981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a strategy to lose on: October 12, 2023, 02:04:15 AM
Expanding your luck doesn't make sense because it is not something you can control when it's more of a scenario that will eventually come randomly as you gamble. I understand why you don't recommend gambling all over the place, but it shouldn't have much of an impact when the same thing happens at some point in the future. There's no point in overthinking these luck-based games when even using the best strategy isn't always enough for gamblers to win their bets.

My Worlds' bets have been shitting the bed, but I got one back after live betting on Team Whales to win map 3. BDS had the edge in drafts during the second and third maps, while their synergy became nonexistent after the first map.

We have a bunch of tight series today, as the winners of each series will advance to the qualification match. I got Loud+1.5 in the first series and i'm leaning on Team Whales +1.5 for the other series. After the upsets, i'm starting to think the favorites don't deserve the odds they get and are more vulnerable to dropping a map.

~
At first look, Group B is super stacked and it sucks for Thunder Awaken to be placed in a group filled with the best teams.  Shocked

983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 12, 2023, 12:18:46 AM
I somewhat agree with the first half of your advice because taking breaks is one way to reset your session and it can help you consistently avoid making bad decisions if you're one of those emotional gamblers. You lost me at the other half because your luck could continue the way it was after your break and could last for more than a single session.

I tried to try other game, all you need not just push keep playing but tried to taking a break if you get a worst section on some-type game. Like, for the next 2-3 weeks still get the same worst section on (Slot) try to other game maybe (live-games) with BJ/Baccarat or other game.
I used to do this as well, but instead of changing from one game to another, I would switch casinos every week because I thought opening a new account would mean resetting my luck.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sustainable Approach For Your Earnings in Gambling on: October 11, 2023, 06:20:24 PM
You could make your strategy work, but it can still fail more than you expect because it still depends on how well you can hit your bets and manage your stakes. It's good to know when we should cash out our profits at the right moment, but it's not enough if we lack in the other parts of sports betting or gambling overall.

Also, losing streaks and losing sessions could go on for a very long time, so investing elsewhere won't stop the bleeding unless you can consistently win more than you lose.

I'm continuing my bets for Worlds, as the matches will start in a few hours. Time to go chalk mode today because the skill gap between each region is too wide to expect an upset like yesterday's series between GAM and Loud. The closest series would probably be the DFM vs CFO series, but i'd put CFO's skill level similar to PSG given they come from the same region and only lost 3-2 to them in the finals. They might be the second-best team in the group unless Team Whales makes a miracle against BDS.

986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Relying on gamble wins is dangerous to mental health on: October 11, 2023, 02:26:25 AM
It's almost the same thing with a parlay because the stakes go up after every win and in some sportsbooks, you'll sometimes see the amount as there could've been an option to cash out the bet.

In gambling, you can't entirely remove the idea of winning money, but it can be suppressed to a level where you start to care less about it. It's okay to ride a bet until the end as long as it's an insignificant amount but your friend got carried away and only realized the actual amount after he lost the last game.

I switched off the stream right after Love's first interception and haven't watched rest of the game, knew it was over for me. Almost 2 quarters played and you have your main guy with just one target, you don't even look in his direction, c'mon now...I see Love had two more INTs in the second half to ruin your ticket as well, that gotta be annoying.
It looked promising after the first quarter and then Love became a turnover machine like Dak against the 49ers. When the Raiders missed the field goal in the fourth quarter, I got my hopes up for nothing as Love gave the ball away one last time to end the game in the worst way possible.  Tongue

Both our tickets got ruined. I was hoping your bet would at least hit because I saw many bettors are on the Doubs props. And for a second, I thought he was sitting out when he didn't get enough opportunities.

The NBA preseason has already started earlier last week as I remember watching the Dallas Mavericks getting absolutely slaughtered by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Today there is a MOTD special offered for the Los Angeles Lakers up against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Lakers MOTD hit for yesterday's MOTD, but I skipped it as I thought the Lakers were more favored than they should be.

The next MOTD was for the NHL since the regular season kicks off today. The others went for the Pens and that was enough for me to go for their MOTD over the Blackhawks. I have a bit of doubt about the total goals, but it should be doable when both can score 3-4 goals.

989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you not gamble on women sports? (tennis not included) on: October 10, 2023, 03:06:37 PM
My reasoning for avoiding women's sports is the same as betting on tennis it's too unpredictable or competitive than what you'd expect. I remember betting on the Women's Champions League a few months ago, and when it came to the playoffs, you can never trust the big favorites to secure the win most of the time (even with the home advantage). The amount of upsets that happened was too much, i'd better switch to a different sport and go back to the leagues that i'm more familiar with before I lose most of my profits and bankroll.

Is it only me watching the Worlds' group stage? I've placed a few bets in both the SEA teams (GAM and PSG Talon) to take care of business here since I believe there's a decent gap between the opponents they'll be facing.

Then again there's a lot of hype coming on the side of Loud due to their opening odds as an underdog at 3.00+ before shifting down to 1.9-2.0 as we're only a few hours away from the series.

Edit: 1-1 PSG swept while GAM had a disappointing performance.
991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The International 12 [Dota 2, eSport] discussion thread on: October 10, 2023, 01:47:45 AM
I want to root for TL but the odds look deceiving when Team Spirit and Shopify Rebellion could continue to roll over the teams they meet while the previous top teams (GG and TL) are still in recovery mode.

