981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: September 26, 2023, 08:35:41 AM
~snip~
Often new gamblers get fooled by these bonuses and I see it was a working strategy from these scammers. Because what is in the mind of the gamblers is that they could make use of it in gambling. Well, indeed they can but the exchange is much regretting. We can say that deep research is more important than these attractive bonuses because legit casino sites never use this strategy to attract gamblers but instead, they use their reputation and legitimacy to gain attraction and trust.
It's frustrating when rookie players fall into this trap. These "too good to be true" freebies are honey traps from untrustworthy platforms. Healthy gambling involves starting in the appropriate position as well as playing the numbers. You must remember that reputable casinos value reputation over rapid cash. Their aim? Providing clean environment for fans. Wake up, beginners! You shouldn't risk your money for extra chips or spins. Do your study and choose sites that prioritize their image over questionable marketing. If anything sounds too good to be true, it probably is

Exactly. There is also ongoing bonuses on the reputable casinos every week and month and sometimes in special occasions during different periods of the year. You just have to be active there and you will increase your ranks and benefit from all these bonuses which are from well established casinos that means you will not risk a single penny as you know that they have been paying these bonuses for years. Why risk it for some momentary pleasure which will then turn in a real sad moment when you will see that the too good to be true thing will come out a scam,no gain in such behavior.
Most of those newbies that falls victim of these new scam casinos are  the ones who priotize bonuses and other freebies over reputation in gambling. The first sign of a good gambler is in his interest to the kind of casinos he uses for his gambling, he creates a standard and keeps to it and for any casino that doesn't meet his standard it's a NO NO ❌  thing for him as a gambler. No doubt bonuses are cool and rights of a gambler from the casinos they gambling with but not all bonuses are to be chased after, because some can lead to your financial loss regrettably.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 26, 2023, 07:49:57 AM

Yes, stopping is not easy, especially if you are addicted. Still, we are responsible for ourselves, so if we are addicted, we should start introspecting and looking for a cause to heal ourselves. However, most gambling addicts will find it difficult to recognize that they are addicted to gambling because all they have is the desire to continue gambling. But when awareness from within says that we are addicted to gambling and this must be stopped, we really need help from other people to stop gambling.

Yes, most people don't want to admit that they are addicted to gambling, maybe they feel embarrassed so they don't want to admit it. However, if his gambling addiction is allowed to continue, he will spend more money and leave a lot of debt. The best option is to try to stop before all the money is gone and you go bankrupt.

If a gambling addict cannot overcome his addiction on his own then it is better to ask someone else or a professional for help. It's not good to be an addict although I'm not against gambling, but anything in excess definitely has a bad impact

True, if it's really hard for someone who already addicted but he already admitted the addiction inside him, asking for help from your love ones  to assist you to work your problem with professional to know what's the best practices and remedies to lessen  or to completely move away from gambling can be a good resort, with the guidance of professional, it will be possible to trace the root cause and eliminate it inside your mind. A big help to realize  and quit away from your gambling addiction.
Often even the scenario is as follows: an addicted gambler begins to steal money or sell things from home, his relatives give him to doctors or psychologists, the gambler pretends that he has taken the path of correction, doctors or psychologists see that he is lying, the gambler truly admits the problem and is cured.
I think there are exceptions when the player himself notices his addiction and goes for treatment, but this happens very rarely.
I find a similarity between gambling addicts and drug addicts where both people when they are addicted try to say that they are not addicted but they do the same thing afterwards. For example, someone sells various household items while managing gambling money. Although they present themselves well to others, it is not difficult to understand that something else is going on behind the scenes. I agree with you that people who are recognize their addiction can eventually recover from their addiction. Although that may be difficult for many but not impossible.
What you just explained is what I term self-deceit, there is nothing more dangerous than this when someone is fighting psychological issues. If you are deceiving yourself and finding excuses for ignoble acts and seeing things as though they are normal while they are obviously not normal, then you are still not ready for a change. It's better that friends or family get help for such people because they will not be able to fight within themselves unless they first recognise that they are not doing well. Those people in this category have lost their minds and consciousness, these are what could have been preserving their mindsets into doing the right thing. This is why we should not lose it in anything we do, the more we are cautious and conscious in gambling, the better control we have in what we do and preserves our minds as well.
It's easier to render support and help to an addicted gambler or drug addict when in the first instance they have accepted and acknowledge their addiction. For admittance is the first step to finding solutions because you can bother to bring solution to a problem you don't believe exist in your life. That's why some of the gambling addicts that family members and friends tried to help escape from their addiction ended up no being able to be saved reason being that even the individual you want to save from addiction doesn't believe he's suffering from addiction. So for people like that it's very hard and they are the worst to give advise against their addictiveness either to gambling or drug, they will always attack you immediately with counter words all of the times.

