981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMS, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Pearl, Recent Mandatory Update on: December 29, 2014, 06:26:42 PM
Hi guys,

New to alt-coins here.

May I ask a few things?

How can one mine for CLAMS?

You supposedly can Stake / mint new coins from the client.

But recently, I have been getting "generated but not accepted" ..
due to I think too much competition / difficulty to stake.

So if you have a small amount,  you might not be able to stake.

I currently have no amount   Sad

I guess it will be extremely hard for me to stake then  Sad

You could always just buy some on Poloniex exchange,  or sit in just-dice.com chat room and catch some rain.

I should also re-phrase..  you could stake with a small amount but may take a long time & if it actually is accepted.

My last 7 stakes were "generated but not accepted" - shown in the transactions section,  you have to look there for it doesn't show on the main screen.

That sounds like your clock is wrong.

Can you check it against an accurate source and confirm that it's off by more than a few seconds?

Also, can you provide the block hashes and timestamps? I'll check the JD logs to see if we saw the blocks, and if so why we rejected them.

Thanks, I'll try to check my clock too!

Edit:

Should clock be ok now?

Seems staking this coin has become too difficult / not viable.

Are any solutions to this in the works?

This seems a bit odd. I checked back 100 stakes and there has not been a single orphan. Doesn't sound right if you've had 7 in a row.

Now that I look more closely, none of the 368 transactions in my list - the majority being stakes - are showing as an orphan, or 0 confirmations. I wonder if I'm just lucky, or whether the text-only daemon is suppressing them for some reason.

Well, they were not really right in a row.. but close.  I will try to post a screenshot soon

Edit: screenshot..

The greyed-out ones are them...  there were a couple more down the list further too.

"stakeweight" : {
"minimum" : 1329137,
"maximum" : 0,
"combined" : 1329137
},

Its that..  which for me,  is about the same what green arrow says the weight is (for my own staking)

my staking has slowed alot.might see price rise slowly now Cheesy
i am currently using 6 to 7 k blocks.going to make 10 k blocks i think once they stake

That is something I don't understand,  if all of our staking is slowing down..
how is it that we still will be getting 750% ?

Somehow the math doesn't seem right,  difficulty seems to have not been factored in?

Actually it has. I think the wiki addresses this, and we've discussed it in depth, height and breadth here and in IRC Cheesy The conclusion is that the inflation control works, but we ain't sure how it's gonna roll in the future. The max subsidy makes it so that eventually, you'll either be waiting a long time to stake smaller blocks or sacrifice some of the gained interest for speed.

That's the short form. The long form is still being discussed/debated/derided...

Well numbers don't lie, and there are only so many days in a year.
So I guess we'll see...

The coins I moved have already started gaining stake weight. I'll let you guys know when they start staking

How do you tell for sure that they are gaining stake weight?
You told us not to trust the arrow.
Is there some command to type in debug?

I staked some on the 24th... and now my coins have been saying est. 25 minutes to stake since then, but no stake.

Do I move my coins or not??

So just to be clear, you've no idea what your code is doing?

Is your 'mistake' in this commit? https://github.com/iGotSpots/BALLS/commit/c5d7eec9d4d7854e48fac1c1aef6fcd724a6070e

So in theory you have a coin with no coin control but a maturity time of 30 days? really?

I can only hope you are actually watching your block times.

This is why it takes balls to own balls !   Wink

Compiled Version 1.0.7.3 from git on Ubuntu trusty

When unlocking for staking,  the minting notification icon / animation shows up at the bottom but then disappears.

When I hover in the space where its supposed to be, it still tells me that its minting, shows my current weight etc..

So, I'm assuming it still is staking.. but the icon just disappears?

Also fyi, I didn't see this problem in 1.0.7.2

This is most likely due to the animated icons, which I don't believe are correctly ported over to QT 5+ yet.

Thanks,  I figured it must be something like that
Everything else seems to be working fine

Something is VERY wrong. As a holder of over 400,000 balls, I get multiple payments in a day. Suddenly my weight goes to the floor, and for the first time , Ive gone a full 24 hours and NOTHING. Please look into this. Ive been in balls since the start and never seen this happen.

I just showed part of December 24th to show what a normal day, everyday looks like, and its loaded with payments. As soon as Christmas day hits, its stops dead!

Vegas

Yep, same here .. something seems very wrong.   The difficulty chart is dropped wayyy down too.

997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are CLAMS? I have no idea! on: December 25, 2014, 07:09:11 PM
Again, its safe to claim them if you transfer any funds out of your wallet / addresses first.

Create a new wallet, transfer amounts from old to new wallet.

Then just use keep using the new wallet and import the old, empty wallet into clams .. no risk involved.

Looks interesting, but it's a tad concerning IMHO that a single centralized entity has control of the vast majority of coins (and hence stake).

What's the difference between this and pretty much all the other pre-mined shitcoins?

It wasn't pre-mined, it was distributed to all those who had btc, ltc & doge in addresses at the time period specified.

And jd doesn't really have control over the vast majority.

They are staking with the investor's funds - which is a large amount,  but not owned by jd.

Please stick to facts.

All unclaimed coins are gonna be / have been dumped hard

If they are unclaimed how are they going to be dumped?

They may never be claimed.  I have many old addresses that I've lost.
