btw, how do i reverse the firmware?
After upgrading the firmware to the latest (1.2.32) from 1.2.7 , my hashrate has gone down. How do i go back to 1.2.7 ?
I wish spondoolies let users to upload the firmware file instead.
Edit: this new Firmware (1.2.32) sucks . I'm running Normal mode and its only 1.29Th/s.... With the old firmware (1.2.7) its 1.37TH/s

After more mining time, this is the result: Both Normal and Turbo mode :1.28- 1.3TH/s ! . In Quiet Mode: 1.31TH/s - 1.34TH/s !
The noise level seems to be the same in Quiet mode (probably because PSU fan runs full speed in all mode?) . But the temp in Quite mode is higher so i assume the case fans run bit slower.
Can someone from Spondoolies explain?

Increase the max PSU draw, not sure what it defaults to. It has no effect at all. I tried 1200w and 1250w. Same result. Btw with the prev FW 1.2.7, i left it at default which is 1200w. So i dont see this being a problem. My hashrate is terrible at the moment 1.28THs (normal mode or Turbo mode, doesnt matter) Also i left the miner plugged to the same outlet. This firmware just is just messed up. Also the CGminer in this firmware is newer version. Based on my experience with mining, sometimes newer version of miner actually reduce the hashrate. |

For new Spondoolies miners, what firmware does yours come with?
Please let us know about your Hashrate and what mode you're running.
Beware of the latest FW 1.2.32. I upgraded from 1.2.7 and my hashrate is quite lower (below 1.3THs, even in Turbo mode). I hope someone from Spondoolies can explain and provide instruction of rolling back the FW.

Question to the community:
For SP30 it's too late (we're too deep into the design) but for future miners, is LCD with Hashrate / Temperature / IP / other status desirable ?
If so, what data to display ?
Suggestion from a software guy: Forget LCD displays --> add a json-rpc stat api. What I've seen which really helps from the LCD is the IP its set at. Even if you have a default shipping IP the unit can still go walkies and end up in god knows where. Its nice to be able to see where (if anywhere) its ended up. Another newbie account scammer with a so called "visionary" idea to be launched soon on crypto stocks and then fail and disappear and after getting rich off your coins. Haven't u guys learnt enough?  he owns an exchanger in indonesia many members trading BTC/IDR (local currency) there maybe he is newbie here, but he can give you proof that he owns that exchanger  If he owns an exchange why does he need public funding? Doesn't want to risk his own money is my guess. If he gives proof and comes out in press release I might consider funding. Otherwise this is just another scam Go eats a bag of dicks , cosmofly. Thats not true. Only cashing out of RMB would hurt the value of RMB. This banking closure is typical. You cant open an exchange for gold freely in China. Neither can you with bitcoin. I say mining economy is booming in China. And from all the sales of mining equipments, Chinese actually receive influx of westerns money (the vendors or farms dont actually sell their btc on Chinese exchanges, they sell on foreign exchanges and wire fiat funds back into China). China will remain the largest mining gear producer. |

I thought the ban was on bank accounts that deal with BTC exchange and not on BTC trading itself  which is very typical in China. Just like Gold, you cant use bank account to freely trade Gold. This only hurts day traders in China. Speculators and investors are still fine. They can trade among themselves or using offshore trading facilities in HK. |

True, if i'm an operator of Chinese exchange, i will find a buyer over sea , setup a payment vehicle and announce " Bank account closed, blah blah ". Market crashed, ppl dump coins, while i buy them cheap. After a week, i make another announcement " we're able to have another banking setup, everything is fine" Awsome..... also, faking volume will help too. |
