are importing. Also, check with the exporter, if they have shipped to India before they can tell you what to expect. But if it was difficult before I doubt it is easier now. You tried to consider shipping individual parts and set yourself up?

Perhaps better for you to ask the advice of miners in the Mining section, not here.
9780  Economy / Services / Re: Discounts on Hardware Wallets - Save $8 per every Ledger Nano S. on: August 06, 2018, 09:13:13 AM
Looks legitimate to me, I don't know why people don't take you up on this offer Wink I don't use hardware wallets yet, because I don't own much and it's in a wallet I want to access every day. I feel like a hardware wallet is for cold storage, to plug it in as rarely as possible. It would be nice to own a couple of thousand dollars in Bitcoin though!

You should update your post. Like tell people how many ordered through you.