Not really a fan of that prize pool, but it is what it is. Valve inching away from the grandest prize pools in the eSports industry is something you would not expect from them, especially since League is faring better in the tournament format and viewership albeit the lower prize pools as well. Perhaps this will be the first TI that I'm not hyped at all, since I believe that teams will no longer try hard to win given that the same prize pools can be had on future majors.
Maybe they want us to view the scene similarly to League's tournaments since it's gaining success despite the smaller prize pool. I also have the same expectation for this year's TI but I hope the teams prove us wrong and still show some top-tier Dota when every part of the DPC season this year comes down to this main tournament.

The strict rule changes for next season will be interesting, and I wonder how many will break it this time now that it's an instant loss. There's also the looming threat of disqualification if you miss out on one too many rounds.

With season 3 starting next week, I guess it's expected to see a few esports questions appear in the early rounds since two of the biggest tournaments will start around the same week until the end of October.  Grin
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: October 10, 2023, 12:01:55 AM
This is what i'm on today, expect both Josh Jacobs and Romeo Doubs to have solid outputs. Raiders have their oline ranked top 5 in pass block win rate on the season and Jacobs is coming off 8 receptions 81 rec yards game. Doubs has been the guy for Green Bay so far, leading the team in targets, receptions, and yards...I would've added DaVante Adams to my slip as i like the "revenge game" angle but he hasn't practiced all week nursing an injury, which is kinda risky.
That's a solid prop play. Doubs and Jacobs are 3-1 on both the over props and should likely hit for the fourth time. BOL

I'm only going for a small play on the Packers +2.5 because a couple of matches by the Packers came down to a single point. If the Raiders can't stop themselves from turning the ball over, then the Packers might not have problems covering the spread, even if they're coming from behind.

994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do crypto sport books have better odds than "licensed" ones? on: October 09, 2023, 04:52:13 PM
I'd say it's more or less the same because they use the same odds providers (BetRadar, Betby, etc), but a few sportsbooks can still adjust their juice/vig to stand out from the rest of the competition. I agree that other sportsbooks have slightly worse odds because they're more focused on securing profits, but they still utilize those profits to offer promotions. Others aren't fooled with their license, it's just they don't mind losing a bit of payout when it means getting better rewards because sportsbooks with better odds rarely have promotions.
995  Economy / Gambling / Re: My best SPORTSBETTING advices! ⚽️ on: October 09, 2023, 04:37:45 AM
I do sports betting but not that much. The one thing that I have avoided in sports betting is parley despite the winning multiplier is a bit bigger. But the chances of losing are even much more than just regular betting on a certain matchup.

Although I have seen some who can afford a parley in sports betting, but in most cases the amount of money being lost was even much more once there's at least one selected certain matchup where your team lost.
That's one of the best advice worth adding to the OP because those losses coming from parlays will add up, even if they're small losses.

Parlays should be on the fun side of betting since you get to hit better payouts while betting on matches that could start within the same time. Also, avoid adding legs that aren't in the same time frame and this is one of the few mistakes bettors make when making parlays because this forces them to take the juice if they suddenly back out and opt to cash out their bet.

We only have less than an hour left until the Worlds 2023 Qualification match starts between GG and BDS. This is a toss-up match because there are doubts between these two teams. It comes down to whoever shows up during this series so it might be good to observe both teams instead of placing pre-live bets. The only pre-live I like taking for this series is the over 3.5 @1.26 because both teams should be decent enough to win at least a map before getting eliminated.

997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: October 09, 2023, 02:37:27 AM
Big win for the Bears and they were inspired to do it for their fellow fallen solider Dick Butkus who was a well known football player for Chicago.

So this weekend we have another early match in London with Jacksonville Jaguars vs Buffalo Bills.
Yup, and their close loss last week against the Broncos fired them up. The Commanders during that match didn't look like the same team that pressured the Eagles.

I'm glad I forgot about the early London match because I would've bet on the Bills like most bettors did and started my day with a loss.  Tongue

Earlier, almost half of the matches ended up in the way of the underdogs, and the impressive one was probably the Saints holding off the Patriots to zero points. For the MNF, i'm leaning on the plus points for the Packers and I don't buy the home advantage when this looks similar to the Steelers match a couple of weeks ago.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: October 09, 2023, 12:05:14 AM
We have Sportsbet Specials Match of the day for the West Ham Vs Newcastle game for tomorrow with some nice odds for the Magpies to win with Isak with one of the over on goals.
The Newcastle MOTD almost won but West Ham ruined it after getting a late goal to force a draw.

We finally got an NFL MOTD this Sunday and i'm going for the 49ers MOTD since the Cowboys already showed they can be shaky on the road. They're still a solid team that can push this game down to a field-goal difference but I still think the 49ers are the much better team.

Is there any spirit of good will when you intentionally give your money away in order to just have a good time gambling?

Because taking money away from gambling simply makes the game not worth playing.

Will you still participate if money is not involved? Many people will easily quit if all casinos are to be turned into no-money games, isn't it?

Money is still the real reasons why we gamble, been addicted or not, mutual greed or not, all gambling is done to make more money or get some form of reward in the end.
I agree money is the main reason for most gamblers, but some fail to realize that people can have fun with gambling, similar to how you'll spend money for an event. It's not always about winning but finding enjoyment within the activity. I would still play their games even if there's no money involved, but that's not possible because casinos require money or profits to flow in to maintain their business. Let's not forget sports betting is here too, and it's why some gamblers would switch to different types of gambling.
