I did the A14 and scythe "kraze" with an underclocked s7 last winter fairly quiet. Looking at spec again two A14's should provide more CFM's and lower db's. Will need adapters though.

Ramping up just fine with new address on the new firmware.

Well I backed up and started new firmware. Figured I'd try and swap addresses. Just on my s9 13.5 auto not my S9i (no firmware for that one yet).

Thanks -ck.

Anyone with s9's update to the new firmware? Other pools are having compatibility issues it seems.

Is it better to change payout address now or when pool get large again?

I didn't know it was analogy time, but philipma with a tko?

Essentially try and consider every variable imaginable, then brace yourself for everything you missed or overlooked. Project very conservatively and don't over promise. Seems familar.
987  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Opinions on my mining plan? on: October 21, 2018, 09:26:44 PM
If you're mining for hobby just enjoy it. Based on the thread though if you haven't developed a business plan I would continue the research on operations and then develop it 5-10 years out to start.

Expansion can encompass on a few areas but looking at relevance to cc's post; Mining is an arms race of sorts. If you have power that is really cheap you'll be looking at adding hardware mostly, with less focus on efficiencies but adding, as increasing hash is a must to retain projected revenues to most models. There are other models to consider but importantly you don't want to chase diff but pace it at minimum in most operations.

I'm sure there are some good dyi setups.

Also stick to rigid media for less maintenance. Look domestic for everything you can, sticker price might be better on an import but if it falls under the retaliatory tariffs you might end up paying more.

Indirect evaporative cooling will have reduced humidity compared to direct. Depending on the amount of moisture though you may be fine as these run hot and some humidity is ok (to a point) as it will dissipate.

Can use sun shade on intake side to help some if your "box" farming. Otherwise as long as the exhaust is removed well and away from the miners you should be fine.

Ive had intake up to 40C and miners were fine. Just could max out you psu's as they'll draw more power.
991  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggested Bitcoin Core Pruned Node Size on: October 21, 2018, 05:23:52 PM
I installed everything on the card, application and all. Would just be more portability, something smaller than the tablet. Then I've never used a windows phone. Still researching to see what is out there and how they work.

In all pretty happy with the node on the tablet so far. Just cant browse the web as quickly when it starts to sync in the am after being off line.
992  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggested Bitcoin Core Pruned Node Size on: October 20, 2018, 03:51:56 PM
The disc is practically idle now when minimized to taskbar on the winX tablet i'm using. Transactions in and out working fine, I suppose if you have a wallet that connects to a node already it maybe redundant.

Since my goal was to have a full node w/incoming traffic my shortsightedness let me down but still may suffer another ul period to at least sync the full chain.

I don't have a windows phone but wonder if I can swap the card out between devices? Maybe give it try after some research, or experience of others replying.

Sounds like a good good plan. Get your licencing and business plan together and negotiate. $0.06 for power is good but don't forget about fees and taxes. I have "$0.06" at home but with fees/taxes it's more like $0.11.
994  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ship a large order of miners without an address on: October 19, 2018, 11:12:58 PM
Could always rent storage or space shipments out for a residential delivery if you're worried about logistics like forklifts or added charges for freight delivery. Can contact us via website if you like.

Dope.  Cool
996  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: October 19, 2018, 08:29:57 PM
There is still stock of 921,  at least that what we were told earlier this week. Looks like Canaan is finally cleaning up their web shop a little. Still no PSU from them for the A921.
997  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Moving ASIC's from the US to Mexico? on: October 19, 2018, 08:28:18 PM
No issue unless Mexico has any laws or regulation on imports. Might be liable for duties into Mexico which could make moving operations expensive. Could be better to sell off assets in the US and reacquire in the new country/location. Still depends on a number of factors.
998  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: October 19, 2018, 08:23:10 PM
if the 921 is priced at $742/unit this shouldn't breach the 1k mark at all. Canaan is smarter than that.
999  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: October 18, 2018, 03:10:37 PM
Yeah I really should have seen that coming. Had to cash out some coin to cover bills, which historically only ever happens right after a tank. Invoices due to me are always paid right before a tank.

Seems to be pretty stable market wise lately. Hopefully you did ok?

I imagine that part of the business is pretty nerve racking pending market for us and you.

What I wonder is if we get a market spike or bull run, how much difficulty will increase.