Such persons never survive long here, so never be like them.  I wish you all the best as we all keep learning from each other.  Here's a thread that discuss about forum tips for newbies: Newbies - Read before posting by Lauda.
986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter the pressure don't release on: September 25, 2023, 11:57:40 AM
I am not sure about other exchanges, but Binance P2P always reminds you not to release funds unless you get confirmation from your bank. So this is a very important part when you are trading p2p. Faking payment proof is pretty simple; anyone can edit it. Usually I don't trust them, and very rarely have I been trading without verified merchants. I never release funds unless I get confirmation from the bank. It doesn't matter how hurryy the buyer is. A lot of scammers take advantage of fake proof. But we need to learn how to avoid such a situation.
Sometimes what causes the delay in receiving confirmation alert from our bank is the means we use to receive our credit/debit alerts. If you're getting your alert through a SMS from the bank you'll usually experience much delays compared to someone that using the bank mobile app. It's faster receiving alert with mobile app than through SMS.

Also, it's risky confirming your alert only through bank SMS alert, because it's easy for scammers in p2p trading to use the means to scam . They can edit it all and screenshot send it to you claiming a receipt on their own end from the transfer they sent you. Always p2p traders should always ask for bank mobile app receipt in such scenario, and also hold your ground on receiving alert  through a mobile app.
Stick to trading p2p with traders that have trading reputation of 90% upwards in an exchanger.  Just as a way to avoid funny craps.
987  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Life lesson]Nothing is really free on: September 25, 2023, 10:39:56 AM
It took me quite a long time to understand that nothing is really free, to the least you will be giving away your time. If you don't find whatever you do worthy of your time, don't do it.
Then you must have wasted many good valuable years of your time on things that really didn't matter eventually and I am hoping it's never too late for people like you. The lessons learnt from shoveling your time to things not worthy is what you should rather appreciate and grow from your rediscover that it has all been a waste and  since it didn't take your life with it but just your time even though time is priceless you can still make better use of the little time left.

Quote
Ppc, faucets and such are waste of time to earn money. If you put the same amount of time in learning some valuable skill you will earn better.
Learning some value skill to earn better takes much time but some dudes ain't ready for that "shit" (gradual process), they want it all and now which is not how life works. Good things don't come easy, you must put in neat  work.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 24, 2023, 08:12:28 PM
Gambling in the room away from our children sounds very good, but if your child tries to come into the room, isn't it better to turn off your PC or close your gambling session?
I think it's much better than you saying it's not good for children because you yourself said that children always imitate adults whether it's good or bad so as much as possible don't show your gambling games or gamble in the room after the child is sleeping or waiting for the child. we are outside the house.
I think parents choose not to gamble in front of their children so that their children don't know about our gambling activities, because if they see us doing this there is a possibility that they will ask to play and we all know this is not very good for us. them, because we are adults, it is still very difficult to control ourselves in carrying out gambling activities, especially for those who don't understand what they are doing, children only think it is a game, maybe because with the cute pictures, the children will certainly like it. really agree with you that if we choose to gamble at home then it would be better for us to do it when the children are not with us.
As parents our children sees us as their number one heros and they believe strongly that anything we doing or say is what should be good for them that's why it's easy for them to imitate anything we do, and will also want to engage into anything they see us engaging in like the gambling we are discussing now. For the children seeing their parents gambling the message that rings in their head is that whereas dad or mum is playing it then it must be something really good also for me. Without knowing the implications they already accepted it's good for them because they see their parents doing it, that's why we should at all times avoid gambling in the presence of our children.

As a parents don't be deceived in thinking that they are kids they know nothing, no no no, they do know a little and that stage they are is the stage of learning and imbibing anything they see people around them doing. So be it gambling or any other activities that's not right for children to learn as parents we should keep off from their sight when doing so and this include smoking too.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 24, 2023, 03:59:38 PM
The worst game so far out of all ongoing games is that of  Chelsea vs. Aston Villa game, This game seems to be the worst Chelsea performance this season and nothing is working with the pattern of playing and formation, they've missed all the opportunities to score, I'm beginning to think that Pochettino isn't the right man for this job, imagine Chelsea played draw in their previous match and coming in this to likely lose at home.
I mean we already see that they're struggling. Give it a couple more defeats or something like a really bad beating from smaller teams and Pochettino will be kicked out most likely. It's understandable that it will take time before this new Chelsea team will blend but they cannot afford to be dropping points against the likes of Bournemouth or Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea is not a scary team anymore. They are a big team and they have a good squad but strangely they play like a bottom-dweller team. Their performance was terrible, though they were playing in their own home. I think Aston Villa really deserved the win because their performance was better than Chelsea.

The league still has a long way to go, but if we look at their performance so far, I think this season will be another nightmare for Chelsea.
Chelsea team have been playing without a winning mentality, no proper communication, very slow and predictable.  The club is still suffering from the owners mistake of selling out all the experience players while expecting the new players will mix in at once. It will definitely take a lot of time for this Chelsea team to begin having goals as a result of the team's total reconstruct. So far this season, 3 defeats 2 draws and a 1 win very poor stat.
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I learned something new from Bitcoin today on: September 24, 2023, 05:14:59 AM
I learned something new today. I started bitcoin trading with 100 $ I made 10$ from here and I lost 11$ gambling with 100$ now I don't call gambling bad because I don't understand and I don't have patience to play the game and past I easily from bitcoin made 10$ profit now which one should i choose you say i know a man need bitcoins in future but still a man can be addicted to gambling and to all of you i want to say none of you should be addicted to anything and not to gambling and you are more Trade Bitcoin and see your future shine.
.
Gambling is nothing close to bitcoin trading the two worlds are absolutely of different dimension and can't be compared when it come to what anyone stands to gain in delving into both. If not for anything par-say Trading is a skill but gambling is never regarded as a skill even though they both involve risk taking.

I'll advise you to pick bitcoin trading far above gambling in every case. Addiction is to something generally discouraged but if am to be addicted to anything between gambling and trading, with both arms I'll embrace trading and damn the consequences.
991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you could..... What will it be? on: September 24, 2023, 04:49:47 AM

I’m new in the crypto industry and the only major negative event I have experienced in this space is the exit of FTX. Even though I wasn’t affected directly, the crash still had an effect on my bitcoin investment as the price dumped during that time period. It’s crazy because I remember attending a FTX sponsored event during my newbie days, lucky for me I didn’t subscribe to storing my coins in exchanges. The only regret I have is not buying bitcoin early.
Unlike many colleagues I knew who fell victim to the FTX crash I can still imagine the emotional trauma some of them had to go through within that period particularly those that had to take loan to invest in it hoping to make profit and return the loan in due time but unfortunately for them the shipwreck occured taking their money down with it.

In same vein you attended you attended a FTX sponsored class that was how they got to know about FTX and decided to invest without doing much research own their own but fortunately for you you didn't invest and therefore lost nothing to the crash event.

You need not continually to regret about buying bitcoin early, to me I believe each person has a right time for them in buying their first bitcoin and same applies in your case, what really matters now is how you're making a good use of the opportunity now to your profit based on the knowledge you've gotten about bitcoin.

If I could delete an occurrence from happening in the cryptocurrency world then I would delete or stop the Mt Gox hack. In the hacking history of the cryptocurrency world Gt Gix hack is on the top. It leaves a bad footprint on the cryptocurrency world. The Gox hack was the largest hack in the history of the crypto world as the Gox was the bigger exchange at that time and the hacker stole 850000 bitcoins from it. This hacking has a significant impact on cryptocurrency and people look at Bitcoin as a scam and lose belief in it. If that hacking had not happened at that time then maybe the Bitcoin price will change today and may have a higher price today. Due to hacking the price of Bitcoin was down in 2014 and if it had not occurred then maybe Bitcoin would have now widely accepted but unfortunately, it has not happened.

This is not the only hacking that push Bitcoin down and become notorious but also there are some more that also contribute to this shit which was The Luna crash, the Celcius network bankruptcy, the three arrows capital bankruptcy, and the FTX crash. These events also imprint the bad impacts due to which people become fearful and maintain a distance from bitcoins.
Wow! To me this topic is really getting interesting more than I thought as with each comment's I have got to read and know many more events that had happened in the cryoto-world that I never had an idea about before now and this is part of learn even though this events really brought miserable losses  to it's victims which also from which many people have learned from them all to be very cautious and selective on what they invest on.
992  Other / Beginners & Help / If you could..... What will it be? on: September 23, 2023, 07:04:03 PM
A lot of crazy experiences has taken place in the crypto space knocking people down financially and it is plausible that nasty things can still occur in the future. But...

What if you could delete an occurrence from happening in the cryoto-world, both past and current events making it that they don't happen or didn't happened. What would it be?

As  for me it is the FTX crash saga which led to many persons losing their funds that could have yield some profits by now. It was one of the saddest period for many in the crypto world.

How about you, what would it be?

993  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are some trust feed backs not having reference on: September 23, 2023, 06:26:47 PM
Trust link gives validity to trust feedbacks it's a forensic that can other people can easily identify with as to your reasons for giving an account a trust feedback. But just as the first comment of @_act_ stated above, there are circumstance that may take place between persons that can't be linked with particularly a one on one business deal outside the corridors of the forum. And such trust  feedbacks at times can be questionable as there's no evidence to prove your reasons for the trust feedback be it a negative or positive one.

Talking of abuse, oh yes, abuse is likely to happen with trust feedbacks but I don't think that's always the case as most feedbacks are legit and deserving. Mind you I said most not all.
994  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC matter? on: September 23, 2023, 04:01:50 PM

I don't know why many people frown at KYC verification but I think sometimes, it may be as a result of previous experience that is making people to be more conscious about dropping there data on exchange except the exchange has user data protection which will enable individual data to be well kept in a portfolio where no one has access to it even though the exchange get hacked.
That's because kyc encourages identity theft in many ways.

You're exposed to a third-party attack should such an exchange or company get hacked as your data/details can be stolen in that event and be used for impersonation and other criminal activities to your person. Etc.

You'll need to go through this thread to get the whole idea of why many people frown at KYC. Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless

.

But protecting personal data today I think is no longer effective when we are also using social networks, online payment applications...most of which require KYC to be able to use.
Obviously it's difficult nowadays to effective or completely avoid kyc with what you have said I agree on that but at least in the areas you can avoid based on available alternative options that gives same pleasure or satisfaction it is important you do avoid it with your full chest.  helping in reducing a common spread of your data in so many kyc required platforms increasing your risk of exposure.

The government of Nigeria thru the midstream and downstream petroleum regulatory authority don tok say them go penalize pipol wey get fuel station wey them adjust the fuel pumps.

Source:https://punchng.com/fuel-stations-altering-pump-to-face-sanction-fg/
As e be, no be news say all the fuel stations pump for the country including NNPCL own say the owners them adjust all finish, 1litre of fuel no be 1lotre again. Even as government con increase fuel pump price wey the sell now from around #650-#700 per litre  depending the station you attend still them no tink am to readjust back to normal 1litre.

The area I wan now make we rub mind na the area if the government and wetin them tok. Cos we know say this our government many times them the talk but no the do anytin and especially wen na action wey go affect big big men them. Cos plenty of dese fuel stations na governor's, senators, economic tycoons and oda politicians na them get am.

So me I dey doubt say this matter go get head, e go just be like case of a barking dog wey no get teeth to bite.  Or abi na me just dey underrate the government on wetin dem go fit do?

How una tink am too nah!

1000  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investing with Bitcoin will be the most profitable project of life. on: September 22, 2023, 04:46:55 AM
I do not think that BTC price will go up. So investing in BTC, can be popular, but not profitable project.
Look here https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/121815/bitcoins-price-history.asp. Bitcoin price is stable now.

You never can tell about the price of Bitcoin not to go up anymore, because though Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency with high volatility as compared to altcoins, it still has a high tendency to skyrocket higher in a long run, because  that's exactly what people said when the price of Bitcoin was $1000 that it will not go further again, but yet it rose to $10,000, and likewise what people said too until it rose to is current price today at $27,000.
So on that note, if you are looking for a sure asset to invest in for a long term, Bitcoin is the answer for you.
Taking a study of the chronology of the price of bitcoin alone right from 2009 common sense will whisper to you that this is truly an asset to invest for a longer term investment.  In my opinion, on account of you not being a trader trading in bitcoin you can't be profitable in a short while holdin investment and it is those people that ain't patient to hodl their portfolio for the long-run that end up making up the idea the bitcoin isn't a profitable project because they came in with the mentality of a get rich quick project.
